TABSTRIP Control - Input event

Hi,
I'm quite naive to GUI based programming. My question reg. Tabstrip control is, <i>'Does selecting a Tab trigger the PAI modules?'</i>. It doesn't seem to and the Active Tab, value is not stored correctly in the Global variables (I used wizard to create the controls).
So, on refresh of control, it displays the first tab always. Can anyone help me out on this?

How to change the text for the tabs of a tabstrip control dynamically

Hi Guys,
I am having two screens in a transaction.
1. 1st screen has material number as an input and submit push button
2. 2nd screen has two tabs in a tabstrip control.
I want to display material description and plant number as heading for the two tabs based on the material number entered by the user in the 1st screen. Means i want to change the text dynamically. Is there any possible way? If it is there please help me. Very urgent...

Hi,
If you set the "Output field" attribute for a pushbutton/tab, you can also set its text dynamically in the ABAP program. To do this, you must create a field in the ABAP program with the same name as the pushbutton/tab. You must then assign the required text to the field before the screen is displayed.
For example define a global field in your program called MATNUM(20) and use this as the name for the material number tab on the tabstrip. Then you can assign a text MATNUM = 'Material Number' and this will appear as the tab title. Don;t forget to set the "Output field" attribute on the tab.

Differences between Robot class generated events and real input events

Hello everyone!
I'm having a problem with the translation of the description of the awt.Robot class.
- "This class is used to generate native system input events" -
Does this mean there is no difference between real input events and generated events from the Robot class? Difference in reference to that the generated events can't be recognized as generated events by the os or programs.

The Robot class will use an interface provided by the operating system to inject events. Those are very close to 'real' input events, but not quite there. There are, for instance, several games out there which have a protection mechanism against Robot's events to prevent scripting/botting. However, any application that is not paying special attention to the event's source will assume that the input events generated by Robot are actually coming from the user, so you can 'control' any application with the exception of the beforementioned games.

Tabstrip control Tab line navigation button display issue

I have a tabstrip that has more tabs than can be displayed at the top of the tabstrip control. When this happens a navigation button appears on the far right of the tab line( the line that contains all the tabs). This has been working fine for several years. Recently I needed to increase the width of the tabstrip control so that it was 160 character wide. Now when the tabstrip displays, the tab line stops displaying at around 130 characters so the navigation button no longer shows. As it turns out, the button is still there and functions as normal, except that it cannot be seen even though there are still too many tabs to all be displayed.
This appears to me to be a bug in the tabstrip control, but before I start complaining to SAP I thought I would ask here to see if anyone else might know of a solution to this problem.

cresate a managed bean in viewScope within the parent page and pass it as an argument to the child task flow. The managed bean contains/exposes a method to hide the menu items you don't want to show (or just disable them). The child task flow then can call the managed bean (from its input parameter reference) and invoke the method (e.g. in a method call activity as the default activity of the task flow).

I am trying to activate tabstrip control in module pool but error is coming like no sub screen is assigned to tabstrip pushbutton

yes i created sub screen. i am going to explain what i have done .
step : i created screen 200 (i choose subscreen)and inside 200 i put tabstripcontrol then in tab1 i gave ref field sub1 and tab2 i gave ref field sub2 and fatch code ic1 and ic2.
and then i created screen 221 and 222.
inside 200 flow logic i wrote below code but still its giving me same error.

Adding tab in tabstrip control dynamically..........

    I am using TabStrip control of PDK .NET. I want to add tab dynamically in tabstrip control.
But I am getting error for any postback when I switch in between tabs.
Error description is :

Hi Prashant,,
your index is less than zero, the postback will not store it unless you explicitly save it using 'enable view state' for the tree control, if it is already enabled and still not working: here is the work around :-
you can store it in a hidden input field, so that it can be retrived when you do a postback, and then reassign the current index
it should be a relatively simple fix

Any suggestions to avoid refreshing of TabPanel content of TabStrip control?

I am using sap.ui.commons.TabStrip to toggle different views. The content displayed in TabPanel is included into iframe to avoid naming collision might happened in distributed environment. Due to the internal mechanism of TabStrip control, if the content of iframe is not saved and user toggle to another view, when he comes back, the iframe will be refreshed and unsaved content will be lost.
Take the example below, iframe has been used in Tab1 to avoid naming collision, once user switch to Tab2, the TabStrip control will move content "<iframe src='test.html'></iframe>" in DIV of Tab1 into the hidden div with ID "sap-ui-preserve" and remove the DIV of Tab1. Once user switches back to Tab1, the DIV of Tab1 is reconstructed with content in div "sap-ui-preserve", refreshing occurs and filled content by user disappears. To avoid this, we have to use DIV to replace iframe, which means SPA, but there might be naming collision when there are 5-6 tabs and the tab content are developed by different developers.
I checked other Tab controls, the Div of tab1 will be simply hidden with CSS, refreshing would not occur. Any other reasons to reconstruct the content of invisible Tabs? Or any suggestions if we continue to use UI5 control "TabStrip"?

Thanks for the reply! The background is we are using UI5 to implement one SRM application, and which is developed by 20 developers. For individual page, one part is developed by application developers and shell by framework developers, application UI is embedded in the shell.there is requirement to access the control and set the attributes in different js files.
For the shell, it's developed with declarative view, there isn't way to choose the control without ID. For application UI, without ID, variable of control have to be global variable to allow others' code to access.

Fix labview variable to control input

Hi,
I am using the Simulation Interface Toolkit to send variables to Simulink. What I would like to have is a control that is coupled to the value of a text file. In other words the value of the text file will be the control input to Simulink sent via Labview. I can read the variable into Labview and save the local variable. I also have a slide control interfaced with Simulink that can send data. However, I have no idea on how to connect them together - make the slide track the variable I defined. Does anyone have any ideas?

I'm a little shaky on the transfer mechanism you are describing- would you be able to post a small example VI or screenshot of how you are handling the file-to-control data transfer?
Based on your reference to the other forum post, it looks as though you may be using an event structure to update your simulation, in which case you may find the Value (Signaling) property useful. More information on this property can be found here:

Tabstrip Control Problem

I created a form with a a two-tab tabstrip (using the wizard). On the first tab is an ALV grid, on the second, a text field. When I run the program and the first grid shows up with the ALV grid just fine. When I click the second tab, however, the program just terminates. I'm a newbie so it's probably something obvious. Status icons on tabstrip controls

Hello
I have a problem displaying the status icon on a tabstrip control.
I've created an infotype. On the tabstrip control, I've added texteditors and status icons.The status icon is there as an indication to state whether there is information populated in the texteditor.
The texteditors all have information populated in them. Whenever I run the infotype on PA30, the status icon does not appear. It only appears when I click on the texteditor button which is not what i want it to do.
On PA30,I would like the ICON to appear when there is information in the texteditor and not when I click on the texteditor button.
Please advice me on how to fix this problem.

So, for every new VBELN, under this i want its corresponding item details.
I have created the command node for the main window with 2 rows, in the 1st row i am giving VBELN and in the 2nd row i am giving in item details like item no, matnr etc etc and in the condition its askng Field name and Comparison Value.
How shold i give condition.??????

How can i hide a tabstrip control

On my screen there are a pushbutton and a tabsrtip control which contain two tabs.
initial,the tabstrip is visible,and the button with icon_collapse icon.
then,i click the button ,and the tabstrip must be invisible,and the button's icon will change to icon_expand.
if i use screen-name conditions to set the tab invisible,but the tabstrip has a shadow on the screen.the color of the space obtained by the tabstrip is different with other space's color.
How can i set the color same with other if i want to hide the tabstrip.
