Table data encryptions on the Administration Level

Hi,
I like to know is there any functions in the oracle database
that encrypt my data in the particular table which even an
administrator wouldn't be able to see the data unless he enter a
password ?

Select option is an internal table with for fields: sign, option, low and high.
you need to check the value in the internal table.
U can use IT_MAIN1-TDLNR = S_TDLNR-LOW. (If you enter the value in left field of select option.), But it is not suggestable.
Or else.. U can validate this in loop statement itself.
LOOP AT IT_MAIN1 where IT_MAIN1-TDLNR IN S_TDLNR AND

User defined tables: amending Index on the database level. Opinions???

Hi everybody who has some spare time to read my stuff
I had a problem that some of you might have had. I have a user defined table, lets call it ProductTypes. Now system by default creates two columns in this table, one is Code (primary key) and another is Name (Index). I have added third column called Department. Now, if I wanted to add the following data (see bellow) to the table I would have had a constraint violation message pointing me out that I have problems with indexing.
Code, Name, Department
1, Cream, Fragrances
2, Cream, Beauty Products

I could thing of couple workarounds of this problem
1. Is to duplicate Code into Name and storing rest of the data using user columns
Code, Name, Product Name, Department
1, 1,Cream, Fragrances
2, 2, Cream, Beauty Products
This approach isnt very convenient as it requires UI development should we decide to attach this table to the Item master data form in a form of combo box.
2. Is to amend Index on the database level. Initially, the index KProductTypes_Name consisted of only one column Name, what I have done is added another column which is Code to indexing. I dont see how this can harm database consistency or damage the core system. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Another way of amending index in order to solve my problem could be choosing ignoring duplicate values option for column Name.
Please let me know what are your thoughts.

in this scenario we would have to do UI SDK development for the output and going to have an extra column with meaningless data in it.

Data validation at the UI level

Hi
I have a requirement like i need to validate the input data at the UI level.
If the data is valid ,only then it should be allowed to be saved.
If someone knows how to do the same.
I have seen a method DO_VALIDATE_INPUT method in View controller (IMPL) class.No clue on how it is being used.

Hi Leon,
Are you talking about the Webclient as UI or something else??
There are 2 options:
1) You use the Get and Set methods of your context node attributes (The ...CN01 etc classes) (to be found under your IMPL class --> attributes TYPED_CONTEXT(...CTXT class) and in there you should have some ...CN01, CN02, etc. classes. Here are all the GET and SET methods. (you could also go via the views' attributes, this is the shortest way).
Within the Get (put the value in the model) and Set (get the value from the model)methods you could do some checks and show an error.
2) Use the Do_handle_data method of your IMPL class. Once data is entered in the screen, this method is always called when another action is performed (pressing a button). Here you can easily check the content of fields.
3) Use the Do_handle_event method of your IMPL class. This method is called when there is an event that is being triggered (save button is pressed). You can redefine this method and before really saving the data you can perform your checks.

How to load data only at the upper level in ASO

We are loading the Days member with values 31/30/29/28 for the top level combinations in Block storage cube using a rule file. Now we need to carry out the same thing in ASO but ASO has a constraint that we can load data only at zero level. If we do that, then data at higher levels, after aggregation is incorrect. What can be done ?

Also possible but a little more complicated is to create a separate cube with a DayCount account and only accounts and time dimensions. The time dimension goes down to day. You load it with 1 record per day. Then, you use this cube and your original cube as source, transparent partitions to a BSO cube. This way, you have no bogus "input" members anywhere. Formulas that combine DayCount with other things would be written as outline formulas in BSO, since it doesn't support MDX. If you need those to be in MDX, then this wouldn't work for you.

Adobe form - Split internal table data & dis on the right and left corner

HI ,
I have a form where i am populating the data via an Internal Table.
The concern i have is i have 100 rows in the table and i want to print the first 10 rows on the right hand side of the page and the next 10 rows on the Left hand side of the page. I want to do this dynamically on multiple pages during run time based on the volume of data in the internal table.
I am sure i cannot dynamically change the interface of the form to allow multiple internal table , Please suggest if there is any other solution.

I have a table with 120 records.
i have three columns which i have it on the right side as well as on the Left side of the page.
EX:
Right Side Left Side
Col1 col2 col3 col1 col2 col3.
Now what i want to do is the first ten rows of the internal table data i want to print it on the Right Side and the Next 10 rows on the Left Side in the same page .
I want to do this on Multiple pages.

Downloaded data in Excel from SAP table data to have the macro and control?

We know that in SE16 screen to display SAP table data, there is a menu item or button to download the table data to excel sheet, but in the excel sheet, the data is for display only and some calculation functions (e.g. sum) are not be able to be downloaded to the excel sheet as macro.
Our customers would like us to see if there is a way that in the excel sheet with the download SAP table data, only some certain rows/columns of data are allowed to be changed by customers or in other words, other areas in the excel sheet should be frozen and users can not even insert a column and do the copy/paste rows/columns. And also the original calculated column in SAP table (e.g., sum) would be in the corresponding column in the excel sheet, but with macro to do the same function (e.g., sum). After the customers perform some changes in some allowed certain rows/columns in the excel file, then the changed data can be uploaded back to SAP.
Wonder if there are such ABAP program to fullfill the above task to download SAP table data to an excel file and to make the downloaded data in the excel with only some certain row/columns to be changeable and all other areas frozen?

This is available in Older versions. Starts Excel with a macro.
I have never tried using this FM.

Issue In internal table data population in the o/p

Dear Guru , I have encountered an issue for which i am not able to findout the logic . I have an internal table through which i am populating the below data for detail report format :->

How to view the table at the application level

Dear All,
How to view the table in the Data Dictionary at the application level, If a table is created at the database level by using CREATE statement.

U should create a program using SQL native in order to select and show the data.
By SE11 or directly in the program u can define a structure like your table:
DATA: BEGIN OF W_ZMARD,
 FIELD,
 END OF W_ZMARD.

EXEC.

I don't know if it's possible to create a view in SE11, because it's needs a table just defined in SE11, u can create a new view ZMARD based on MARD but I don't believe it'll use your table.

I have dmp files generated using expdp on oracle 11g..

Can I use a parameter file given below to get the table data in to the sql file or impdp the only option to load the table data in to database.

To explain more about my situation.
Target database has the dump files, where as the source database (cloud) doesn't have access to the target database.
However, I can request the target DB DBA team to run the par files and provide me the output like a SQL file which I can take and run it in my source database.
I got the metadata the same way, but is there any way I could get the data from the dump files on the target DB without actually accessing it? My question might sound weird, but please let me know.

You can do this on the source database and then copy the file over to your local database or you can do this from a local database if you have a database link defined on the local database that points to the source database. In the second case, your dumpfile will be created on your local database.

Fragementation of table data in the DB file

Hi,
I am working on an OLTP system where this OLTP is residing on an oracle 10G database[database name ORCL] now further it has got a user OLTP which contains about 50 tables and all these tables are residing physically on a single database file[dbf file] and tablespace OLTP is pointing to this dbf file which is OLTP.dbf, Now there are a certain applications that are front end applications and inserting/updating/deleting in these 50 tables, I am taking a case of inserts so that makes me believe that the individual table data stored in the OLTP dbf file is not getting stored by individual table, now I am facing a lot of performance issues and instead I am trying to fragment data by table, so my questions are:
1) is there a way to fragment data in the physical dbf file such that during the weekend I could go on and fragement the data when the applications are not encountering heavy loads, this is ultimately going to help me with performance issues.
2) is there any way to physically see data in the dbf file since using this information I can solve a lot of my performance issues.

Thanks BCV for the link it is very informative.
However I am not concerned about weather some blocks are under utilized or not(the link is actually suggesting a manual way of bringing the data together and I can further pack it up in a plsql procedure with a cursor reading information about my concerned tables by setting up a table with concerned table names), my concern is to bring the reserved blocks for a table together(since inserts will happen on a daily basis on a table and that makes me believe that the blocks reserved will be scattered throughout the DBF file and since they are scattered every time oracle needs to refer a particular table and its full table scan would take more IO on disk if the blocks are scattered throughout the database file as compared to contiguous blocks for a particular table(meaning defragmenting the table data))
PS: I am trying to clear out a few doubts, may be I am not able to understand everything in the link, it would be great if some1 with experience with this kind of activity could throw more light on this topic.

Task level data at the Project level?

Hi all,
I have a custom date field in Project 2010 that if certain text is displayed in the task name, this field is populated by the task finish date.
Essentially this task is connected within Project Server to an external 'deliverable'.
I need to grab this date and have it at the Project Information level - is this possible?
Even using Enterprise flags, I still could not obtain the task date at a Project level.
Any thoughts much appreciated.

Date fields in the Maintainence View.

Hello friends,
I created a maintanence view which of 2 steps. This view contains a DATE field of data element type 'DATS". Now the problem is -"
1. In the first screen of the viewI am not able to see only the DATE field(Over view scr).
2. But I able to see the same field in the 2nd screen(Maintanence Screen).
Not only to my View I maintained ' Table Maintanence Generator" to some more tables.There also I am not able to see the date field in the first screen, unless it is a key field.

Delivery Class: The delivery class controls the transport of table data when
installing or upgrading, in a client copy and when transporting between customer
systems. The delivery class is also used in the extended table
maintenance.
There are the following delivery classes:
A: Application table (master and transaction data).
C: Customer table, data is maintained by the customer only.
L: Table for storing temporary data.
G: Customer table. The customer namespace must be defined in table TRESC. (Use
Report RDDKOR54 here).
E: System table with its own namespaces for customer entries.
S: System table, data changes have the same status as program changes.
W: System table (e.g. table of the development environment) whose
data is transported with its own transport objects (e.g. R3TR PROG, R3TR TABL,
etc.).
Data Browser/Table View Maint.: This indicator specifies
whether it is possible to display/maintain a table or view using the maintenance
tools Data Browser (transaction SE16) and table view maintenance (transactions
SM30 and SM31).

Indexes: To speed up data selection, you can create secondary indexes for the table
