Table Filter with static LOV column

Hi,
I am using JDeveloper 11.1.14 and ADF-BC in my project.
For one of the tables,I have the following scenario.
1. I have a viewobject [Ex: EmpVo] in which one of the attributes has a static LOV[:Ex: 'Status' attribute in EmpVo has static LOV - StatusLOV with values A - Active I - Inactive].
2. EmpVo -- > Employee table which stores A and I as status values in database
3. Display this view object as table in jsff page.
In the jsff page, when filter is enabled, for the status column I am able to filter only using 'A' and 'I'.
But actually filter has to work with 'Active' and 'Inactive' as filter values.
Please suggest the best way to implement filter in this scenario
Thanks,
Praveen

Take a look at the following article:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/16-custom-table-filter-169145.pdf
Here, for LOV's you could have an LOV as a filter component instead of the default inputText component.
Thanks,
Navaneeth

    How to reject external table rows with some blank columns
    I have an external table and I would like to reject rows when a number of fields are empty. Here are the details.
    CREATE TABLE EXTTAB (
    ID NUMBER(10),
    TSTAMP DATE,
    C1 NUMBER(5,0),
    C2 DATE,
    C3 FLOAT(126)
    ORGANIZATION EXTERNAL (
    TYPE ORACLE_LOADER
    DEFAULT DIRECTORY EXT_DAT_DIR
    ACCESS PARAMETERS (
    RECORDS DELIMITED BY NEWLINE
    LOAD WHEN (NOT (c1 = BLANKS AND c2 = BLANKS AND c3 = BLANKS))
    LOGFILE EXT_LOG_DIR:'exttab.log'
    BADFILE EXT_BAD_DIR:'exttab.bad'
    DISCARDFILE EXT_BAD_DIR:'exttab.dsc'
    FIELDS TERMINATED BY "|"
    LRTRIM
    MISSING FIELD VALUES ARE NULL
    REJECT ROWS WITH ALL NULL
    FIELDS (
    ID,
    TSTAMP DATE 'YYYYMMDDHH24MISS',
    C1,
    C2 DATE 'YYYYMMDDHH24MISS',
    C3
    ) LOCATION ('dummy.dat')
    REJECT LIMIT UNLIMITED
    So, as you can see from the LOAD WHEN clause, I'd like to reject rows when C1, C2 and C3 are empty.
    The above statement works fine and creates the table. However when I am trying to load data using it, the following error is produced:
    ORA-29913: error in executing ODCIEXTTABLEOPEN callout
    ORA-29400: data cartridge error
    KUP-00554: error encountered while parsing access parameters
    KUP-01005: syntax error: found "not": expecting one of: "double-quoted-string, identifier, (, number, single-quoted-string"
    KUP-01007: at line 1 column 41
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.ORACLE_LOADER", line 14
    ORA-06512: at line 1
    It seems that external tables driver does not understand the "NOT (...)" condition. Could anyone suggest how I can achieve what I want in a different way?
    Thank you.
    Denis

    Another method would be to simply remove the "LOAD WHEN condition" and create a view on the external table which filters the data.
    CREATE EXTTAB_VIEW AS
    SELECT * FROM EXTTAB
    WHERE not (c1 is null and c2 is null and c3 is null);

  • Adding mandatory filter with own LoV to BW OLAP Universe

    Dear all,
    I want to add a own filter with custom LoV to a characteristics-filter in an OLAP Universe. This filter does not exist in the BEx Query, so I have to do it manually.
    So when the prompt shows up in WebI, the User should be able to select the Values from the custom LoV, for example:
    - Tokio
    - London
    - Paris
    The filter has to be mandatory and Tokio should be preselected. I was testing some things with the filter-XML, but always got errors. Can somebody tell me how this works?
    Thank you for help in advance!
    B. Wegner

    Hi,
    There are a few steps involved, I would suggest approaching them one at a time.
    First, try to set up a filter (condition in the universe) to only show data for Tokyo (no prompt). Ensure you can get this to work.
    Next, try and turn this condition into a prompt, but just define the LoV in the prompt syntax, not a separate object. Check that this works.
    Next, try and split out that LoV into it's own object that populates from the characteristic in the BEx query. This will be the tricky part (maybe), if possible, get a filter created in the BEx query (make sure it's set as 'ready for user input') so that you see how the LoV gets created.
    As a last resort, have a look in the manual: http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir31SP3/en/xi31_sp3_sap_olap_univ_en.pdf
    Hope that helps.

  • Table Layout with Dependent LOV on the Table.

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement as below. I have a VO that has below columns and I show them all in a Table region on OA page.
    1. Code
    2. Old Data
    3. New Data
    Code is a dropdown or pick list which has multiple values say "Job", "Grade" and "Position".
    So, when I choose "Job", I need to show the "Job" lov for New Data field.
    and when I choose "Grade", I need to show the "Grade" lov for New Data field and same with "Position" as well.
    Can I able to do this in OA page? if so, can you throw some hints how to do this?
    Thanks in advance

    Check on partial page rendering (PPR) section of Dev guide.

  • Interactive Report with static lov

    Hi,
    i have a classic report with images view of status value
    for example Status 'Open' --> Red Ball image
    Status 'Close' --> Green Ball images
    How to do this in an interactive report?
    Thanks in advance
    Costantino

    Costantino,
    Because of the filtering, IRRs don't support lovs the way that Classic Reports do. To change your display value, you would need to use a decode or case statement in your query. Given that your display will then include html, you will probably want to disable the filter on that column.

  • How to implement af:table filter with java backend?

    Hi,
    One of the af:table feature is to have a filter over its column to filter data. I want to implement this feature, however I'm not able to find documentation or example for it.
    We use plain java as backend (i.e. not using ADF BC) and most of the documentation and examples over the net are with ADF BC.
    Have you done or come across an example of similar implementation before?
    Thanks for the help.

    Hi,
    You can implement your own filters by adding a "filter" facet to your af:column.

  • How to create a dynamic table (repeating) with static header?

    Hello
    My purpose is to create a table which should be dynamically filled at runtime depending on the number of elements in the datasource($record.list). If the list is empty, the table shouldn't be displayed at all.
    I created a subform which holds a table, ticking "Repeat Subform for each data item" and I set the binding of the table elements to $record.list[*].myelement. This works fine so far.
    For the table header I created a second subform with a table having exactly the same size like the other table with text fields that contain the table header texts.
    My problem now is that I would like to control the display of the subform which serves as table header row depending on whether $record.list is empty or not.
    What's the best way to do this? How can I have access to the datasource for a form?
    Thank you very much for your help!!!
    Best regards
    Bettina Hepp

    Hi,
    Instead of creating the header row outside the table.
    Create it inside the same table as header row.
    So when you create a condition then automatically applicable for the header row also.
    This is the best option.

    The only way you may be able to do this is using
    MODULE PROCESS ON VALUE-REQUEST. User-programmer F4 help
    in your PAI routine.
    In this routine you would build the list and get the returned value to update the field.
    Something like this.
      DATA: BEGIN OF value_tab OCCURS 0,
        field1 TYPE zlmltype,
        field2 TYPE zltypex,
      END OF value_tab.
    * Drop down values
      REFRESH it_return_tab. CLEAR it_return_tab.
      REFRESH value_tab. CLEAR value_tab.
      SELECT ltype ltypex
        INTO TABLE value_tab
        FROM zlmltyp
        WHERE auth NE '9'.    "System Only
      CALL FUNCTION 'F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST'
           EXPORTING
                retfield   = 'FIELD1'
                value_org  = 'S'
           TABLES
                value_tab  = value_tab[]
                return_tab = it_return_tab.

  • STATIC LOV COLORS

    I have created a select list in a report with
    static LOV.
    Does anyone know how to change the font
    color of each option in the select list?
    Example for options 1,2,3
    something like this:
    <font color="red">1</font> .... red
    <font color="green">2</font> ... green
    <font color="blue">3</font> ... blue
    Thanks

    Thanks marife
    for the good suggestion. It seems that the colour
    pattern works absolutely fine but the problem is that
    it creates another line for each option and
    makes the select list a bit difficult difficult to read.
    By the way i am using htmldb_item.select_list
    and not an actual select list.
    If you have any better suggestions let know
    thanks,

  • Translate static LOV values ?

    Hello,
    I need to translate a French application into English. I've followed the translate processus, but I've got a problem with static LOV values.
    I use radiogroup with static LOV, and it seems that I can't translate these static values, but I have to do it.
    Any idea to help me?
    Tanks

    Another solution is to define both French and English (or whatever) item in the LOV. For each item in it, you specify a "Conditional Display: current language = Expression" --> fr-ca for exemple. So in your LOV, you will have something like this.
    YES --> Y
    NO --> N
    Oui --> Y
    Non --> N
    Depending on the current language, you will see only 2 items in that LOV.
    That should do it.

  • Show Data as percent of Column with static table

    Hello,
    I have a problem calculating a % in a table. I have two columns in criteria tab:
    Departments and measure
    I need an extra column that calc % of total departments for each department. I know that I can do it with pivot table creating a new column and put: Show Data --> as Percent of --> Column but I need to do with static table.
    Is possible to do it??
    Thanks!!!

    Alex,
    You could try the following example here :
    http://www.biconsultinggroup.com/knowledgebase.asp?CategoryID=198&SubCategoryID=364
    using sum( measure by dimension attribute)
    This should give you access to the grand total in the report as a column, from which you can derive % of.
    HTH, if correct please mark answered / award points as you see fit to do so!!

  • Bug Report: Static LOV's and PDF Printing with Tabular Forms

    I have a tabular form, which acts as an editable report. Some columns are 'Standard Report Column' and some are Select Lists, using Static LOV's with the contents of
    Yes;Y,No;NThe purpose of the page is to allow users to edit yes/no attributes of a row. Then, they can print the report.
    To make the current sort of the report reflect what is being printed to PDF, I've used a Report Layout associated with the report region, as oposed to a report query. A report query in this case would not reflect the sort of the report (all columns are sortable asc/desc).
    Anyway, I link my report with the layout created, and go to run it. I get this message.
    ORA-06550: line 1, column 50: PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol "," when expecting one of the following: := . ( @ % ; The symbol ":= was inserted before "," to continue.
         Error      ERR-1000 Unable to determine LOV from "declare function x return varchar2 is begin Yes;Y,No;N return null; end; begin wwv_flow_utilities.g_query := x; end;".
    OK
    report error:
    ORA-20001: Error fetching column value: ORA-01403: no data foundI'm guessing the product is trying to take my static LOV and place it in a function to be able to generate which value is being displayed as text, from the select lists. However, it doesn't work.
    I've been able to get around it - by adding a YES_NO domain to my domain_codes table (a table which associates abreviations with full meanings), I can set by select lists to be query based select lists using the SQL select code_meaning, code from domain_codes where domain = 'YES_NO_CODE'. This still allows the user to dropdown Yes/No fields, and the PDF printing doesn't break.
    It is just me, or can't the PDF printing handle static LOV's in tabular forms/reports?

    Hi Patrick.
    I've tried STATIC:Yes;Y,No;Nwhile stating it is a Select List (static LOV). The values that are rendered on the page are
    [STATIC:Yes]
    [No        ]
    ----------I tried the same thing with STATIC2 instead of STATIC, and the same thing happened.
    It also broke if I tried STATIC or STATIC2 under Select List (query based LOV). This is within a report where there is no hyperlink to say 'Create/Edit static list' or 'Create Dynamic List', as there is under select list items.
    However, I am finding that for some reason, the values being sent to the PDF are not the values in the database (Y/N), but the showing values (Yes/No). This happens when I use the domain_code select query as the query based LOV.
    Furthermore, I cannot get any columns not rendering on the page to be generated in the PDF. I have a column that groups items depending on values, and I want this grouping to display in the PDF instead on the original value, ideally.
    Cheers,
    K.

  • LOV columns in read only adf:table problem

    Hello
    Adf 11, ADF BC
    I've create a table Test with a column called BranchNr, the value of the column comes from the BranchList table.
    I've created an EO and a VO for both tables.
    On the Test table attriute Branch I've create a list of values to the BranchList table which displays the BranchTable.BranchDesig based on the
    linke Test.BranchNr - BranchList.BranchNr
    Testing in the application module works fine, the BranchDeisg is displayed correctly and a new value can be selected from the list.
    However when I put the Test table as a read only table on a page the BranchNr column display the BranchNr number instead of looking up the corresponding BranchDesig value.
    If I change the column on the table to an ADF Select One Choice then the BranchNr is looked up and the BranchDesig is displayed but the column
    can be modified - on a read only table !
    How can I have a read only table that looks up and displays a value from a lov without having to create a new VO with a join query (Test-BranchList))
    Regards
    Paul

    Ok, I going to my glasses tomorrow
    - all that was needed was to change the column type to selctOneChoice
    and set the column to read only....

  • How to make one of the columns in my tabular an text item with popup lov

    Hello,
    I want to manually make one of the columns say for the deptno in my tabular form as on text item popup lov using apex_item package
    and whenever user clicks on the text item popup lov, it should open up an dept table report and from which he/she needs to select
    the deptno and this deptno should be returned into the text item popup lov column.
    like for example: say if i have an emp table tabular form with all the columns and deptno column as an popup lov and when user clicks on this column
    it should open up an new sql report(similar to popup lov window), the select statement for this would be
    select deptno,dname,loc from dept order by 1;
    And from this popup lov report whenever an user selects a particular deptno, the same deptno should be returned to my text item popup column in emp tabular form.
    something like this
    select
    "EMPNO",
    "EMPNO" EMPNO_DISPLAY,
    "ENAME",
    "JOB",
    "MGR",
    "HIREDATE",
    "SAL",
    "COMM",
    APEX_ITEM.TEXT(3,deptno,20,50,'readonly=true') || '<img height="16" align="middle" width="16" style="vertical-align: middle;" alt="Popup Lov" src="/i/lov_16x16.gif"/>' deptno
    from "#OWNER#"."EMP"
    like i made my column as an text item lov and now I want to write an onclick event for the text item lov so that an popup window is displayed which is a sql report of the table dept (select deptno,dname,loc from dept order by 1;) and in this report i want to make deptno as an link so that when ever an user clicks on it
    -- this value should be returned to my text item popup lov column deptno in the emp tabular form.
    can anyone help me out with this issue.
