Tablespace creation error.

Hi,
we have created the temporary tablespace PSAPTEMP1 for the index creation.
CREATE TEMPORARY TABLESPACE "PSAPTEMP" TEMPFILE '/archive/temp' SIZE 51200M EXTENT MANAGEMENT LOCAL UNIFORM SIZE 10240K;
ALTER USER PSAPPRD TEMPORARY TABLESPACE PSAPTEMP1
but when we use the 2nd query to use for the index creation, but for the index creation it is using the old tablespace PSAPTEMP.
could any one suggest how do we make use of the newly created tablespace for the index creation.
This we are doing live PRD system with the down time.
My number: is 0 98861 45002 else you give me your number I will call you.
please do the needful.
Many Thanks,

Hi Martin,
i think you are wrong. alter database default temporary ... will affected all users:
< sys:op33@syse > select USERNAME, DEFAULT_TABLESPACE, TEMPORARY_TABLESPACE from dba_users where username = 'SDN';
USERNAME                       DEFAULT_TABLESPACE             TEMPORARY_TABLESPACE
SDN                            SYSTEM                         PSAPTEMP
1 Zeile wurde ausgewählt.
< sys:op33@syse >  alter database DEFAULT TEMPORARY TABLESPACE TS_USER_temp;
Datenbank wurde geändert.
< sys:op33@syse >  select USERNAME, DEFAULT_TABLESPACE, TEMPORARY_TABLESPACE from dba_users where username = 'SDN';
USERNAME                       DEFAULT_TABLESPACE             TEMPORARY_TABLESPACE
SDN                            SYSTEM                         TS_USER_TEMP
1 Zeile wurde ausgewählt.

  • Oracle 8.1.7.4 on redhat 7.3 : tablespace creation never ends

    Hi,
    We're running Oracle 8.1.7.4 on Redhat 7.3. System memory is 256 MB (2x128).
    After increasing memory to 1Go (2x512) we're facing a strange problem.
    Tablespaces re-creation hangs, we first drop and then create tablespaces reusing datafiles :
    DROP TABLESPACE TST1 INCLUDING CONTENTS CASCADE CONSTRAINTS;
    DROP TABLESPACE TSI1 INCLUDING CONTENTS CASCADE CONSTRAINTS;
    CREATE TABLESPACE TST1 DATAFILE '?/tst1.dbf' SIZE 1050M REUSE DEFAULT STORAGE (MAXEXTENTS 121 PCTINCREASE 1);
    CREATE TABLESPACE TSI1 DATAFILE '?/tsi1.dbf' SIZE 700M REUS
    E DEFAULT STORAGE (MAXEXTENTS 121 PCTINCREASE 1);
    In the alert.log, drops and first tablespace creation are completed.
    Second tablespace is not created and the oracle process keeps running consuming 99% CPU.
    strace on process after hangs shows nothing.
    Using toad, we see that last sql command issued by session is insert into $ts.... there's no current statement.
    Everything works fine if we set memory back to 256 MB.
    This problem first appeared in production environnement, and we got same problem in dev environnement, so it happens on several servers (Compaq ML370).
    Got no idea, what else could we check to find where's the bug ? Should we tune some oracle or kernel parameters after increasing mem ?

  • Tablespace creation problem

    Hi All ,
    I am getting an error when I try to create a tablespace.
    SQL> create tablespace test1
    2 datafile 'F:\datafile\test1.bdf'
    3 size 1500k
    4 extent management dictionary ;
    create tablespace test1
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-12913: Cannot create dictionary managed tablespace
    Please help

    check the version on which u are working in,
    while creating the database itself the tablespace mangement is set to local in case of 10g, so u cant create another tablespace .
    if this problem is occuring in the creation of tablespace itself then check the innit.ora file
    cheers :)

  • R-tree index creation error

    I'm getting the following error when trying to create an r-tree index:
    create index new_gps_idx on gis.new_gps (geometry) indextype is mdsys.spatial_index PARAMETERS('TABLESPACE=INDX')
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-29855: error occurred in the execution of ODCIINDEXCREATE routine
    ORA-06512: at line 1
    I get the error regardless of which tablespace I specify.
    I can however create fixed quad-tree indexes with the following command, in the same tablespace:
    create index new_gps_idx on gis.new_gps (geometry) indextype is mdsys.spatial_index PARAMETERS('SDO_LEVEL=4');
    The error is defined as:
    ORA-29855 error occurred in the execution of ODCIINDEXCREATE routine
    Cause: Failed to successfully execute the ODCIIndexCreate routine.
    Action: Check to see if the routine has been coded correctly.
    I have created one r-tree index on a large spatial table, 5633 geometries, in the INDX tablespace. I am not able to create another one.
    The INDX tablespace is only 2% used and its size is 200MB.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi David,
    Can you try applying the patch (if you haven't already)? Unfortunately I can't rememeber the details of what the symptoms were, and although the patch kit describes a fix there is no corresponding bug in Oracle's bug database. If I remember correctly there was a bug in the values the r-tree code was using for intermediate (temporary) tables created during r-tree index creation.
    Sorry I can't pin this down for you.

  • Ora-12914: cannot create dictionary tablespace during tablespace creation.

    Hi All,
            I am new to Database and trying to create the dictionary tablespace in Database but its showing error like ora-12914: cannot create dictionary tablespace during tablespace creation.
    Do i need to set any parameter for this error?
    Please let me know the cause for this error.
    Regards
    Narender B

    Hi
    from doc.
    12914, 00000, "Cannot migrate tablespace to dictionary managed type"
    // *Cause: Attemp to migrate locally managed tablespace to  dictionary managed
    //         type when the database has locally managed system tablespace.
    // *Action: Command cannot be issued.
    $
    If system tablespace (I think from release 10g) is local management, all tablespaces must be local, dictionary is not possible

  • Download Helper, even with paid converter upgrade, gives "Invalid Capture File" errors and will not record audio, with "File Creation Error - Unable to rename/copy audio file" Error.

    Download Helper Screen Capture worked to capture video if the default "no audio" option is active. But, no audio. The "speakers" or "microphone" audio options are confusing....the audio to be captured is from the video, so what do you choose? With either "speakers" or "microphone" selected, the captured file has poor audio and no video. Re-capture efforts (speakers) get "Invalid capture file error" and "File Creation error- Unable to rename/copy audio file"
    The paid upgrade of "Converter" doesn't work.
    Instructive documentation - not very good.
    Suggestions - Need time delay between initiation of "Record" and starting the video to be recorded.
    Could use timer tracking of the record process.
    Are there operating system limitations? (Have Windows XP Pro)

    That is an issue for the developer of that Download Helper.

    oracle 8i ouch.........that's desupported, but anyways........
    check your SHMMAX to see may be it's limiting the use of memory

  • Service Contracts Billing Schedule Creation Error

    Hi,
    I have a requirement of creating service contracts from back-end for which I am using the oks_contracts_pub.create_contract_header, create_service_line, and create_bill_schedule. I am creating my contracts with active status and renewal type of EVN (Header level), FUL(Line Level). My contract is of type subscription. The contract header and line are creating fine but the Bill schedule API is throwing an UNEXPECTED ERROR. The billing schedules need to be created based on accounting rule which can be quarterly or monthly. I have included the bill schedule code (hard coded values) for review. Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Also the version I am working on is R12

    Hi Vicky,
                   Check If the Customer number(Plant) has been maintained in the vendor master record control data and the vendor should also be maintained in the customer master data. Once you maintain this system determines the shipping point based on the  customer master and the shipping data missing. Kindly try delivering after maintaining these and let me know If you need any more information on this.

  • Child creation Error on vms HELP

    Hi,
    Iam trying to execute a file from withing a java program on VMS This is my code
    public class BAMBOE {
      public static void main(String[] args) {
        BamboeRunner boe = new BamboeRunner();
        boe.start();
    import java.io.*;
    public class BamboeRunner extends Thread implements Runnable {
      public void run() {
        try {
          Process process = Runtime.getRuntime().exec("@SIMPEL");
          process.waitFor();
          return ;
        catch (Exception e) {
          e.printStackTrace();
          return ;
    }But I keep getting the following error:
    java.io.IOException: Child creation error: error 100052

            at java.lang.Runtime.exec(Compiled Code)
            at BamboeRunner.run(Compiled Code)Anybody that can help me fix this problem please??

    I've managed to get somewhere with this...
    I've got it to work by having the system command I want to run in a com file and specifying the full path to that file in the exec method without the '@'...
    e.g.
    Process proc = Runtime.getRuntime.exec("ppoi_dev:[user.dba_ppoi.matt.proc]proc.com");
    where the file
    ppoi_dev:[user.dba_ppoi.matt.proc]proc.com
    contains
    $ dir
    When I run this I can get the output from the dir command by reading from the InputStream of the Process object.
    Have fun.

    Hi all, i have tried to define a new VIP on my ORACLE 11gR2 RAC cluster, in order to manage third-party component by using ORACLE Clusterware.
    I have used the info written on the ORACLE manual "Oracle Clusterware Administration and Deployment Guide E10717-04" at page 5-15.
    I have executed the command "/u01/app/grid/bin/appvipcfg create -network=1 -ip=xx.xxx.xxx.140 -vipname=appsVIP -user=root", as the manual says, from root user.
    My environment is AIX 6.1.
    Unfortunately, i get an error (reported following) but i am not able to solve it.
    Please, may you help me?

    Hi,
    On Solaris 10 and Oracle Grid Infrastructure 11.2.0.2 did the following. Posting this as it might be useful to someone else. Installed Grid Infrastructure as oracle.
    As root:
    # ${GRID_HOME}/bin/appvipcfg create -network=1 -ip=<vip_address> -vipname=<vip_name> -user=root
    In the above command, if you are wondering what -network=1 is, got useful info from "Oracle GoldenGate high availability using Oracle Clusterware" white paper at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/goldengate/overview/ha-goldengate-whitepaper-128197.pdf
    As per the white paper, if you do
    crsctl status resource -p | egrep -i 'network|subnet' | egrep -i 'name|subnet'
    output will look something like this:
    NAME=ora.net1.network
    USR_ORA_SUBNET=10.2.0.0
    net1 in NAME indicates this is network 1, and second line indicates the subnet on which the vip will be created.
    # ${GRID_HOME}/bin/crsctl setperm resource <vip_name> -u user:oracle:r-x
    I did the following as oracle:
    Oracle_Prompt> ${GRID_HOME}/bin/crsctl start resource <vip_name>
    If you want to relocate this vip to other node in the cluster:
    Oracle_Prompt> ${GRID_HOME}/bin/crsctl relocate resource <vip_name> -s <source_node> -n <target_node>
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Moorthy.

  • Requirements to go for new TableSpace Creation ?

    Hi All,
    It is a more databse question than SAP,
    What are requirements to go for new Tablespace creation ?
    OR
    Why do we need to create new Tablespace evethough, we have around 7 default tspaces there.
    Eg : In my case TSpace PSAPVERTEX  created; vertex is US tax tool.
    I dont think database stores the application specific data in particular TSpace  like  vertex application -
    PSAPVETEX
    Please reply to me soon
    RK

    Hello Ramakrishna,
    >> Why do we need to create new Tablespace evethough, we have around 7 default tspaces there.
    That is not correct. You have one default tablespace on database level or one default tablespace for different users (user settings)... but you can never have more than one default tablespace.
    SAP creates more tablespaces to seperate the data and to structure it... but the definition, which object is stored in which tablespace is specified in the create statement of the object.
    So if objects are for the vertex application.. the create statement includes the vertex tablespace PSAPVERTEX.. if not the objects are created in the default tablespace for the user.

  • News creation error in Km Repository

    hi,
    There is a Km repository in portal Km content.
    When I tried to create a news in its sub folders using the sap demo news template it gives an error 'creation error'.But I am able to create news with the same template in other folders in root.Please help me to solve this issue.
    Thanks in advance,
    jesmi.

    Hi Jesmi,
    Create your contents under /root/documents. Contents created using XML forms builder can be saved only under /root/documents and not /root itself.
    To access the repository, use Explorer menu under Content Management role. I believe that you are accessing it using KM Content menu under Content Admin role.
    Hope it helps,
    Shankar
