System Queries Statement

I want to know whethr we can see the query statements for the system defined reports. For example the Sales reports, Sales oppurtunity reports. I am trying to make some reports and not able to find the specific feilds to the satisfactory out put. Can I see he SQL query behind these reports by any means.

Some of these report are generated using Stored Procedures while others are part of the core SAP Code. A common way used to see the SQL Code when you do not have direct access is to use a tool called SQL Server Profiler.
This can be found in Start > All Program > Microsoft SQL Server 2005 > Performance Tools > ....

Sure you can avoid them. Disable AWR.
Sorry, but they are the queries required to get AWR data, and the fact you see them means not much happens in your database.
The result of instrumenting Oracle with AWR is the database never will do nothing anymore.
If you can't live with that, stop using Oracle or AWR.

Restricting access to system queries

Hi experts!
Is it possible to restrict access to system queries (in SAP reports) for a particular user?
Also, can we restrict inventory reports generated to a certain item group only for a particular user? example: item groups available are Spare Parts, Raw Mat, WIP & FG. The user should only be able to generate inventory reports concerning Spare Parts.

Hi Tessa
You can restrict Access to System Queries by providing NO AUTHORIZATION to the option Saved Query - System.
The same can be set under
Administration --> System Initialization --> Authorizations --> General Authorizations --> Reports --> Query Generator --> Saved Queries - System

I have an ipad3 and a PC
I am trying to connect the iPad3 to the PC for HotSpotting reason (the ability to use the internet on the PC)
Turning on HOT SPOT on the Apple ipad works GREAT when using it through WI-Fi and through Blue Tooth. But connecting it directly through the included iPad 3 USB Cable to the USB side of the PC does NOT work. I tried several PCs, and several Cables. Any other ideas

System 7, code 31 is always a networking problem. Meaning something on your network is preventing the book information from getting to the rights-management server (or from the rights-management information getting sent back)

Z87-GD65 - how to make E2200 network port active in S5 system power state?

My question is how do I make the E2200 network port active in the S5 system power state on the MSI Z87-GD65 motherboard?
I require Wake on LAN (magic packet) for my computer but after shutdown the network port is inactive hence the WOL packet can not wake the computer. I have checked and activated the following items:
On the motherboard
- EuP 2013 = disabled
- Resume by PCI-E device = enabled
In Windows 8.1 E2200 network port settings
- Wake on Magic Packet = enabled
- Energy efficient network = disabled
After I shutdown (power state S5) the network port activity lights go dark so I assume the port has shutdown as well. On my previous Gigabyte motherboard the network port stayed active allowing WOL packets to be transmitted to turn on the pc. Have I missed a setting on this new motherboard? My workmate also bought the same motherboard and has the same issue.

MSI support responded and listed the correct settings and it is working!
So the correct settings are:
In the motherboard BIOS:
- LAN Option ROM = Enabled
- EuP 2013 = Disabled
- Resume by PCI-E device = Enabled
In Windows 8.1 E2200 network port settings:
Under Power Management:
- Allow this device to wake the computer = ON
- Only allow a magic packet to wake the computer = ON
Under Advanced:
- Energy Efficient Ethernet = Disabled
- Shutdown Wake Up = Enabled
- Wake on Magic Packet = Enabled
All working fine now. All I was missing was the "Shutdown Wake Up" setting. I hope this helps anyone else who has this excellent motherboard.

SYSTEM-CALL statement

please help to give some detials about below statment:
system-call init-text <p_text> using <p_field> program <program_name>.
and i got one issue with above statement:
system-call init-text p_text using 'SCN_PROJN' program 'SAPDBPSJ'.
it seems that to get field description of 'SCN_PROJN' of logical database 'PSJ'. but after this statement p_text get value as 'CN_PROJN' instead of 'Project Definition'. this issue happens after system upgrade.
please give some suggestion about above issue.

SYSTEM-CALL is for SAP internal use only and has been replaced by kernel methods (see ABAP documentation). You should not use this statement as a customer, and if there is a problem with SAP standard code, then check for OSS notes.

CS3 Setup System Check states that Safari is open when it is closed

Running Setup under OSX, and during System Check, alert states that "Installation cannot continue until the following applications are closed: Safari".
I have verified that Safari is closed, and no other users logged on, but cannot satisfy this prompt.

What issue do you have? If you find internal queries in AWR (while at the same time you have crippled AWR by stopping all jobs) it just means your database doesn't display much activity.
I recommend
1 - stop chasing phantoms
2 - revert any measure you took to stop automatic jobs. They are not the issue.
Or if you really want this query to disappear: stop the job facility completely.

A recent download of an iTunes update, for some unknown reason, failed on my computer. Since then I get a system error message everytime I log on telling me that the program cannot be opened because 'MSVCR80.d11' is missing from my computer. When I try to open iTunes I get an 'error 7 (Windows error 126)' message and am advised to reinstall iTunes. However, when I attempt to do this, it downloads the programme and gets as far as installation, at which point I get yet another message: this time 'Service Apple Mobile Device failed to start'.
I am at a loss to know what to try next and would appreciate any assistance. I'm also concerned that, in the process of reinstalling iTunes, I am going to lose all the music I have collected over the years.

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

I'm trying to direct the system.out.println stream to a text field in Swing so that when any system.out.println statemetns are executed the text field will display them as well. I would imagine there has to be some kind of event listener. Any ideas?

Can we edit the System Report queries to add some missing fields ?

I'm using SAP Business One 2005 A and I was wondering if there was a way to edit the system report queries. Sometime, I'm only missing calculated fields in the existing report. Something as easy as the difference between 2 dates is not working with the formula fields.
Instead of rewriting everything, could we simply see that original query and edit it to add the missing fields ?
I don't like the fact I can't add my own created report from a query in the main menu. Since I couldn't do anything with the Backorder reports by default, I created mine with my own SQL query. Can't I replace the existing one with my own ?

Hi Daniel,
You can edit a system query but then you can only save it as a user query (ie you cannot overwrite the system queries).
User queries can't be placed in the Main Menu using the standard GUI though you could add them to the User Menu tab so your users can get to them easily. I think to add them to the Main Menu would require the development of an add-on that updated the Main Menu and triggered the running of the query when the user clicked on the menu option.
The other thing to look at is using XL Reporter for your reports rather than the Query Generator. With XL Reporter you can automatically add reports to the main menu.

Here is what I tried to do:
1. Restarted that thing.
2. Cleaned the security log.
3. Installed Windows Server 2003 Hotfix rollup KB940349-v3.
4. Stopped both SBSMONITORING and SHAREPOINT instances of MSDE, SQL 2005, SQL 2005 VSS and tried to perform the system state backup then. Stopped Exchange 2003 before launching NTBACKUP as well.
5. "regsvr32 sqlvdi.dll" in MSDE directory.
6. Renamed "System Volume Information" on all volumes and VSS has re-created them.
7. chkdsk /f was fun on all volumes, no major issues found.
8. Installed Hotfixes KB967551, KB975928-v2 (someone recommended).
9. Disabled SQL Server VSS Writer (SQLVDI errors disappeared from the application event log, VSS and NTBACKUP errors stayed).
10. Re-registered the DLLs as per Shaon Shan's post at http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winservergen/thread/346fa42c-a476-457f-bcf3-59f87e444b55
The above had no effect on the issue whatsoever, except a little change at item 9 as mentioned.

I just had that problem. I saw friday my backup from my sbs 2003, was not completing becasuse it said it couldn´t creat a shadow copy in the external drive... It kept giving me errors os VSS and Volsnap... But strange thing is, i have VSS turned off in all
drives, and from months no problems with backups... So i went in Event viewer and look at it with attention, i saw a error that keep coming up from time to time (because we change the external drive form week to week). And i realize that there's a disk error
event...
Couldn´t run checkdisk from server, dont now why.. So i disconnected the drive, connected to my laptop, and ran a CheckDisk /F /X. ... It had BAD SECTORS! So i ran check disk... waited like 10-20 minutes. And then i ran it again just in case, and the 2nd
time was much more faster, like 3-6 minutes.
I disconnected from laptop, and connected to server. I went to the Backup wizard (in server managment), and press Backup now...
It hang 5-10 second in Creating Shadow copy..... And it started making the Backup :_D
I've seen all errors that were reported exactly as mine. I ran the Hotfix, all stayed the same, i followed all manual steps and still the same... and the problem was always in the external drive, which had bad sectors.
Hope it will help the next person that needs this info!
