Table without Key column

Hi guys,
I am almost stuck with one report requirement which is to remove duplicate records. Duplicate records come from a table which does not have any Primary key/Foreign key/Unique constraint and that's why so many repeating records.
Now one of these columns is used in a join to extract other information from different tables. But when i try to fetch using DISTINCT query goes in infinite loop and does not respond.
Can anybody suggest me a solution to this problem at BO level? Do I tell Business analyst that the source of problem lies in the table without any key.?

of daily capture and final data tables on these two key columns. Then I delete the rows in the daily capture table which match the #temp table. Then I insert the remaining rows from daily capture into the final data table.
Would it be possible to simplify this process by using an Instead Of trigger in the final table and just insert directly from the daily capture table? How would this look?
What is the best practice for inserting unique (new) rows and ignoring duplicate rows (rows that already exist in both the daily capture and final data tables) in my particular operation?

Then the "capture table" is not a table at all! Remember the fist day of your RDBMS class? A table has to have a key. You need to fix this error. What ETL tool do you use?

MERGE statement; Google it. And do not use temp tables.

Loading source tables without common columns using owb

Dear All,
I have 5 tables say a,b,c,d,e who has no columns between any of these tables .but i need to poulate some of the columns in each table as per my requirement and
i need to load into my target table which needs the above tables source columns data .
how can we achieve this as we dont have any columns across 5 tables.

OMPLUS retrieve table primary key column

I'm trying to retrieve the primary key column associated with a table via OMBPLUS.
The following command successfully returns the PK name
OMB+> OMBRETRIEVE TABLE 'ODS_REGION' GET PRIMARY_KEY
REGN_PKWhen I add the GET COLUMNS clause (as per API documentation), I'm still only getting the pk name.

REGN_PKAny suggestions on what I might be doing wrong?

Worked it out. Syntaxt needed is:

Here's another way, that only requires one pass throught the view:

4. I think problem maybe is related with row key, but I need end user to change rowkey column value. does it allow changing the value of column as row key? I found this problem maybe only occur for new created row. For those existing rows, even I change the value of row key column, no such problem occurred, how do I handle this situation?

I didn't create master records, I just used joint queries for information display of both master and detail. I am trying to create a row in the UI table to create a new detail record and master record already exists.
The row key for new added row in UI rich table is [21 null ], row key of detail records table composes of 2 columns. 21 is for FixedSlotId and null is for SlotFromN. when I provide a new value for SlotFromN column in UI rich table, problem will occur.

MERGE - WHEN MATCHED (for a table with 2 column that are the keys)

I am using merge to insert/update a table whenever new records come in.
My question is if the table has 2 columns and both are a part of the primary key, do I need to have the merge statement "when matched" as well? Since both the columns are part of the key, when matched wont make sense here. I will only need when not matched, then insert.

Views don't have primary keys though their underlying tables might. You'd need to pick apart the view to determine where it's columns are coming from.
You can select the text of the view in question from user_views.

REMOVE_ELEMENT in a Table with ( tree by key Column )

Designed a table with Tree by key column ( a Normal table with tree )
In one of the row there is a Drop down field provided for selection.
We have delete button provided to the customer.
In this delete button handeled removing the Lead selected row using the method REMOVE_ELEMENT of COntext_node.
so in the context node if we are having 15 elements. The particluar hierarchy selected can have minimun 4 elements
In the UI display the total node( total hierarchy node) is getting deleted but in the debugging mode the node is having 14 elements.
Kindly suggest how to handle it so that in the node also i have the total hierarchy deleted.

For this you need write the logic. If you are deleting a context element of ID say 'ROW1', then you need to take care of deleting all the context element which has parent key as 'ROW1'.

Add a dummy column in your measure section.
then in pivot view --> measure section --> dummy column -->more options -> format heading -->custom css style --> mark use custom css and give display:none
and
more options -> format measure values -->custom css style --> mark use custom css and give display:none

Data fetch from table without Refresh and without using tab key.

hi Friends,
I have a problem i want to extract data from table without Refresh into text field without using Tab key. when i'll enter any value in a text field then corressponding value should come in to corressponding textfield without using Tab Key.
eg. when i enter emp_id 101 in a text field then the first_name and last_name ,adress should come in to corressponding text fields without refresh and without using Tab key.
How Can I do this.

I assume that this is similar to: Data fetch without Refresh rather than Re: Value of one textfield should come into another textfield Without Using TAB ?
If so, the only change you need to make on the first one is to use "onkeyup" instead of "onchange" in the item's "HTML Form Element Attributes" setting.
Note, however, that the user must move away from the item at some point (for example, to click a button), so the onchange will be triggered anyway.

Key column in an internal table?

Hi all,
Can somebody tell me, if it is possible to create an internal table with a key-column?
I think it is, but I do not know how? So, How can I make it? Does this keys work exactly like DB table keys?

I'm not sure if it is correct that sorted tables can only have unique keys.
The table keys are important for access:
1. Every table with character fields have got a key by (SAP) definition. An unsorted standard table's key consists of all non-numeric fields. In this case the access will be sequential except for a binary search.
2. Sorted tables may have one unique or non-unique key consisting odf one or more fields. If the key is not unique, the entry with the lowest index is accessed.
3. Only Hash tables require a unique key
4. Only one key per internal table is allowed (no secondary keys as in other programming languages or database definitions).

Knowing the primary key columns of the given table

You can find the constraint_name from all_constraints/user_constraints for constraint_type = 'P' (which is the primary key constraint).
And then see which columns are in for the constriant_name
in all_cons_columns/user_cons_columns view.
Below is the example
select acc.column_name from
all_cons_columns acc, all_constraints ac
where acc.constraint_name = ac.constraint_name
and acc.table_name = 'DEPT' AND acc.owner = 'SCOTT'
and ac.constraint_type = 'P'

CDG-01141 ERROR: Module Component Table Usage ... Table usage ... requires primary key column for referential integrity

For some strange reason when I modified a form, (commented out some code in a when-window-activated trigger) I now get the following error.
CDG-01141 ERROR: Module Component Table Usage GR1130A.CUSTOMER.GR_CUSTOMER.GC: Table usage GR_CUSTOMER requires primary key column for referential integrity
I am sure this is not related to my change, but do not know what may have caused this or how to fix it.
Anyone seen this error before? been able to fix it?

You know that Developer/Designer 6i is not certified for Windows 7, right? Also, your version is not the latest one, so you can try to install the latest patch set first.

Check if there is a PK in the table definition (not in the database, but in Designer).
