Hello I have a T61p 6459 cto And haveing an issue where my UltraNav isn't loading when i go to mouse properties I currently use the red "dot" thing in the middle of the key board and wish to turn the touch pad off however the program that allowed me to do that no longer is available , I tried to reinstate the drivers by redownloading them however it says they are not found so i was wondering what i could do to resolve this issue. • Help with Java program and PKGBUILD

    Hey guys, I'm fairly new to Arch and very new to making packages. I write a lot of my stuff in Java, and I know that Java is normally a pain to package on Linux systems. I have had a good look at the Java Packaging Guidelines, http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Jav … Guidelines and I see that it says about not bothering compiling from Java source and just provide the JARs (am I correct?). So my question is, if I were to make a PKGBUILD for my Java based program, would the build() block just basically create the folders in the filesystem and move the content (JARs etc) to the folders? And then create the shell script in the appropriate location?
    Forgive me I have the completely wrong idea...
    Many thanks

    You can't really believe that his brother did this
    for him...I did miss that copyright line at the beginning when
    I first looked it over, but you know, if it had been
    his brother, I'd be kinda impressed. This wasn't a
    25 line program. It actually would have required
    SOME thought. I doubt my brother woulda done that
    for me (notwithstanding the fact that I wouldn't need
    help for that program, and my brother isn't a
    programmer).I originally missed the comments at the top but when I saw the complexity of what was written then I knew that it was too advanced for a beginner and I relooked through the code and saw the comments.

  • Help with Paint program.

    Hello. I am somewhat new to Java and I was recently assigned to do a simple paint program. I have had no trouble up until my class started getting into the graphical functions of Java. I need help with my program. I am supposed to start off with a program that draws lines and changes a minimum of 5 colors. I have the line function done but my color change boxes do not work and I am able to draw inside the box that is supposed to be reserved for color buttons. Here is my code so far:

    // There is no provided student version for starting, nor are there

  • Help with X-Fi and DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 Sli-D AMD64 3

    I installed the new card, and neither Win2000 or XP-64 would make it to the boot screen. I ugraded my bios to the latest and then Win2000 said there was a problem with the APCI or APIC? XP-64 still would not boot. I then installed a beta Bios, same issue, plus now my system hangs up when I boot without the card in (So I am off to reinstall the old bios).
    Memory is DDR3500, two SATA Hard Dri'ves (not raid'd), and Radion X800 PCIe card. No prior sound card installed.
    I installed the card in a Asus P4-3000 system and it ran flawless.

    Good grief..... I had Win2K up and running with no conflicts, sound worked etc. Settled down to play some EQII and it said that I did not have DX9.0c installed (which I had installed months ago). So I reinstalled 9.0c twice, Dxdiag says not a problem. So I made sure that that my video card had the latest drivers, and then unistalled all SB programs and drivers and went for a minimum driver re-install. Microsoft tells me that none of the drivers off of the XFi CD are not Digitally Signed. So I installed them anyway and no change. So off I go into the re-format the hard dri've(s) world. I am contemplating adding another SATA hard dri've and installing XP-32, then I can try three operating systems to make this work.
    My other XFi card, in my MP3 Server, works worderful, and is currently annoying the neighbors. But that is an Intel 32 bit system.
    Having said all that, I have been running my gaming AMD XP64 system flawlessly since March until yesterday.

  • Need help with Automating Printer and LPR installation

    I work for someone who has a need for automating the print installation of LPR print port to mac laptops. Obviously this will need to cover anything OS X 10.3 and above. All of this needs to be done command line via a batch file of sorts.
    I am a windows and Linux guy, however I just bought a Mac and starting to like the new Leopard OS and the capabilities of boot camp.
    What I need:
    1) how to install LPR port to the laptop
    2) installing a printer from a some sort of cab file with correct port and drivers. (in windows we use print migrator, however the cab files we use for windows will obviously not work with different port types and drivers)
    3) finally some clean up type script that will clean up any temp files I had to create or such.
    I kind of need this soon so if anyone knows how or could point me in the right direction. It would be greatly appreciated.

    If you force restart the computer on the freeze up, or force quit the printer adding window, does the printer appear in the print and scan system preference?   In other words, did the printer successfully install?  (is it possible that the setup part of the install failed, but the actual install worked?)
    If so, you might be able to set the configurations yourself.
    Open up the print and scan system preference.  Double click on the printer.
    When the printer queue window opens up, you should be able to click on the printer setup button.
    Go through all the tabs and set things up the way you like.

  • Help with wireless router and usb adapter

    I have a model WRT54G2V1 and a USB adapter. They were working fine until about 3 months ago, then suddenly I couldn't connect to the internet. I began using my wife's computer for my email. I have a web site that I need to update.  I spent 2-hours with Tech support today and they could not help me. The error messages say "cannot find access point" and then sometimes "cannot connect to internet". I think it may be my computer, but am very unsure. I have unistalled and reinstalled with no luck. Can anyone help me, please? I'm lost and not good with this stuff. Thanks.

    In your computer click on "start" then "connect to" then "show all connections".  You should be seeing two icons under "lan or high speed internet"  Your wireless connection should showing a blue screen while the lan should be greyed out.  If the lan is showing a blue screen right click on it and click on disable.  Now try to connect using your wireless adaptor.  If it did not work go to #2.
    Disconnect wireless adaptor then go into programs and uninstall wireless adaptor program.  Reconnect wireless adaptor to computer.  The "found new hardware" should appear.  Run the wizard and when it asks for drivers insert Linksys cd.  Try to connect.  You may have to click on repair if you don't succeed then try again.  Go to #3
    Powercycle your router. Try to connect.  I have three computers connected wirelessly and the one farthest away from the router has problems connecting.  Usually this solves the problem.

And also consists of 2 while loops, the first while loop basically displays the raw data, the second loop eventually will display processed data, but this will only take place when told to start by the push button connected to the case loop. the problem is that when i start the second loop and then go to stop it it keeps on running even when the case loop is false, any help greatly appreciated(also had help with a labview engineer, but could not solve it).
    The other way about going around this is to separate the 2 loops into separate vis. Is it possible to use the first loop as the top level vi and if i press a button on the toplevel front
    panel vi, the front panel of the second loop program pops up. Any info on this greatly appreciated.
    Thanks Stuart

    I have created another update to your example showing how you can have the xy graph popup in another window. This time it is in a library as there are now 2 VIs. Again i cant test it as i dont have Fieldpoint, but *crosses fingers* it should work. Basically i have moved the inner while loop into it's own VI, linked it to the controls feeding it, and placed it into the main case structure. This subVI has also had it's properties changed so that it opens when called and closes afterwards, so you do not need to open it manually when you start.
    As to what i use for my interface, i guess you mean interface with instruments?...Well i use drivers. And if i dont have drivers, i write them. To be honest, i dont really know what Fieldpoint does, so mayb
    e you can enlighten me there..
    Good luck with the PhD Chemists..working in a university myself i have an idea what it must be like for you!

  • Hello I have a few questions and I need some help with my iTunes and  iPod

    Hello iTunes people.
    I have a little problem with my iTunes. I actually almost know nothing about iTunes really. But I have had a 80 gig ipod .. ummm I think it's a iPod classic maybe. A long time ago I just downloaded iTunes. I think one of my tech friends already had put the program onto my PC so I did not even have to download it. Anyways I put my life's collection of mp3's onto iTunes and then syncs it with my iPod and it worked great. Here is my problem. I just recently bought a MONSTER PC. I have lovingly named it " ED209 " I downloaded iTunes for it and I have the most up to date version.8.1.1 is the most current version correct? Ok well here is my problem. What I want to do is I want to put everything that is currently on my iPod ONTO the iTunes library. I DO NOT want to import anything from the library or playlist or whatever you call it ONTO the iPod because there is nothing in the library. Now this is were its gets weird and possibly silly. A person I was chatting with on Facebook sort of made fun of me because she was like " Dude! Just push " Sync " But the reason I am paranoid is because THIS is the message I get....
    " The iPod " Aaron's iPod " is synced with another iTunes library. Do you want to erase this ipod and sync with this iTunes library? "
    HOLY COW!! That girl on Facebook was making fun of me but READ THAT. That exactly says ERASE the "iPod" and Sync with THIS library " It does not say put what is ON the iPod into THIS Library. It says it the other way around. Clear as day it says it will ERASE the " Ipod " it does not say " Fill the library with whats on your iPod "
    Do I all of a sudden not understand English or something???? I know how to freaking read and from what it says is sounds a 100 percent like " we will ERASE youe iPod and put everything from this playist or library onto your iPiod" But there is NOTHING in my library? Am I mentally challenged or what?
    I hope someone can help me here and I have another request. Could someone just tell me all the cool things I can do with iTunes and my iPod? I am trying to read the help files and the FAQ and whatever else Apple provides you with but it has SO MUCH crap that looks usless. I find myself reading a whole paragraph about some simple little section of s section of a section of a feature! Know what I mean. Someone give me the long and short of the neat things I can do with this stuff. I have windows Vista with a wicked computer that has like 6 gigs of ram and m iPod is a 80 GB Classic
    help !!

    *What I want to do is I want to put everything that is currently on my iPod ONTO the iTunes library.*
    1). Connect your iPod to your computer. When you get the message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod.
    2). When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that will let you continue to use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default: Managing content manually on iPod and iPhone
    3). Once you are connected and your iPod is safely in manual mode there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. iTunes will only let you copy your purchases directly from an iPod to the computer, you'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
    For everything else (music from CDs, other downloads and including iTunes purchases) there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:
    Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    Comparison of iPod managers
    A selection of iPod to iTunes utilities:
    TuneJack Windows Only (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
    SharePod Windows Only (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
    iPod2PC Windows Only
    iDump Windows Only
    YamiPod Mac and Windows
    iPod Music Liberator Mac & Windows
    Floola Mac & Windows
    iPodRip Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
    iPod Music Liberator Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
    Music Rescue Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
    iGadget Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
    iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
    iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
    TouchCopy Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
    There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
    4). Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync.
    5). I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive

  • Need help with inverter program

    I am very new to labview and I need a lot of help fast. I have been given this vi program, which I have attached, that operates a bunch of inverters. The program is driving the inverter which in turn drives the agitator on a washing machine. The agitator goes in forward and reverse direction as a result of a relay within the inverter being supplied voltage to make it open and close. I need to supply voltage to the relay to make it go forward, reverse, and the pause before the next cycle begins. The current program has it doing a forward reverse and then immediately starts the next cycle. If any one can take a look at this program and let me know, first of all what the heck is going on, and second how to fix my problem, that would be incredibly helpful to me. If anyone has trouble opening the file let me know, I think attaching the vi should work but it may also look for a dll file or something when trying to open. Email me if you cannot open the file and I will send you the dll file as well. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

    Hello Tony,
    you programmed it to run continously...
    After the timed while loop runs through your array of ramp values you start again at index 0 (upper shift register). Instead of this end this while loop by combining the output from the comparison with your stop2 button (end loop when stop2 OR end of arrray). Now it will work.
    Btw. why do you use "Insert to Array" when you want to concat 3 arrays (sequence frame 0)? Just use a "Build Array" and set "Concat Inputs" via mouse right-click.

  • Need Help With Shell Programming

    Hi, I need some guidance as to how to approach my project.
    I need to develop a shell to host an e-learning environment that can be accessed through the internet. The user, preferably, needs not to download anything to run/start the e-learning environment. This e-learning environment allows users/students to create a forum, create a chatroom, hand up projects, send mail, do surveys and tutorials online and these can be submitted to the teacher/marker and receive feedback and also view their grades and schedule. Eg, Blackboard http://www.blackboard.com/
    The problem is is that there seems to be no shell programming by using java. I have found only shell programming using UNIX, korn and C. I read other posts in the forums here concerning shell programming and alot of the codes include the first 2 lines :
    Runtime rt = Runtime.getRuntime();
    String command = "your_shell_script_command";
    try {
          Process process = rt.exec(command);
         from = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(process.getInputStream()));
         to = new PrintWriter(process.getOutputStream(), true);
    catch (IOException e) {         ...       }the above codes were taken from this post: http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=57&thread=352231
    Does it means that I need to use another language besides Java to program a shell and then run it together with my java program? If so, what language do I need to learn and what Java "component" do I need to use? and is it possible to run a shell in an applet, since the applet is viewable through a browser?
    I really need some help on this problem as I don't have a clue to go about it at all. Thanks in advance.

    er, actually the applet does not seem to load at all.
    But from what you have written, yeah, I need to
    process the user's input and in my case, his
    selected/choosen options in a menu.
    E.g, the user wants to create a forum, he/she chooses
    the create forum option from the menu which is part of
    the shell and something happens which allows the user
    to customise the forum.
    So, let me get this straight, I can create an applet
    and run the shell on the applet and the user can view
    this application without downloading anything? As YAT said...providing they have the java plugin...yes... if you keep it to java.applet.Applet (AWT) and not JApplet, you should even have more users able to run it without 'downloading' anything..
    Now..to be clear... they ARE downloading your .class files, and running them within a JVM on their own local machine... But they will not need anything (assuming their browser supports the Java version you write in) else...

  • Newbie needing help with code numbers and if-else

    I'm 100% new to any kind of programming and in my 4th week of an Intro to Java class. It's also an on-line class so my helpful resources are quite limited. I have spent close to 10 hours on my class project working out P-code and the java code itself, but I'm having some difficulty because the project seems to be much more advanced that the examples in the book that appear to only be partly directly related to this assignment. I have finally come to a point where I am unable to fix the mistakes that still show up. I'm not trying to get anyone to do my assignment for me, I'm only trying to get some help on what I'm missing. I want to learn, not cheat.
    Okay, I have an assignment that, in a nutshell, is a cash register. JOptionPane prompts the user to enter a product code that represents a product with a specific price. Another box asks for the quanity then displays the cost, tax and then the total amount plus tax, formatted in dollars and cents. It then repeats until a sentinel of "999" is entered, and then another box displays the total items sold for the day, amount of merchandise sold, tax charged, and the total amount acquired for the day. If a non-valid code is entered, I should prompt the user to try again.
    I have this down to 6 errors, with one of the errors being the same error 5 times. Here are the errors:
    C:\PROGRA~1\XINOXS~1\JCREAT~1\MyProjects\Sales.java:50: 'else' without 'if'

    And finally, here is my code. Please be gentle with the criticism. I've really put a lot into it and would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.
    import java.text.NumberFormat; // class for numeric formating from page 178
    import javax.swing.JOptionPane; // class for JOptionOPane

    //main method begins execution ofJava Application

    // convert itemString to double
    item = Double.parseDouble ( itemString );
    // loop until sentinel value read from user

    "Item Code", JOptionPane.INFORMATION_MESSAGE );
    } // end if
    } // end while
    // get quantity of item user
    itemString = JOptionPane.showInputDialog(
    "Enter quantity:" );
    // convert quantityString to int
    quantity = Double.parseDouble ( quantityString );
    // add quantity to quantity
    quantity = quantity + quantity;
    // calculation time! value
    value = quantity * item;
    // calc tax
    tax = value * .07;
    // calc total
    total = tax + value;
    //add totals to counter
    totValue = totValue + value;
    totTax = totTax + tax;
    totTotal = totTotal + total;
    // display the results of purchase
    JOptionPane.showMessageDialog( null, "Amount: " + value +
    "\nTax: " + tax + "\nTotal: " + total, "Sale", JOptionPane.INFORMATION_MESSAGE );
    // get next code from user
    itemString = JOptionPane.showInputDialog(
    "Enter item code:" );
    // If sentinel value reached
    if ( item == 999 ) {
    // display the daily totals
    JOptionPane.showMessageDialog( null, "Total amount of items sold today: " + quantity +
    "\nValue of ites sold today: " + totValue + "\nTotal tax collected today: " + totTax +
    "\nTotal Amount collected today: " + totTotal, "Totals", JOptionPane.INFORMATION_MESSAGE );
    System.exit( 0 ); // terminate application
    } // end sentinel
    } // end message
    } // end class Sales

    Here you go. I haven't tested this but it does compile. I've put in a 'few helpful hints'.
