It seems, that I found solution, but I can´t install this fix. It says that this update is not applicable for this computer.
Any suggestions?

  • T500 Driver crash problem, for all upgrading owners

To all the T500 Owners who have upgraded to windows 7. There is one major problem hindering a lot of t500 owners. Someone mentioned earlier in this thread to download the catalyst 9.9 drivers from ATI.  Everything else has worked great and all the drives have automatically been updated smoothly.
They install properly but after a restart this is what happens as mentioned by another user
"Hi I have a big problem with my lenovo T500. I installed Windows 7 RC x64 to my lenovo T500 (2082-53G) and when I install the ATI catalyst beta driver v9.9 from ATI's homepage, my computer freezes at startup (some activity on HD but I can't move my mouse and many processes faile to start at boot). I'm not the only one facing this problem: Lenovo T500 Thinkpad - WDM Radeon 3650 Driver Update Causes Screen to Freeze"
I have the exact same problem.... have formatted twice already, gone into safe mode, theres no getting around this problem.
Any help? I have the 32 bit version of windows 7 enterprise 90 day trial.
I know we might not be able to swtich the graphic cards, but at the very least we should be able to pick one in bios and  be forced to use that.  At this point its not even allowing me to install the discrete driver.

    Hi SuperWoofer,
Thanks for your sharing. You're very helpful indeed! =)

  • T500 display adapter problem on Windows Server 2008

    Hello,
I recently got T500 and if I understand this correctly, it comes with two display adapters,
    - ATI Mobility HD Radeon 3650
    - Intel Mobility 4 Series Express Chipset Family.
    I installed Windows Server 2008.
Now my problem is that I can't install ATI Mobility HD Radeon 3650 driver but only able to installed Intel Mobility 4 series Express Chipset Family driver.  Funny thing is that I tried to install the ATI Catalyst Manager, but it's not installing.  I know it is not installing because when I right click on the desktop, I don't see an entry for "ATI Catalyst Manager" and if I go to C:\Program Files\ATI Technology folder, it is empty.
My another problem (main) is the screen turns itself on/off several times and I get "display driver igfx stopped responding and has successfully recovered" error message, and then I see a "fuzzy screen" which requires me to forcefully shut the computer off (by pressing power button).
I tried to install the driver manually on Device manager, but still no luck.
Anyone had same problem and maybe have a solution?
    Thanks.

how did you install the drivers? lenovo-download drivers doesn't necessarily install themselves, but annoyingly merely extracts them to a folder.
or, more simply, use system update to install all the drivers

  • T500 W WAN questions

It's time to regale you all again with my overly-annoying basic questions!
according to Lenovo, my T500 is 'Mobile broadband ready'. Does this mean I can shove in any WWAN card and expect it to work? Or will only the Lenovo-supplied cards (like the ones for sale in the online store) work? Does the antenna come pre-installed?
    Thanks.
    CJ

The WWAN antennas are pre-installed in a 'Mobile broadband ready' ThinkPad, and you will definitely need to use a Lenovo supplied WWAN card.
I can personally confirm that the Ericsson WWAN card available through the Lenovo Australia web site does work well in a T400 2764CTO with the Telstra Mobile Broadband Next G service (note this is NOT the Bigpond Next G service).

  • Windows server 2003 Remote desktop over WAN problem.

Ok so problem is there is a 2003 windows server in my office. Any computer phone etc. can connect to it via Remote desktop if they are in the LAN network. I have port forwarded 3389 , disabled firewalls , there is no antivirus software on the server.
BUT I cannon log in over WAN. Heres the problem.
I type in the WAN ip I connect with credentials.
    This is what i get:
    Connecting...
    Negotiating credentials...
Then it just suddenly force closes.
Also tried from a Windows 8 PC , when trying to connect it INSTANTLY throws me an error saying:
This computer cant connect to the remote computer. If the problem continues contact etc..
No matter where i try , a pc , a laptop , a phone , a tablet it just force closes. I can see that the devices are able to see the server and are trying to connect , but the connection just force closes for no reason and no error is shown. Also I dont see
anything in the event viewer on the server. The credentials are correct also. And the port is forwarded correctly.
    Where could the problem be?

    Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
As you have commented that you have forwarded port correctly at windows end, but still suggest you to check whether you have port forwarded on Router which you are using for WAN connections.
Can your local system can make successful ping to the remote server from WAN connections?
For testing you can telnet <router ip> 3389 and if you get blank screen then it confirm that port has been forwarded.
It might happens that there is port assignment conflict taken place, so check with “netstat –a –o” and see port 3389 is not being used by other application, if that is the case then change the port.
You can refer following article for more troubleshooting steps (Point 2)

There is a fundamental problem in the design of this network and to fix it the original poster will need to implement a different design. The problem is fundamentally that this is an attempt to have the same layer 2 vlan in two different places connected by a layer 3 connection. And that does not work.
Perhaps the simple way to illustrate the problem is to think of a PC connected to the vlan on router 1. Perhaps it has IP address of 192.168.1.50. And it wants to communicate with a PC connected to the vlan on router 2 and perhaps this PC has IP address of 192.168.1.150. For them to communicate PC 1 must ARP for PC 2. But the ARP is a broadcast packet and router 1 does not forward a broadcast from a vlan over the serial interface. So PC 2 never receives the ARP from PC 1 and they can not communicate.
The easy solution to this problem is to make the IP subnets different on each side of the serial connection. Perhaps Router 1 could have networks 192.168.1.0 and 192.168.2.0 while router 2 has networks 192.168.11.0 and 192.168.12.0.
If the original poster really needs the same vlan on both sides of the serial connection then he needs to implement a technology like l2tpv3 which does provide the ability to connect a layer 2 network accross a layer 3 connection. See this link for some information about this

  • T500 Keyboard flex problem

After comparing a few laptops I decided to buy a Lenovo T500 (2082-8WG), convinced of the unbeatable quality and support.
However, I was unpleasantly surprised by the flex keyboard (left site), like mentioned already here on several posts.
Is there still a possibility to receive a better keyboard or the brackets to solve my problem? I am from the Netherlands, and I did not see anyone else with this problem from my country on this forum.

Windows 7 & switchable graphics aren't playing nice right now.  I'll blame it on the ATI drivers, but it might be a BIOS issue, since the most recent BIOS says that switchable is only available for Vista.

  • RS54GS WAN problems

    Hi guys,
The RS54GS has been working great for me so far (great product guys). However, recently after connecting my ADSL modem up to the router I've been having some intermittent problems.
    My setup is as follows:
     4 LAN connections< ---> RS54GS <---> 1 WLAN connection
                                            ^
                                            |
     Alcatel Speedtouch Home ADSL modem
Now all the connections are fine except for the WAN connection to the Alcatel Speedtouch Home ADSL modem.  Every once in a while it drops out. I have to reset the router before the WAN connection comes back on.
Before this the modem was connected to a gateway computer and the network connection between the gateway and the modem never switched off like what is happening now between the modem and the RS54GS so I don't think it's the modem. Furthermore I've tried 3 sets of working cables and all have had the same problems.
Usually the dropouts seem to occur when I try to surf the internet after long periods of inactivity.
Here is the event log for when this WAN dropout occurs and when it comes back up. It just says PPPoE connection is down when the WAN drops out.

scratch that about the WAN going down after long periods of inactivity. It just seems to be outright random.
It just dropped out twice in 5 mins just now.
I solved the same lockout problem connecting ADSL modem to one of the LAN ports of Wireless Gateway. I lost firewall capabilities of WG but got great stability. Now I'm running 24h web and mail server over 300 meters wireless.

  • T500/Win7 - software problems, support is a joke

    Hi all,
    I have T500, with Win7, model number 2082.
From the beginning I have problems with switchable graphics, when ATI card is active, putting laptop to sleep and I can't get it running again, screen is completely black, like without power.
Second, RnR is stuck at the beginning at 0% and there is no way to make it run.
I reinstalled ATI drivers, power management drivers, RnR, nothing of this helped.
Most annoying thing is - I called Polish Lenovo support several times, they told me to:
    - send them laptop to hardware repair, which takes up to 3 weeks. Since hardware is working, I see no logic behind this.
    - reinstall OS - for what, those two issues are there from the beginning?
    - nobody asked even once for any logs nor suggested any corrective actions.
I'm wondering, is this problem specifically in my country you noticed it as well for other countries? This kind of support is some joke, they'll do nothing to help with premium, highly expensive hardware.
Is it time to forget about Thinkpad brand and legendary reliability and switch to Dell, HP, etc..?

As I have very sadly learned, no, your experience is not unique, and I can completely empathize. Even the USA, Lenovo will not support any factory-installed software, neither their own, nor Windows 7 (and Microsoft charges $60/question because they insist it is Lenovo's responsibility to support W7 in their machines under an OEM license, which Lenovo denies), and this peer-to-peer forum is their customers' sole source of software "support." And seeing as it has been over a week since you posted, I think you already know how "well" that works...
Sorry I can't help with your issues; feel like I'm drowning still just trying to figure out what all the physical features on my Thinkpad are after over a month (even though the tech lines are supposed to be for hardware support, they can never seem to accurately explain what my physical hardware features are, much less how to use them, or where I can get the information to see for myself; since my computer came with absolutely no instruction manuals or feature guides, and none come up on the Lenovo website after I enter all my model info), much less what even a tenth of the software is supposed to do. I just wanted to you to know you're not alone in your frustration with lack of support.

  • T500 + ericsson F3507g

I bought my t500 when it was few months old and I have been using it over a year. Yesterday I decided to remove intel turbo memory chip, because after installing a SSD it was really slowing down boot time. So I took a look into a HW maintenance guide, took a screwdriver and opened the computer. And then, what a suprise: I found an ericsson F3507g card installed. I didn't know I had one, because it never showed in device manager. I'm using win7 64bit.
I tried installing drivers, etc., but keep geting the same error: Mobile broadband device not found.Windows simply doesn't find it.
