Tacacs java client library?

Hi
I installed ACS 4.2 AAA server and wanna to do authenticate user against TACACS. i found one java client library (http://sourceforge.net/projects/jnetlib/  to do the same. my query is that is there any another Open source java client library available to authenticate user against Tacacs or provided by Cisco?
Regards
G

Hi Gurav,
Please explain more about what you are trying to authenticate. Are you authenticating to the switch? Or is this the user that plugs into a switch port and needs to be authenticated? If its the latter then you need to configure dot1x authentication and this only uses RADIUS and not TACACS. I am unclear on what you mean by java client library-
If the user needs to authenticate on a switch port (dot1x) then he needs a dot1x supplicant to do this - Cisco's supplicant is the CSSC-Cisco secure services client.
Thankyou,
Anita

  • SOAP --XI ---RFC or Java Client  Proxy

    Hello Gurus,
Need your adivce for a scenario in XI
Scenario ---  To implement XI with SAP SCEM(Supply Chain Event Management).
Client is sending data from Web Portal (JSP Page) and wants to integrate with R/3.
(Request from client and Response from R/3 shown again at browser )
Web Portal (JSP Page) is on server A and XI on server B
    Queries ---
    1. Can I use Java Client Proxy Approach ---  proxy --- xi -- rfc approach
If  Web Portal (JSP page) is working in server A and XI in server B then can I call xi server from jsp page by passing xi server credential (username, password, bus service) and using sync Interface I can show result back to browser.
    2. For SOAP Approach  -- SOAP -- XI --- RFC approach
Suppose I need to send two parameters from my Web Portal (JSP page) to xi to R/3 and it will return some result.
Concept of Webservice --- any application (like BAPI ) exposed.
    a. Pls tell me all the steps required for IR and ID
b.How can I invoke that generated webservice from my jsp page --- so that my request parameters values go to xi from my jsp page and to R/3 and then result from R/3 to xi and to my jsp page.
    Regards

I think second approach is more appropriate ie. SOAP>XI>RFC

  • Java client for OSB service

    Hi All,
We have to talk to OSB11g proxy service which is created as Any Soap service (url: http://myosb.firmname.com:7001/osb-ws)
I have java client applications which need to consume this proxy service built on top of OSB by providing the necessary inputs.
Typically we get wsdl url's and then we use Jdeveloper to create web service client proxies to generate client side web service artifacts and call the web service.
But I am confused here as to how can I get a handle to the OSB service from a java client. The OSB developers on the project tell me they don't have and cannot provide a WSDL based URL.
What are the general practices for consuming OSB proxy service from java client apps. Google search result did not yield much help.
Please let me know your thoughts.
    Regards,

    Hi Anuj,
Thanks for reply. As u guys mentioned that about the URL I have rechecked the URL and realized the port number which I was using that was Admin Server Port while environment contains two servers Admin and Managed both. I have change the Port Number from Admin to Managed now its hitting the Service but now another problem I start facing that I need to pass a big XML as input request to that OSB Proxy Service. I have two different code where I am attaching the input request in two different ways but none of them is passing that request to URL and in both cases I am getting default response from URL.

Although i used required code { code which omit .java file during packaging } , is this is secure? or we can get the code { key in my case } from .jar file by any java tool.As you have already noticed through your other thread - yes you can.

  • JAVA CLIENT PROXY

    Hi All,
I am working on java client proxies.
Can anybody give me step by step approach for creating application java class using proxy and bean classes generated from my outbound interfaces?
I want to create EJB module project and EAR project,I have created it using NWDS04,but I am getting error as it is not finding com.sap.aii.proxy.xiruntime.core.AbstractProxy this class.
Please help me to reolve this problem.

    Hi,
The EJB code that you write for creating client proxies uses many of the inbuilt JAVA classes...so it is dependent on those classes...you need to define these dependencies using an xml file .......   'application-j2ee-engine.xml'.

Does anybody know what I am missing here?

I'd suggest posting to the Acrobat SDK forum. You may need a license to do what you want.

  • Java Client Program to explore CVS Repository

    Hi Friends :
My module, use CVS as repository to which bunch of XMLs files gets committed by a particular process. Later these XMLs are collected and send to another location by an EOD process.
I need to write a java client, to explore CVS file folder structure to see what is in the CVS before EOD process starts. I do got one reference from NetBeans Stack - org-netbeans-lib-cvsclient.jar - but faces limitations on them.
Has any one here, has got any suggestion / alternate approach to make.
    Regards

Imagine some friend replied to me - "Oh yes - I have applied this - XYZ jar in my project for same ops.. ' - this would have been booster for any one experimenting with ...That is what expected rather than de-route to Google Path .. My point is, that a Google search will probably lead you to articles, blogs, and posts, on this forum or on others, from people that are applying succesfully XYZ.jar for a similar purpose. This forum, with all due respect to its venerable members, and despite my obvious bias and sympathy for some of them, are no more authoritative than a few other technical places on the Internet.
And if no such existing resource andwser your needs, you'll be more welcome if you state that "you have read XYZ's doc, read this post (link), and this one (other link), and evaluated this other lib, and none of them seems to fulfills my requirements X, Y, and Z"
I have noticed your similar reply for the same query in another postAh, you mean in this topic which you resurrected (wink to the moderators :o): {message:id=9817389}?
Well note that it was not me who pushed this other poor soul to a search engine, so this is not just me getting old, wrinkled and bitter, merely a general consensus here that questions such as "Looking for a way to..." should demonstrate some effort on the part of the questioner before asking others. In the case of such an request where obviously several APIs are easily found, you could read the introduction chapter of the respective docs, to get an idea of the strength and weaknesses, or do a few more searches to find posts related to these APIs on programming forums.
but I feel - any query can give different dimensions of issuesI don't understand :o(
Idea of using CVS in my java module for storing files for processing came to my attention (...) remotely related to my requirement (...) It triggered me using CVS (...) would give me added advantagesIn other words, using CVS is not a requirement, it's a technical decision, after analyzing the requirements and the other factors that can drive the choice (licence cost, knowledge within the team, maintenability,...)?
Unless history, branching, and diffing, are requirements of your application, I seriously question using CVS as only a shared repository of data, but let's assume you have done this analysis and indeed come to the right conclusion.
So am patient enough to get an valuable guidance / lead on same subject - else I will continue with POC !!
Good Luck Oh you mean, with my age, wrinkles, and bitterness? Thanks ;)
I didn't mean to offend you, and wish you good luck getting help, I just pointed out that you will have more chance of getting help if you:
    1) give more details about which "limitations" are hampering your work:
    2) demonstrate more effort of evaluating alternative solutions
For example it is not clear to me if you're looking for a workaround with your current library, or if you 're looking for alternative libraries.

  • Error: "Mobile java client attributes not maintained" while activating DO

    Hi All,
i got error while activating the Data Object: "Mobile java client attributes not maintained".
how to resolve this error, and why this error is coming?
I am migrating the MI 2.5 application into the MI 7.1 application. In new MI 7.1 application some synbo's are imported using the text file and some new data objects are created. Imported synbo's are activated successfully, but newly created objects are not activated because of the above error.
Can we solve above error or is there any restriction that in Migration project ( project with backward compatibility ) we can't create new Data objects?
    Thanks & Regards
    Siva Sankar Nulaka.

    Hi Siva,
Please refer to following document for the solution.

  • Java networking library with RMI-like functionality?

Is anyone aware of a Java networking library, that provides RMI like functionality and TCP/IP with an intuitive API and minimal coding required? I'm working on a prototype, but I'm having difficulty getting Java's RMI functionality working through Netbeans, so while I'm prototyping I'm looking for alternatives so I can code more and frustrate less!
    Thanks

    Thanks ejp.
I guess I'll re-phrase the original question. Is there a small open-source Java networking library that doesn't include RMI, but gives a simple API for TCP/IP connections (higher level than sockets) and includes file transfer? I don't know if I need things like FTP/HTTP/POP/SMTP support etc for now.
ThanksI gotta be honest with you here. I think you need to stop coding for now and get your requirements in hand with a better grasp on how network programming works.
Not being insulting here but your questions show your current knowledge level on the subject to be not really sufficient for success with whatever it is you want to do.
There is the networking tutorial available here http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/networking/index.html but it might do you well to tell us exactly what you are trying to do. Are you trying to build an FTP client? Are you trying to build a whole client/server program of some sort?
Because everything now is very vague. You seem to be looking for protocols or API's between TCP and things like FTP for example and none exist because these sit directly on top of TCP. So you either deal directly with the Sockets or you deal with some library that deals with the protocol in question. There isn't an "in-between" layer here.

  • Can't download OC4J 10.1.3 client library

Please see the following for details:
    Can't download OC4J client library
    Thanks (in advance),
    Avi.

    Hello,
On Mac OS X 10.4.8 the oc4j shell script doesn't work either. If you call the script with VERBOSE=on
oc4j -shutdown -port 23791 -password admin
You get the following call to admin.jar
    Shutdown OC4J instance...
    Executing: /Library/Java/Home/bin/java -jar ../j2ee/home/admin.jar ormi://localhost:23792 oc4jadmin oc4j -shutdown
    Error: Missing ormi[s]://<host>:<port>
If I hack the script so the command becomes
    Shutdown OC4J instance...
    Executing: /Library/Java/Home/bin/java -jar ../j2ee/home/admin.jar ormi:// oc4jadmin oc4j -shutdown
It works. localhost is set correct so there must be problem in admin.jar since any valid hostname:port should work.

    Nilesh,
First of all make sure that the shared library error you are getting is fixed by including the library in your classpath. Secondly, where are you running the client from? The connection factory that you use varies depending on where you are connecting from:
    1. ApplicationClientContextFactory is used when looking up remote objects from standalone application clients. This uses refs and mappings in application-client.xml.
    2. RMInitialContextFactory is used when looking up remote objects between different containers.
    3. ApplicationInitalContextFactory is used when looking up remote objects in same application. This is the default initial context factory and this uses refs/mappings in web.xml and ejb-jar.xml.

thank u for ur reply...but actualy i dont know what is application-client.xml and where i can find that file in my j2ee folder...can u give me detail explanation about that...actually i have not created any application or not deployed also without deploying any application i have created that TestClient.java class so how it will relate with application-client.xml....so i have changed the lookup code with ApplicaitonClientContextFactory...but still the same error is coming......can u give me the full explanation or solution of my problem...

  • Encryption is required to connect to this server but the client library does not support encryption

    Hi ,guys
I came cross a trouble when I configured connection encryption.
I met the following problem when I have configured connection encryption done.
Encryption is required to connect to this server but the client library does not support encryption; the connection has been closed. Please upgrade your client library. [client: ip]
    environment info:
    SQL:SQL2008 \SQL2005\SQL2008R2
    SERVER:WIN2003 \WIN2008R2
We use C# to develop asp.net webform app, so the provider I use should be SQL client.
client .NET Framework version:NET Framework 3.5
Pls tell me why I met this weird problem.
    Thanks in advance.
    Love SQL

Sure, here is the connetion string of java app.
    jdbc
    db.url=jdbc:jtds:sqlserver://60.x.x.x./TaskSiteInfo
    db.username=xxx
    db.pwd=xxx
Your initial post stated you were using SqlClient in an ASP.NET 3.5 app.  I think this is an issue with the jTDS client based on the error message.  Are you using the latest jTDS driver?  If so, try posting this issue to

  • Final cut server not serving java client application

weird situation. today i went to download the java client for final cut server 1.5.1 at my normal address and the webpage came up welcome.. with the ability to download the client application as normal but when i pressed the button to download nothing happened.
anyone have any ideas how to resolve this? manually removed all of the client java cache on the client machine and also reinstalled fcs 1.5.1 on the server with a restore of the database without any change in functionality. any ideas?

    hello ben,
thanks for taking your time to help me with the issue i am seeing here. I will do my best to read into what you said and explain.
    1. Network User Permissions Problems.
maybe you can explain, but i have not authenticated against anything at this point, just went to the normal.. "http://FQDN/finalcutserver"... the normal fcserver webpage comes up but when i click download it does not give me the ability to download the java applet or run a script that maybe delivers the java applet.
maybe i am not understanding, but what about what i am experiencing looks like a permission issue? permission for fcserver to distribute the java applet to a user who goes to the final cut server web page to download the client?
If that is the case, would you know where to start looking for permission issues?
    2. Verfy the web server services and comb through the user permissions and services on the server.
The web services, service is on and when i look at the logs with any reference of final cut server, this is what i see right after when i try to download the client app.
File does not exist:/Library/WebServer/Documents/FinalCutServer, referer: http://FQDN/~localadmin/webstart/content.php
as far as the user permissions, what should i look for? there are very few users, the local admin, the open directory admin and 1 other user in od.
with regard to services running on server 10.6.1 and how they affect final cut server.. checked use of how i would use AFP, DNS lookups, OpenDirectory & network homes, and Web services and appear to be working as far as i can tell.
hope the above information helps. thanks in advance for helping troubleshoot.

  • Web Services Client Library - Options

From what I understand there are multiple options to invoke web services (using a client library). From a performance perspective, has anyone done any tests or have recommendations on which client library is better?
    For instance,
    - Web Services Client Library with Apache Axis 1.2.1
    - JAXRPC based Client Library bundled with BEA Weblogic Server (using 8.1SP3 here)
    - JAXRPC Client Library with Sun JWSDP (Java Web Services Developer Pack)
    - XMLBeans?
    - others...
We are using Doc/Literal (un-wrapped style) Web Services.
    Thanks
