Syntax error in Logical database created by copying standard PGQ

Hi guys.
I created a logical database ZMPQ_PGQ using the copy option from SE36 with the input PGQ (logical database used by QA33).
But it showing some syntax error Field "PGQ_SP" is unknown. It is neither in one of the specified tables nor defined by a "DATA" statement.
How to resolve this?

When checking the syntax of the LDB source code, go to the location of the syntax error (in include DBZMPQ_PGQSXXX), and change all internal table references of PGQ_SP to ZMPQ_PGQ_SP.

And this is the strange point: my source system is not a BI and my dataclasses .SQL files are not empty.
Me too i would expect that the files should be empty but instead they are full of object definitions.
For example i have APPL0.SQL that contains a list of all tables of ECC system, for example

Data retrival error in Logical Database

Hello Gurus,
I am working on a Report on ASSET ACTIVITY BY DATE RANGE .
The program is copied from std. program S_ALR_87011990.
The above std. program displays for the whole financial year. This is modified for a particalar period range in the new leveraged program.
My question is in the below code.
We are fetching data using LDB ADA. The statement "GET anlcv" works fine here, I mean Sy-subrc is 0 and anlcv structure has some data in it.
When it comes to statement "GET anepv" in the below code, we are not getting any data into that structure and sy-subrc NE 0. Then it is skipping all the get statements and directly going to statement " PERFORM abga_simulieren.".
My logic lies in between this Get statement and the perform statement. When i see it in debugging mode my statement is not executed at all.
What needs to be done. Please anyone help me.

A logical database is a special ABAP/4 program which combines the contents of certain database tables. You can link a logical database to an ABAP/4 report program as an attribute. The logical database then supplies the report program with a set of hierarchically structured table lines which can be taken from different database tables.
LDB offers an easy-to-use selection screens. You can modify the pre-generated selection screen to your needs. It offers check functions to check whether user input is complete, correct, and plausible. It offers reasonable data selections. It contains central authorization checks for data base accesses. Enhancements such as improved performance immediately apply to all report programs that use the logical database.
Less coding s required to retrieve data compared to normal internel tables.
Tables used LDB are in hierarchial structure.
Mainly we used LDBs in HR Abap Programming.
Where all tables are highly inter related so LDBs can optimize the performance there.

Redesign database - Create or copy existed forms

My company redesign the database. I have about 20 forms that work with the old database. what is the best way for me to make all my forms work with the new database? Create all the forms or just copy what I need for the forms?

As you said the database is redesigned, if you copy the forms in such situation, the forms will refer to the old schema.
So according to me creating forms would be better option in this case.

TDMS4HCM - Syntax Error CNV_TDMS_HCM_TEST_AUTH_PA

Hello experts,
we have a really big problem regarding the step " Authorization Test for PA Transfer Program" which
calls the report CNV_TDMS_HCM_TEST_AUTH_PA.
It appears a Syntax error:
Message: Logical Database "PNPCE" is unknown.
Our system architecture is installed as follwing:
Q System:
Copy of production system (Source system)
TDMS Server
E System:
This should be the target system for the PA - Data from the Q System.
I think the problem is that the TDMS Server can not find PNPCE because it is a HCM - Logical Database.
And HCM is installed on Q System and not on the TDMS Serce.
Is this right? And when yes how can i offer acces from the TDMS Server to the logical database.

Hello Marco,
You need not have HCM on the TDMS Server, but you wil face some errors during instalation.
You can ignore these errors, by activating the objects manually.

Asset Reporting - Copying Logical Database ADA

Can you please assist with the following query? Im trying to include the following standard R3 ffields within standard R3 reports AR01 (Asset Balances) & AR18 (Depreciation Simulation):

To date I have been unsuccessful in my endeavours.
I have been discussing with an ABAPer and have been discussing the creation of Z transactions to give me the information Im looking for.
Im looking for help, assistance and expertise whether the following would be recommended or even technically feasible.
·     Is it possible to copy logical database ADA to say ZADA (if yes how would I or the ABAPer go about this)?
·     Is there a way to link existing R3 reports to the new logical database
As the majority of the R3 reports appear to be linked to ADA the aim is to amend this once and not require creating lots of Z reports.
Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated

this is strange, what release are you on?
I have just checked AR01 on ECC 6.0, and it offers everything you need. On the selection screen of AR01, you can add selection criteria on both Serial number and Inventory number. Plus, you can display both fields in the ALV list.
The data may be stored on table ANLA physically, but the logical database ADA is using a structure (ANLAV) instead. Both SERNR and INVNR are available in that structure. On the selection screen, you have to use the Dynamic selections button. And in the ALV list, you simply add the 2 columns, best idea wold be to save it as a variant for future use.
Anyway, logical databases can be copied in SE36, you simply have to press the Copy button The more critical issue is how to link standard reports to the new LDB. The answer is, no way. Instead, you should copy some of your favorite standard reports, and change the LDB in the copies.
But, I really do not think you need this, as ADA can provide you with the information required out of the box.

I copy and pasted your code and got the error. I rewrote the code and it went away. I have had problems in DW with templates that gave me errors when everything was good but the only way to fix it was to redo the template from scratch. Sounds stange, but true. The only other thing, and the experts here might chime in is to put the scripts in comment tags like below.

Include program gives a syntax error

I have a code piece as follows:

z_class_emp is another z report.
When I compile the report z_obj_emp, I get an syntax error:

HR Logical Databases
In Human Resources (HR), the following logical databases can be used as a data source for HR InfoSets:
PNP
PAP
PCH
By selecting a logical database, you determine the HR data that can be reported on using an InfoSet.
Logical Database PCH
This logical database generally enables you to report on all HR infotypes. However, you are advised not to use this logical database unless you want to report on Personnel Planning data.
Logical Database PNP
Use logical database PNP to report on HR master data. It is possible to use logical database PCH to access this data, but PNP meets such reporting requirements more quickly because it is best suited to the task of selecting persons.
Logical database PNP enables you to access HR master data and infotypes from Personnel Planning. For example, you have the following options:
Reporting on the costs, number of attendees booked, and instructor for a business event on which an employee is booked
Reporting on working time and planned compensation for a position that an employee occupies
Reporting on the validity and proficiency of a qualification that an employee fulfils
From a technical perspective, this means you can use PNP to report on all of the infotypes that exist for objects (infotype 1000) that have a direct relationship (infotype 1001) with the Person object.
The ability to access infotypes from Personnel Planning using logical database PNP is a special feature that you can only use in the context of SAP Query and Ad Hoc Query. You cannot use this functionality for ABAP reports you programmed yourself.
You can also use logical database PNP to report on data from Personnel Time Management (infotypes 2000 to 2999) and Payroll (special payroll infotypes for the USA and customer infotypes; for more information, access Customizing for the Human Resources Information System and see Payroll Results).

Logical database PAP enables you to access data from Recruitment.

Can I prevent the rapid flashing which occurs when testing a Flash movie which has a syntax error?

I teach games development using Flash Professional CS6, and one of my students has photosensitive epilepsy. He is finding that the 'strobing' effect which occurs when he executes Test Movie on a movie with errors in its script is triggering headaches which can be a precursor to a fit. Obviously this is making it very difficult for him to complete his lab and assignment work. Is there any way of preventing a Flash movie from running if it contains a syntax error?
I have created a workaround by adding a bunch of extra frames to the start of the movie which will display a "SYNTAX ERROR" message if the script doesn't run - this gives my student a few seconds margin to quite the movie before the strobing begins. I have a single frame at the start with a goto statement which jumps over those error frames if the code doesn't have any syntax errors.
This seems to be working ok, but it's an ugly solution - does anyone know of a better way to deal with this?

1.In Preferences you can check "open test-movie in tabs".
2. Having done that you could write a jsfl-script which switches the focus (immeadiately after you test the movie) to another tab in the same register card, thus, forcing the possible "corrupt" testmovie in the background. If are no compiler errors , the testmovie can be made available by simply switching to the test-movie tab, if there are compiler errors, you can close it without having to look at it.
Another option would be to setup FlashDevelop as compiler trigger of Flash.
You have to change these basic properties in your project:
FlashDevelop will only launch the test movie if it compiles flawless, inside Flash.
FlashDevelop will act as a "bouncer" to Flash.

Runtime error while creating logical database report pgm

I have started doing pgm on Logical Database report using VBAK,VBAP and MARA. I took VBAK as the root node and VBAP& MARA as subnodes. The actual requirement is:- I am trying to place these tables in Application server for perfromance issue using Logical database. Based on sales, the items need to be be displayed. And based on Items, the material data should be displayed.So root node here is VBAK.
I have created these 3 nodes in SE36 tx.code. when I go back to se36 main screen and under "subobjects" ,I've selected "selections". I got a dialog box saying that "Nodes for which free selections are to be made". I have clicked on the radio buttons.And then clicked on "transfer" . I am getting a runtime error . Please let me know the solution.
Please do send me the actual process to goon with logical database reporting.

Logically speaking, a company code can have more than one FSV as long as they share the same chart of accounts.
When COA is common, the FSV pattern can be designed seperatly to serve the purpose of varied reporting.
The dump you are getting is a temporary snag. Take a screen shot from SM54 after you execute the report and pass it to BASIS for analysis. They would fix that.

I am using a function to create this database. It is a temporary database that gets recreated or altered frequently.
The code checks for SQL Server, gets it's version number in order to use the default SQL Server path. If SQL Server isn't available, ACE / OLEDB is used to create and manage the database (this part works fine).

Comparing the generated SQL string to sample E at the link above shows them to be identical except for the database name and file pathname, but the paths do exist although the files do not.
The SQL Exception occurs at the first
sql = new SqlCommand(SSData, cnx);
statement in the code. I would think this can be done as a single string even though a .sql file is referenced in the article.

Copy/create program with logical database

Hi
I need to create a program with the same selection-screen as SAP standard program RPRAPA00.
RPRAPA00 is using a logical database, but even that I have passed in the PNP in the attributes of my own progam, I don't get the selection in the top (buttons, key-date info + selection info).
The rest of my program looks fine.
Any ideas how I get the missing selections into the selection-screen?

Define pernr table under tables statement then and use GET PERNR event.This get event is followed by End-Of-Selection.
Syntax: Tables pernr.
Get pernr.
Try, activate and test. This should solve your problem.

I attached the UltraMax Plus with a USB cable. The UltraMax powers the cable so power is not an issue. I can open other files. Also, there is 500GB of files on the drive so I cannot re-format it. Although, I noted I could import the entire Aperture Library. However, I do not want to create a duplicate on my machine because that would be defeating the purpose of the external drive.

Syntax error Creating Transparent Partition in MaxL

I'm trying to create a simple transparent partition (no mapping needed, just using all the 3 dimensions and descendants in the source database to the target database. I'm getting a syntax error, I went through the MaxL naming conventions and also tried a couple of diffferent things but to no avail. Please help as to what the error might be:

Nobody replied to this, but actually the error was the double quotes on Accounts, Products and Market.
