Syntax Error with creating object

I am getting the following syntax error in the code below:
non-staic variable this cannot be referenced from a static context
job[ ] thread = new job(20);

     for(int index=0; index < 20; index++) {

Declare the nested class 'job' as static. Like "static class job" etc.
