Syntax error in menubar css

I was looking at the css for the the horizontal menu bar in
the Spry framework prerelease 1.5 and found that a 'float' was
spelled incorrectly. the below snippet was cut and pasted directly
as I found it. It is possible that it was an added typo by me
though I am uncertain as I did not modify the original intentional
if that is the case.
The error in question would the '\' in the float portion, so
it reads fl\oat
I thought i would bring this up as if it was not me then it
should be addressed.

Hi,
That is not a syntax error. At the beginning of that css rule
it is a comment saying:
/* HACK FOR IE: to stabilize appearance of menu items; the
slash in float is to keep IE 5.0 from parsing */
The float property was wrote like this on purpose. In fact
that is the hack :).

Why am I getting a syntax error on the /head line in DW CC?

I am getting a syntax error in DW CC. Other threads have indicated this was a bug in CS6 but had been fixed in CC. That leads me to believe it's my fault, but I can't figure it out. Can anyone help based on the information I've pasted below? Thanks!

Well Jon, the code is very simple... it's generated by DW's form check... and, as i said, it happens with unfailing regularity the minute it's put in to a template generated child.

And, whammo: "There is a syntax error on line xx. Code hinting may not work until you fix this error."
And, the error always highlights the closing </script> line.
The script itself is fine:
1. If one puts it into an external js file, there's no problem
2. If one puts it in the body section, there's no problem
3. If one puts it in the template, there's no problem
Also, if one removes the closing </script> tag, the error goes away
The problem only happens in a child generated by a template and in the location I've illustrated. Apparently, this is a problem a lot of users are facing...

I copy and pasted your code and got the error. I rewrote the code and it went away. I have had problems in DW with templates that gave me errors when everything was good but the only way to fix it was to redo the template from scratch. Sounds stange, but true. The only other thing, and the experts here might chime in is to put the scripts in comment tags like below.

A syntax error I'm not sure how to fix

I'm getting a message that says "There is a syntax error on line 154. Code hinting may not work until you fix the error. However, my line 154 was automatically put into the code when I inserted a Spry Menu Bar. I haven't touched the code and so am not sure where the error might have come from. This is how it reads:

That kind of error is usually caused by something other than what it is pointing to. I see it most often when a <script> is self closed <script /> instead of including an end tag </script>. DW often points you in the wrong direction like this.
Could you post a link to a test page online that gives the error?

Cs4 + swfObject = syntax error *sometimes*

With CS4, on some sites I get a syntax error notice, always
pointing to the line following the javascript for a swfObject
insertion. But it only happens on some pages, not all. I have
compared dtd's, css, and anything else I can think of that might be
different, with no success in determining what is causing this. The
page renders fine, but the yellow warning bar is a real annoyance,
and I'd like to cure it?

Unable to log into Facebook. Script errors stacking up. Tried everything...syntax errors, script errors stacking up in error logs

Alittle over a month ago, started intermittently experiencing problems logging into Facebook. Sometimes it would work, other times nothing..just the dreaded 'circle of no progress'..I have tried everything from clear cache to clicking my heels together..I am now at my wits end. I cannot be the only one? I see everything from syntax errors to declaration dropped errors in the error console. When I get pissed enough, I am suddenly allowed to log in, but then I get stuck in facebook, if I stay in there too long, unable to navigate. Is this my machine telling me I need to be more productive oir is this browser truly as messed as it appears?

Not flash/real player related. Thats been eliminated long time ago..I don't even use real player, and not receiving any flash crashes/hangs. I am not able to log into ONE site (Facebook) When I go into error console it is jammed full of errors:

These are just a few cut and pasted off the console...there are about 60 ++ in there off ab out 6 log in attempts. Went back in and was able to log in..logged out..tried to go back and same thing, can't log on.

Cant edit syntax error, please help!

New to dreamweaver and intergrating a wordpress blog into my site and I got a syntax error. The problem and question is how do i fix the error. Everytime i try to edit it or delete something the program dosent let me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Below you will see i marked line 55 below.

Syntax error while writing a select query.

Hi all,
I have a requirement where I have to pick a value if the text for that value is
MYCARu2019S Lovliest Car.
And so I wrote a query that
SELECT     RUECK INTO XRUECK FROM AFVC WHERE ltxa1 = ' MYCARu2019S Lovliest Car'.
                ENDSELECT.
But it gives me a syntax error saying
u201CLiterals taking up more than one line not permittedu201D.
Can some one tell me what is wrong. I need to select RUECK value from AFVC table if
ltxa1 value is ' MYCARu2019S Lovliest Car'.
Kindly help what is going wrong...

Narendran is right use two single quotes.
also careful wile comparing string. i think as you write ltxa1 value is ' MYCARu2019S Lovliest Car'.
so while comparing you must not use space just before staring use the following
SELECT rueck INTO xrueck FROM afvc WHERE ltxa1 = 'MYCAR''S Lovliest Car'. " Not use Space before M
ENDSELECT.

Syntax error while running a driver program

bujt when i am running this program, i am getting syntax error "ITAB" is neither specified under "TABLES" nor defined as internal tabels..
plz tell me why this probleming is occuring?and how can i solve this....

or

From the grammar in the JPA spec, SUM only takes a state_field_path_expression which is defined as
state_field_path_expression := {identification_variable | single_valued_association_path_expression}.state_field

SYNTAX_ERROR unable to log in to SAP system Syntax error in program "SAPMSE

hi SAP Experts,
I have applied Basis patch 12 and I scheduled the background. Backgroud job was terminated. System became slow. Then I stopped the server and restarted. Now, I am unable to log in to SAP GUI by entering Username and Password and getting syntax error.
Syntax error in program "SAPMSEM1".
What happened?

As it seems supported by SAP, i'm using db2 LUW 9.7 in target system.

And this is the strange point: my source system is not a BI and my dataclasses .SQL files are not empty.
Me too i would expect that the files should be empty but instead they are full of object definitions.
For example i have APPL0.SQL that contains a list of all tables of ECC system, for example

What happened?
Error in ABAP application program.
The current ABAP program "SAPLRSAP" had to be terminated because one of the
statements could not be executed.
This is probably due to an error in the ABAP program.
In program "SAPLXRSA ", the following syntax error occurred
in the Include "ZXRSAU01 " in line 21:
"Field "ZOXPRO0043" is unknown. It is neither in one of the specified t"
"ables nor defined by a "DATA" statement. "DATA" statement."
Author and last person to change the Include are:

What can you do?
Please eliminate the error by performing a syntax check
(or an extended program check) on the program "SAPLXRSA ".
You can also perform the syntax check from the ABAP/4 Editor.
If the problem persists, proceed as follows:
Print out the error message (using the "Print" function)
and make a note of the actions and input that caused the
error.
To resolve the problem, contact your SAP system administrator.
You can use transaction ST22 (ABAP Dump Analysis) to view and administer
termination messages, especially those beyond their normal deletion
date.

How to correct the error
Probably the only way to eliminate the error is to correct the program.
If you cannot solve the problem yourself and you wish to send

2. A suitable printout of the system log
To obtain this, call the system log through transaction SM21.
Limit the time interval to 10 minutes before and 5 minutes
after the short dump. In the display, then select the function
"System->List->Save->Local File (unconverted)".
3. If the programs are your own programs or modified SAP programs,
supply the source code.
To do this, select the Editor function "Further Utilities->
Upload/Download->Download".

I think some objects should still lying in the dev. server which are yet to be transported, also try to deactivate and reactivate the project for user exit for BW and transport it .
Also manually request can be created for transporting object "ZOXPRO0043" into quality environment and transport it .
