Table header repaint problem

I've got my own TableUI and TableHeaderUI. Everything is fine, but when I resize the table only rows are repainted, the header stayes the same until I click mouse at it. Can anyone find out what's wrong? Thanx.

  • Groupable + multiline table header paint problem

    hi, i try to make a groupable + multiline table header
    based on Nobuo Tamesama's code...
    there are some problems which i considered tolerable except one...
    the header didn't paint correctly when i set the autoResizeMode into autoresizemode_off
    and resize the columns pass the scrollpane width...
    thx in advance

  • Problem on Table Header

    I got a JTable and a TableModel to display data. Every things works fine. But when I try to reset the table model to empty, all the table rows gone but the table header still here. How can I remove the table header?(not disable it, just like setting a empty table model to a table)
    thanks

    I am not an expert, but my idea is get columnCount should return 0, to remove the headers as well.

  • JTableHeader repaint problem.

    I am trying to add some filtering funtionality to my swing application that uses a JTable by opening a JDialog on top of the JTable.
    What I want to do is to filter the JTable's datamodel, and call repaint() on the jtable and JPanel, and do jframe.pack();
    //update tableModel
    //repaint() jtable;
    //repaint() jpanel;
    //jInterFrame.pack();
    but the momment i close the JDialog, the table header grid is vanishing.
    What can be the problem?

    post a sample code

  • How can I right-align a table header?

    Does anyone know a way to right-align a table header?
    For example, in the table below I want the word 'Price' to be right-aligned. I could set the table's 'header renderer' to be a right-aligned DefaultTableCellRenderer, but then the header would look like a cell, not a header. Why can't swing be simple, like table.getColumn(1).setAlignment(Column.RIGHT) ????
    public class TestTableHeader {
         public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {
              JFrame frame = new JFrame("Test");
              Object[][] rowData = new Object[][] { { "General Electric", "$100.60" },
                        { "IBM", "$5.20" }, { "Wal-mart", "$17.00" } };
              JTable table = new JTable(rowData, new Object[] { "Name", "Price" });
              DefaultTableCellRenderer renderer = new DefaultTableCellRenderer();
              renderer.setHorizontalAlignment(DefaultTableCellRenderer.RIGHT);
              table.getColumnModel().getColumn(1).setCellRenderer(renderer);
              frame.getContentPane().add(new JScrollPane(table));
              frame.setSize(400, 300);
              frame.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.DISPOSE_ON_CLOSE);
              frame.setVisible(true);
    }

    I modified your code an came up with a solution to the problem.

    Can you please help me in solving this issue.
    Regards,
    Bala Baskaran.s

    Hi All,
    I have selected the the check box Insert Header Row in Subsequent Pages then also the header is not getting flowed in subsequent pages only till 2nd page its getting flowed.
    I have used table wizard to create table and i have made the table subform as flowed then also table header is not repeating in subsequent pages.
    MainForm (Flowed)
    TableSubform1(Flowed)
    Table1
    HeaderRow
    Row1
    TableSubform2(Flowed)
    Table2
    HeaderRow
    Row1
    I selected TableSubform1 and in Pagination tab OverFlow Leader dropdown i selected HeaderRow, the same i did for TableSubform2 also but the table header is not getting repeated in subsequent pages.
    Please help me in solving this problem.

  • Is there a way to make a "table header" a column instead of a row?

    I am making a 508 compliant pdf from a predesigned indesign document that has many tables in it. The table that I am having problems with doesn't have it's table header as a Row at the top of the table but instead a Column that runs down the left side like this example:
    To be read correctly in the pdf by screen readers the header needs to be included in the table but I don't know how to make a column a header, I have only found the option of making a row a header. Is there a way to do this or will I just have to retag and reorder the tags in the pdf after?
    Thanks!

    @Joel – ah, now I begin to understand.
    Slapbet wants to change the reading order in a two column table from:
    Usually:
    1  2
    3  4
    5  6
    to:
    1  4
    2  5
    3  6
    If so, you need two separate tables:
    One for column 1, one for column 2.
    Grouped together, anchored in a text frame with the flowing text.
    Could the every column is a single table construct work for you?
    Or is it necessary for what ever reason (besides editing) to work with a single table?
    A script could help to split every  column to a single table, making a group and anchor it to the text flow.
    Or did I misunderstand what the problem here is?

  • Image in a table-header

    Hello,
    I don't know why but I cannot place an image in one specific table-header.
    It works fine in my table-cells but in the table-header only the text appears.
    I thought i could place an image in a header, just like a text-string but that is not possible.
    Does anyone know how to handle that problem???
    Thank you so much

    Hi,
    either you use table.getTableHeader().setDefaultRenderer(yourRenderer) to set one renderer for all columns or you use table.getColumnModel().getColumn(index).setHeaderRenderer(yourRenderer) to set a renderer for individual columns.

  • How can i add a table header using DefaultTableModel?

    Im having problems finding examples of creating a table header using the DefaultTableModel. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
    so far i am able to create a table and add rows, but i need the first row to be the header with title and i am not able to do that with this model.
    Below is an excerpt of what i have thus far...
    JTableHeader header = new JTableHeader();
            checkOutTable.setModel(tableModel);
            checkOutTable.setRowSelectionAllowed(true);
    private DefaultTableModel tableModel = new DefaultTableModel(
                new Object [][] {
                        {"Item ID", "Title", "Type", "Serial ID", "Status", "Response", "Print"},
                    new String [] {
                        "TITLE 1", "TITLE 2", "TITLE 3", "TITLE 4", "TITLE 5", "TITLE 6", "TITLE 7"
                ){Class[] types = new Class[] { java.lang.Object.class,
                        java.lang.Object.class, java.lang.Object.class,
                        java.lang.Object.class, java.lang.Object.class,
                        java.lang.Object.class, java.lang.Object.class };
                public Class getColumnClass(int columnIndex) {
                    return types[columnIndex];
                }};

    Use the constructor that takes a Vector of column names and a row count.

  • How To Display Table Header in JTable

    Hi,
    I have a tree node that is a JTable. It displays the cells, but not the header or the left hand side of the table.
    Here is my code ...
    Anyone got any ideas?
    public SimpleTree() {
    super("Creating a Simple JTree");
    WindowUtilities.setNativeLookAndFeel();
    addWindowListener(new ExitListener());
    Container content = getContentPane();
    JTable table;
         String columnNames[] = { "OrderID", "CustomerID", "EmployeeID", "Order Date", "Shipped Date" };
         String dataValues[][] =
              { "34", "234", "67","12/02/2002", "16/04/2002" },
              { "-123", "43", "853","12/02/2002", "16/04/2002" },
              { "93", "89.2", "109","12/02/2002", "16/04/2002" },
              { "279", "9033", "3092","12/02/2002", "16/04/2002" }
         table = new JTable( dataValues, columnNames );
         table.setEnabled(true);
         table.isCellEditable(4,4);
         table.setShowHorizontalLines(true);
         table.setShowVerticalLines(true);
         table.getTableHeader().setForeground(Color.black);
         table.getTableHeader().setBackground(Color.lightGray);
         table.getTableHeader().setReorderingAllowed(true);
         table.getTableHeader().resizeAndRepaint();
         JTableHeader header = table.getTableHeader();
    header.setUpdateTableInRealTime(true);
    header.setReorderingAllowed(true);
         Object[] hierarchy =
    { "Orders",
    new Object[] { "Orders",
                                  table},
    new Object[] { "Prodcuts",
    new Object[] { "",
    table },
    "Employees",
    "Suppliers" };
         DefaultMutableTreeNode root = processHierarchy(hierarchy);
         JTree tree = new JTree(root);
         tree.putClientProperty("JTree.lineStyle", "Angled");
         tree.setCellRenderer(new MyTreeCellRenderer(table));
         tree.setCellEditor(new SimpleTreeCellEditor(table));
         tree.repaint();
         table.repaint();
         tree.setRowHeight(-2);
         tree.setEditable(true);
         content.add(new JScrollPane(tree), BorderLayout.CENTER);
         setSize(275, 300);
    setVisible(true);

    The column header is a different component of the table component. You can get this component directly and place it wherever you want in a container, just get them from the JTable:JPanel aPanel = new JPanel( new BorderLayout() );
    JTable myTable = xxx;
    aPanel.add( myTable.getTableHeader() , BorderLayout.NORTH );
    aPanel.add( myTable, BorderLayout.CENTER );

  • Repaint problem while clicking the popup menuitem

    Hi all,
    iam facing repainting problem in my application. User can initiate a single action from different options such as JButton, double-click of mouse and clicking the menu item form the JPopupMenu.
    All these will execute the same code. But when iam using the first two ways, the repainting is properly working and aim getting the required UI and opening the JInternalFrame.
    When the last case is being used(ie., clicking the menu item form the JPopupMenu), then the repaint is not working and the window being opened is coming in pieces and then finally i could see the window after some time, which is not the case with the first two cases.
    Please help me how to solve and get the window at once. Iam attaching the code.

    Don't post an IDE generated code as is. It's a torture for human eye. At least, you should rename
    all the identifiers to some meaningful names.
    You MUST use JDesktopPane when you use JInternalFrames.
    Here's a working code:

    Hey everybody, I have searched all over this forum and the net for an answer to this problem. I have a class that adds a JComponent to a JLayeredPane in the default layer. In another layer above the default layer is a JComponent that exists only to provide a 'pretty' image border with round corners that overlap the component below it. It works and looks very good. The only problem I have found is that if the JComponent that is added (in the default layer) is a JTable the cursor no longer changes to the resize cursor (<->) when mousing over the table header column edges. I can still resize the columns but I need to have the cursor change to indicate that the colums can be resized for user friendliness. I assume that the mouse events are getting trapped by the upper layer in the JLayeredPane and aren't reaching the JTable in the lower layer as they need to.
    I have tried swapping the two layers but when I do that the corners of the component that I want to add the border to overlap over the nice round corners of the border which defeats the purpose.
    If anyone has any suggestions, or even better a solution, that would be great!
    Thanks,
    Erik

    table.getTableHeader().setVisible(false); will
    help.This is necessary, but probably not quite sufficient for picky users. You may also want to set the min, max, and preferred dimensions of the table header to 0,0, otherwise you get what looks like a top-only border.

  • Nested Tables - Unable to make Table Header row to repeat in subsequent pages

    Hi,
    I am unable to make the header row to repeat in subsequent pages for nested tables.
    Can anyone reply with a sample form to illustrate a similar scenario?
    Thanks,
    Rohit

    Hi All,
    I have selected the the check box Insert Header Row in Subsequent Pages then also the header is not getting flowed in subsequent pages only till 2nd page its getting flowed.

  • Preserve the table header while scrolling table

    Hi,
    How do I preserve the table header (giving details of what column contains what data)-- I mean:   |
                            v
    Name      I-number       department
    to stay on the screen, and have only my table as scrollable?
    currently my table contains a lot of data and the second page on scroll comes with the problem of what each column on each row of data means.
    Thanks,
    Adi

    Hello Thomas,
    I am facing the same problem.To resolve this I made two containers one is transparent type for header column and another scroll container to display table contents.These two containers are inside the root container with the flow layout .
    But the prob is the table that is inside scroll cotainer is displaying in the next row instead of the new row.
    Is there any solution of this.
    Best Regards,
    Shikha

  • JTable with custom column model and table model not showing table header

    Hello,
    I am creating a JTable with a custom table model and a custom column model. However the table header is not being displayed (yes, it is in a JScrollPane). I've shrunk the problem down into a single compileable example:

    See http://download.oracle.com/javase/6/docs/api/javax/swing/table/TableColumn.html#setHeaderValue(java.lang.Object)
    When the TableColumn is created, the default headerValue  is null
    So, the header ends up rendered as an empty label (probably of size 0 if the JTable computes its header size based on the renderer's preferred size).nitpicking (can't resist - the alternative is a cleanup round in some not so nice code I produced recently <g>):
    - it's not the JTable's business to compute its headers size (and it doesn't, the header's the culprit.) *> - the header should never come up with a zero (or near-to) height: even if there is no title shown, it's still needed as grab to resize/move the columns. So I would consider this sizing behaviour a bug.*
    - furthermore, the "really zero" height is a longstanding issue with MetalBorder.TableHeaderBorder (other LAFs size with the top/bottom of their default header cell border) which extends AbstractBorder incorrectly. That's easy to do because AbstractBorder itself is badly implemented
