SystemManagerHandler bug with otherSystemManager event handling?

I've run across an issue with PopUpManager & Alerts generating stack overflow errors.
When I have multiple windows in AIR open with Alerts active, and I click on any window with out an alert, I get the stack overflow error.
(Note: You have to open the multiple windows first .. then trigger the alerts. If you open a window 1 at a time, and trigger the alerts .. you get no stack overflow)
Anyways .. I traced this down inside of systemManagerHandler to the function windowedManagerHandler
In that function is a piece of code for handling events triggered from other system managers:
private function systemManagerHandler(event:Event):void
        if (event["name"] == "sameSandbox")
            event["value"] = currentSandboxEvent == event["value"];
           return;
Notice in this code the last == ... that seems to be a coding error. If i change the line to  event["value"] = currentSandboxEvent = event["value"]; my stack overflow errors go away.
Can anyone else confirm that this is indeed a coding error in systemManagerHandler ?

Hi Luk,
You don't mention which version or patch level of SBO your client is using. Does this happen for you on different patches?
I did a quick test on one of my test systems (SBO 2007A SP1 Patch 9 HF1) and I only get one resize event firing. It's the same whether I run with no addons or with an addon that I wrote that adds controls to the sales order form and which moves those items when the form is resized.
Kind Regards,

  • Essential event viewer bugs with "Forwarded Events" log in Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7

    To my general experience, Windows event viewer is one of the most problematic, faulty management tools in the case of extensive use of its more sophisticated capabilities. The sole description as well as reproduction of some entangled failures would require
    remarkable effort.
    With the "Forwarded Events" log however, the situation becomes particularly worse in that even simple functionality fails and workarounds are difficult to find. That’s what I’ll describe here in order to share my experience with interested users.
    For precision: I’ve extensively used event viewer on a German Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 (Windows SBS 2011 Standard SP1). The bugs I found on that system, I could reproduce on a German Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit SP1, too.
    Problem 1: Failure of even simple event filtering
    To reproduce this problem, execute these steps on a test machine with any of the two OS mentioned above:
    (i) To prepare log contents, do either of the following:
    (a) populate some events to your local "Forwarded Events" log (most simply by subscribing events from other logs of the same machine; stop subscription if you have collected some events)
    Or
    (b) copy a non-empty log file "ForwardedEvents.evtx" from another machine (with any of the two OS mentioned above) to your test machine and open the file in event viewer.
    (ii) Navigate to your "Forwarded Events" test log and open the filtering dialog. In the "Includes/Excludes Event IDs" field, type: 1-9000. Click OK.
    (iii) Look at the results pane: Surprise, 0 Events! Do you really have no event IDs between 1 and 9000 in your test log?
    (iv) Another example, if you have forwarded security events in your test log: Clear filter, if any previous filter is in place. Open the filtering dialog. In "Keywords" sub-dialog, choose "Audit Success". Click OK.
    (v) Look at the results pane: Surprise, 0 Events! Do you really have no successful security monitoring events in your test log?
    I’ll finish here. If you have a rich variety of events in your test log available, let your imagination run wild to test around. Finally include some simple manually created or modified XPath filters on the XML tab of the filtering dialog. I promise, you’ll
    find a lot of additional strange results.
    Problem 2: Cannot save manually selected events to .evtx file
    Navigate to your "Forwarded Events" test log. In the results pane, select one or more events by highlighting them by mouse clicks. In context menu, choose "Save selected events". In the "save as" dialog, choose file type *.evtx
    and save your file. Open the newly created file in event viewer. Result: Surprise, no events inside the new file!
    Have more fun with forwarded events
    Helmut

    Did you mean that right click Forwarded Event and select "Filter Current Log..."? Since I can filter correct event vai the "Filter Current Log..." in my Lab environment.
    Hi Justin,
    yes, I mean "Filter Current Log ... " (in my German systems: "Aktuelles Protokoll filtern ... ").
    What do you mean with "my Lab environment" exactly?
    In the meantime, I performed additional tests. I copied the "ForwardedEvents.evtx" test file from Server 2008 R2 resp. Windows 7 to
    (i) German Windows 8 Pro 64-Bit RTM
    (ii) German Windows 8.1 Pro 64-Bit, up-to-date
    in order to view and filter the file there.
    Results: Same event viewer problem on Windows 8 RTM, but correct behavior on Windows 8.1!
    Best regards, Helmut

  • IE / Spry Bug with custom error handler

    Ok, as I was looking through SpryData.js I noticed these
    wonderful lines:
    Spry.Utils.loadURL.callback = function(req)
    if (!req || req.xhRequest.readyState != 4)
    return;
    if (req.successCallback && (req.xhRequest.status ==
    200 || req.xhRequest.status == 0))
    req.successCallback(req);
    else if (req.errorCallback)
    req.errorCallback(req);
    In particular the "errorCallback()" method interested me as I
    wanted to introduce my own error handler. As I went about testing
    this I came up with a quick try of:
    var url = "/cfcs/mycfc.cfc?method=IsValidPath&path=" +
    encodeURIComponent(sl.value + sd.value);
    var optionsObj = new Object();
    optionsObj.errorCallback = ShowError;
    Spry.Utils.loadURL("GET", url, false, ValidateForm,
    optionsObj);
    And this works great in FF, but not IE. When I cause an error
    to occur from ColdFusion I pass a status code of "500". In FF the
    error code causes my "ShowError" function to fire, but not in IE. I
    tracked it to this bit of code in SpryData.js:
    Spry.Utils.loadURL = function(method, url, async, callback,
    opts)
    var req = new Spry.Utils.loadURL.Request();
    req.method = method;
    req.url = url;
    req.async = async;
    req.successCallback = callback;
    Spry.Utils.setOptions(req, opts);
    try
    req.xhRequest = Spry.Utils.createXMLHttpRequest();
    if (!req.xhRequest)
    return null;
    if (req.async)
    req.xhRequest.onreadystatechange = function() {
    Spry.Utils.loadURL.callback(req); };
    req.xhRequest.open(req.method, req.url, req.async,
    req.username, req.password);
    if (req.headers)
    for (var name in req.headers)
    req.xhRequest.setRequestHeader(name, req.headers[name]);
    req.xhRequest.send(req.postData);
    if (!req.async)
    Spry.Utils.loadURL.callback(req);
    catch(e) { req = null; Spry.Debug.reportError("Exception
    caught while loading " + url + ": " + e.message); }
    return req;
    Apparently running (req.xhRequest.send(req.postData);) in IE
    will throw an error if the requested page throws an error status
    code. This causes the try/catch in the Spry function to catch the
    IE error and never allows my own error handler to run. Hopefully a
    fix for this will be in the works because I really like the idea of
    being able to use my own error handler.
    --------Edited after initial post.--------
    Ok, I figured out another item of interest. My requests
    earlier were set to "async = false". If I set "async = true" then
    it does work. I realized that because I was using sychronous mode
    and IE was throwing the error, it was preventing the call to the
    "Spry.Utils.loadURL.callback" method from occuring, while asynch
    mode uses the onreadystatechange to call the function and thus
    causes my own error handler to function. I am still interested to
    know if there is a bug here somewhere and if it is just IE or Spry
    or both. Looking forward to reading any posts.

    Hi WraithBudde,
    Thanks for all the details. In my opinion this is indeed a
    bug in Spry for the synchronous case. I'll file a bug and fix it.
    > You know you love me.
    Heh, yeah, I love anybody who takes the time to report bugs
    ... especially when they've narrowed it down to the exact set of
    lines in the source.
    Once again ... THANKS!

  • Swing application with network event handling

    Hello, hope this is the right place for this post. I'm the design phase of a client application in java which talks to a remote server written in C via sockets. I have a design problem: I want my Swing app to have a GUI with buttons and all for normal activities, which activities report to the server, and I want the client to react to server calls anytime without interrupting normal GUi activities. Plus, all must work together, so I would prefer having a single thread for the app. (Think of an IRC client: the user uses the GUI for activities and sendim messages, and meanwhile the client listens for messages from the server and display them as they arrive). My question is: is this possible?
    I have something like (in pseudo-java):
    classMyApp extends JFrame {
      public MyApp() {
        // Manages and create the GUI
        NetHandler h = new NetHandler(this);
        h.connect();
        while(true) {
          h.pollNetEvents();
    class NetHandler {
      private BufferedReader iStream;
      private PrintWriter oStream;
      private MyApp app;
      public NetHandler(MyApp a) {
        app = a;
        Socket socket = createSocket(ip, port);
        iStream = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(socket.getInputStream()));
        oStream = new PrintWriter(socket.getOutputStream());
        handshakeWithServer(); // Login & Password
      public pollNetEvents() {
        try {
          String s;
          for (;;) {
            s = iStream.readLine();
            if (s.equals("") == false)
              break;
            else
              app.parseCommand(s);
        catch (IOException e) {
          app.sendMessage("Error in pollNetEvent: " + e);
    }Roughly, something like this. With this solution the GUI works, but I cannot get the message the server sends.
    I hope my message is clear enough. Can anybody help me with the design of my app? Thanks a lot.
    Fabio.

    You might consider posting this in the Swing forum. You might get a more complete response there, but here are my first thoughts.
    -- I think you will end up wanting to use multiple threads, but only one thread will update the UI. For more about threading in Swing, see this tutorial: http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/misc/threads.html
    and maybe also here: http://www.sourcebeat.com/TitleAction.do?id=10 (look at the sample chapter on Threads)
    -- For the polling code ...
    Of course, if you use the classes provided for client/server communication described below, you don't need to write your own polling code. You may still wish worry about threading so that your UI remains responsive and does not encounter major issues: http://java.sun.com/developer/JDCTechTips/2005/tt0419.html#1
    -- Updates to the UI from thread(s) that are not on the Event Dispatch Thread (the one that controls the UI) must be posted using the SwingUtilities methods, such as invokeLater

  • What is the problem with this event handler in LabView 8.0?

    Please find attached a copy of a simple Event Structure VI. Can anyone please tell me why the Pos 0, Pos 1, Pos 2 work fine, but Pos 3 does Not????? It works in Version 7.1 of Labview, but Not in version 8.0. Any help here would be appreciate
    Everything is Free! Until you have to pay for it.
    Attachments:
    ValChgEventBug.vi ‏29 KB

    Hi,
    It doesn't work because the logic is flawed.  If you run the VI in Execution-Highlight mode you will see that for a value-change of, say, 7.0, all the cases (except the first one) are True!  And since there is no data dependency, whatever case executes last will set the final position.
    You will want to change the logic to check if the value falls in a range, rather than just being greater than something.  For isntance, the psuedo-code would be:
    "go to position 2 IF value >= 4  AND < 6"
    You are missing the "AND" part.  Hope this helps.

  • Drop Down List in ALV with Event handler

    Hi All ,
    I have created an ALV grid with a dropdown as one of the columns. This all works fine, except that I want to be able to react to a change in the value of each line's dropdown the next column values should change according to the user selection in the 1st column .
    Is this possible?
    As an example, I have a table of records with one column as a dropdown called " Replace Function Module "   and in 2nd column i have call function of that Replace Function Module , If a  change in " Replace Function Module " should change the call function of in the 2nd column .
    I am using these objects lvc_t_drop , lvc_s_drop and  the method  " set_drop_down_table ",
    Please Can any 1 tel me how to do this with any event handler ar any other way !

    Hi,
    You need to use event handler for this. Check if the below link gives some direction.
    [http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/cda3992d-0e01-0010-90b2-c4e1f899ac01|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/cda3992d-0e01-0010-90b2-c4e1f899ac01]
    I guess you should create a method inside which you call the FM using the FM name from the selected cell in ALV.
    I have not tried it out, but its worth a try.
    Hope this helps!

  • Event Handling with Java API.: Adding to a hierarchy table throws 2events

    I´m having some problems with the event handling. I´ve registered a Class with extends AbstractDataListener as EventListener. When there are changes in the product hierarchy table, some extra work should be done. However if i add a new record into the hierarchy, two events are fired.
    DEBUG DataEventListener.java:123 - Added:Development;PRODUCT_HIERARCHY;R17;Getra?nke, SEW
    DEBUG DataEventListener.java:123 - Added:Development;PRODUCT_HIERARCHY;R17;32 Zoll, B&R
    DEBUG DataEventListener.java:123 - Added:Development;PRODUCT_HIERARCHY;R18;56 Zoll, Lenze
    DEBUG DataEventListener.java:123 - Added:Development;PRODUCT_HIERARCHY;R18;20 Zoll, allgemein
    In this case, i added the records "32 Zoll, B&R" and then "20 Zoll, allgemein". As you can see in both cases two events are fired and the first event seems to come with wrong data. The reported id for the newly created record is R17. For the logging, i did lookup the entry in the hierarchy table by id and use the displayvalue of the record. But the first event always shows the displayvalue from some already existing entry.
    How can i avoid duplicate events or if this is not possible, how i can recognize that the display value of the first event is not valid.

    I have not tetsted it yet, because I'm waiting for my server to be updated, but SAP told me that the API version 5.5.42.67 should fix the problem.
    Thanks for your post.

  • OIM 11.1.1.5.0 - Pre process event handler

    Hi everyone, I'm trying to configure a preprocess event handler to automate email and user login when I click on "create user".
    I mean when I want to create a new user, I just want to fill the first name, the last name, the organization and the type and this preprocess will fill automatically the email and the user login fields. I don't know if it's possible or not with an event handler ?
    Thanks
    Thibault

    If you want this event handler only for manual user creation using UI then you can go with pre-process event handler. The advantage you get is, no need of refereshment. once user created email and user login field will be visible. But in case of post process you have to refresh it manaually. Yes, you have to use post process event handler if the same field you want to populate on Trusted recon as well. Beacause, Pre- process doesn't work with Trusted recon.
    Hope above will help you to decide for pre or post to use.
    Now, for registering plugin. Don't put jar in the zip, you have to place .class in case of event handler. jar we use for scheduled task. place your class file like below and zip
    lib/*package structure folder*/EmailLoginAuto.class
    ie lib/com/test/eventhandler/EmailLoginAuto.class
    for importing eventhandler.xml put it anywhere in your directory structure
    ex: /tmp/db/eventhandler.xml
    and update the from_location as /tmp in weblogic.properties
    --nayan

    I am trying to set username policy by implementing a validation event handler in OIM 11.1.1.5.
    Following are the steps followed
    1. Import metadata
    Created a file called Eventhandler.xml as below and imported using weblogicImportmetadata.sh
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
    <eventhandlers xmlns="http://www.oracle.com/schema/oim/platform/kernel" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.oracle.com/schema/oim/platform/kernel orchestration-handlers.xsd">
    <validation-handler class="test.iam.eventhandlers.CustomValidationEventHandler" entity-type="User" operation="CREATE" name="CustomValidationEventHandler" order="1000" sync="TRUE"/>
    </eventhandlers>
    2. Register plugin
    plugin.xml
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

    </plugins>
    </oimplugins>
    Just givng sys out in the below code to check whther it is getting triggerred during user create.

    I have implemented preprocess and postprocess event handler before with similar kind of plugin registration, metadata import and everything worked fine. Not sure what is the problem here with validation event handler.
    Thanks
    DK

    Instead of registering the plug-in can u try placing it in the plugins folder under Oracle_IDM1/server folder.
    at times restart is required. esp when the server is running in production mode.

  • Event handling in LOV

    Hi There,
    We have a use-case where we need intercept the event of af:inputComboboxListOfValues component.
    I have table, which has three columns, Name, Description and Label.
    I have a LOV on Name column.
    When user change the value of Name column by selecting an value from dropdown, I need to do business validation, I show user the "Yes/No" popup with warning message, and base on the user's choice, either proceed with the change or stop the change.
    My problem is that I am unable to find a appropriate event to show the popup.
    I know there are several events in the af:inputComboboxListOfValues component, launchPopupEvent, returnPopupEvent and valueChangeEvent.
    1. If I show popup on launchPopupEvent, after the user click "Yes/No" button on the popup, the page will be refreshed and dropdwon doesn't show the item list.
    2. returnPopupEvent and valueChangeEvent event will be handled by framework in one request, there is no chance for user's interaction.
    I am not familiar with ADF event handling machenism, can anyone help me?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    first of all, never post questions regarding internal JDeveloper builds (11.1.1.7 is not released to public) on this public forum. You are from Oracle and therefore have internal channels for this (note that using internal builds the problem could be with the build and not necessarily the code alone).
    To your question:
    I don't understand why
    +"2. returnPopupEvent and valueChangeEvent event will be handled by framework in one request, there is no chance for user's interaction."+
    doesn't work. If you set the "name" column component to autosubmit="true" then the listener fires as soon as you move out of the field and you can raise the alert. The current row in the binding points to the row you changed the name for and as such the value can be unset (the value change listener shows you the before and after value)

  • Event handling in Network UI element in Webdynpro

    Hi ,
       I am developing a hierarchial graph using Network UI element.I want to incorporate event handling so that the graph will respond to user actions like on double clicking a node an URL will be opened.I can notproceed with the event handling.
                         Can anyone tell me the procedure to do this from webdynpro java.
    Regards
    Nayeem

    Hi Nayeem,
    The Network UI element has lots of events defined for it which can be handled to get the desired functionality.
    Go to the View in which you have added the Network Element, select the Element and go to the
    properties tab.
    Under events , you can see a list of events defined for this UI element.
    Select the event you wish to handle and press the Create button which gets visible once
    an event say onNodeSelected is selected
    You can then give a name to the action say UserClicked and save it .
    In the properties tab of the UI element , the action will be registed against the event .
    Now select the event again and press the go button.
    It will redirect you to the java editor of the view where in you can place your event handling logic.
    Alternatively, if you have created the UI element dynamically then you can add the event to the UI element by using the following code
    IWDNetwork network = (IWDNetwork)view.createElement(IWDNetwork.class);
    network.setOnNodeSelected(/*Your Action handler already defined in the View*/);

  • Event handler problems

    Hi,
    I'm having problems with a event handler that I'm trying to create.
    I currently have 2 event handlers, one of which needs to only happen when Shift + a key is pressed. I currently have:
    function keypressedHandler(event:KeyboardEvent):void {      if ((event.shiftKey) + (event.keyCode == 81)) {        //something would happen      } }
    So my question is how can I get the shift function to work? It doesn't matter if it isn't shift but Alt or Ctrl would be the alternatives.
    Any help would be great,
    Thanks,

    You need the ampersand (&) instead of the plus sign to use the logical AND:
    stage.addEventListener( KeyboardEvent.KEY_DOWN, keypressedHandler )
    function keypressedHandler(event:KeyboardEvent):void
        if ((event.shiftKey) && (event.keyCode == 65))
            //something would happen
            trace( "shift and 65" )

  • OO event handling mechanism

    Java2 handles event with oo event handling mechanism ,
    can anybody here tell me some deficiency of this
    mechanism , and some thing about in VC ++?They're all based on variations of the MVC architecture. This stands for Model, View and Controller. The principle is simple. The idea is that you separate the internal program logic (the models) from what the users actually see on the screen (the views). The controller is the mechanism which ties models and views together reacting to user wishes (in the form of events like mouse clicks and pressed keys). It's often also called a listener.
    You'll have to draw a picture of how MVC is implemented in Java Swing and Visual C++ and then compare the implementations. You only benefit from the exercise if you do it yourself. Remember that MVC isn't part of Java or C++ but rather an OO design patter implemented on top of the language to handle the GUI.
