TAP Windows Adapter V9

Hi All,
I have been having a problem with my Laptop, Its a Lenovo G500. Since i moved houses 6 months ago i have had a problem with my internet dropping atleast 4-5 when its in use. I thought this was down to having a bad connection and contacted my provider, They told me my line with fine and it was there end where the problem lyes.
So i did alittle bit of googling but nothing really helped out. Here's the problem.
As you can see the Lenono Solution Centre is telling me that one of my devices is disabled which is the TAP Windows Adapter V9 which is causing the problem.
After Enabling the device again and restarting you can now see that there is a LAN network connected to my network. I figured out that this "TAP Windows Adapter V9" is some kind of VPN type deal.
The internet works fine again use this set up is in place but then it will suddenly just drop and i have to go though all the stress of trying to connect to my network again.
I have tried updating all my drivers ect but the problem doesnt want to go away.
Any help and i would be greatful.

Do you install any third-party VPN software or software like Hamachi?
From user’s experience, this is mostly caused by the VPN technology. You can check this information first.

Unwanted TAP-Windows Adapter V9 and TAP-Win32 Adapter OAS drivers installing

After upgrading to Windows 8.1, things were working fine until about 100+ updates came through... and now these TAP-Windows Adapter V9 and TAP-Win32 Adapter OAS drivers are installing over and over again. I uninstall the drivers and they come back, I
disable them, and they re-enable themselves. I have looked up answers to this issue, and I do not use a VPN...so none of that applies to me.
The unfortunate part is that I get constant interruptions with my internet and don't even want to touch my laptop hardly anymore because of this...but I need to because I am trying to start a business and get back into school. The only way I can get the
internet to work again is to disable the drivers, and troubleshoot my wireless adapter. It renews the wireless adapter, the internet works for anywhere between one minute to an hour before I have to troubleshoot again.
HELP?? How to I block those drivers? There needs to be a Microsoft Removal Tool and a major update...
I tried to add a screenshot, but it took so long to verify me that I had already deleted it after 4 days.

Build 10049 breaks openvpn: "There are no TAP-Windows adapters on this system"

openvpn is unable to find the (existing) TAP network device after an upgrade from build 10041. uninstalling and reinstalling openvpn and/or the tap device does not help.

I have exactly the same issue with Open VPN... :(...

New tap window will not open

I've asked earlier bout on Firefox that the new tap window will not open when I hit the open new tap button, but I just seen that it will open when it is forced to open a new tap window by the system..but when manually I still cnt open it @ all

Although advised not to, I finally hit the reset button in the Save Mode Window. This corrected the problem. I suspect a faulty add-on - I try and reject many. I will add them back on at a time as I develop the need. Thanks for you help.

Edit to Tape window wont expand

Hi, I have been working on Final Cut 6 and when I go to play to tape the EDIT TO TAPE window wont expand out at all. Even with dragging at bottom and side it wont expand open.
I can see the three tabs at the top but nothing else, can anyone help with this please?

I have a similar issue with the Edit to Tape window - when working in HD the ETT window often appears as only one pixel wide. The window can't be grabbed, dragged or resized. My work around is to switch the setup to PAL, open the ETT window, and then switch back to HD.

If I run a trusted reconciliation from our student records system to a group in OIM, that has an access policy thet provisions home directories on a windows server, some home directorys are created, but not all. Usually the Windows connector makes the provisiong run fail.
We are successfully provisioning:
1) Student records system trusted recon to IDM
2) Active directory and exchange
3) Blackboard (virtual learning environment)
Unsuccessfully provisioning
1) Windows
Has any one else had problems with windows adapter?

Works with an mp3 tape cassette adapter?

Well i have two questions.
Will the Iphone work with an mp3 cassette adapter? The one you put in a cars tape deck for those who do not know what I am talking about.
I read that the a new 3G iphone will be released sometime 2008. Some sites have said it would be early 2008. Any credibility to this?

Yes the cassette tape will work but you must get a headphone adapter to make it compatable. I have heard the same rumors but no one really knows except apple.

Disable slider value change on tap Windows Phone 8 8.1

I'm working on a windows phone 8.1 application with some sliders for various settings.
I would like to know if it is possible to only allow a user to drag the slider to change it's value. I do not want
the value of the slider to change when the user taps an area away from the slider thumb (eg jump to the tapped point).
I have tried to set IsTapEnabled to false, and I have poured through the slider xaml documentation.
I still cant seem to disable 'tap change value' of the slider. Any insight is greatly appreciated!

Apple wireless network and windows adapter

I have an apple extreme wireless network established in our complex and most of the users of the network are window users. They want to connect to this network with a good strong signal. What is the best wireless adapter they should consider to purchase to connect to this wireless network other than Airport Express? What would be best for desktops as well as laptops?

The Apple base stations create a standard 802.11b/g or 802.11n wireless network (depending on how you configure them).
Therefore any wireless adapter compatible with those standards and Windows should work. Of course with Windows you always encounter strange unpredictable compatibility problems.
I suggest that you visit discussion areas dedicated to Windows or the flavor of hardware you are using. You will probably find many recommendations.

Warranty on Windows Adapter (junction box)

The junction box that connects the Kinect, USB and Power failed. The PC is unable to recognize device. I swapped out the box with a known working one and its fine. MS website points me to the Xbox version and their support says it can't be plugged in to
a PC.
Apparently, they didn't get the memo.
We were in the beta program and then received the official cameras and purchased two more recently as our dev team expanded. Where can I get this box replaced? It's under warranty so I shouldn't have to replace it by buying the new adapter.

Dual Tap Netwrok Adapter

Hello and thank you in advance. My situation is that I need a secondary TAP to run a dual VPN environment. At the moment I have one TAP that when not use by either VPN manager work with either one. My question is if it is possible to add a secondary tap
in order to have a dual tap and VPN enviroment? If so, could you share the steps needed?

Also, when I checked information on thesed cables on Amazon, a listing for a Cable Matters cable says this:

No Internet Access thru VPN w/ Windows 8.1

I had VPN working with Internet access & then all of a sudden it stopped working. I suspect one of the Windows AUTO update changed something that made it stop working, but can not be sure.
Per other blogs: I tried to temporary disable firewall and antivirus program on Windows 8.
Furthermore, tried to right click your VPN connection---properties---Networking---IPv4 or IPv6---Properties---Advanced---IP settings---Use default gateway on remote network.
Nothing worked. When VPN has no Internet connection - I can still successfully ping 8.8.8.8 in CMD window.
Next thing I suppose is to post RAS traces?? But I'm not sure which log file I should post.

Yes, if I ping 8.8.8.8, I get response, but I cannot connect to internet when I try to browse. In response to your questions:
1. I tried ping www.google.com, and I got "Ping request cannot find host www.google.com" message.
2. Yes, by no internet access I meant I cannot browse the internet.
3. No, I don't use any IE proxy server.

HP Pavilion dv6-3043ee Realtek Network Adapter not found in Device Manager

Hi I own an HP Pavilion dv6-3043ee, 64bit and running Windows 7. And somehow the network adapter for the LAN got uninstalled for some reason. Now after posting something on the site I finally downloaded the driver for my laptop.
Now another problem, after or at the end of the installation process a pop up message was shown:
"The Realtek Network Controller was not found,
If Deep Sleep Mode is enabled Please Plug the Cable."
Now I checked Device Manager to see if the Realtek Network Adapter was there but it wasn't. All I can see are:
-Atheros AR9285 802.11b/g/n Wifi Adapter
-Bluetooth Device (Personal Area Network)
-Bluetooth Device (RFCOMM Protocl TDI)
-TAP-Windows Adapter V9
Someone please help. Thank you.

If device is identified but there is no driver for it, it will be appeared as unknown device in Device Manager with question mark icon (?), are you seeing such thing in device manager?
If not, you should refer to your PC manufacturer's website and download.
Make sure report this issue using Feedback App.
