System copy EP on SQL Server

Hi,
I am trying to perfom system copy from an EP Netweaver 7.0 SR3 production system to a development system.
My production system is a Java only, High Availability system with SQL server.
I have finished the export process using the sapinst tool and I have created a folder EXPORT which I copied to the new server (target system). In the target system (not high availability) I have prepared the OS (windows) and I have installed SQL server. I started sapinst selecting system copy - target system - central system - based on AS Java - central system from sapinst.
After few steps the procedure prompts for "Migration Export" media. I enter the path of the folder that I have copied erlier but I get the following error:
You entered: X:\IMPORT\JAVA Found the label SAP:JMIG:700:::* but need the label SAP:MIGJDMP:700:::*
Onother question that I have is:
Do I have to install the SAP EP first in target systme using normal procedure and then to use the system copy procedure in target system?
Can anyone help me?
Thanks in advanced.

Hi,
As per SAP Note 151603 :Note 151603 - Copying an SQL Server database,
For Java or ABAP + Java systems that are based on NetWeaver technology lower than Version 7.10,
you must first export parts of the Java source system. For this, you must use the delivered SAP installation master DVD
of your installed SAP release. The export of the Java part into a file is then created using the option 'system copy'.
Have you used the same IM, which is corresponding to your Installed SAP EP release ?

  • Creation of System Stored Procedure in SQL Server 2012 & SQL Server 2012 R2.

    Hi all,
I am stuck at a point I am looking for a system stored procedure named 'sp_dboption' in SQL Server 2012  & R2 but could not find.
Searched for it on the net and found that, this stored procedure 'sp_dboption' is now obsolete. So I tried to copy the content of 'sp_dboption' stored procedure from SQL Server 2008 R2 and create new system stored procedure with this name 'sp_dboption' in
SQL Server 2012 but was unable to create the system stored procedure.
Can you guys please tell me how to create system stored procedure in SQL Server 2012 & SQL Server 2012 R2. The reason of why I want to achieve this is because I have used 'sp_dboption' system stored procedure  in my application to create a database.
As 'sp_dbotion' stored procedure is present in SQL Server 2008 R2 I am able to create the database in SQL server 2008 R2 but not in SQL server 2012.
Can you please guide me how to create system stored procedure. I am out of luck.
Please assist me, thanks & looking for help at the earliest. Hope someone will come to the fore and help me.

    Hi Vishwajeet,
If you tried to create any object in the sys schema, you will get the error below.
The specified schema name "sys" either does not exist or you do not have permission to use it.
So I am afraid creating any object in sys schema is not supported by SQL Server. Here is a similar link for your reference.
How to create table in SYS schema in SQL Server?
Though sp_dboption is not in SQL Server 2012, does creating a user-defined one with the same content in 2008 make any difference in your business? You just need to specify the fully qualified name dbname.dbo.sp_dboption.
If you are still interested in creating a system sp_dboption, you can register it with the
    sp_ms_marksystemobject.

  • System Copy of our Production Server using orabrcopy method.

    Hi
We are planning to do a System Copy of our Production Server using orabrcopy method.
But as the Production Server Java Version is below 1.4.1, Orabrcopy could not be executed.
As per the planned downtime of the Production Server, we have copied all the database offline. ( say 9th of August)
but we could not create the control , trace, init<sid>.ora files using ORABRCOPY.. during offline database copy.
Now the system is up and running.. We havent created the files yet.
    I have 2 questions..
    1. Is there any other method so that we can create the control , trace, and init<sid>.ora files.
    2. If we create the control trace files now ( 13th of August ) can we use the offline backup that we took on (9th of August) to perform a System Copy..
    Need your addvice..
    Thanks and Regards
    Paguras

Basically, orabrcopy does (aside from other things) an
    alter database backup controlfile to trace;
You can enter that manually (anytime) and use the resulting .trc file in saptrace directory as a base for control.sql, however, in this case you need to "know" what you're doing. ORABRCOPY is a "nice frontend" for this because it uses the same statement to create CONTROL.SQL, it just edits it appropriately which you will need to do manually.

Installation of SAP ERP 2005 SR1 on the new servers (prod and Dev)
Installation of SQL Server 2005 on the thir server
Migration of the existing configuration data on SAP 4.7 to the new PROD and DEV

  • Heterogeneous System Copy from MS SQL to Oracle 11g

    Good day friends,
I am currently in the stage of running SAPINST to continue the System Copy to the Target (i.e. the export is complete).
This may seem like a rudimentary question, but I am trying to implement Oracle 11g as the new database (and the SAP version of ECC 5). Now when I execute the sapinst, I only get the option for the Client on 9.2 and the RDBMS on 10.2.0.4.
I would like to specify 10.2 for the Client and 11g for the RDBMS, but those options are not included in the SAPINST. What must I do to get these options in the SAPINST?
    Any help would be welcome.
    Thanks.

I have run a system export from MSSQL and Windows Server, and I wish to run the import to Red Hat 5.4 and Oracle 11g.
I have used the latest ECC 5 Installation Master disk, which still does not have the option to install Oracle 11g. In fact, it only has the option to install Oracle 10g with an Oracle Client version 9. Surely there must be a newer option with Oracle Client 10?
Here is the product code for the Inst Master I downloaded.

  • URGENT-System Copy 2004s (control.sql not found)

    Hi everybody,
I am in the middle of an homogenous system copy (with installation method backup/restore) with oracle on windows.  The SAP version is N2004s ABAB+Java.
I am doing this procedure with the Netweaver Guide for this type of copies, this time i have tried not to do my "standard" procedure which is to install the complete new system and after finished the complete new system install, then restore the source database and make adjustments at database level.
This time i am doing the "official" procedure.  I have installed the oracle sw at the database host.  I have installed the SCS instance at the scs instance with no problems. And... right know i am installing the database instance on the database host, selecting System Copy --> Homogenous Copy (Backup/Restore).  I have restored the datafiles in the target database host and i have create the control.sql file and initSID.ora file from the source system with ora_br_copy.bat.
I am in the middle of the database instance installation, at this time sapinst have not created yet the OracleServiceNEWSID service in windows, i am assuming sapinst is going to create it (is it right???).
Ressuming, Righ now, Sapinst have stopped indicating to restore the backup (which i have done), and now i am continuing sapinst but i receive the message :
    MDB-06020   File not found [CONTROL.SQL]
I don't know where sapinst is looking for the CONTROL.SQL script file, i have tried many locations, can you help me please??????
    Regards,
    Christian

I read carefully the system copy guide, there i found the paths:
control.sql debe colocarse en <sap_instdir> path, en mi caso "d:\program files\sapinst_instdir"
initSID.ora, obviamente debe colocarse en el "db_home\database", en mi caso "l:\oracle\SID\102\database"
The installation ran successfully.  Sapinst created the windows oracle services, and ran automatically the control.sql script to create and start the new instance.
    What a installation tool!!!
    Cheers.

  • [823] [HY000] [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]The operating system returned error 1450(Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service.) to SQL Server.

    Hi,
I am facing an issue while loading fresh data into SQL server database.
we are able to load data into staging area, but while processing stored procedures system face bellow error message :
[823] [HY000] [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]The operating system returned error 1450(Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service.) to SQL Server during a write at offset 0x00000243bd0000 in file 'E:\SQLDB\DBName.mdf'.
Additional messages in the SQL Server error log and system event log may provide more detail. This is a severe system-level error condition that threatens database integrity and must be corrected immediately. Complete a full database consistency check (DBCC
CHECKDB). This error can be caused by many factors; for more information, see SQL Server Books Online.
we use windows 2008 R2 with SQL server managment studio 2008.
    Appreciate your suggestion.
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Manorath
    Manorath

    Hi Manorath,
Based on my research, this issue can be occurred in the following scenarios:
You are running a DBCC command on a large database. For example, you are running the DBCC CHECKDB statement on the database. At the same time, you run many DML statements on the database.
You create a database snapshot for a large database. At the same time, you are running many DML statements on the database.
In these scenarios, the SQL Server service stops responding. The DBCC CHECK statement is never completed, and you receive the error message repeatedly.
This issue occurs because the sparse file for a database snapshot file has exceeded the file size limitation in NTFS file system. When the operating system error 1450 occurs, SQL Server enters an infinite retry loop.
To fix this issue, please download and install Cumulative update package 1 for SQL Server 2008 Service Pack 1. Besides, because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous
SQL Server 2008 fix release. We recommend that you consider applying the most recent fix release that contains this hotfix.

  • After sql server 2012 installation, I have changed sql server database engine service account from network service user to system user. What is disadvantages of this process?

         After
sql server 2012 installation, I   attached my production db. Because of some reasons, i
changed sql engine account from network service user to system user by means of sql server configuration manager.
         Now , there isn’t
a problem at sql server running system.  But
    I have doubts that
     this can produce problems later. Because  sql server database engine account must have privileges that listed below;
Log on as a service (SeServiceLogonRight)
    Replace a process-level token (SeAssignPrimaryTokenPrivilege)
    Bypass traverse checking (SeChangeNotifyPrivilege)
Adjust memory quotas for a process
    (SeIncreaseQuotaPrivilege)
    Permission to start SQL Writer
Permission to read the Event Log service
Permission to read the Remote Procedure Call service
While sql server installation, setup gives these
privileges to network service user automatically, but changing user by means of sql confugarition manager does not give these
    privileges.
Now, system user has privileges listed below. And sql server has been running for 1,5 months without any problems.
Log on as a service (SeServiceLogonRight)
         Bypass traverse checking
(SeChangeNotifyPrivilege) (Everyone user has his privileges. So i think that system user has this privilege also)
    What problems can occur because of this situation? Shall i give other privileges to system user and restart sql server or not? And how can i give these privileges to system user listed below;
    Replace a process-level token (
this can be set from user rights assignments)
Adjust memory quotas for a process
(this can be set from user rights assignments)
Permission to start SQL Writer (
    ? - give advice )
Permission to read the Event Log service (
    ? - give advice )
Permission to read the Remote Procedure Call service (
    ? - give advice )

Our server is  windows server 2008 r2 enterprise edition. I have looked the bunch of permissions in user rights menu  that is in local security policy settings gui.
    And i have seen those permissions below were not granted to system user;
    Bypass traverse checking (SeChangeNotifyPrivilege)
Adjust memory quotas for a process
    (SeIncreaseQuotaPrivilege)
So, briefly you say, don't panic ?

  • Help with copying SP List data to SQL Server

I need to read some data from a SP list and copy it to a table in SQL Server.
Visual Studio  BIDS 2013. SharePoint 2010. Planning to migrate to 2013 this year. I tried to use the
SP Data source/destination adapter with SSIS, but learned that I can't with Visual Studio 2013. I'm really looking for any way to read data from a SP list and import it into a SQL database (SQL 2014). Haven't found anything online that has worked for me the
way they say it should (such as OData connection in SSIS). Maybe it's version issues.
Does anyone have a solid step-by step to do this? I am not a C# developer...

    Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to read SharePoint list data and copy it to SQL Server table.
Hatim's option is a way to achieve it manually.
If you want to do it automatically, I suggest you can create a console application to read SharePoint list using CAML Query and Client Object Model, Then use SqlConnection object to connect database, then you can insert record using SqlCommand object.
Here are some detailed code demos for your reference:
