Table View in Query Designer is not avaliable
Hi Guru:
The "table view" in the menu item "View" is grey in the query designer.
I have only 1 structure ( key figure structure ) in my query.
How to change it to the "Table View" mode then?
Thanks.
Eric
Hi
Please create another structure in your query. Once you have 2 structures then only table view will be enabled.

I am trying to edit the default forms/reports that come with CM14, trying to edit the data model, data set, (to get to the old Infomaker style graphic view) , the Query model does not display (error the list of tables is too long..) Oracle tell me the limit is 60, there are not 60 tables referenced in any CM report.
Does this Query builder view work at all on any report?
(bigger question, we are moving from CM12, should we move to CM13 which works with infomaker?)
Thanks,
Paul LKurt, thanks for your replies.
A couple of notes/clarifications.
1. You are correct that BI works better in Firefox--I have observed issues with the BI display when using IE. I would recommend using Firefox too.
2. You are correct about the way to get to the Query Builder to see a graphical view of data tables. There are basically two issues with this that I mentioned, but will re-iterate:
a. If you have an EXISTING query in the data set, then click the "Query Builder" button, this will remove the existing query that's there, it will NOT display the existing query in the query builder. Query Builder works only to create a NEW query from scratch.
b. Query builder is limited to selecting 60 fields max in your query. If you are creating a large report with many tables, you may find that 60 fields is not enough. For that you will have to work in the SQL edit screen rather than using the query builder.
I would impress on anyone developing CM14 reports that they become familiar with the database schema and relationships to avoid problems when developing your BI reports. You should be able to find the tables and joins documentation in the knowledgebase. -
PLS-00357: Table,View Or Sequence reference 'A' not allowed in this context
Hello
I am accepting input values from users through java web page. To accept the values I am using the following code:
import java.sql.*;
import javax.sql.DataSource;
import javax.naming.*;
public class spsrch
public void spsrch()
public String espsrch(String p, String d, String a)
String s1= "";
String strColor="#C0C0C0";

InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext();
DataSource ds = (DataSource)ctx.lookup("java:comp/env/jdbc/Oracle9i");
Connection Con = ds.getConnection();
Statement stmt = Con.createStatement();
CallableStatement proc1stmt1=Con.prepareCall ("{call Allsch("+p+","+d+")}");
// ResultSet rs = proc1stmt1.execute();
proc1stmt1.executeUpdate();
Con.close();
catch(Exception e)
System.out.println("Flag Raised"+e);
return s1;
I am calling the procedure 'Allsch' to apply some logic before inserting data into a SQL table.
The 'Allsch' procedure is :
create or replace procedure tmpsch(pno varchar2,pdes varchar2) as
mpartnum varchar2(30);
mpn varchar2(30);

insert into tmpcat values(mpno1,mdescription,maircraft_type,mstat1,mstat2,mstat3,mstat4);

Something tells me you might need some quotes in this statement since they are varchar2. Maybe
"{call Allsch('"+p+"','"+d+"')}"
If this doesn't work try to cut off parts of the procedure until it works.

Hi,
can you please tell .
In the tcode:RSRT1 we have View What does it mean?
Can we create views in query designer?
Can we use the dictionary views in query designer?
Can you please tell about?
Regards
NareshHi Naresh.
RSRT1 is used to view the output of queries as well as views.
This is the reason why you see the option to input view.
the difference between RSRT and RSRT1 is as follows
rsrt allows only queries to be executed and provides output in List as well as HTML format
rsrt1 allows you to execute views as well as queries and in HTML format.
hope this helps,

Note that where you had the substitution variable, there is now a literal value, q in my case. Note that because I did not respond with y for the value of continue I can safely run this procedure.
SQL> exec p;

Deletion of QUery view via Query Designer or via Web interface
Hi,
We have deployed SAP BI 7 with Web access only for user.
Only some Key users are allowed to use Query Designer.
In fact, all users can create view through Web analyzer. However, they have no way to delete these views.
It appears that view deletion is only available through Bex Analyzer...
Does anybody know a way to delete view from Web analyzer or at least through query designer ?
Thanks for your answers,
Regards
Erickhi,
If you want to delete the view in web then you need to change your web template

There was one other thread from years ago detailing this same problem. The only clue was to check whether select all privs were enabled for the user on dba_objects. They are for the user accessing the system. In fact, all tables/views/procs/funcs can be viewed in the tree view of DBVisualizer. For whatever reason, OSD does not show anything.
I'd appreciate any clues! Thank you!
OSD Version Version 4.1.0.18
OS: Windows 7/64
Java: 1.8.0
Connecting to Oracle 11g 11.2.0.3.0Thank you, Gary.
I updated the post with the version info. I did not explicitly install this JDBC driver, so whatever the OSD came with? Unless it is using whatever is installed on my machine, in which case would be the thin driver.
I did check out that post, and I appreciate you sharing it. I did click the 'include synonyms' filter, but behavior remained unchanged.
I would prefer to use OSD, and that is what our dev team was expecting to use, but we just can't see the information. We are using an ID that does not 'own' those tables, per se. But, why would DBVisualizer show these tables, when OSD does not? -
The BI report created by Query designer does not display all columns
Dear Experts,
I have created a BI report using the Query Designer.
When I execute the query, only 6 columns have been displayed.
The total columns are 12. I need to display all 12 columns at the first instance.
Could any one help me to resolve this problem?
Thank you very much!
ArthurHi Athul,
Thanks for your reply.
There is not marked for '.Supress Zero' in the Rows and Columns.
And I did not check for 'Hide repeated values' in the Display tab.
Any other place you could suggest to verify?
Thanks

Link to Web Analyzer from rsrt or query designer does not work.
If I start with the transaction RSRT a query in the Java Web would get the following error message:
Java Runtime Error
But if I had started earlier browser, the portal there is no problem. Is this a SSO problem?
The same problem I have when I would run in the Bex Query Designer the query.
Greetings
KerimHi,
Do you have all the parameters correct in SPRO? Take a look at this, under the BW Customizing -> REporting relevant settings or BW Customizing -> SAP Web Application Server.
I dont remember the right place where you have to configure this, but it should be there.
The error is just "Java Runtime Error"? Try to talk with your Basis team, maybe there is a log to help you.

Materialized Views with Query Rewrite is not getting re-written
I have tried everything that has been mentioned in all the forums here and on metalink to fix this issue, has any smart APEX user found a solution?
The issue is the MV with Query rewrite capability is not being re-written.
Things I have tried
1) give all Query Rewrite privileges to all 3 APEx schemas and parsing schema;
2) check trace files with tkprof;
3) dynamically printed explain plan from v$_SQL on the page while executing the query;
4) to test in a different environment i created an another DAD using the pl/sql webtool kit and tried the same thing and rewrite works like a charm...
whats the issue here...why are apex schemas not re-writing the queries????
appreciate any help...thanksJes, per your request

Please check i have activated all services in SICF and SMICM - all the services is running
and i have added the icm/hsotnamefull in the instance profile also.
is there any thing missing.
Whether PI/Xi is to be also installed and u think it is necessry to configure SLD?

balajiJapnese yen is maintained in units of 100. Check the entry in TCURX table for Yen. That is why the value is getting multiplied by 100 and getting displayed.
JPY (Japanese Yen) and others have a 0 in the TCURR-CURRDEC field which means 0 decumals. SAP applications will process amounts in these currencies by dividing the input value by 100 for storing in tables. Then, when being displayed, it will do a conversion exit and multiply the stored table value by 100 to show the correct amount.
SAP stores currency values in a data type that has a fixed interpretation of two decimal places. There are some currencies that do not work well with that setting. Usually that is because for some currencies , a fraction o the currency unit is meaningless. That is true of the Japanese Yen, the Turkish Lira, Korean Won and many other currencies whose value is often 10 US cents or less.
Here's a full explanation of the decimal issue in SAP. It is not just
limited to BW but is a system-wide situation.
1. By default there are two decimals on the data base, e.g. 123.45
2. When there is no corresponding entry in TCURX, these two decimals
are displayed in the query.
3. When there is an entry in TCURX, it determines the division factor
when reporting. (default = 2)
Example TCURX = NO ENTRY: Database entry = 123.45
There is no division
The above number is displayed as 123.45
Example TCURX = 3: Database entry = 123.45
There is a division by 10 (because 3 - 2 = 1).
The above number is displayed as 12.345.
example INR currency.
Example TCURX = 0 Database entry = 123.45
There is a division by 0.01 OR Multiplication by 100 -
Single select option in table view as radio button without design
Hi,
When I use the Content design = "Design2002" or design = "Design2003" then I get a checkbox in table view by giving the single select option. But when I do not use any design for the Content then I get a radio button in the table view.
How do I get a radio button in the table view with Content Design = "Design2002" or design = "Design2003"?

Later this afternoon I will check your question with a colleague for an answer. We are all offsite today.
Until then, it would be good if you review your questions Tableview radio button event..

Master data is not getting displayed in the Query Designer
Hi,
I have a DSO in which I have an InfoObject called Emp No. in the Data Field.
The Emp.No is being maintained as master with (Emp Name, Address, Telephone No, DOB) as attributes.
I have loaded the data in the Emp. No. master. Then tried loading the transaction data in DSO.
The Emp.No is there in the DSO active data, but in the query designer its not getting displayed.
Hope its clear.
Please help.
ThanksHi,
I have brought the Emp. No. in the Key Field and also have activate the master data again.
Yet my Query Designer doesn't have the Emp. No.
I have done a full load for both Master and Transaction.
Please advice me what the other alternative.

Thanks in advance...Hi,
Your procedure's signature is
CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE DWARE.P_CSCV_AGR_MONTH_REVENUE
TBL_NAME VARCHAR2,
START_DATE DATE,
RESULT_ OUT NUMBER
) i.e. it is expecting two input parameters, TBL_NAME in VARCHAR2 format and the other START_DATE in DATE format. Also you need a variable with data type as NUMBER to hold the value of OUT parameter RESULT_
Now look at the way you are calling this procedure
BEGIN
DWARE.P_CSCV_AGR_MONTH_REVENUE(CSCV_AGR_MONTH_REVENUE,'01/01/2010');
END;
/first parameter has to be a VARCHAR2, so enclose CSCV_AGR_MONTH_REVENUE into single quotes.
second parameter should be a date, so use to_date() function.
Lastly declare a variable with data type as Number for holding value of out parameter RESULT_
Something like this :
declare
t_num number;
begin
a('CSCV_AGR_MONTH_REVENUE',to_date('01/01/2010','MM/DD/YYYY'),t_num);
dbms_output.put_line(t_num);
end;Vivek L -
