Tabular and normal form on same page

Hi all,
need some advice as how to submit both tabular form and a normal form on click of submit button. The tabular form is based on a different table and the normal form and like i said i need to get them to insert into their adjacent tables at the same time..
thanks guys...

Hi Stefan,
You might find it useful to review the behaviour of the Detail page in the Master-Detail form within the APEX Sample Application, where the modifications made to the Forms region (based on Master table) and the Tabular form region (based on Detail table), are saved by clicking one button. If you're working with APEX 4.0, install the Sample Database Application, run it and then select the "Orders" tab. The Orders page, pg 4, is the Master page, displaying information on customer orders. If you click on the edit link for one of the rows, say for example the customer 'Bradley, Eugene', this will branch to the Detail page, pg 29 of the Sample Application. The "Save Changes" button will save changes made to both regions of the page. The Form region changes are saved via an Automatic Page Processing (DML) process, and changes to the Detail region are done via Multi Row Update (MRU) and Multi Row Delete (MRD) processes.
I hope this helps.
Regards,
Hilary

  • Form and report on the same page...

    Hi,
    I want to have a form and report on the same page... as soon as user enters the information and submit the form via button then the report should be able to display the addition...
    may I know how to accomplish this...
    Thanks in advance

    Hi
    Can you try like this
    1.First create an empty page and add a html region and template as form region and add the necessary fields to insert into table
    2. create a another region with type as "SQL Query" and template as report region and add the necessary fields for the reports.
    Once u entered the details into form region and created process and insert into table and then automatically the report region query will fetch the recently added row and displays in the report.
    Hopes this might helps you.
    Thanks & Regards

  • Two forms on same page..save state of one form while submitting other.

    Hi....
    I have 2 form on same page....
    first is form on table....
    nd another is tabular form.....
    now if I make an entry in both table ,,,,and after entering data in tabular form if click on submit button of tabular for the data of tabular form get submitted,,but the data I have been enter in first form get erased.....
    now my question is how can I save state of my first form even after clicking on submit button...........
    pls,help.

    Hi Shirish,
    in your scenario you can write manual process for one form in your both forms, using this way you can achieve you functionality.
    do the above and for that manual process keep the button name as your second form button means, for two forms saving with only one button.
    i am not sure in this, but you can try something.
    Thanks

  • SpryValidation and DependentDropdown in the same page

    hi,
    With "SpryValidation" and "DependentDropdown" in the same page
    SpryValidation, on "Submit" event, doesn't work
    Any solution??
    Thanks
    Gabriele

    Hi Gabriele,
    when checking some code located in some file in the "includes" folder, it seems that the onsubmit event is already "captured" by ADDT´s own clientside form validation routines.

  • How to create a master detail form on same page in apex 4.2.1

    Hi All,
    i need to design a master detail form on same page i am not finding an option in wizard from where i can do that.
    will appreciate your suggestions.
    Thanks

    Hi James,
    I think that Mike is suggesting that you create a SQL View over the table and join together the individual primary key values into a single, unique, pseudo primary key. You can still include the individual columns in the SQL but you can then use this new column as the primary key on a form. However, you would also need to create INSTEAD OF triggers to handle inserts/updates/deletes as SQL will not allow you to update tables through a view. (See: [http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/appdev.111/b28370/create_trigger.htm#i2064426] for the Oracle details on this or Re: How to update view resp. table for an example within Apex).
    Ideally, though, you should only really need one key column - is there any need for four?

    Put the name of the page in the action attribute of the form, just like you always would :s
    Or perhaps you mean that you want to submit to a different frame or something? In that case you use the target attribute and give it the name of the frame you want to submit to.

  • How do I type Hebrew and English on the same page

    How do I type Hebrew and English on the same page in Indesign?

    What version of InDesign are you using? And on what operating system? Switching keyboard ("input methods") is in your OS, not in InDesign. InDesign has had the capability to display right-to-left languages since CS4, but only the Middle East edition has the abilities to actually manipulate Hebrew text. If you're trying to do a bilingual, bidirectional document, you'll need the ME edition. If you are a CC subscriber, it comes with your subscription; if you are not, you'll need to buy another version of ID, or a plugin that will allow you to access those RTL features.

    You mean while creating a book in iPhoto?  Click on the layout button while viewing a page and select the layout that includes both text and photos.  Most themes will have those options.

  • Can I print before and after on the same page?

    Hi everyone.
    I'm really proud of my editing on a particular image.  I want to print the before and after on the same page, just like I can see the before and after side-by-side in the Develop mode.
    Is this possible?
    Thanks for your help.

    Yes but you will need to make a virtual copy by going to the menu:
    Photo >> Create Virtual Copy
    Then open copy 2 in the Develop module and from the history panel change the setting to the time of import (usually the bottom of the list) or use the re-set button to get back to the original file from camera.
    You can then select copy 1 & 2 and go to the Print module to set up your page with both images.

  • FORM and JSP in the same page

    Hello All
    Is it possible to pass variable from a html textbox to a JSP? but they both are in the same page.
    For this purpose, I have a created a index.html, which contain two frames, top.html and bottom.jsp. There is a textbox in the top.html, it collects 2 variables and use form action "POST" to call bottom.jsp to display a graph.
    However after I run this page on Tomcat, it gave me error message in the bottom.html:
    The server encountered an internal error () that prevented it from fulfilling this request.
    Can anyone teach me how to solve this problem? Thanks a lot
    Viola
    index.html
    ===============================
    (FRAME) top.html
    <form action="bottom.jsp" method="post">
    <input type="text" name="apple">
    <input type="text" name="orange">
    ===============================
    (FRAME) bottom.jsp
    String apple = request.getParameter("apple");
    String orange = request.getParameter("orange");
    use those two variables to do something
    and display a graph

    The problem is that both pages are loaded @ the same time so when the getParameter gets executed the parameters are null and this is the probable cause of your error. Another problem is the action in form will cause the bottom to go into tops frame and not have anything to do with the other frame. If you want data to go from one frame to another while the user still sees them look @ DHTML, JavaScript and IFrames.

  • How to do a partial refresh of a form and report on the same page?

    Hi all,
    im trying to make a page where you have a report on top and when you click the link instead going to the form page, the form page is on the bottom of the report. lets say im trying to send an id from the report to the item below so that i could fetch the rest of the item. however when i pass,other items would still refer to this one as null.
    if im not mistaken this could be done with submit,but i want it to be partial refresh..
    i tried steps here but this only worked when the lower part is a also a report:
    https://forums.oracle.com/thread/2345863
    i also tried this,but this actually submits a page..
    Grassroots Oracle: Apex Tutorial - Form &amp; Report sharing the same page
    would it be possible to get a form and report in one page as partial refresh?
    Message was edited by: T101_cyberdyne

    If so, you need to create a dynamic action with a javascript action to set the id of the report row in the id form field, and a subsequent pl/sql action to fetch the record based on the id. You can use this record to set the other form field items.
    For the example in the above link the code looks as follows.
    the javascript action:
    var empno = $(this.triggeringElement).find('td[headers="EMPNO"]').text()
    $s('P26_EMPNO',empno)
    the PL/SQL action:
    declare
    cursor c_emp is
    select * from emp
    where empno = :p26_EMPNO;
    BEGIN
    for r_emp in c_emp loop
      APEX_UTIL.SET_SESSION_STATE('P26_ENAME',r_emp.ename);
      APEX_UTIL.SET_SESSION_STATE('P26_JOB',r_emp.job);
      APEX_UTIL.SET_SESSION_STATE('P26_MGR',r_emp.mgr);
      APEX_UTIL.SET_SESSION_STATE('P26_HIREDATE',to_char(r_emp.hiredate,'dd-mon-yyyy'));
      APEX_UTIL.SET_SESSION_STATE('P26_SAL',r_emp.sal);
      APEX_UTIL.SET_SESSION_STATE('P26_COMM',r_emp.comm);
      APEX_UTIL.SET_SESSION_STATE('P26_DEPTNO',r_emp.deptno);
      APEX_UTIL.SET_SESSION_STATE('P26_ORDNO',r_emp.ordno);
    end loop;
    END;
    Hi Vincent,
    Yes! im looking for something similar. This looks interesting. I did look into apex_util.set_session_state yesterday but didnt know how to apply. perhaps i was doing it wrong.
    Question though, so basically first use the javascript to send the EMPNO from top report to the EMPNO in the form fields below.
    Then based on the EMPNO received in the form, do a loop to get the rest and put it into session. Correct?
    if i'm not mistaken i did something similar,but when i tried to set session for the rest,it refers to to the p26_EMPNO still as null..does the javascript sets the id of report to the id of the form or does it just send over?
    i'll try it out.
    Thanks.

  • Report and Form on same page

    I used the wizard to create a report and form on a table. When the user hits the edit link on the report, it brings up the form (so they can edit) on a new page. Instead of this, I want the form to show on the same page as the report. What is the best way to do this? Should I create 2 regions on the same page (1 for the report and 1 for the form)?

    Bob,
    take a look at

    at the end you can login to a (my) workspace to see how it's done.

  • Master and detail in the same page

    db11xe , apex 4.0 , firefox 24 ,
    hi all ,
    i am trying to insert the master and detail data in one step in the same page :
    i have two tables (clients) and (tests_administered)
    the client table's region contains theses items
    client_id
    client_name
    the other table's region contains these columns -- the tabular region
    row selector
    test_admin_id -- pk,  hidden
    client_id          -- hidden , this is the one i should populate with values
    and more columns
    i've done this :
    1- removed the condition of the tabular region .
    2- Added the request CREATE to the list in condition of the APPLYMRU process -- or :request like ('CREATE')
    3- Added new process with following code : -- with sequence before the applymru process and after process row of clients process
    for i in 1..apex_application.g_f02.count
    loop
    apex_application.g_f02(i) := :p2_client_id ;
    end loop ;
    but nothing happened . why ? what did i miss ?
    thanks

    Hi,
    Create a Master Detail Form through the APEX Wizard
    Make sure you choose the Primary Keys for the Master Detail as one of your Column and not the ROW ID.
    Selecting an existing Sequence for the Primary Key is preferred.
    Select the option the where your Master and Detail appears in the same page.
    Initially when you run the page your master and detail will not appear at the same time in the page when your Master Detail Form is in the entry form mode. For this you have to go to your Tabular Form(Detail Form) region, and below you will have to remove the Condition for the display of your Tabular form and set it to “No Condition”.
    Now when you run the page both the Master and Detail form will appear together in the create mode but you will not be able to insert or create both master and detail records at the same time when u click the create button. For this the following needs to be done: You need to create a PL SQL Tabular Form process :
    Let's say your master form is based on DEPT and your detail tabular form is based on EMP. Make sure the following things are configured:
    The DEPT insert/update DML process runs before the new tabular form PLSQL process. (ie) the new PL SQL Tabular Form Process that you create should be inbetween Automatic Row Processing(DML) and Multi Row Update Process , so create the new Tabular Form Pl SQL process with a sequence number inbetween these two Processes.
    Make sure you choose Tabular form while creating this PL SQL process.
    The new tabular form PL/SQL process executes the following as the source
       :DEPTNO := :P1_DEPTNO;
    Where DEPTNO is the Foreign Key column in the Tabular Form that links the Primary Key Item P1_DEPTNO of the Master Form.
    Finally this new PL SQL process conditionally runs when DEPTNO is null, so you need to add the following condition to the process:
    The final step to accomplish in creating both the Master and Detail records at the same time is to make a change in the condition of the Multi Row Update Process. :request in ('SAVE','CREATE') or :request like 'GET_NEXT%' or :request like 'GET_PREV%'
    -We make this change so that records get inserted into the Detail table when we click the ‘’Create” button.
    Now you can Run your page and create both the Master and Detail records at the same time.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Madonna
