Table Data Validation, Created using ViewLink

Hi All,
I have two ViewObject SwitchFundFromVO and SwicthFundToVO, these two are linked with ViewLink. Now In the JSPX page i have two table. One is using SwitchFundFromVO and another one using SwitchFundToVO.
Table: SwitchFundFromVO
1.) This a pre populated table.
2.) Its a single selection based row, whenever user clicked one row from this table, he/she can enter value at the SwicthFundToVO table below and can enter any number of rows.
Use Case:
So let say, if SwitchFundFromVO has 2 pre populated rows, and user select the first row to switch his fund from. then he goes to SwitchFundToVO table and enter 2 rows where he/she wants to switch the fund.
And again user select the 2nd row from the SwitchFundFromVo and goes to SwitchFundToVO and enters two rows for this also.
So now 1 rows of SwitchFundFromVO table is linked with 2 rows of SwitchFundToVO table.
I have two columns in SwitchFundToVO, one is FundName and another is Percentage, now i want to check that those two rows user added for each of the SwitchFundFromVO should match with 100%. After user clicked Submit Button.
Hope I am clear here, I am trying this with managed bean, but didnt get how to go about this kind of Validation.
Thanks,
Neeraj

Thanks Arun,
Will try as u suggested, but still i believe it wont calculate the percentage block by itself, we have to calculate percentage column and throw and error message if the sum is not equal to 100%.
Anyways i will try and let you know.
Thanks,
Neeraj Halder

how to process each records in the derived table which i created using  cte table using sql server

Ideally you would be doing a set based processing rather than traversing row by row as thats more efficient. To answer it specific to your scenario we may need more info. Can you explain with some sample data your exact requirement?

  • Data Validation/Filtering Using SmartView

    Hi,
I just want to know that how can i apply Data Validation/filtering in SmartView.
For E.G if i want that Only those combination should be Shown where the Value of a Product is Always Greater than 2000.
    Please help out
    Thanks in Advance

Well, yes it is true you can write MDX for it but that isn't what you asked is it?
If you look at the Tech Ref
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/esb_tech_ref/frameset.htm?launch.html
and search for IIF there is an example there that should point you in the right direction.
    WITH MEMBER
    [Scenario].[Revised Budget]
    AS
    'IIF (
    [Product].CurrentMember.Caffeinated,
    Budget * 1.1, Budget
    SELECT
    {[Scenario].[Budget], [Scenario].[Revised Budget]}
    ON COLUMNS,
    [Product].Levels(0).Members
    ON ROWS
    FROM Sample.Basic
    WHERE ([Measures].[Sales], [Year].[Qtr3])
Otherwise I might post a new question asking for someone to help you optimise an MDX query.

  • --urgent Can I use table data to create a dynamic drop down menu?

    Hi,
I am asked to investigate the possibility of using APEX to create a table driven dynamic drop down menu? The deadline is tomorrow but I have spent quite a bit of time but still have not any clue. Can any one have such experience to point me a way to focus on?
    Many thanks.
    Jennifer

Thanks you very much for the help Kevin.
Currently my company is using htp.p style to create web app and using the dynamic menu in a similar way as you explained. Now they want to move to Apex and still keep dynamic menu functionality. After reading your response and research I have done I think I can embed it into Apex application by creating the similar table and PL/SQL package and let Apex to call the PL/SQL package when the application is first called. However may I ask you a question about how to call such pl/sql procedure in Apex? .
The current application has the following URL, from which the procedure pkg_main.print_menu is called and html home page with dynamic menu is displayed.
    Http://app server:1234/pls/applicationname/pkg_main.print_menu?p_new_window=N
BUT what about the Apex? The Apex URL format is like the following, where 11563 and 1 is application id and page number. Assume that 1 is home page, but HOW the procedure is called, from WHERE?
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=11563:1:3397731373043366363

  • Import option is not showing the Data Source created using ODBC

    Hi all,
I'm new to OBIEE, just installed OBIEE 10g in my system with the help of some reply from this Forum (thanks to Kalyan for this).
Now when I tried to create new rpd, the Import option is not showing the Data source I have created. I have created new Datasource in the SystemDSN tab of the ODBC Administrator window,I have tried this by creating the Datasource in the UserDNS tab as well.
Mine is Windows 7 Ultimate. The new data source which I have created through the ODBC Administrator window is to connect to SQL 2008 (I'm trying to get some table from SQL 2008 database), I don't have Oracle data base.
While creating the Data source ODBC Administrator is showing only two drives (SQL Server and SQL Server Native Client 10.0 ) , so I have created the Data source using the SQL Server Native Client 10.0 drive.
Can some one help me to understand the issue and to solve it.
    Thanks,

  • Consumption of data model created using Screen Scraping

    Dear All,
I have created a GW Data Model for recording a standard SAP transaction and subsequently created its GW Consumption Model in SAP Netweaver Gateway. This will return a REST service. This REST service supports 'CRUD'
(CREATE,READ,UPDATE.DELETE) operations as per the documentation .While using this REST service I am facing two
    problems.
    Case 1:
I created a GW Comsumption Model by recording transaction 'TZ60' for READ operation, created QUERY operation
and 'TZ90' for UPDATE operation. I can use the READ operation successfully in Dot Net Application but how can I use
the UPDATE operation in Dot Net Application ?
    Case 2:
Can wev create Screen Scraping Data Model for complex transactions involving Multiple Screens/Tabstrips and ALVs.
Please reply to this thread as soon as possible.Thankyou.

  • Global Temp Table Data Deleted Before Use

    Hi All,
My application sends query to Procedure as input by using which data is inserted in Global Temp Table but when want to use inserted data in Application there are no records in table.
There is no implicit or explicit Commit after data insertion. If I use ON COMMIT PRESERVE ROWS option during global table creation, still records are deleted from temp table .....Application don't gets records.
    What may be other reasons.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Rakesh-India

bro u need to explicity use COMMIT for preserve transactions. the clause for the global temporary table states ON COMMIT; meaning if u commit ...got it now.
explicitly commiting the transactions after insert worked.
Now the global temp tab are session based, other user session cannot access the inserted rows.
If commiting the transaction doesn't work then u should retrieve the inserted rows within the procedure or at the end of the proc code the data may be truncated... but commiting the transactions should work easily.

  • Tables created using Enterprise Console Manager do not show up in SQLPLUS

I am struggling with Enterprise console manager and command line SQLPLUS.
I have tried scott/tiger , system/manager and the new user that I have created. But I am having the following problems:
    1. I cannot connect as NORMAL through Enterprise Console Manager if I use scott/tiger OR new/paswd. Only way I can connect as NORMAL is using system/manager
    2. The tables that I create using Enterprise Console Manager (while connected as system/manager in NORMAL mode) do not show up in the command line SQLPLUS. I am check this by running the following command:
    SELECT OWNER, OBJECT_NAME FROM ALL_OBJECTS WHERE OBJECT_NAME LIKE '%TEST%';
While running the above command I am conected to SQLPLUS using system/manager WITHOUT SYSDBA
    3. Lastly, I have a JAVA class which establishes as connection to the database using system/manager. But I can access only the tables that I create using the Enterprise Console Manager. If I create a table using command line SQLPLUS (while connected as system/manager), I cannot access it through Java program.
I am struggling with this since last morning and now I have run out ways to debug what is happening. Can anybody suggest any ways to tackle this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Mahesh

Prior to 11g, when you created a table or whatever, you automatically allocated one extent.
This is now no longer true and depends on a parameter I don't remember.
    dba_segments is a summary of dba_extents.
Obviously, if there is no extent allocated, the table (view is defined with inner join) will not show up.
You could qualify this is as a bug and submit a SR to Oracle. But then the performance impact may be huge.

  • Delete table that was created via RSCRM_BAPI

    Gurus,
What is the easiest way to delete a table that was created using RSCRM_BAPI.  We have replace the table with an ODS and now want to remove RSCRM_BAPI's and the tables they created.

    Hi,
Come across this thread when google the same.
I've found a FM to delete the extract with the data, which is RSCRMBW_EX_DELETE. You may find this useful.

  • Appraoch for archiving table data from a oracledb and load in archiv server

    Hi,
I've a requirement where I need to archive and purge old data in datawarehouse.
The archival strategy will select data from a list of tables and load into files.
I also need to use sql loader control files to load data from the above files into archival server.
I want to know which is the better approach to load data into files.
Should I use utl_file or spool table data into file using select stmts.
I also have some clob columns in some tables.

I've doing something like this a couple of months ago. After some performance tests: the fastest way is to create files through UTL_FILE used in procedure with BULK SQL. Another good idea is to create files with Python which operates on text files blazingly. (Use PL/SQL if you need to create that files on server, but if you have to create files on remote machine use something else (Python?))

  • Table Data Provider

    Hi,
I am trying to manually fill a table component from a ResultSet.
My question is : what Table Data Provider to use ?
If you have a look to this adress : http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/javatools/jscreator/reference/fi/2/data-providers.html
you will see that we should have a "ResultSet Table Data Provider" in the Palette Window but it is not my case.
Thank you in adavance for any help !
    Marc

    Hi,
The article at http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/javatools/jscreator/reference/fi/2/data-providers.html was writen pre EA and not all that accurate. I let the author know that it needs to be corrected.
We published a new tutorial that might help you. While it is about Hibernate, you can apply the same techniques to your result set results:

    Emp_name | James |     Julia

    Hi Pavan,
    Thanks for the prompt reply.
The link seems to be of not relevant to my question.
My question is to clearly transpose the rows to columns and vice versa without any changes to data.
    Regards,
993012I do not see any modification to the data in the Link posted by Pavan. Anyways, One catch with Transposing the Rows is, you need to know the Number of Columns you need to project.
With Static SQL, there is no way to do so. Hence, you will need PL/SQL with Execute Immediate/Dynamic SQL.
See demostration by Tom Kyte on Dynamic Pivots to have a look at the example and adapt to your situation.
Although, I will debate on the need to do it in SQL. Because what you are upto is a part of Reporting and there are many reporting Tools which will have this functionality in-built. SQL, ideally should not be used for reporting purposes. It sole purpose it to store and pass the data to be rendered by Client Software i.e. Java or Third Party tools.

How to use a Sybase table in Oracle SQL statement?
    Sybase version : 11.9.2.4
    Oracle version : 10.2.05
Thanks.Any Oracle client connected to the Oracle database can access Sybase data through the <font style="background-color: #FFFFCC">Database Gateway for Sybase</font> (it requires an additional license) or the <font style="background-color: #FFFFCC">Database gateway for ODBC</font> (it's free).
The Oracle client and the Oracle database can reside on different machines. The gateway accepts connections only from the Oracle database.
A connection to the gateway is established through a database link when it is first used in an Oracle session. In this context, a connection refers to the connection between the Oracle database and the gateway. The connection remains established until the Oracle session ends. Another session or user can access the same database link and get a distinct connection to the gateway and Sybase database.
Database links are active for the duration of a gateway session. If you want to close a database link during a session, you can do so with the ALTER SESSION statement.
To access the Sybase server, you must create a <font style="background-color: #FFFFCC">database link</font>. A public database link is the most common of database links.
SQL> CREATE PUBLIC DATABASE LINK dblink CONNECT TO
    2  "user" IDENTIFIED BY "password" USING 'tns_name_entry';
--dblink is the complete database link name.
--tns_name_entry specifies the Oracle Net connect descriptor specified in the tnsnames.ora file that identifies the gatewayAfter the database link is created you can verify the connection to the Sybase database, as follows:
    SQL> SELECT * FROM DUAL@dblink;

  • Creating a trigger to enforce data validation

I would like to create a trigger to do some basic data validation. For example, to join an honors society a student must have a gpa between 3.7 and 4.0. I want this to fire before an insert on the table NatlHonSoc, and the field name is gpa.

There is no book better to start with than the official documentation.
Learning where to look things up in the documentation is time well spent investing in your career. To that end, you should drop everything else you are doing and do the following:
Go to tahiti.oracle.com. Drill down to your product and version.
Spend a few minutes just getting familiar with what is available here. Take special note of the "books" and "search" tabs. Under the "books" tab you will find the complete documentation library.
Spend a few minutes just getting familiar with what kind of documentation is available there by simply browsing the titles under the "Books" tab.
Open the Reference Manual and spend a few minutes looking through the table of contents to get familiar with what kind of information is available there.
Do the same with the SQL Reference Manual.
Do the same with the Utilities manual.
You don't have to read the above in depth. They are reference manuals. Just get familiar with what is there to be referenced. Ninety percent of the questions asked on this forum can be answered in less than 5 minutes by simply searching one of the above manuals.
As pointed out by Centinul, for your purpose, you should include the Application Developer's Guide as part of your "must reference" books.
Then set yourself a plan to dig deeper.
    - Read a chapter a day from the Concepts Manual.
    - Look in your alert log and find all the non-default initialization parms listed at instance startup. Then read up on each one of them in the Reference Manual.
    - Take a look at your listener.ora, tnsnames.ora, and sqlnet.ora files. Go to the Network Administrators manual and read up on everything you see in those files.
    - When you have finished reading the Concepts Manual, do it again.
