Tabs and Cache

Hi,
I have two tabs based on the forms and reports wizard.
Tab 1 = Page 1
Tab 2 = Page 2
In my Page 1 I have an OnLoad Before Header Process type "Clear Cache for all Items on Pages (PageID,PageID,PageID)" Source = 2
I have edited the Conditional Processing to Request = Expression 1 where Expression 1 = TAB1
I would assume that since the request came from TAB1, the condition would return true and fire the process, but that is not what happens.
Can anybody explain what I am doing wrong?

Vito - When you press Tab 1, the current page is submitted. The value of the request at that point (after submit) is TAB1 or T_TAB1 (check the tab name to be sure, not the tab label). Then you can fire processes (after submit processes) conditionally based on the request. These processes must be After Submit - Before Computations and Validations. After they run, the built-in branch to the tab target (page 1) will fire. OnLoad events are seldom conditional on the request value which is used more as an after-submit device.

Can someone help me when Firefox closes randomly it removes all the cookies and cache, and I am not able to restore lost tabs...?

For a while now Firefox has randomly shut down for reasons unknown. Sometimes windows reports the error but not always. When I start Firefox back up again, it does not restore my tabs. Also as an added bonus it deletes the cookies and cache, and I don't know why. Furthermore this occurrence has become more and more frequent. Just in the last hour along before writing this complaint, Firefox crashed three times right as I switch users, but not every time I switched. I am a taboholic, addicted to tabs, sometimes 70+, and this is the final straw. This frequency became more and more prominent a few days ago. When it first crashed, Windows was kind enough to let me know of the error which first occurred one to two weeks ago. It has become the very bane of my internet surfing. Someone please help, or I will have to renounce my allegiance to Firefox and switch to the dark side that is Crome.

There is no citizenship oath involved in using Firefox, it's a piece of software.
Look, if Firefox isn't generating any crash reports, you more than likely have an operating system or hardware issue. If Firefox is generating crash reports you can retrieve that information and post the report numbers here.

Lenovo U310: Clean Windows 7 Installation Guide (including Rapid Start and Caching)

Hi there,
this is the first time that I am writing such a guide/tutorial/whatever you may call it – there are probably better ones, but though not being a total computer noob, it took me almost one week to get this pretty (now again) little beast running again. So hopefully this helps some others to avoid such stupid downtimes.
A brief overview on what has happened to my original win 7 Home Premium:
As some may know, this laptop is very well usable as a “Hackintosh” called Macbook clone. So that’s what I did. It turned out to be nice, but I wanted to go back to Windows after a while, using a clean W7 Pro installation to start over. Actually an easy task, format all drives, install Windows, be happy. Just as I had been doing this for years. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a real challenge. First, I couldn’t “see” my drives during installation (and thus not install), then I got random errors during installation aborting it at different points and finally rapid start and caching didn’t work. Every time I tried to activate them (after Win installation), it crashed my PC. I even found an (official Lenovo!) guide stating to install W7 on the SSD, which worked, but sucks due to space limitations. Oh and another very nice thing: The SSD showed up during WIN installation (but not the classical hard drive) stating it was about 60 GB. So as you can see, I have had a lot of different tries and errors. Why I didn’t use Lenovo Easy Recover? As said before, I erased all partitions…
Before we start: If you have a good Windows running on the Laptop, do yourself a favor and disconnect the RAID 0 disks using the Intel Rapid Storage Application before(!!!) proceeding. It will make things much easier. And don’t forget to get all you data on an external drive or something.
Ok, now let’s start.
1.)    Prepare a USB Stick with the following driver
         http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=21730 (choose f6flpy-x64.zip If you’re running a
         64-bit system (standard nowadays), take f6flpy-x86.zip if it is a 32-bit Windows, just download and copy them
         into the stick’s root directory) and plug this stick in one of the left side USB ports.
2.)    You’ll need Win 7 on either a DVD (plus external drive, for sure) or (bootable) USB stick
3.)    Connect your drive/stick (with W7) to the right side USB port.
4.)    Switch the computer on, immediately hit FN and F2. That will open the BIOS.
5.)    In the BIOS, navigate to the very right section (“save and exit”) and navigate the cursor to “load setup defaults”.
         Hit enter to approve.
6.)    After that, go to the “boot” tab and disable UEFI-boot.
7.)    Next, go one more tab to the left and set the controller setting to RAID (NOT AHCI or Compatible!!!).
8.)    Navigate the cursor down to “Intel Rapid Start” and hit enter. A submenu will pop up-
9.)    Disable the first entry in that window, that will make the rest be disabled as well.
10.) Navigate to the very right tab, this time hit save and exit.
11.) The PC restarts.
12.) Immediately hit FN and F12 to open the boot selection menu. Select to boot from your W7 DVD drive or USB
        stick.
13.) Click yourself through the whole process of installing Windows 7 until the page comes up where you will have
        to select where to install it.
14.) Click on “load drivers” and after a few seconds your downloaded driver should be there. Click ok to use them.
        Please do this step even if you can see your drives (SSD Disk 0, 32 GB and HDD Disk 1, 465(<-?) GB) as you
        would expect them – otherwise you’re very likely to get an error during the install process.
15.) Now erase all partitions on both drives and select the HDD as the drive to install W7 to – NOT THE SSD!!!!!
        Seriously, don’t choose the SSD.
16.) Windows will probably say that some extra partitions are necessary and so on, click ok and install Windows.
17.) After the installation has finished and you see your Desktop, I suggest you to proceed with the next steps in the
        following order to see as early as possible if you are on the right way.
18.) Install the Chipset driver, restart.
19.) Install the Intel Rapid Storage “driver” and check the box where it asks to additionally install the control center.
        Reboot.
20.) Go into BIOS (FN and F2) and enable Intel Rapid Start (the one you disabled in Step 8 and 9)
21.) Boot into Windows.
22.) Click on the Windows button, type cmd and right klick on the cmd.exe, select to run it as Admin.
23.) Now you’ll create a hibernation partition on the SSD. (which by now should be completely empty as we’ve
        deleted all partitions in step 15)
24.) In the command prompt that we have just opened, type: (without quotas, for sure)
“diskpart” and hit the enter button
“list disk” and hit the enter button
Now you should see your ssd as disk 0 and your hdd as disk 1
If your ssd is disk 0 (that would be standard), write “select disk 0”, otherwise write: “select disk 1”, and hit the enter button.
Now write “create partition primary size=4096” and hit enter again. [if you have 4GB of ram, type 4096, if you have 8 GB of ram, use 8192]
Now write “detail disk” and hit enter to see the volume number behind the volume that we have just created (it is 4 GB or 8 respectively, should be easy to find), in my case that was “2”
Now type “select volume 2” if your 4 or 8 GB volume has number 2 as well, otherwise use the number you found out in step f. Hit enter.
Finally, type: “set id=84 override” and hit enter for one last time.
It should now say back that the id has been set successfully.
Exit the command prompt. (close)
25.) Reboot
26.) Install the Rapid Start driver. Reboot.
27.) Open the Intel Rapid Storage Application.
28.) Click on accelerate and approve the settings. Two RAID’s will be created. Reboot.
29.) Install the remaining drivers, have fun with Windows Update and that’s it!
Good luck to all of you… And hey Lenovo - wouldn't that have been your job after all these posts showing your costumers in trouble? Just my two cents...
If you want, you can now turn on UEFI-boot in BIOS.
PS: If, after installing all drivers, you happen to see one unknown device in your device manager – this one belongs to Lenovo Connect Software that came with your Laptop. (Updates FB, Email etc when PC is in sleep mode) If you install Lenovo Connect it’s going to be fine, however, I would not recommend it as it is said to use a lot of energy and cause some other problems. So just live with it, your PC is totally fine without it.

Seriously guys, I can't use my 3 days old laptop. Some help would be mostly appreciated. At this point, the network connection issue doesn't show up anymore, it's just a blank screen after reboot. I reinstall windows and do it all over again just to achieve the same result.
Now couple of things caught my attention: as I load the "6flpy-x64.zip" driver from step 14, I get a message saying I need to install signed drivers, because unsigned ones are likely to mess up the system.
Secondly, I could not find any Rapid Storage Technology drivers for Windows 7 (particularly for U310 model), so I use the Windows 8 ones (http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS031455), which seems a silly thing, yet I know of no alternatives.
Could it be any of these issues to cause my problem? Or smth else? Please help!

Cursor not working always when over links and tabs. Cache has been cleared with no affect.

Is there a way to select MULTIPLE tabs and then copy ALL of the the URLs and titles/or URLs+titles+HTML links? This can be done with the Multiple Tab Handler add on; However, I prefer to use a Firefox feature rather than download an add on. Thanks.

Currently, I can copy ONE tab's url and nothing else (not its name). Or I can bookmark all tabs that are open. However, I'd like to have the ability to select multiple tabs and then copy ALL of the the URLs AND their titles/or copy ALL of the URLs+titles+HTML links? You should definitely be able to upload multiple files by Shift-clicking or Ctrl-clicking the files you want to upload. Just to make sure you don't have an old version of the service cached, please clear the browser cache and then log in to https://cloud.acrobat.com/files. After clicking the File Upload icon in the upper-right corner, you should be able so select multiple files for upload.

Im having problems with Safari 5.1.10. I often have several tabs open on screen. And after a while the links/websites become not active. So if click on a tab and want open a previous website it than has to re-load again in the window. Can I change this ?

Empty the Safari cache more often.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Select: Show Develop menu in menu bar
Now click Develop from the menu bar. From the drop down menu click Empty Caches.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

ANNOYING MACKEEPER TABS AND POPUP ADS

Hi there,
I bought a new macbook air 2 weeks ago, all has been well and good (new to mac products, always for android, still am).
Safari has also been good, as well as chrome, but as of recently, this whole "MacKeeper", "Zeobit.com" **** is completely taking over my search engines etc, problems including:
- Clean up mac ads everywhere, as well as the typical "Get a new iPhone 5' rubbish
- When clicking on links, my top sites tab shows up as well as the typical "MacKeeper" download page in another. I can only open links by pressing command to open in new tabs, however my top sites tab opens as well as the Mackeeper download page, along with it's fling annoying ads
- Ads as well before relevant google search links, like "Pages related to...." With zeobit.com on every inch of my ******* screen
Note that:
- I HAVE NOT downloaded anything to do with mackeeper, so uninstalling programs etc is unnecessary information - purely mackeeper tab and popup annoyances
- I have TRIED to 'restart' safari and remove cache, nothing works
- I have done the whole system preferences, privacy, remove all website data (which this zeobit.com **** is listed), and I remove zeobit.com but it just goes back on the list when I go through this process again
- Yes I have 'block popup ads' ticked
Can someone give me a solution to removing these popups with anything to do with zeobit.com and fling mackeeper which doesn't require me to read a long page of information? I'm about to smash my screen in here.

You installed the "DownLite" trojan, perhaps under a different name. Remove it as follows.
Malware is constantly changing to get around the defenses against it. The instructions in this comment are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for more recent discussions or start a new one.
Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

Right-click or control-click the line and select
          Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item named "VSearch" selected. Drag the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password.

          Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Uninstall any extensions you don't know you need, including any that have the word "Spigot" in the description. If in doubt, uninstall all extensions. Do the equivalent for the Firefox and Chrome browsers, if you use either of those.
This trojan is distributed on illegal websites that traffic in pirated movies. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect much worse to happen in the future.
You may be wondering why you didn't get a warning from Gatekeeper about installing software from an unknown developer, as you should have. The reason is that the DownLite developer has a codesigning certificate issued by Apple, which causes Gatekeeper to give the installer a pass. Apple could revoke the certificate, but as of this writing, has not done so, even though it's aware of the problem. This failure of oversight is inexcusable and has compromised both Gatekeeper and the Developer ID program. You can't rely on Gatekeeper alone to protect you from harmful software.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
          Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

Tabs and internet?

i can't seem to close individual tabs anymore, the (x) has dissapeared.?
also, i cant seem to quit my internet. right click and quit ??

So my assumption is correct, you can't quit safari. It doesn't matter whether it's from the dock or menu. I also presume then the quit menu item in safari is grayed out? Is it?
Do you have any extensions installed? If so try running without them (if not skip to the next expirement). I would suggest using the safari preference's extension tab and turning them off. But there may be a chicken-and-egg problem to get the preference to stick if you need to force quit safari because you can't quit it normally (which is the problem you are trying to solve).
An alternative approach would be to go into your ~/Library/Safari (~ is your home directory) and just drag the entire Extensions folder in there on to your desktop and then launch safari. It wouldn't (shouldn't) have any extensions now. Does that allow you quit safari normally now?
If no, next experiment. Drag your ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist file on to your desktop (so at this point you should have the Extensions folder and plist on your desktop) and launch safari. Work now?
If still no, drag the Extensions folder back into the ~/Library/Safari folder (so now only the plist remains on your desktop at the moment). Now drag the entire ~/Library/Safari folder to your desktop. So now at this point the entire Safari folder from ~/Library and the com.apple.Safari.plist are on your desktop.
You are now in a state as if safari has never been run (ignoring caches which I believe we can). A launch now should be equivalent to running safari the first time -- no preferences, no extensions, no personal bookmarks. Hopefully you should be able to quit it now. But let's see what the next steps are after these experiments.
Reminder - Do loose you original plist and Safari folder which should currently be on your desktop.

What are cookies and cache?

I've heard every once in a while you want to remove your cookies and cache! Why is this? Is that true? And what are cookies and cache exactly? Like their purpose

The cache stores data from websites so you can load pages faster but on occasion the cache gets full and needs to be emptied.

You can empty the Safari cache from the menu bar, Safari / Empty Cache.
If you have problems accessing a site, deleting the site related cookie can help. Go to Safari / Preferences then select the Security tab.
Click: Show cookies
You can delete all cookies or individually.

Siebel Marketing/OBIEE and cache tables

Dear,
Could someone explain to me the mechanism of the cache tables on OBIEE/SIEBEL Marketing.
For example, the MC_ASSET_MK table contains two columns GUID and QUALIFIED_ID. I understand the meaning of the QUALIFIED_ID column. But what is the meaning of the GUID column. Is it a foreign key to another table ? Which table ?
What is the difference between the two tables MC_ASSET_MK and MC_ASSET_SR ?

How do i delete "recently closed tabs" and "recently closed windows"?

I simply can not get rid of cache with recently opened tabs and recently opened windows.

Delete the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak and any existing files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js .

You can (temporarily) set the pref [http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.sessionstore.max_tabs_undo browser.sessionstore.max_tabs_undo] to ''0'' to clear the ''Recently Closed Tabs'' list.
Use the ''Reset'' context menu item to re-enable ''Undo Closed Tabs'' with the default value if you want to re-use that feature.
You can clear "Recently Closed Windows" if you restore a window and open a blank tab (Ctrl T) and close all other tabs with a middle click.
If you close the window with only that empty tab then that window is removed from the list.
To avoid that make sure that you close all tabs before closing a window.
Set the pref '''browser.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab''' to ''false'' on the about:config page to prevent closing the last tab from closing the browser.

I have been experiencing the exact same issue as eddiethered for the past 2 weeks, I'm having 4 old browser tabs open everytime I launch Safari. This is not an issue of a settings configuration, it is an issue of a bad .plist or cache from what I can tell. Like eddiethered, I have ensured the following:
My default homepage is about:blank, so upon Safari launch nothing other than a blank page should appear.
It is not an issue of restarting the OS and having "Reopen windows when logging back in" checked off, when I restart I ALWAYS uncheck that - but in the past week the same apps seem to relaunch automatically when they shouldn't.
This is not an issue of previously closing vs quitting the Safari browser, I Command-Q all my apps when I am finished with them. Even when I hard-quit Safari, the old 4 browser tabs/websites reappear.
This is not a issue of Login Items as I don't have a single application listed as a Login Item for my Username.
I've also noticed other apps having issues (iChat, Chrome). As of now Firefox is the only browser that is launching without any issues. Yes an OS reinstall could be an option but that is a substantial amount of effort I don't want to invest. Due to the other apps having issues this may be an issue at the OS level and not Safari.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

SAP Personas, tab key caching in MM01

In another thread (Re: Queries arising from experiences using SAP Personas) it was highlighted that it is difficult to select views in the material master due to the tab key caching in MM01 (and generally difficult with the tab key caching in create mode for example if there is only 1 TAB in MM01).
An initial answer stated that in MM01 in general it's a bit tricky to use tab cache. But with combination of additional action, it works nicely. Also you need to take care of the mandatory fields.
Can anyone elaborate on their experiences with this issue? Thanks, Simon

We use SAP Screen Personas 2.0.
1.- How could we merge tabs using cache and mandatory fields?

That is the nature of today's data-hungry internet. Sites you visit often partner with sites you don't visit for sharing info on its vistitors. You end up with cookies from the other sites.
This may help: Open Safari Preferences and click the "Privacy" tab. Under the section "Block cookies and other website data," check the button labeled "From third parties and advertisers." Restart Safari.
