Tab control list mode in vertical direction

I know the default tab control is list in horizontal direction , if i set the tab location to "Left" , the tab text also change it to vertical , how can i set it stay in horizontal direction

You can't have them horizontally, and I don't remember ever seeing a single program in which they are, but you can achieve the same effect by hiding the tabs altogether and using a listbox to control which page you're displaying. In fact, if you have many tab pages, you may want to consider abandoning the tab control and moving each page into a separate VI. The tab is then replaced with a subpanel in which you display the current VI, based on the listbox. You can see an example of this design if you open the LabVIEW options dialog.

Using a jQuery list box placed onto a tab control doesn't seem to work for posting?

I developed a U.I. in Dreamweaver for a product and have several list boxes that use the onChange modifier to collect what the user selects from the list. I use the onChange=this.form.submit() function to grab the user's selection from the list box..
When this dropdown list box code is placed onto a form, it posts properly and I can retrieve the user's list selection. If however I place the list box code onto a Tab page from a jQuery Tab Control, developed in Dreamweaver, the posting doesn't seem to work.
I must be missing something because identical code is working fine when the list box code is placed on a form yet when the code is repeated from within a Tab, it isn't working.
The code is simple, and shown below). The list values are coming from a MySQL table.

Tab control and Multiline mode property

We are using tab control with multiline mode property true. We have around 20 tab pages and because of multiline mode property items are displayed in three rows. Annoying thing is whenever we do selection of a tab in first row tab items get rearranged
and my selected tab will come to last row. Is any one facing the same issue. Please suggest me.

The selected Tab has no bottom border (assuming top alignment) and so the selected tab should always merge with the tabpage. This is why the row with the selected tab always moves to the tabpage border. If you don't want this behaviour then set the tabcontrols
appearance to Button and the rows will not change when a tab is selected.

Executions on both tab control and list tab

In my TestStand OI, on the left exists the listbox that contains the Sequence Files and Executions. On the right is the tab control that shows the Test Sequence only. Then, when a sequence file is run, the Executions and Report tab appear. What do I add/change such that the Executions tab is displayed next to the Sequence tab at all times.

I am not quite sure how this will benefit you as the Execution tab is solely for executions and when you start up your OI, there is no executions you are running. However, if you open up the Full OI's block diagram, you will notice a subVI called "Full OI - Show Appropriate Tabs". This is the VI that sets when the tabs are visible. If you change up that case structure for the ListBar (setting the different boolean constants), you can dictate which tabs are visible.

Can't Add To Access Control List Airport Express

We have both Airport Extreme (2) and Express Base Stations (3) to create a wireless network. On the Extremes I can click the Add button in Access Control in the Airport Admin Utility to add people to the list. On all the Express Base Staions I can edit or delete entries already on the list but can't add any new ones. I can export an Access Control List but not import one. The button is greyed out only the button works. I could add to the lists in the past and I'm not sure when it stopped working. The network structure and settings have not changed. Has anyone heard of this problem?
Aiport Express Mac OS X (10.4.8)

WDS is used on two Express units to relay the signal from the main base station but not on third one which is connected directly to the network via ethernet.
On the internet connected Express the Airport Network setting is:
Wireless Mode: Create a Wireless Network (Home Router)
All base stations have the same name to allow roaming.
Internet is connected using Ethernet.

I find that I can "Hide tabs" using the "Page Selector Visible" feature

Hi all. I can’t tell you how to solve your iCloud 3.x issues. Heck, I don’t think they’re even solvable.
But if you had a previous version of iCloud that was working correctly then I can definitely tell you how to solve the “iCloud Photo Stream is not syncing correctly to my Windows 7 PC” problem. …without even a re-boot.
Log out of iCloud 3.0 and uninstall it.
Open My Computer and then open your C:\ drive. Go to Tools/Folder Options and click on the View tab. Select the “Show hidden…” radio button and click on OK.
Open the Users folder.
Open your user folder
Open ProgramData (previously hidden folder)
Open the Apple folder – not the Apple Computer folder.
Open the Installer Cache folder
In Details view sort on Name
Open the folder for the newest entry for iCloud Control Panel 2.x – probably 2.1.2.8 dated 4/25/2013
Right click on iCloud64.msi and select Install.
When finished, the synching between iCloud and your PC will be back to working perfectly as before the 3.0 fiasco. The pictures will be synched to the same Photostream folder as before the “upgrade”. Now all you need to do is wait until Apple/Microsoft get this thing fixed and working before you try the 3.x upgrade again.
I think the iCloud 3.0 software was written by the same folks who wrote healthcare.gov with the main difference being that healthcare.gov might eventually be made to work.
For those of you who hate to go backwards, think of it as attacking to the rear. Which would you rather have, the frustration of no synching or everything working on an older version?

Access Control List Problem -won't let me in anymore?

Whilst attempting to add a second Airport Express (AE2) to my network I believe i have changed some setting somewhere!!!
I can see the new AE (AE2) in the menu bar as a seperate network not what i want - more importantly, when i select my network 'orchard' i now get the following message...
"...Selected Network uses Access Control List to restrict Access etc...
See Administrator for help - well i'm the Administrator!!!
If i select other from the menu bar and then 'orchard' from that list
Then enter the WEP p/w i get the same message as above.
Any ideas please - all i wanted to do was add AE2 to enable iTunes to stream throughout the house - now i'm i a right old mess!!!

That message indicates that you have enabled the access control list on the AirPort Express (AX) and the computer you are trying to connect is not on that list.
I suggest that you disable that list since it doesn't offer any real security. The MAC addresses are broadcast, easy to determine, and easy to clone.
If you only want to use the AirPort Express (AX) for iTunes, reset the AX and then follow the directions in KB 302153, AirPort Express: How to join an existing wireless network in client mode.

I'm still plagued by these warnings in my Flex project:-

Clicking on the warnings doesn't take me to the code.
The project started as SDK3.5. I've made it into an SDK4.0 project. It uses old Halo components throughout. I've chosen a Halo theme.
I can get rid of these warnings if I "Use Flex 3 compatibility mode". BUT, If I use that mode, I get also Run Time Errors - so I decided against this compatibility, and just edited the styling, deprecated syntax, and a few issues to make the app work.
I tried the solution someone suggested editing the flex-config.xml file, but it didn't work for me.

Yes, very irritating. "Only a warning" isn't the whole story, it's more than just an annoyance, it can potentially make all warnings useless.
Imagine cases where you have multiple warnings (often FB warnings turn up for EACH component resulting in many repeats, design mode is particularly bad with this). Having a ton of warnings that "aren't really warnings" obscures REAL warnings that we'd want to do something about (and makes errors harder to notice at first--you're so used to always seeing lines under the problems tab that you don't always notice a new error that just popped up). In the worst case scenario a valid warning that would have prevented a bug is missed and something goes to QA or production that should have been caught at compile time...
This wouldn't be nearly as annoying if we had some decent way of filtering these warnings from the problems tab. The current filter isn't good enough and only seems to allow you to filter out one message due to the way it works, but sometimes we see more than one type of "bogus" warning.
Voted and added to comments. I wonder if there's a feature request out there to improve warning filter capabilities? I also wonder why nobody complained about this before, it seems pretty easily visible. Is it the norm for people to just always ignore warnings? This isn't a good practice, warnings tend to exist for a reason.
(Btw, this is part of my reasoning for the claim that Halo seems to have become a "second class citizen" component set - hopefully Adobe can do something about this.)

How can I set the tab order of text box controls on each page of a tab control?

I need to be able to select the tabbing order of individual controls on a single page of a tabbed control. How??

In LV 6.1 an up you should be ablel to right click on the edge of the tab control when the tab-page in question is selected.
The bttom selcetion in the pop-up is "Reoder controls in page..."
selecting this option will switch editing modes to allow you to specify the ored, just like in a cluster.
I seem to remeber in older versions you had to drag the tabable controls off the tab control, specify the tabbing oder and then drag them back on. The oldest version I have on this machine is 6.1 so that all I can speak for at the moment.

Access Control Lists on USB drive connected to AirPort Extreme

I have a Seagate 320GB drive mounted in a NexStar 2 IDE drive enclosure and connected via USB to my AirPort Extreme Base Station, running version 7.4.1 firmware upgrade.
Every time I restart the computer or unmount the network drive, an access control list appears to be written to the drive when there should be none, according to Disk Utility. I can tell when there are problems with the drive because the desktop icon turns from bright blue to grey-blue. I have to unmount the drive from the base station and connect it directly to the computer via firewire in order for Disk Utility to examine it. Generally, Disk Utility will report "Incorrect number of Access Control Lists (It should be 0 instead of (whatever number found) )
Does anyone know why these Access Control Lists are appearing? Is there any easy way to locate them and remove them, other than disconnecting it from the base station and connecting to the computer?
This problem happens with several different drives, in various NexStar 2 and NexStar 3 enclosures.

Same problem for me, exept that it happends after copying a file to the drive. It don't happend if I just mount and unmount the disc. The same for all discs I have tryed.

Horizontal tabs when they are on the left side of tab control

I have a tab control for a touch screen where I was going to use buttons along the left side to change tabs, and hide the tabs. However, I realized I can put the tabs on the left side of the tab control and remove my buttons all together. Only issue is, I would like them (along with their font) to be horizontal, not vertical as they are shown in my screenshot. Is there a way to change this?

It's a really poor design aspect of tab controls that the text is sideways when the tabs are on the left or right side.
I've looked into it and found no way to re-orient the text.
However you can put images on the tabs instead of text, and the images can be of text (correctly oriented of course).
The attached code can be used to generate such a tab control.

Tab control background color matching

I have a system style tab control. I realized the when the program runs in exe mode, the background color of my label on the tab control doesn't match the backgound color of the tab control. The background color of the tab control is different between exe mode and development mode. Anyone help? How do I match the color? Thanks!

Cursor Legend Tab Control BUG

Attached is a VI illustrating a bug with the Cursor Legend when graphs are in tab controls. If you enter in a number in the "Cursor X position to move to", then switch pages on the tab control, you'll notice the cursor has moved to the appropriate place, BUT the cursor legend has not changed to reflect that. Once you manually move it, it updates.
In short, if the cursor position changes programmatically, the cursor legend will update ONLY IF THE XY GRAPH IS VISIBLE, even though the cursor position DOES change.
I hope someone from NI will see this post and add it to the bug list (if not already there??). If anyone knows a work around, that would be appreciated also.

Good idea. It doesn't work exactlly, but gave me the idea for how to work around. It appears even if you have a tab value change event doing the same thing the Cursor X Position numeric indicator value change event, the cursor legend X value will not change. You can even try entering the same value in the indicator and pressing return after switching tabs, the cursor legend will not update. It thinks for some reason it is on the correct index. I made a Tab Value change event that first moves the cursor to the next index, then moves the cursor back to the correct index. Ugly but works. Hopefully in the next ver of LV they will have fixed a lot of these cursor bugs; there is definitely some work to be done (i.e. fixing cursor X position for XY graphs, an extremelly annoying bug)

When I resize the font for the Page Labels on the tab control in LabVIEW 7, the Increment/Decrement size gets messed up. Is there a solution to this problem or is this a bug?

I have noticed in LabVIEW 7.0 and 7.1 that when the text in the page labels display is enlarged, that the arrows enlarge but the top arrow enlarges more then the small arrow but then when you decrease the text size, the arrows stay remain large. This is not a problem in 6.1 because the arrows aren't available. Is there a work around for this bug or do I have to use small text for these page label arrows to look right?

I must admit that I've never used the page labels display and it does look like a bug. You can fix it however. Select the tab control and choose Advanced>Customize. In the control editor, select the page label control and do the same thing. You should be in the control editor for the numeric control and then you can go to edit mode and enlarge the decrement arrow to make it the same size as the increment.
