Table logging for SRGBTBREL

Hello,
I want to be able to log changes to table SRGBTBREL, the GOS relationship table.
We enabled the rec/client parameter and set the log changes flag on the SRGBTREL table.
This table now shows in the scu3 list as being logged.
But when I add an attachment or delete an attachment from a work order it does not show in the log.
I thought I might need the change docuemnt flag set on the data element so I set if for data element SIBFBORIID.
Still nothing shows in the log.
Does anybody have any idea what might be wrong ?
(ps. we want to be able to track changes (who, when, where, etc) for gos attachments in work orders, equipment, etc.)
Thanks
John

Thanks for the reply.
Actuially with table logging enabled for SRGBBTREL I do see table logs in DBTABLOG.
It does tell me user, date and time and whether it is a insert, delete.
But the piece I don't see is the link (e.g. attachment 'a' added to equipment 123 or
attachment 'b' deleted from work order 567).
I'll keep digging but if anyone has any ideas please reply.
Thanks
John

  • PCL4 TABLE LOG FOR INFOTYPE 2001 IS NOT WORKING IN QUA 070 CLIENT

    Heloo,
Could some one let me know the ways to capture the log of infotype 2001.
I have used PCL4 table to capture all the changes made to INFTY 2001.
This is working fine in DEV 070.
But not working in QUA 070.
Could someone let me know what is the problem and the solution.
Thanks a lot for your efforts.

    Hi Lata!
    I created the absences (T554S):
    Ps grouping, Absence type text
04,0100 VACATION WORKIN DAYS (quota working fine)
    34,0100 VACATION NATURAL DAYS
When I check your steps I have this information
    1. Absence type screen no. should be 2001.
I have checked in table T554S.
Screen number quota working fine: 2001
Screen number quota working bad: 2001
    2. Quota deduction should be selected in V_554S_Q table
Check quota deduction quota working fine: is checked
Check quota deduction quota working bad: is checked
    3. Check that in counting rule you have assigned correct deduction rule.
Counting rule for quota working fine: is 010
Counting rule for quota working bad: is 030
The counting rule 030 is created for me, maybe this is the problem is a similar copy of the rule 010. It has different conditions because in Psgroup "04" the vacations are working days but in group "34" the vacations are natural days.
    4. In deduction rule check whether correct quota no. you have maintained.
In deduction rule working fine the absence quota type is 10, standar leave, days
In deduction rule working bad the absence quota type is 30,                        ,days
I've checked the absence quota type and are similars:
    In 10 absence quota type
    ESG Time quota types: 1
PS Grpg tm Quota Typ: 01
    Absence quota type: 10
    Time/measurement unit: Days
    Time constraint class: 02
    In 30 absence quota type:
    ESG Time quota types: 3
PS Grpg tm Quota Typ: 02
    Absence quota type: 30
    Time/measurement unit: Days
    Time constraint class: 02
    What's wrong?
    Kind regards,
    Julian

  • Recording Differences in Long Text Changes via Table Logging and AUT10

    Hello,
I am trying to record changes to Long Text generated in a DMS DIR.  (This field is the Language Dependent Description field.)  We have set the system profile param rec/client.    We have enabled table logging for STXH & STXL in SE11.  When we make a change to the Long Text, we try to display the results in AUT10.  A change is indicated but when displayed, the text seems identical.
When displaying Logging status in RSTBHIST, the Active box for STXL is not checked despite the fact that we have set the "Log changes" box in SE11.
Note #573291 talks about installing a PH-ELR add-on.  Is that necessary if we are already running SAP_APPL 6.04?
Also, is Table Logging the best approach to capture these changes to Long Text?  Is there any way we could use Change Docs"?
The field width of DBTABLOG-LOGDATA = 16000 if that matters.
    Thanks for any responses.

    Tobias,
"You created a dynpro based transaction which allows you to change

    <b><u>This is correct.</u></b>
Below is the portion of HTML template code in which I'm defining the web screen pushbuttons, providing the pushbutton names, and linking same to the function codes defined in the R/3 transaction.
This is my first experience with ITS, so if I've missed something glaringly obvious, I apologize in advance.

  • Audit Log - Table Log

    Hi everyone,
Can anyone tell me if i activate table logging on a table (not customizing table) like MARC table, what information is saved in the system?.
Can I check or know, previous the audit log activation over this table, what fields or what information is recorded?
    thanks,
    HEPC

This is table logging for customizing type entries in not necessarily what you are looking for.
For master data you need to use the application change documents (table CDHDR etc) which is a different concept (I would use that route and protect the object S_ARCHIVE).
What you are actually looking for (and waiting for) is [the package concept at runtime|http://forums.sdn.sap.com/click.jspa?searchID=58483939&messageID=4675719] which developers can already see as warnings. It also means that the package which the table is assigned to must have a complete set of APIs.
I would personally not look for workarounds with performance impacts, but rather clean up the code to make it package concept conform, and then use the application change documents and not the table change records.
This is a better design - more sustainable, less hassles and auditable (via where-used-lists).
    My 2 cents,
    Julius

  • Table Logging

What is the best way to capture material determination changes?    The DBTABLOG table is 180GB in size so another way needs to be investigated other than setting on table logging for the material determination tables.
There is no built-in SAP change record functionality in VB11-VB13 like there is in (for example)  VK11-VK13,  price records.
I know this is a BASIS question but I cannot find a BASIS forum so I entered the question here because the tables are S/D tables.
    Thank you,

Why not do a quick test?
    SQL> create table t as select * from user_tables;
    Table created.
    SQL>
    SQL> create or replace
      2  procedure count_t as
      3     l_count number;
      4  begin
      5     select count(*)
      6     into   l_count
      7     from   t;
      8  end;
      9  /
    Procedure created.
    SQL>
    SQL> alter table t nologging;
    Table altered.
    SQL> select object_name, object_type, status from user_objects where object_name = 'COUNT_T';
    OBJECT_NAME                    OBJECT_TYPE        STATUS
COUNT_T                        PROCEDURE          VALIDAt least in this case, it doesn't invalidate it.

  • Active Table Logging T000 performance impact

    Hi fellow SAP experts,
I need some advice on system performance impact when switching on Table Logging for T000 - configuration in production please?
We have decided to turn on Table Logging for auditing purposes, only allowing developer config in production following a volume of evidence being supplied.
I need to know how much this activation is going to impact the performance of the companies production environments, how much storage, memory, performance, etc. this function is going to consume and how much of the above consumables I need to cater for now and in the future?
We have a Dual Track environment, BAU want to switch on Table Logging for fix on fail, I want to swich it on for Project deliveries.
Please advise, with referencing if possible?
    Thank you kindly
    Paul

    Hi Paul,
There has been a constant debate whether table logging affects the System performance, especially in Produciton environment. Please see my comments below :
    1) To turn on logging for table T000, you will have to activate the parameter rec/client, with values for one client or all the clients in the System depending on your requirement.
    2) This parameter setting will not only log changes to T000, but also for over 28000 tables.
    3) But these are customizing tables which usually contain a relatively small amount of data which is changed occasionally.
    4) After activating, if you suddenly find performance issues, you can check which tables are causing issues via transaction SCU3.
    5) You can go to transaction SE13 and deactivate logging for a table, if you find too many entries for any particular table in SCU3.
So, logging tables doesn't necessarily impact performance. Hope this helps. Please refer to SAP Note-608835 related to this.

    Savitha

  • Activate change logs for the table V_T007K

    Hi,
Change log check box is activated in table and change logs is activated in system. But still I am not able to view any change logs recorded for the table V_T007K using SCU3 transaction.
I tried by changing some data and than checked the SCu3 transaction. nothing is recorded against the table.
Please let me know what needs to be done to capture the change logs for the changes done to the data in the table V_T007k table.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Madhuri.

    Hi
The table u mentioned V_T007k  is not a transparent table
.its a view only for views u cant track changes.
But only for transparent tables u can only track changes thru SCU3
Also u can find the changes in a table from SAP TABLE
    CDHDR and CDPOS.
    if helpful reward me points.

  • Change logs for Z table.

    Hi All,
I am trying  to fetch the old value and new value for the z table field.Change log is activated for the Z table. but i dont know how to fetch the change logs.
SCU3 is the standard transaction to see the change logs for all the tables.
Is there any table where the change logs values are maintained?
Does anyone know how to get the change log value?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Amruta.

    Hello,
If for a specific set of tables no change documents are triggered by SAP you can always setup your own Change Document Object with transaction SCDO.
Of course you need to be careful with this transactions (how big is the table data, how many changes, etc...).
Table logging is something else, they are stored in table DBTABLOG and can be analysed via SCU3.
For table logging you need extra system parameters to be set, they are explained in SAP Note:
Note 1916 - Logging table changes in R/3
Pay attention with table logging because a lot of tables are logged in DBTABLOG once you activate the parameter, this can have a major impact on performance.
To have an idea what other tables will be logged, check tcode SE16 on table DD09L and put an 'X' in field PROTOKOLL, result will be thousands of tables.
In your specific scenario I think it is best you go for the change documents with SCDO.

  • DML Error Logging for underlying tables autocreated for dimensions

    Hi,
I have problems with logging errors during mapping for underlying tables that are automatically generated for creating dimensions. I know that DML Error Logging is supposed to work only on tables, views and materialized views, and I have tried it out using a pure table in a mapping without any reference to a dimension and specifying the error table name for it. This works perfectly. The error rows were captured correctly in the error table and the correct rows were also loaded successfully to the target table.
However when it comes to mapping to a dimension, I have some issues with that. I specified the shadowtable name for the underlying table(right clicking on the table in design center and then choosing configure), and after deploying I did check that the error table/shadow table and also the target table were indeed created in the database.
The problem lies now in the mapping because I am actually mapping to a dimension and not the underlying table the dimension references to. It seems that the mapping did not manage to capture details of the error table for the underlying table that the dimension was referencing to and thus were unable to capture the errors. Only the corrected rows get loaded and there were no error messages during the loading that suggests that the incorrect rows were detected.
    Would appreciate some assistance here.
    Thanks!
    WY

    Hi
The DML error logging feature in 10gR2 and 11gR1 was restricted purely to tables, so the dimension operator did not support it. This is now supported in OWB 11gR2 (plus there is the orphan management functionality).
    Cheers

  • Audit logs for tables

    Dear all,
I have a requirement of implementing audit logs for tables to insert, update, delete operations. Is there any way to achieve this since triggers are present only for insert, update and delete ?
    I am using database 9.2.0.3.
    thanks in advance.

    Hi,
After I turn on audit trail on the database sever and issue DML statment. I have found nothing in the audit table.
    1) Set "audit_trial" = true in teh init.ora file
    2) Run the $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/cataudit.sql
    3) Connect sys/password by sysdba and issue the following command:
    - AUDIT SELECT TABLE, UPDATE TABLE, INSERT TABLE, DELETE TABLE BY APPS BY ACCESS;
Do I need to re-set the database after step 1? or I have made some wrong.
    Thanks.

  • Audit logs for read operation on tables

I have a requirement of implementing audit logs for tables on read / select operation in addition to insert, update, delete operations. Is there any way to achieve this since triggers are present only for insert, update and delete ?
    thanks in advance

    Hi,
yes there are many ways you can audit the Source database according to your requirments. as you need to audit the select , insert etc you can audit in many ways
    1) By implementing policies , (i.e) FGA , or statement policy on a given table or a given user.
    2) you can also do the required task by implementing the alerts on specific conditions like select on a specifc table etc
you can use these utileties from AV console.

  • Log for changes in the SAP table

    Hello All,
I have a SAP table in which we want to log all the changes being made by the number of users like modifying some record or adding a new record.
Now What I have done is in the SE11 under technical settings I have checked the checkbox which is "Log data changes", Needless to say I have the developer access key to the system.
Now I want to test whether changes being made by me in the SAP table are logged somewhere or not I want to know where can we see the changes being logged made by me.
Is there a tcode to see the changes being made in the table or a SAP table exists for this.
    Thanks,

  • Change Logs for TCODE -- FILE

    Hi Friends,
Please help me in finding the change logs  for the TCODE  FILE,
i.e  The changes made to the Logical paths
I had tried  Utilities---->change logs , but unfortunately i cannot find any changes logs
But there are changes made to the logical paths in my system but i cannot see them in change logs
    thanks

rec/client is a profile parameter, you can view the settings in transaction RZ10.  However I find program RSPARAM more useful, the report lists all system parameters with their default and altered value.  Also if you double-click on a parameter you can get to the full help text for its meaning.
The parameter essentially switches on table change logging for configuration tables (based on the technical settings of the table) and has to be set before the changes are made.
    Hope this helps.
