Taking a long time to do first step?

Usually Match has been pretty speedy, I have 10000 cuts of music, I chaged ny Genres from 250 to 20 with TuneUp but noeiTunes match seems stuk at the first step?  How long should I have to wait before I get concerned?
I was tired of waiting. Turned natch off, then resumed..no difference. SO I turned Match off from iTunes Menue Bar. Now I just wait and wait. Gathering information seems Stuck.. The progress bar has been completed the Whole time I'm waiting..Is this normal? How long could Gathering information Take?
Anyone?

Like many users on the other similar threads, my machine stayed on step one for over 48 hours. At the suggestion from another user comment, I quit iTunes and restarted it.
The "gathering information" progress bar seemed to start over from the beginning, but within an hour, it was underway "Matching your music with songs in the iTunes store".
It has already checked 4,000 of 29,000 songs, but I have a 25mbps up/down FIOS connection.
Would have been nice to know in the beginning....
Another suggestion I took is creating smart folders for each of the following iCloud States: Duplicate, Error and Ineligible
I have lots of errors and ineligibles..... :-(

    Hi ,
the performance can be improved thru many ways..
First try to select based on the key fields if it is a very large table.
if not then create a Secondary index for selection.
dont perform selects inside a loop , instead do FOR ALL ENTRIES IN
try to perform may operations in one loop rather than calling different loops on the same internal table..
All these above and many more steps can be implemented to improve the performance.
Need to look into your code, how it can be improved in your case...

The charger block is universal and is able to handle multiple votages.  One hour to reach 50% seems fine to me if the phone was completely flat to start with.  Just leave it on charge for as long as it takes to reach 100%.  I leave mine connected overnight all the time and it does not harm the battery

My IMac , just started, taking a long time to get to the desktop.  First I have a gray screen, than a gray screen with a gray globe, a blue screen and finally my desktop.  Takes about 4 minutes.  What is wrong and what do I do?

Once the desktop is up and the iMac ready to use, open Systeem Preferences (Apple menu) and click the Startup Disk item. In the new screen, make sure that OS X on your hard drive is selected in the top row - click it once to make sure. Then test.

    Hi ariasm21,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If the App Store on your iPhone seems unresponsive or app updates are not completing, try the steps below.
First force close the apps using these steps:
    Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app's preview up to close it.
These steps come from this article:
iOS: Force an app to close

  • Time Machine Taking a Long Time to Index

    Hi everyone.
I first noticed this today.  My Time Machine is taking a long time to index.  It's stuck on "Waiting for index to be ready (100)" for about 10 minutes at least, it seems.  I did notice earlier today that it had to delete old backups to make space for new backups, and I'm wondering if that has anything to do with it.  I'm in the process of doing a verification now, but here's the code from two backups earlier today.
Here's the one where it had to delete backups to make room for new and future backups.

I'm backing up to a Time Capsule over WiFi.  This time capsule has a total of 3 laptops that are backed up on it.

Never mind.  Whatever it was, it's fine now.  We'll see what happens when it has to delete old backups to make space.  It's down to about 720 MB free without removing old backups.

  • Issue in updating large number of rows which is taking a long time

    Hi all,
Am new to oracle forums. First I will explain my problems as below:
    1) I have a table of 350 columns for which i have two indexes. One is for primary key's id
and the other is the composite id (combination of two functional ids)
    2) Through my application, the user can calculate some functional conditions and the result
is updated in the same table.
    3) The table consists of all input, intermediate and output columns.
    4) The only way of calculation is done through update statements. The problem is, for one
complete process, the total number of update statement hits the db is around 1000.
    5) From the two index, one indexed column is mandatory in all update where clause. So one
will come at any case but the other is optional.
    6) Updating the table is taking a long time if the row count exceeds 1lakh.
    7) I will now explain the scenario:
    a. Say there is 5lakh 100 records in the table in which mandatory indexed column id 1 has
100 records and id 2 has 5 lakhs record.
    b. If I process id 1, it is very fast and executed within 10seconds. But if I process id 2,
then it is taking more than 4 minutes to update.
Is there any way to increase the speed of the update statement. Am using oracle 10g.
Please help me in this, Since I am a developer and dont have much knowledge in oracle.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Taking snapshot of oracle tables to sql server using transactional replication is taking a long time

    Hi All,
I am trying to replicate around 200 oracle tables onto sql server using transaction replication and it taking a long time i.e the initial snapshot is taking more than 24 hrs and it still going on.
Is there any way to replicate those these tables faster?
    Kindly help me out..
    Thanks

    Hi,
According to the description, I know the replication is working fine. But it is very slow.
    1. Check the CPU usage on Oracle publisher and SQL Server. This issue may due to slow client processing (Oracle performance) or Network performance issues.
    2. Based on SQL Server 2008 Books Online ‘Performance Tuning for Oracle Publishers’ (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms151179(SQL.100).aspx). You can enable the transaction
job set and follow the instructions based on
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms147884(v=sql.100).aspx.
    2. You can enable replication agent logging to check the replication behavior. You may follow these steps to collect them:
To enable Distribution Agent verbose logging. Please follow these steps:
    a. Open SQL Server Agent on the distribution server.
    b. Under Jobs folder, find out the Distribution Agent.
    c. Right click the job and choose Properties.
    d. Select Steps tap, it should be like this:
    e. Click Run agent and click Edit button, add following scripts by the end of scripts in the command box:
            -Output C:\Temp\OUTPUTFILE.txt -Outputverboselevel 2
    f. Exit the dialogs
For more information about the steps, please refer to:

    Hope the information helps.

  • Data load taking very long time between cube to cube

    Hi
In our system the data loading is taking very long time between cube to cube using DTP in BI7.0,
the maximum time consumption is happening at start of extraction step only, can anybody help in decreasing the start of extraction timing please
    Thanks
    Kiran

Kindly little bit Elaborate your issue, Like how is mapping between two cubes, Is it One to one mapping or any Routine is there in Transformation. Any Filter/ Routine in DTP.  Also before loading data to Cube did you deleted Inedxes?

  • Rollup in cube is taking very long time (BW 3.5)

    Hi,
Rollup in one of our cube is taking a long time from what it is expected.
Previously this rollup was taking 2-3 hrs but now it is taking more than 8 hrs.
To solve this I even tried compressing the cube till last month but of no use. (this worked last year when we faced a similar issue but not sure why it wont help this time)
Through this rollup 2-3 active aggregates are filled up.
Is there any way to solve this issue.
I am using BW 3.5 version.
(PS - Can't use compress after rollup option.)

    Dear,
When ever you do a rollup of data to its aggregates, the system automatically deletes and rebuilds the indexes of the aggregates.
Now when you run the program SAP_RSADMIN_MAINTAIN with the above mentioned parameters the system skips this process of deleting and rebuilding the index of aggregates .
Hence you dont have to do anything manually except to rebuild the indexes of the aggregates(on the "Performance" tab when you "Administrate data targets" in the Admininistrator Workbench) once your process chain has run successfully .
So the steps should be as follows :
    1) Run the program SAP_RSADMIN_MAINTAIN (One time activity)
    2) Delete index (for infocube in process chain)
    3) Load data into infocube (in process chain)
    4) Create index (for infocube in process chain) .
    5)Rollup (in process chain )
6)Rebuild the indexes of the aggregates(on the "Performance" tab when you "Administrate data targets" in the Admininistrator Workbench . (Manually) .

  • Simple query taking so long time to run

Below are the queries which are taking very long time to run. It pulls 4 million records approx on first query.
    How can it run fast?
    Thank you.

There is no grouping, u are calculating 4m records in second query. Maybe try above instead (already suggested)? Can u check how long above query takes to run?

  • Firefox in my Mac is suddenly taking a long time to activate, my Mac seems to block as if it was a PC

Firefox in my Mac is suddenly taking a long time to activate, my Mac seems to block as if it were a PC

It may be some dodgy settings or plugins causing that, I would say job one is to check out your extensions, as these can cause all sorts of issues. First, disable them all temporarily and see if that fixes the problem. If it does, turn them back on in turn and see if one in particular is causing the issue. If you find one, ditch it!
If the app is still slow, I would recommend backing up all your bookmarks, and then dumping any settings associated with the app. If you don't feel comfortable doing this manually, you may want to use a tool like Appcleaner to uninstall all of the application's files, and then reinstall a fresh copy from firefox.com.
    Hope that helps!

  • Logining in Taking a long time

*+i'm having problem when i start my mac, there is a earth logo then followed by a folder logo with a ? mark on it after that only the apple logo appear . i never seen this 2 logo before. its taking a long time to login. is this normal? why is this happening now? please help me+*

No it's not normal. Somehow your default OS selection has been changed.
In System Preferences->Startup Disk, select the first icon which should be labeled Mac OS X 10.5.6
And by the way, please update your profile or your OS. It shows a very early version of Leopard which has some bugs that were addressed in later updates.
