Would it be posibble to to connect to T440s two external displays using two display ports from new docking station ? Is there any limitation for max resolution ?

You mention support for 4k over the display port.  What about over HDMI for a 4k TV like this one?
http://www.amazon.com/Seiki-Digital-SE39UY04-39-Inch-Ultra/dp/B00DOPGO2G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1383...
I believe it just needs to support HDMI 1.4a out.  I also understand that HDMI 1.4a is limited to 4k @ 30hz only.
Can you confirm that the HDMI port on the highest end dock supports HDMI 1.4a and that 4k (at 30hz) will be supported?

  • New docking stations Basic, Pro and Ultra Docks

    Hi All,
Im new to these forums but wanted to see if any one else had had experience with the new docking stations. I just upgraded to a T440s which needed the new docking station... I had to get two of them for home and work. They are SO hard to put the PC in compared to the old series 3 docks for my old T410s... those things you did not even need to look when you put the PC down.. they just sliped in.. but the new ones, OMG each morning it takes me several tried to get them to dock.. I am thinking I am damaging the PC when I attempt to do this..
That being said, i am still a fan over EVERYTHING lenovo...
Any one else had similar experiences?
    Tom

Hi All, I just received my T440s along with the new Ultra Dock.  I have the T440s in the dock and connected to my TV used as monitor using HDMI cable.  I hit f7 and can do "PC screen/extend/duplicate/2nd screen only, no problem.  I chose the 2nd screen only for my work.  Then I finished work and close the lid but when I come back to restart the laptop, I can only see the display on the laptop and no matter how I toggle using f7, I cannot display anything on my TV.  The only way I can get back on track (2nd screen only mode) is to un-dock my laptop and hit f7 again.  I never experienced this with my T410 using the older dock.  Please help.

  • IPod freezes when playing from a docking station...Any ideas about a fix?

I have had my current iPod for a couple of years now, and until recently it has worked flawlessly. Over the past couple of months a problem has develoed when I play my iPod from a docking station. When I play the iPod from it's cradle (connected to my HK Soundsticks) or from my JBL Speaker Base, the iPod plays fine for the first few songs. After a few songs, the iPod stops in the middle of song and skips to the next song, then skips three of four times without playing at all and utltimately locks up completely. The problem seems to arise when I am simultaneously playing and charging.
    Any ideas?
    I am using a 40mb, clickwheel, iPod.

All I can suggest is to re-encode the video as m4v with QT Pro, there might've been a problem in encoding. Also, try sending this same video (setting TV Out to Yes) with the iPod not plugged into the dock and with an Apple RCA cable, if you have one, hooked up to a TV. If that works, the dock connector might be damaged (unlikely) but it's possible. So once you've re-encoded, see if the dock situation works then. Good luck.

  • HP Zbook 15, external monitor connected to docking station issue

    Dear all
I have bought a HP Zbook 15 laptop and installed Ubuntu 12.04. It does not show anything on the external monitor when I mount the laptop on the docking station.
After installing the Ubuntu 12.04 and putting it on the docking station for the first time, I got this problem:
"If an ACPI driver is available for this device, you should use it instead of the native driver". I have attached the whole log file. Then, I installed the latest Nvidia driver, and restarted the machine. This time, I do not see that error message; however, I cannot see anything on my external monitor which is connected to the docking station. Can you please tell me how to fix this problem?
    Best regards,
    Murtaza

@emeres: Sorry, yes, it's an HP 2013 UltraSlim Docking Station. I figured it was the only one compatible with the notebook model I provided.
Regarding any electrical circuitry or controls... well, sure, I'm assuming there's some circuitry in there
I'll give a whirl at using that two screen setup when I get a chance. I'm not inclined to think I need to hard-code it in a xorg conf file of some sort given that xrandr finds it just fine. I'm just perplexed by why it goes AWOL after one connect/disconnect. Now that you mention it, it could be the docking station internals, as I'm assuming most folks would be using this to plug in their computer, then completely remove it to go elsewhere, and then come back to their desk. Thus, they'd be physically disconnecting it vs. just toggling?
That said, I'm pretty sure I can use Windows Fn+F4 to toggle laptop vs. laptop + "projector" (what Win7 calls any external display) all day with no issues, so I'd think xrandr should be able to do the same?
Thanks for the input and links.

  • Dell Venue 11 Pro Tablet Docking Station - Dock Firmware won't update or output to any monitor

    Hi,
Just bought a Dell Venue 11 Pro Tablet Docking Station and it won't output to any monitor via HDMI or Displayport.
I've tried updating the firmware to V02 and V03. I get the message:
    Current On-Board Firmware is 0.41.9
Do you want to update with firmware version 0.41.23 (V03) 0.41.19 (V02)
When I select yes I get the following error:
Error: Please unplug the power connector from the Dell desktop dock for 15 seconds, then plug the power connector back into the Dell desktop dock and try again.
This I keep repeating but it will not update.
The model number of the dock is: K10A001.
The only other thing I notice is that the power adapter does not appear the same as any of the pictures I have seen and is a Dell 74VT4 (65w) which seems be for a Dell XPS 18 (1810).
Please help as I think this may need to be sent back.
    Thanks.

    Hello,
I've exactly the same problem. I've also the model number K10A001 and the current Firmware 0.41.9, and it is also not possible for me to flash the docking station.
This is also problematic because only one monitor of the two connected monitors works. An this monitor shows only a picture, if it is plugged, after the dockingstation and the Venue 11 Pro has been started.
I think there is maybe an improved flash utility required in order to allow to flash the docking station? If some one had succeeded please respond.
    Thank you

  • Hard Drive not recognized when booting from XP CD on docking station

The hard drive on my X60 failed to the point where I couldn't recover and reinstall the image. I have backups of all my data and a docking station so I didn't sweat it. Bought a new drive and installed it and this is when the trouble began.
I created an XP CD with SP2 slipstreamed in to make sure I have the latest drivers. I boot from XP CD and everything works until I try to install Windows. According to the installation CD there is no drive installed!
I reinstalled the drive to make sure and this time I booted off of Ubuntu Linux which installed flawlessly. That leads me to believe that  there is a driver problem with Windows.
I need help! I would like to install Windows on the machine but nothing I've tried works.

Standard Microsoft XP SP2 does not come with any SATA device drivers.
    You have two options:
Go into the T60 BIOS and switch the SATA controller mode away from AHCI to "IDE" mode (or pehaps its "legacy" or "compatibility" mode - I forget what specific term is used in a ThinkPad BIOS).
Find the SATA device driver for XP (it's probably in the Intel Chipset driver download) on the Lenovo X60 support web site, download it and install it using the additional driver installation option which is offered right at the start of an XP install.
If you chose option 1, remember to switch the SATA controller back to AHCI mode in the BIOS after you have installed the SATA device driver.
    Cheers,

  • I am having trouble getting my My Mac Book Pro 15" Retina to wake up with an Apple Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse while Docked in a Hengedock vertical docking station.

I am having trouble getting my My Mac Book Pro 15" Retina to wake up with an Apple Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse while Docked in a Hengedock vertical docking station. The Keyboard and mouse work great with the laptop lid open but when closed in the docking station the bluetooth signal does not seem to transmit.  Is there a setting that can be changed to allow an Bluetooth keyboard and mouse to wake the computer while docked?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • Are there any MBA "Docking Stations"?

Would like to use my MBA as a desktop system while at home. Looking for a docking station that is made for the MBA. Anyone see any options?
I would like one that holds the closed lid MBA so I can just run off the external display to save the MBA screen some life as I will use it for hours at home. Maybe running closed lid will keep the built in display live longer.
    tj

Like ahostmadsen, when I am working in my home-office I connect my MBA:
    - via USB socket to a powered USB hub which is connected to a Lacie hard drive, Lacie DVD/CD writer, iPhone
    - via the Micro DVI port to a Sony 19" external monitor
    - via bluetooth to a cordless mouse
    - via airport express to my hi-fi and a colour printer
The three cables that connect to the MBA (power lead, USB and VGA) are bound together for convenience. I use a second power cable when travelling.
This arrangement works well for and my desk is relatively uncluttered.

  • I have just got a iPod 5 gen 32gb and lightning adapter but can't get it to work with my docking station it will charge but not play audio please help??

I have bought a 5th gen iPod and lightning adapter but it won't wrk on my docking station it charges but doesn't play audio? Please help

Does the dock manufacture say it is compatible with the 5G iPod with iOS 6.0.1?
Have you went to the manufacturer's support site? Contacted them?
Try resetting the dock. How you do that depends upon the dock
    Sometimes this works
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

I have an 80GB iPod which charges and looks to play tunes though nothing comes out of ear phones, speakers or docking stations. Can you please help me fix this?

    Hello lowe-m1,

    The headphones don't work
If your iPod's headphones don't work or have static or garbled audio, try connecting them to any other 3.5 mm stereo headphone jack, like the one on your computer. If the issue with the headphones persists, replace them. For an iPod under warranty, you can order a replacement online. Otherwise, check out the cool headphones at theApple Online Store. If the issue appears to be with the iPod, try resetting it. If that doesn't work, then restore iPod with the latest iPod software using iTunes 7 or later.
    Have a nice day,
    Mario

  • How do I add Firefox to my docking station so I don't have to open every time I click on the icon?

Firefox 3.6 was on my docking station on my mac all this time. When I saw the pop up for Firefox 4 and its features, I downloaded v.4 this morning but when I try to open the browser, I always have to go through the same step of "opening" the newer version rather having the browser open automatically.

    Hi JoAnn,
After you opened the download, you should see a small window with a blue background showing a Firefox 4 icon and an "Applications" icon.
Quit out of all versions of Firefox, then find that window and drag the Firefox icon into the Applications icon. (This moves the new version into your Applications folder).
Once that's done, then clicking the icon on your Dock should launch the new version from the Applications folder.
    Hope that helps,

  • Dual monitor setup with Docking station and W500 on windows 8

    Hi there
    I have a w500 with ATI Radeon 3650
Trying hard to have it set up with windows 8 and two monitors with my docking station. It worked with XP, Vista, W7...but no go now.
Any solutions out there? I don't care about catalyst control center, or which drivers I have to use, just give me back my two monitors connected to a docking station

I have the same W500 setup and have had no luck finding Windows 8 drivers on Lenovo's site or AMD's. I have a support ticket in to Lenovo to see what they come up with. I have two flat panel monitors that I need to work. According to  MS, Catalyst Control Center has compatibility issues with Win8. It was easy to set up both monitors under Win7 with CCC. I have not been able to set them up using Windows display setting in Control Panel. Does anyone out there know of an app that I can use to replace CCC and run two monitors?
