Table for Modification assistant

Hello Gurus,
When we modify a standard program or program imported from other system, the system will popup for Modification assistant.
Then we will add our coding either using modification assistant or by turnign off modification assistant.
Now my question is, which table will hold the information about the modification assistant for a particular program.
Because, if we have turned modification assistant off, then the program will not popup modificaiton assistant, the next time we change the program. If we have used modification assistant, then it will popup for modification assistant.
So, definitely, this stuff is stored in some DB Table. So, please let me know how this stuff works or in which DB Table, information about modification assistant is stored.
Thanks and Best Regards,
Suresh

Hi,
If you find entry in table SMODISRC means, you have done modification operation off for your object.

Please find below, answers to your questions:
1.What objects will come in SPAU and SPDD?
Ans: All the objects which are modified, after tansporting to the current system,
will be listed in SPAU and SPDD. SPDD contains the list of all modified Data Dictionary objects, like tables, dataelements, domains,view...etc. The rest of all the modified repository objects will be listed in SPAU.
What happens to the modifications done in the older version when we upgrade the version? (with Modification assistant and w/o)
Ans: After the initial upgrade happens, we have to do adjustments from SPAU/SPDD to maintain or reset the changes. That is, from the list of objects in SPAU/SPDD, you have to either carry forward the changes to the new version, by choosing the option ADOPT CHANGES (available on right click) or RESET TO ORIGINAL (available on right click).
Will they come in these transactions?
Ans: yes, they will be listed in these transactions, after the BASIS updgrade activity.
And what if we apply some patches(Notes) to the system? What is the impact of these patches to the SPAU transaction?
Ans: Patches will be supported by the version upgrade. In case of notes, we have to verify whether these notes are supported by the new version (you can go into http://www.service.sap.com/notes to verify this. Also, we have to analyze whther the code in the note is already incorporated in the new version. In this case you can ignore the chanes choosing RESET TO ORIGINAL option
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005vp/helpdata/en/2e/6d66587d9011d396b60000e82de14a/frameset.htm
If you have applied any OSS notes to objects in your system, the hot package may overwrite these objects.
SPDD is used to identify dictionary objects
    and
SPAU (repository objects), will identify any objects where the hot package is overwriting changes you have made through OSS notes.
You must check all objects identified in SPAU and decide whether you need to reapply the OSS note or reset the code to the original SAP Code.
Also once the changes have been done you would see a green traffic light.
If you double click on the modified object it will show you a split window where on the left you will have the original version and on right the modified version. So you can choose which to keep and which to reject. You may keep the modified version incases where you know that the notes will only be pakages in the next version.

  • Modification assistant or similar concept for Z program

    Hi,
I have a requirement where I want to switch on the modification assistant for Z programs.
The requirement is such that I want the user to allow to make change for only a particular part of the code the rest part should be frozen for any changes. I think Modification Assistant will partially provide this.
But it seems that MA cannot be used for Z programs. Is there any other way to do this ?
    Please pour in your thoughts.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Megha

    Hi,
Why dont you try to create 2 objects ...1 main program with editor lock and the other 1 include program where in all the part that the user can change are there..much like the user-exit concept
    Just a suggestion.

  • Modification assistant for customer reports

    Hi,
How to enable modification assistant for the reports in customer namespace ?
    Regards,
    Rafal Olechowski

    sorry for the late reply.
No You can not do it through Modifictaion Overview for Custom reports, unless and untill its an standard SAP program.
Might be there any standard functions which could help you, but am not sure of this.
And as i said the version management and the version comparision can help you know the changes done in any report. in the version management only you can find the version comparision based on the requests.

Reload the Time series following the upgrade
    Adjust the Like profiles
If Old like profile to be used then must assign the planning area to every like profile
If Existing LIKE profile cannot be assigned to several planning area, You must create the LIKE profile for second planning area manuallt with new name
    Adjust the Phase-In/Out profile
If Existing Phase-In/Out profile cannot be assigned to several planning area, You must create the Phase-In/Out profile for second planning area manuallt with new name

Activate all Infocubes by executing the RSDG_CUBE_ACTIVATE report
Check/Adjust the palnning area Data source
Convert the Note Anchor tables - Execute /SAPAPO/TS_NOTES_CONVERT_40 Report
If inconsistence - execute /SAPAPO/TS_GEN_DOCTAB_CHECK report
Check the converted notes for interactive planning
You must create the DB tables for the planning object structure/planning area - using taransction /SAPAPO/RLGCOPY
Realignment and copying steps must be stored in new DB tables
Adjust planning object ID with /SAPAPO/TS_D_OBJECTS_COPY

  • Creation of New Table for Delivery Output Type.

    Hi Guys,
I need to replace an existing table by creating a new Table in the existing Access Sequence with the combination of "Ship to Party/Product Hierarchy".
Logistics>Shipping>basic Shipping functions>Output determination>Maintain Condition Tables-->maintain output condition table for deliveries.
I am choosing a new table by the name 902, but i am not getting the field " PRODH Product Hierarchy" on the right hand side to choose from.
I checked the field catelog also. Firstly the field catelog was also not having the field, and then i added the field in it by choosing new entries.
I guess i am missing some step in between, thats why the new field (PRODH) is not showing on the right hand side while creation of the condition table.
One more thing, when i am seeing the Field Catelog, i am able to see a very large number of fields, then why only a few are appearing during creation of a new table??????
Can you guys correct me and let me find a way.????
    Thanks very much indeed.
    Regards,
    Vivek

Hi If u have already the field in FC u can add with new entries .
Try with ,enter t- code <b>SE11</b>, enter <b>KOMB</b>- it will ask for access key get from basis and add u r Field catalog
Field catalog for condition key: output determination
If at all u want a new field tao add to u r FC u Can try with userexit.
1)ADDING OF NEW FIELDS IN PRICING
In Pricing in SD the fields on the basis of which pricing is done are derived from the FIELD CATALOG which is a structure KOMG .This structure is used to transfer transaction data to the pricing procedure in SD and is also known as communication structure. This structure KOMG consists of two tables KOMK for Header related fields and KOMP for item related fields.
The fields which are not in either of the two tables KOMK and KOMP
cannot be used in pricing .Sometimes a need arises when the pricing
is to be based on some other criteria which is not present in the form of fields in either of the two tables.
This problem can be solved by using USEREXITS which are provided for pricing in SD.
Pricing takes place both when the SALES ORDER ( Transaction VA01) is created as well as when INVOICING ( Transaction VF01) is done.Hence SAP provides 2 userexits ,one for sales order processing which is
    USEREXIT_PRICING_PREPARE_TKOMP  or
    USEREXIT_PRICING_PREPARE_TKOMK
Depending upon which table (KOMK or KOMP) the new fields were inserted we use either of the above two userexits. These userexits are found in include MV45AFZZ of the standard SAP sales order creation program SAPMV45A.
In the case of userexit which will be called when invoicing is done ,these
are provided in the include RY60AFZZ which is in the standard SAP
program SAPMV45A. The name of the userexits are same. i.e
    USEREXIT_PRICING_PREPARE_TKOMP  or
    USEREXIT_PRICING_PREPARE_TKOMK
These userexits are used for passing the data from the communication structure to the pricing procedure, for this we have to fill the newely
created field in the communication structure KOMG for this we fill the code in the above userexit using the MOVE statement after the data that
has to be passed is taken from the database table by using the SELECT statement. The actual structure which is visible in these userexits and which is to be filled for that particular field is TKOMP or TKOMK.
Before the coding for these userexits is done ,it is necessary to create a new field in either of the two tables KOMK or KOMP .For this purpose
includes are provided in each of them .
To create the field in header data(KOMK) the include provided is KOMKAZ
and to create the field in item data(KOMP) the include provided is KOMPAZ.
One possible example for the need of creating new fields can be e.g. Frieght to be based upon transportation zone ,for this no field is available in field catalog and hence it can be created in KOMK and then above userexits can be used to fill the transportation data to it.
2)The other method of finding userexit is to find the word USEREXIT in the
associated program of the transaction for which we want to determine userexit using SE38.
3)The other method of finding userexits is to find the include in case of SD/MM applications where the userexits are located ,this can be found in the SAP reference IMG generally in the subfolder under SYSTEM MODIFICATION.
Some other examples of userexits in SD are:<b></b>

  • SAP table for customer account balances by document currency

    Hi experts,
We have a requirement to produce a monthly customer statement by customer currency or customer's document currency. Example is that the company code local currency is USD and the customer currency is EUR. The customer will be allowed to carry over a balance to next period under a certain threshold so there will be a carry over beginning balance from the previous period which needs to appear on the statement. Transaction FD10N only displays customers balances in the local or company code currency which is USD in this example.
Question: Does anyone know if there is an SAP table that stores period beginning balances by customer account currency or customer's document currency?
We have not been able to find one and want to get additional input prior to building our own custom table.
Many thanks in advance for your assistance.
    Regards,
    NormaF

    Hi:
Make use of BAPI_AR_ACC_GETKEYDATEBALANCE to calculate customer opening balance. You need to develop Z report using table BSID and BSAD other SD related tables . There is not SAP standard report that shows the customer opening balance as carried forward from previous month.. You can make alteration for for showing balances in document currency.
    Regards

  • Trapped by the completely useless Modification Assistant !!!!!!!

    Hi all you SAP gurus
    Some background....
    Our system SAP r/3 4.7
We have a number of SAP screens we have modified to include functionality for Quick Address. The modifications were a couple of extra screen elements and a bit of code. This allows the user to populate address information via "Quick Address" into the sap address screen. This worked fine until the latest SAP support pack (SAPKB62070) amended the screens in question (Function Group SZA1 screens 0201 and 0301). The result of the support pack was that our bespoke code was replaced by the newly modified SPack code and screen changes. Modifcation assistant was on.
    The problem....
So we thought, easy, all we have to do is re-apply our bespoke code to the now changed screens. However, the Modification Assistant had decided that that's not going to happen !. The Modification Assistant refused to allow any editing of the screens at all. So we checked SPAU and found entries for SZA1 screens 0201 and 0301. We accepted the modifications for these objects in SPAU which created a  transport request. The entries in SPAU were cleared and we got the green tick. The Mofication Assistant proudly anounced modifications were now possible, Horray !
But No ! All the Modification Assistant had done was replace the support pack changes with the old code, it had lied, the objects were still unmodifiable. Now we had old unmodifiable code.
To fix this we used the version control to put the support pack changes back in. This worked, however, the entry in SPAU for these onbjects now returned so the Modification assistant now refuses to allow changes to the screens and code.
We are now in the fabled "Modification Assistant Loop of Death !" We cant modify because there are entries for these objects in SPAU. If we sort theses out it puts old code back in and we still cant modify anything. If we restore the correct version a new entry is created in SPAU preventing any further modification.
    And No....
We can't switch Moddifcation Assistant off for this object, It won't let us (so don't suggest that and expect any points !!!!)
My general perception of Modification Assistant....
A good idea, but appallingly implemented by SAP, it it is very far from "assisting"  anybody.
    Cheers,
Hugh "I do not like Modification Assistant" Gemmell

    Another issue with shuffle:
3 - The podcasts are not taken into account
That's because Podcasts are set to "Skip on shuffle". If you really wish to change that behaviour, in iTunes select the Podcast episode and choose *Get Info/Options* and turn off the tick-in-the-box for *Skip when shuffling.* Then Sync the iPod to make the changes on the iPod as well. (Skip on shuffle is the default and most Podcast listeners prefer it that way.)
Thanks, I wasn't aware of this option set by default. Don't see the point of having this option set as default... podcasts are not in the same spot by default... Anyway I know now what to do to shuffle my music and podcasts
    the fiend wrote:
I'm not sure I've understood your first post, about the shuffle feature. Are you doing this in iTunes or on your iPod? (Not that it should make any difference, they should work the same way.) If I have my iPod set to shuffle albums and I start the iPod playing at (for instance) track 3 of "an album", then it should play track 3, then 4 then 5 and so on to the last track of that album. It will not play tracks 1 or 2 from that album. Then it will start at track 1 of "another" album, at random and usually by another artist and play it from track 1 through to the last track. Are you expecting another album _by the same artist_ to be chosen at random? If so, try going into the menu as follows: *Main/Artist/<artist name>/(play).*
I am playing the songs on my computer, either the mac or the pc. When I set "shuffle by albums" I would expect iTunes to randomly choose an album in my library and then randomly play the songs of the album. I don't want it to pick the first song all the time and play the other ones in order.

  • Summary Tables for Asset Master?

I need to create an asset/insurance data report, using SAP Query, which shows the asset master record balances only (acquisition and posted depre'n) as at report selection date.
Are there any summary tables for fixed assets that are equivalent to GLT0, KNC1 and LFC1 for GL, Customer and Vendor?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
    Best regards,

I am not sure about ANEP or know how to use it.  It only has data records for the fiscal year when there is posting to acquisition values field u201CAmount postedu201D for the asset. No data records for other years with posted depreciation.

  • Table for WBS status change with date

    Hi,
Please assist me with a table name which should have WBS status with date on which statis was changed.
    Thanks,
    Manish.

    Hi
You can use program (SE38) RBSVCDOC to track these changes. Else go manually in CJ20N to track these status changes.
Use JCDS and JEST table for any other reporting on it.
*Kindly mark your thread once your query is resolved.*
