Table taht store SAP tables relationship
Hi,
I am wondering if anyone can tell me which table in SAP that stores constraint relationship between SAP tables for example, the primary key and foreign keys in related tables. I would appreciate if anyone can help me with this.
Sunny
Thank you for your help. However, when I fetch data from DD05S, it
appears that TABNAME and FORTABLE have the same name most of the time.
This doesn't make sense.
For example, for the following query:

Is there any reason for mismatch in number of records in setup tables to sap tables. In sap table there are 150k records, when i filled the setup tables and checked in rsa3 with 10000 records and 20 extraction calls it gives me a max. of 81k records. since records are unique in sap table it should be same num in setup tables?Hello KuNaL,
How r u ?
From which Data Source u r extracting data ?
You r extracting in LO, so there may be many or some tables related to the extract structure.
You have to see the tables u checked are related to that extract structure or not. So, If u have checked many tables which are not related to that extract structure then there are chances of the mismatch.
Hope i am right... am i ?

Log for changes in the SAP table
Hello All,
I have a SAP table in which we want to log all the changes being made by the number of users like modifying some record or adding a new record.
Now What I have done is in the SE11 under technical settings I have checked the checkbox which is "Log data changes", Needless to say I have the developer access key to the system.
Now I want to test whether changes being made by me in the SAP table are logged somewhere or not I want to know where can we see the changes being logged made by me.
Is there a tcode to see the changes being made in the table or a SAP table exists for this.
Thanks,
MarkHi,

Is there any standard SAP table which stores the license number assigned to a delivery item
Hi Experts,
This is in relation to license number assigned to a delivery item under ‘Export License Log’. Our scenario is for delivery of type NLCC created for an inter-company stock transport order. (i.e.not a sales order case where the license may get copied from sales order to delivery through copy control)
As we understand, for legal control – relevant scenarios, export license for each item shall be determined afresh every time the delivery is accessed. (Depending on legal regulation, grouping, destination country, export control class, delivery partners vis-à-vis license master customer assignments etc.)
To print the license text on one of the delivery output types, we want to access the license number for each item. (determined under export license log)
Our question is: is there any standard SAP table which stores the license number assigned to a delivery item?
We have checked some of the license tables (T606*, VAEX, EMXX etc.) but couldn’t get any specific table storing delivery-item-specific license data.

Dont add such text in your postHi Lakshmipathi,
The export control log can be accessed by going to delivery Extras-> Export license log
We need a table that stores the determined license for each item in a delivery document ( as shown in the below screenshot)

Relationship between unknown SAP-TABLES
Hi Folks,
Lets take a scenario of populating an ouput internal table with fields from 4 unknown sap tables(relation between the tables is unknown). How can we check the relationship between those tables to populate the internal table..? What are the possible ways to check the relationship between tables..?
Can u please help me on this.
Thanks n regards,
ram.Hi <b>Ram</b>,
I tried the following method to find relation between tables and i think it is quite useful. I hope this will be of some use to you.
-> Goto SE11 and display one of the tables.
-> Click on the <b>Graphic</b> icon on the toolbar or use shortcut ctrlshiftF11
-> It displays all the related tables by foreign key and even gives you all check tables involved. If the list is a long one, you can even use <u>Find</u> option to check if the other tables you are trying to find relation with, exist in the screen.
Hope this Helps!! Do get back!!

Which SAP table stores the ABAP program Source Code
Hi All,
Which SAP table stores the ABAP source code .
Is it possible to retrieve the abap program code from database table
wherein it is stored .
Scenario :
In our project SAP got decommissioned and SAP database is migrated to Oracle . As SAP is decomissioned , we are not able to access the SAP frontend . But we need a program code to service a request . Is it possible to retrieve the program code from the database
which is migrated to oracle .
Thanks
ShikhaThis is an interesting question as the answer is may be different depending on your version. For example, in new releases the table REPOSRC appears to hold a compress version of the course code in the DATA field, but you would need to be able to decompress it if trying to read this directly out of the DB. I would assume that it uses gZip to do the compression, and there are ABAP utilities built in to do the compress/decompress. Of course you can always read the source code by using the READ REPORT statement in any release, but of course this will not help you if you can not log on to your system. Basically, if you system is corrupt for some reason, the best option is to restore from a backup.

Transparent Tables
A transparent table in the dictionary has a one-to-one relationship with a table in the database. Its structure in R/3 Data Dictionary corresponds to a single database table. For each transparent table definition in the dictionary, there is one associated table in the database. The database table has the same name, the same number of fields, and the fields have the same names as the R/3 table definition. When looking at the definition of an R/3 transparent table, it might seem like you are looking at the database table itself.
Transparent tables are much more common than pooled or cluster tables. They are used to hold application data. Application data is the master data or transaction data used by an application. An example of master data is the table of vendors (called vendor master data), or the table of customers (called customer master data). An example of transaction data is the orders placed by the customers, or the orders sent to the vendors.
Transparent tables are probably the only type of table you will ever create. Pooled and cluster tables are not usually used to hold application data but instead hold system data, such as system configuration information, or historical and statistical data.
Both pooled and cluster tables have many-to-one relationships with database tables. Both can appear as many tables in R/3, but they are stored as a single table in the database. The database table has a different name, different number of fields, and different field names than the R/3 table. The difference between the two types lies in the characteristics of the data they hold, and will be explained in the following sections.
Table Pools and Pooled Tables
A pooled table in R/3 has a many-to-one relationship with a table in the database (see Figures 3.1 and 3.2). For one table in the database, there are many tables in the R/3 Data Dictionary. The table in the database has a different name than the tables in the DDIC, it has a different number of fields, and the fields have different names as well. Pooled tables are an SAP proprietary construct.
When you look at a pooled table in R/3, you see a description of a table. However, in the database, it is stored along with other pooled tables in a single table called a table pool. A table pool is a database table with a special structure that enables the data of many R/3 tables to be stored within it. It can only hold pooled tables.
R/3 uses table pools to hold a large number (tens to thousands) of very small tables (about 10 to 100 rows each). Table pools reduce the amount of database resources needed when many small tables have to be open at the same time. SAP uses them for system data. You might create a table pool if you need to create hundreds of small tables that each hold only a few rows of data. To implement these small tables as pooled tables, you first create the definition of a table pool in R/3 to hold them all. When activated, an associated single table (the table pool) will be created in the database. You can then define pooled tables within R/3 and assign them all to your table pool (see Figure 3.2).
Pooled tables are primarily used by SAP to hold customizing data.
When a corporation installs any large system, the system is usually customized in some way to meet the unique needs of the corporation. In R/3, such customization is done via customizing tables. Customizing tables contain codes, field validations, number ranges, and parameters that change the way the R/3 applications behave.
Some examples of data contained in customizing tables are country codes, region (state or province) codes, reconciliation account numbers, exchange rates, depreciation methods, and pricing conditions. Even screen flows, field validations, and individual field attributes are sometimes table-driven via settings in customizing tables.
During the initial implementation of the system the data in the customizing tables is set up by a functional analyst. He or she will usually have experience relating to the business area being implemented and extensive training in the configuration of an R/3 system.
Table Clusters and Cluster Tables
A cluster table is similar to a pooled table. It has a many-to-one relationship with a table in the database. Many cluster tables are stored in a single table in the database called a table cluster.
A table cluster is similar to a table pool. It holds many tables within it. The tables it holds are all cluster tables.
Like pooled tables, cluster tables are another proprietary SAP construct. They are used to hold data from a few (approximately 2 to 10) very large tables. They would be used when these tables have a part of their primary keys in common, and if the data in these tables are all accessed simultaneously. The data is stored logically as shown in Figure 3.3.
Figure 3.3 : Table clusters store data from several tables based on the primary key fields that they have in common.
Table clusters contain fewer tables than table pools and, unlike table pools, the primary key of each table within the table cluster begins with the same field or fields. Rows from the cluster tables are combined into a single row in the table cluster. The rows are combined based on the part of the primary key they have in common. Thus, when a row is read from any one of the tables in the cluster, all related rows in all cluster tables are also retrieved, but only a single I/O is needed.
A cluster is advantageous in the case where data is accessed from multiple tables simultaneously and those tables have at least one of their primary key fields in common. Cluster tables reduce the number of database reads and thereby improve performance.
For example, as shown in Figure 3.4, the first four primary key fields in cdhdr and cdpos are identical. They become the primary key for the table cluster with the addition of a standard system field pageno to ensure that each row is unique.

Can u pls give examples for pool & cluster tables in sap.
& diff between pool & cluster table.
Thanks
Rahul.Hi Rahul,
Transparent Table:
Exists with the same structure both in dictionary as well as in database exactly with the same data and fields.
Pooled Table:
Pooled tables are logical tables that must be assigned to a table pool when they are defined. Pooled tables are used to store control data. Several pooled tables can be cominied in a table pool. The data of these pooled tables are then sorted in a common table in the database.
Cluster Table:
Cluster tables are logical tables that must be assigned to a table cluster when they are defined. Cluster tables can be used to strore control data. They can also be used to store temporary data or texts, such as documentation.
A transparent table is a table that stores data directly. You can read these tables directly on the database from outside SAP with for instance an SQL statement.
Transparent table is a one to one relation table i.e. when you create one transparent table then exactly same table will create in data base and if is basically used to store transaction data.
A clustered and a pooled table cannot be read from outside SAP because certain data are clustered and pooled in one field.
One of the possible reasons is for instance that their content can be variable in length and build up. Database manipulations in Abap are limited as well.
But pool and cluster table is a many to one relationship table. This means many pool table store in a database table which is know as table pool.
All the pool table stored table in table pool does not need to have any foreign key relationship but in the case of cluster table it is must. And pool and cluster table is basically use to store application data.
Table pool can contain 10 to 1000 small pool table which has 10 to 100 records. But cluster table can contain very big but few (1 to 10) cluster table.
For pool and cluster table you can create secondary index and you can use select distinct, group for pool and cluster table. You can use native SQL statement for pool and cluster table.
A structure is a table without data. It is only filled by program logic at the moment it is needed starting from tables.
A view is a way of looking at the contents of tables. It only contains the combination of the tables at the basis and the way the data needs to be represented. You actually call directly upon the underlying tables.
