System Error in KM Content - Documents

Hi
I am getting the following error when navigating from Content Administration > KM Content > Documents
System Error
An exception occured during the program execution
On checking the NWA:
java.lang.NullPointerException
at com.sapportals.wcm.util.acl.jdbc.JDBCAcl.containsPrincipal(JDBCAcl.java:437)
at com.sapportals.wcm.util.acl.jdbc.JDBCAcl.isAuthorized(JDBCAcl.java:410)
at com.sapportals.wcm.util.acl.jdbc.JDBCAcl.checkPermission(JDBCAcl.java:615)
at com.sapportals.wcm.repository.security.ResourceAcl.checkPermission(ResourceAcl.java:29
I searched for this in forum and came across the SAP Note: 1450398 via the [link|http://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1722232&messageID=9254778#9254778]
*Error doesn't appear when logging with the J2EE admin rights As per the note, I did check the System Principals and they are correct..
Any thoughts?

B.) Possible workaround before the release of mentioned deliveries: Logon to the portal with a system-principal user. Make sure that the
respective system principal user is authorized to change resourcepermissions,i.e. "Change Resource Permissions" checkbox is being activated.
After that try to modify the ACL of a KM plain resource (or folder location) for which the issue persists. "
The "Change Resource Permissions" is already acitvated as per the example here under:
Example
Permissions for an Administrator Role
Authorized to Change Resource Permissions = activated
Unlock Permission                         = activated
Resource Permissions                      = write, read, delete
Permissions for index_service User
Authorized to Change Resource Permissions = deactivated
Unlock Permission                         = deactivated
Resource Permissions                      = read
It does not say to change permissions of the "Documents " folder self!. I checked the permissions on the "Documents" folder and it is by Default to "Everyone - full control".

Hi Juan,
The actual bug was with "com.sap.tc.pcd.kmsearchadapter.par" file. There was an inconsistency between SPS 20 and the file.
Basis people can help you to fix this issue.

Error on update of document stored in content server

Error on update of document stored in content server
On a regular basis (but not reproducible) we find that after updating a document, it is deleted from content server (or at least it cannot be retrieved). These problems have only been experienced since we switched to using content server as our storage repository, as opposed to R/3.
We create and maintain documents through a bespoke transaction, which calls standard SAP functions BDS_BUSINESSDOCUMENT_CREA_TAB and cl_bds_document_set=>update_with_table.
Whilst the errored documents are listed in the BDS via transaction OAOR (business document navigator), an error is received when you try to display it (in our case an MS-Word error indicating file/pathname invalid).
We are satisfied that file/pathname are valid and find that this occurs occasionally when a document has been updated. It appears that the document has been deleted.
This bespoke transaction has been running successfully for almost two years, and these problems have only been experienced after switching to content server as a storage repository (as opposed to R3 previously). Has anyone else experienced these problems?
We are running :
R/3 Enterprise 620,
SAP HTTP Content Server Version 6.30 Patch 13
SAPDB version 7.3.0.54

To check the connectivity between your content server and Workstation and SAP Server.
Pls goto the command prompt of your workstation
give the command like this example.
C:\>Ping 117.123.45.201
you will get the reply from the server. here 117.123.45.201 is your content server IP.
If you are getting the reply then it means that your contentserver and workstation are connected propely.
Like that pls check the connectivity between your systems.
Pls check the hosts file of your systems also.
If the hosts file entry is not maintained, you can check-out file from content server but you cannot check-in the original.
Pls let me know what kind of error Message you are getting?
From where you are trying to check-in the Original? From the DIR screen or from CAD Desktop screen?

System Error when posting document

Hi, all!
We are using SAP BPC 7.0 SP3 on SQL 2005. When we try post document to content library and select option "Send mail notification" the system error occur "The system encountered an error an cannot proceed", Detail information: "Could not access CDO.Message object". We had set right parameters for smtp in WebAdministration before post document. Then we don't select option "Send mail notification" document is posted without any error.
Have anybody faced with such error?

I use the same smtpuser login, as in email of user which public document and everything post ok. When I try to post document by another user when error appear again.
Is in BPC only one user able to post document, or every user have to change smtpuser in Web-Admin before posting of document?

System error on posting document

Hi,
Since a week we have been experiencing problems when trying to post documents through the SAP BPC WEB funcitonality. When selecting the content library from the web we get a system error. For as far as I can recall nothing has changed in the settings of the application. This is the error message which appears:
System error:
The system has encountered an error and cannot proceed. Please select the back button and try again. If the problem persists, cantact your system administrator.
Job name : http://10.101.10.198/OSoft/Contents/WebContentsList.aspx
Detail : The , character, hexadecimal value 0x2C, cannot begin with a name. Line 8, position 102.
We are running on a Windows 2003 server. SQL 2005 and SAP BPC SP3
Does anyone has a clue?

Thanks for all the help guys. The problem is solved now. It appeared that there were some duplicate values in the table dbo.tblcollabtype which caused the errors.

What kind of file are you saving, and what sort of clientserver setup do you have?
If you're using MS Office, it doesn't play nice with OS X Server, particularly with network homes.

I thought Macintosh system errors went away with OS 9?No Simeon, there are many this one sounds more an Acrobat file issue rather than an OS X system problem. Have you checked on the Adobe forums? Have you tried a "Save As" on the file?

Account assignment error in internal order K1153000004111 for position 2000000990/0000000020 (Notification E C( 321)
Regarding to the account assignement, we developed a field to input Accounts IDS for WBS.
This field has a customization table related which allows to visualize in a dropdown list the allowed WBS ID per user according to the entries in the table.
Also, In the Service Order there is one status that triggers an action that creates a Sales Order in CRM that is replicated in ECC, but since I have this error Sales order is not being replicated in ECC.
Any ideas?

From the nature of Error messages, it looks like these are related Customization settings. As you mentioned your SAP CRM system is connected to SAP ERP system, so Controlling documents and other account postings are happening there.
So, the best approach will be to get in touch with your functional consultant who will be the best person to guide you with the scenario and the respective process setup. You can also have a look at SAP HELP about the integration of the CRM and ERP systems along with the data exchange.

For the Stacked canvas there should be a content canvas mandatory in the forms.
you designed the canvas and changed the type as stacked. but there is at least one mandatory content canvas for the forms.

System Error occured during lock management in activating BI Content.

In trying to activate BI content, 'InfoObject Actual for Netweaver Demo', on clicking install after selecting the grouping settings, i get the error message
"System error occurred during lock management"
What causes this problem and how do i successfully install BI content?. Please assist.

Hi,
The error indicates missing or inactive message/enqueue server or network problems.
Please follow the steps below to help troubleshoot the problem
1. Logon to each server separately and goto SM12->Extras->Diagnostics to test the connections for the enqueue server. This will test the access of each server.
2 Use SMGW and SM59 to test the RFC connections. See SAP Note 47682.
You may want to have your network administrator/Basis people test the connections & analyse the network.
Use the message server/logon group testing tool "lgtst" (Note 64015), & the "niping" program (Note 500235) to diagnose the network.
Have a look at attached note 124562 in order to check if you have a hostname resolution problem.
Check your DNS / network setting that this kind of problems can not lead to blocking situations of the dispatcher.
To avoid the blocking of the dispatcher you can set the parameter
rdisp/reverse_name_lookup = 0 to avoid such situations.

I was trying to create/Maintain JCo destions on Web Dynpro Content Administrator caught up with the 500 Internal Server Error

Possible Reasons:
1. Some fields for the backend system used to setup the JCO destination are not updated properly (i.e.
empty) in SLD.
2. Ensure that the SLD is setup properly. Click on the u201CTest Connectionu201D to check that the SLD is up and running.
