Taking pieces of a signal and putting them in an array

Lets say I have a square wave in a large array (1X#samples). I want to
put the values of each positive part of the square wave into an array
such that its size is #positivepulses X #samplesperpulse. The only
thing that I know for certain about the square wave is that the
non-positive parts of the signal are zero.
Any suggestions for how I might achieve this?

use the java.util.Scanner class.
read in the file. loop through the lines to get the numbers and put them into an array and/or add them.
this is something you could have easily looked up on your own. if not in google, then definitely within these forums.

I am sure this is a simple issue, but it does not seem to be coming together for me. I am currently attempting to take data from 2 different text files and put them together into 2 separate columns. The code I have attached manages to put them together into one long column, does anyone have any advice on writing out that second list to another column instead of just appending it to the first?

Thank you for your comment about the breakpoint, I removed it.
So I will attach everything I have, and maybe you can tell me where things can be tightened up.
I will summarize how things work. Michael.vi basically takes a measurement of frequency and amplitude and puts them in text files as so. Read_text.vi then opens up those text files and puts them together into one nice text file, which I will post in my next comment along with the latest version of Read_text, as I can only upload 3 things at a time. I would then like to plot this information in an X-Y plot on the screen, which I have been attempting to do by putting the points together in clusters to be plotted, but that has been miserably failing.

Taking clips from itunes movies and putting them into imovie

I'm doing a school project and making a movie trailer and i need to take clips from a movie on my itunes and put it onto imovie so i can take clips from the movie. HELP PLEASE!!!

How did the movie get into iTunes? Does it have digital rights copy protection? I guess you're not seeing the movie when you look in music in the iMovie media browser, is that right?

I need help. My computer died and I now have a new one with my old iTunes on a external hard drive (EHDD) and on my Ipod Classic.
When I copied all the music from my EHDD to the new computer it has put all the music on there but without any ratings or play count.
Is there a way I can use the info on my ipod classic to update the play count and ratings?
Also I'm scared to sync my ipod to the new iTunes because I don't want to loose these plays and ratings.
What should I do?

After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help in this situation. It contains a number of troubleshooting steps and helpful advice concerning transferring iTunes libraries:
iTunes: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive
Consolidating Your iTunes library
To make the move as easy as possible, it's important to make sure all of the items in your library are in one place.
Open iTunes Preferences:
Mac: Choose iTunes > Preferences.
Windows: Choose Edit > Preferences.
Click Advanced.
Make sure the option to "Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library" is selected.
Click OK.
Note: With this option selected, when you add files to iTunes, iTunes places copies of the originals in the iTunes Media folder. The original files are left in their original locations. To save space on your hard disk, you might want to delete the original files after confirming import.
Choose File > Library > Organize Library.
Select the option to "Consolidate files."
Note: If you recently updated to iTunes 9, you might want to consider selecting the option to "Upgrade to iTunes Media organization." This updates the file organization of your iTunes Media folder.
Click OK.
Note: If you originally did not have the option to copy files enabled, iTunes will copy files outside of the iTunes Media folder from their original locations to the iTunes Media folder. To save space on your hard disk, you might want to delete the original files after confirming they have been moved and are backed up.

To copy all the items in your iTunes library (including the iTunes Library file that holds all your playlists, playcounts, ratings, and other data) to your external hard drive, follow these steps:
Quit iTunes.
Locate your external hard drive.
Mac: On the desktop or Finder sidebar.
Windows: In My Computer
Locate your iTunes folder:
By default, the iTunes folder is located in:
Mac OS X: /Users/username/Music
Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\
Windows Vista: \Users\username\My Music\
Windows 7 or 8: \Users\username\Music\
If the iTunes folder is not in the default location listed above then you can find where the iTunes folder is located by following these instructions:
Open your iTunes Preferences:
Mac: Choose iTunes > Preferences.
Windows: Choose Edit > Preferences.
Click Advanced.
The location of your iTunes folder will be listed in iTunes Media folder location box, as pictured below.
Drag the iTunes folder to your external hard drive. This can take a while if you have a lot of items.
When the transfer is complete, your iTunes Library will have been successfully copied to your external hard drive.

how would i go about taking multiple files from documents and make them into 1 master file? I want to put all documents associated with this project together for easier access.

From the finder window, click File, click new folder, you can drag all documents into that Folder making it the master folder. You can ajso drag folders into the Master folder, and have them as sub-folders if you wish to do that. Either way they will all be in one master folder.

You can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
For other music you need to get them from where you got them before.

Open your other library, go to File>Add to library and navigate to the folder containing the files you want to add. Once they are in your new library delete them from the other library making sure that when you get the prompt to move them to trash say no. You should also back your purchases up to disc or to an external drive so you don't lose them of anything happens to your hard drive:

Move the com.apple.screencapture.plist file out of /username/Library/Preferences/ to the Desktop, log out and back in, and try again.
BTW, use the default 10 point setting for text. Your choice just wastes screen space.

Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
1. Quit iPhoto
2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.
