Tab on browser

Hi Guys
When we jump from home to other pages in apex , say search or report
IT also changes the tab name at/in browser on the top.
so home becomes search.
I want to keep a common name , like "oracle.com" or "mypages.com"
by changing any properties at application level.
Apex 4.1.1 , 11 g linux , IE & FF

1. Use two-level tabs but have only one parent tab.
2. Make all your other tabs children of the one parent tab.

Hello everyone.
I'm looking for a bit of guidance on something I'm trying to do in Apex.
I have a report that contains a blob. Users can click on the link to open it in same browser. I also know how to make it download if they click the link. But what I really want to do is to click the link and open the blob in another tab or browser window.

So far I haven't found a way to use something link "target=_blank"One way would be to use a Dynamic Action to apply the <tt>target="_blank"</tt> attribute to each link, or convert them to use APEX pop-ups or a jQuery lightbox like fancyBox.

Telling quicktime to stop playing if switched to another tab or browser?

Hey Everyone
Ok say i have a movie on a web page which is playing, and the user switches to another tab or browser window, is there anyway to tell quicktime to stop playing if this happens?

Firefox 6 doesn't ask me to save a session with mutiple tabs even that I've checked the * browser.tabs.warnOnClose, * browser.warnOnQuit and * browser.warnOnRestart. Thanks in advance

The option mentioned in the reply appears available but doesn't restored the session I needed at all. Now, I tried to close this session and Firefox warned me, just the way it used to. :|
Why it seems to be working normally again? Are there any options I should de/activate not to occur this once again. Some of the tabs I've lost ain't even in the browser history... Yes, I have to start using bookmarks.

How do you make a link open in a new tab or browser? I don't want people sent from my page and have to find there way back.

You won't be able to do this within iWeb itself. You'll have to go into the HTML code afterwards again and change a few things. Of course, what this means is that you will have to make these changes everytime your page is republished. It may be time to get familiarized with MassReplaceIt if you aren't already so that you can easily repeat the editing over and over as necessary.
The main thing you will need to to is to add the expression target="_blank" to your hyperlinks so that they look more like this...

You could use
TabControl control to contain web browser. Then add tabPages when you need new page.
You could add or remove the page like below, I handle the add or remove in two buttons. Here is the code.

CP 4 not opening new tab in browser

Without actually seeing it myself, here is a problem my client has described. 5 or 6 modules are on a website (SiteBuilder) with links. When a user clicks on a module link, the module opens and runs fine. But when the user closers the module, they are forced to log back on to the website. I assume the problem is that when the user clicks the module link, that instead of another tab opening in the browser, it opens inside the same page.
Does anyone know if there is a script/code that I can add to the modules to always open either another tab or browser window?

My guess is that any configuration of that sort would occur at the SiteBuilder end. Perhaps there is a forum dedicated to SiteBuilder where you might ask?

Field dominance tab in Browser

It's absolutely the right place to discuss issues. That's what user groups are all about.
What I meant was that this is not the best channel to make a formal feature request because it will go unnoticed by the Adobe team. It needs to be a formal feature request at the link I provided.
I seldom need frequent access to field dominance controls because I am usually in control of most of my source material. Occasionally I receive footage from around the world which I have to combine. I then set field dominance on an ad hoc/ trial and error basis. A simple right-click on the timeline clip suits my low-level purposes. However, material shot with one particular field dominance doesn't always "swap across" with just the flick of a switch - as you can get unsightly combing on the action.
As a work-around to your issue, can you not do a batch encoding using AME with an intermediate codec.
You must be using an interlaced XDcam format. My PMW-EX1R set to 1080p25 has no field dominance, but then I'll bet you knew that already ;-)

When trying to open a link in the page I am on and open it in a new Tab the browser stops responding.

I open the browser and the Hime Page opens as expected. When I open a link to an item or article on the page in a new Tab Firefox stops responding and thye top line on the screen shows that to be the case. The only way to resolve the issue is to exit or close Firefox and start again. This has just started yesterday (Oct 12) as before that the process worked fine.
When I open a new Tab and then type in a new web site it will open and allow access with no problem, provided I have not open a link as outlined in the first paragraph. I can open several tabs in this manner and Firefox works as expected. But if I try to link from any page and open in a new Tab i get the "not responding" situation again.
After closing Firefox so I can restart it, the browser will open but the first screen will be a blank tab rather than my home page. I can open web sites and Firefox proceeds as expected as long as I do not try to open a link from within the page in a new Tab. I get the same "Not responding" situation.
If I immediately close Firefox after it opens without my homepage and then restart it then my home page will open as expected.
I have not made any changes to programs or setups in Firefox or on my computer in the immediate time before the problem started.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

Invalidate connection to BlazeDS server when closing tab in browser

There is an issue using IE and blazeds. When you establish a connection to blazeds from a tab of your browser, even when the tab get closed, she connection remains. The session doesn't get invalidated. It looks like it works fine in Firefox but it's an issue in IE.
It is especialy important if you are build a chat room for example ... you want to know precisly when someone is leaving the room.
I finally found an answer to this problem. I didn't find any answer on the Internet so I felt that I should share it.
I invalidate the session on the server side using a servlet.
Here is the code:
In my flex app html template I add:

That’s it ! On the unload of the page, an Ajax request is made to the servlet that will invalidate the http session.
Your browser’s connections get invalidated and blazeDS catches the disconnection.

How to get a more descriptive name to show up in tab of browser?

When my site is viewed, the tab on the browser simply shows the name of the page that I have given to it - e.g. home, contact us, activities, etc. I'm thinking that this doesn't stand out much to a user -- i.e. with several tabs open in a browser the user wouldn't automatically think "oh yeah, that's the site I was on before I stopped for dinner".
I can rename the tabs completely (e.g. Doha Mums - Home, Doha Mums - Activities, etc.) but then the iWeb-generated menu would be a disaster with all of the long descriptions.
Is there a way to make the tabs on the browsers show up as something different than their short-and-sweet menu names?

The easiest way is to hide the standard navigation for each page in the page inspector, create your own in a text box and copy and paste it to each page. This way you can have say "Home" in the navigation menu but name the page "My Wonderful Website" in the iWeb sidebar.
You can then have your choice of fonts, colors, rollover colors, U or non U etc.

Open a document in a new tab or browser window Sharepoint 2013

Customer requirement states that a doc must be opened in the browser, but requires that it open in a new window or tab. I know that this is bad practice, but customer is the customer. Please provide the best course of action. 95% of docs
will be PDFs and can not use client application as the means of opening. Appreciate your help and easiest, simplest solution.

I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.5 and i have one page "Hello.jspx" and one data control consist of two attributes :-one is "id" and other is "url".
The datacontrol has been created from the WebService.
Now my requirement is : -
whenever i run the page "Hello.jspx" , then on page load the url attribute should get accessed and should be opened in a new window or tab of the browser.As the url contains the information about the document.
Hello.jspx page doesn't contain any bindings of the url attribute.
I had thought of using the PhaseListener class and use the onPageLoad method .But how do i get the url from the dataControl and open it in the other tab of the browser on page load.
Please suggest!!!!

Solution: Go into your template and remove the reference "_blank" which is causing this to open in a new tab.
