Tape Contents for offline tapes

I am able to get a listing of all tapes known to DPM  using the view Vw_DPM_Media.
What I need is the same  information that I get with tapes on-line by clicking "View Tape Contents". How do I go about get this for all tapes known to DPM including offline.

Hi,
You can use this SQL query and home in based on creation date and / or barcode.

  • Possible to delete Offline Files content for a specific user from the Client Side Cache (CSC) ?.

    Hello Everyone,
    We would like to implement a script to delete the offline files in the Client Side Cache (CSC) for a nominated user (on Windows 7 x64 enterprise).
    I am aware that;
    1. We can use a registry value to flush the entire CNC cache (for all users) next time the machine reboots.
    2. If we delete the user's local profile it appears that Windows 7 also removes their content from the local CSC.
    However, we would like to just delete the CSC content for a particular nominated user without having to delete their local user profile.
    In our environment we have many users that share workstations but only use them occasionally. We don't use roaming profile so we would like to retain all the users' local profiles but still delete the CSC content for any users that haven't
    logged on in a week.
    Any ideas or info would be appreciated !
    Thanks, Makes

  • Setting 'Content Copying' as 'Not Allowed' for offline PDF

    Hi,
    Can anyone help on the following scenario?
    Generate a PDF that does not allow user to copy contents within the PDF.
    Setting the Document Restriction - 'Content Copying' as 'Not Allowed'
    As this PDF is to be open offline, there will be no direct connection to the livecycle server hence not able to connect to the Rights Management Server to verify the policy.
    How can this be achive?
    Ryan.

    Ryan
    You are correct in your understanding.  Just to clarify one point though, the client machine does require the "Principal" key be downloaded from the RM server and "Synchronize for offline" is one way to get the key.  In addition to this, when a user "authenticates" to the RM server to open a policy protected document, a "synchronization" occurs in the background and if there are "new" principal keys for other policies they will be downloaded even if they are not reklated to the document the user is currently accessing.
    Now, in addition to Rights Management, Adobe has two other "encryption" options.
    You could password protect the document to prevent "content copying", but this is not a very secure option, password protection is easily cracked, there is no user authentication, and third party PDF viewers may not respect\enforce the password protection.
    Another option, which is very secure is to use the "Encrypt with certificates" option, where the PDF is encrypted for a user based on the users x509 certificate (public key).  The user then uses their corresponding private key to authenticate themselves and view the document.  Encrypt with certificates allows you to enforce authentication and you can allow\deny the same "permissions" that you can with RM protection.  There is no requirement for a server, but the "certificate management" (certificate creation\provisioning\revocation) capability requires a PKI.  Also, the user will need to have their private key available to open the document.
    Hope this helps.

  • How do we split our iCloud accounts but keep one iTunes account so we can share purchased content for our multiple iPhones and iPads?

    How do we split our iCloud accounts but keep one iTunes account so we can share purchased content for our multiple iPhones and iPads?

    You can migrate a copy of the data to a new account, then delete the other person's data from each account.  To do this, on the phone that will be changing accounts, if you have any photos in photo stream that you want to keep on the phone, save these to your camera roll by opening the photo stream album in the thumbnail view, tapping Edit, then tap all the photos you want to save, tap Share and tap Save to Camera Roll. If you have any synced notes that you want to keep on the phone, email these to yourself so you can create new notes in the new account.
    Once this is done, go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  (This will only delete the account from this phone, not from iCloud.  The phone that will be keeping the account will not be effected by this.)  When prompted about what to do with the iCloud data, be sure to select Keep On My iPhone.  Next, set up a new iCloud account using a different Apple ID (if you don't have one, tap Get a Free Apple ID at the bottom).  Then turn iCloud data syncing for contacts, etc. back to On, and when prompted about merging with iCloud, choose Merge.  This will upload the data to the new account.  You will create a new icloud email address with you turn Mail to On.
    Finally, to un-merge the data you will then have to go to icloud.com on your computer and sign into each iCloud account separately and manually delete the data you don't want (such as deleting your wife's data from your account, and vice versa).

  • Web pages are not being saved to Reader for offline access

    When I find a web page that I wish to keep for offline access I have tapped the Share button and then Save to reader.
    I have carried this out for approx a dozen pages and when I access the Reader (specs graphic) none of the pages are listed. Is there a setting I have to activate to allow pages to be saved? I thought from the User guide this should happen automatically

    We, too, are having this problem.  I see two posts in 2008-07 reporting this, but no answers and nothing via Google.
    Details:
    1. The web server is a Red Hat Linux / Apache.
    2. It seems site-wide:  several department webmasters have reported the problem.  It may be limited to webs that are using Contribute and check-in/check-out.
    3. The only thing I can think might be causing it is that our NTP daemon is broken, and the time of day drifted ~6 minutes (I have since reset the clock by hand).

  • OS X support for offline files

    Dear all,
    I have a mixed environment of workstations running both OS X and Windows that connect to file shares hosted on Windows file servers.  In order to be able to manage the storage space effectively, tape based archiving was implemented using Symantec's Enterprise Vault for File System Archiving.  EV and many other archiving solutions use the Windows Offline file attribute to mark a file that has been archived off and install a filter driver into Windows so that archived files can be recalled directly from Windows Explorer without requiring additional software (this is also known as a reparse point).  Please note that this is different from how Microsoft intended offline files to be used for synchronising between a roaming laptop and a network share (see KB 312717).
    OS X does not have any support for offline files natively, both for how Microsoft intended it to be used and for use with archiving software as a reparse point.  There are a couple of offerings on the market which add the required functionality to OS X, but recent updates to OS X have rendered these offerings non-functional:
    10.6.7 - I understand that Apple replaced the SMB/CIFS modules with their own code.  At this point, it no longer became possible to recall archived files using said software offerings, when connecting to a Windows file server via SMB.  See Apple bug ID 10836961.
    10.7.4 - a kernel update is included which means said software offerings are now not able to block the icon preview in Finder.  The icon preview in Finder causes archived material to be recalled which we do not want it to do (imagine the problem when using tape as the archiving platform - this will cause a huge recall job on the tape drives)
    This is going to cause significant difficulties as it effectively means that we can't use archiving with OS X to manage our storage costs.
    I'm writing this as I'm hoping that someone will know of a product or solution that is able to work around the 2 difficulties noted above, or that someone from Apple is going to read this and realise that this is a serious problem.  The ideal that is required is to add support for the offline files, in particular reparse points, directly into OS X.
    Many thanks.
    A frustrated storage engineer.

    Hi Richard,
    We are looking at file archiving here and have the same potential issues. We haven't evaluated this product, but it claims to solve the problem:

  • How do I download cloud document to local for offline access on iPad?

    see title

    Hi,
    Once you open the PDF documents in Adobe Document Cloud (formerly known as Acrobat.com), the temporary copies of the cloud documents will be stored on your iPad.  If you are offline for a relatively short period of time, you can still view those documents.
    Currently, Acrobat DC for iOS does not provide the user interface (a button or menu item) to permanently download PDF documents from Adobe Document Cloud to your iPad for offline viewing.
    Here are the two options that I can think of.  (You can do one of the following options while you still have Internet access.)
    (a) Using Safari
    Open Safari on your iPad.
    Go to Acrobat Document Cloud (https://cloud.acrobat.com/).
    Sign in with your Adobe ID.
    Select the PDF document that you want to download to your iPad.
    Tap Download.  This will cause the PDF document to be opened in Safari.
    Tap anywhere in the PDF document to show the secondary toolbar.
    Tap "Open in...".
    Select "Open in Adobe Acrobat".
    (b) Using Mail
    Open the PDF document that you want to store locally on your iPad.
    Tap the Share icon.
    Select Share File.
    Select "Share Original Document" in the Share File dialog.
    Tap Mail.
    Send email to yourself.
    Open the email with the PDF attachment on your iPad.
    Open the email attachment in Acrobat DC for iOS.
    Once the PDF document is opened in Acrobat DC for iOS, it is stored locally on your iPad.
    Please note that you will have two PDF documents with the same file name. The one is stored locally on your iPad, whereas the other is stored on Adobe Document Cloud.
    Please let us know if you have additional questions.

  • How do I create DRM Licenses that can be used for Offline Playback?

    [ Background ]
    Typically, a license is acquired from the DRM license server when the client video player encounters a video that is DRM-protected.   However, some use cases call for the ability for end-users to be able to play DRM content when a network connection is not available to the device.
    For example - the user wants to download a video from their home, acquire a license to play the content, and then get onto a train/airplane where a network connection isn't available.  On the train/airplane/etc..., the end user expects to be able to watch their video that they downloaded at home.
    [ DRM Policy Requirements ]
    For this use case to be possible, the DRM license must be acquired when the network connection is available.  In addition, the DRM license must be allowed to persist on the device disk.  For this to be possible, one value must be present in the DRM policy:
    1. Offline License Caching must be set to 1 or higher.  This policy parameter indicates how many minutes a license is allowed to be persisted to disk once it's been acquired by the license server.
    [ Workflow ]
    Now that the content has been packaged with a DRM policy that allows for offline caching (persistance) of a license, the video player simply has to acquire the license before the network connection is lost.  This can be accomplished via the typical API calls that the Video Player Application Developer would use to do a normal DRM license acquisition (DRMManager.loadVoucher()).
    For example, by using the DRMManager ActionScript3 API: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/reference/actionscript/3/flash/net/drm/DRMManage r.html
    For other platforms supported by Adobe Access DRM (iOS, Android, etc...), please refer to the appropriate documentation around playback of DRM content on how to pre-fetch the DRM license.
    [ Workflow - iOS ]
    Enabling offline playback using the Primetime Media Player SDK (PSDK) for iOS requires a bit of self-extraction & instantiation of the DRM Metadata from the m3u8.  The reason for this is that as of PSDK v1.2, the PSDK APIs do not expose an mechanism for extracting the DRM metadata.
    You must manually (outside of the PSDK) get access to the DRM Metadata, instantiate a DRMContentData, and then use the DRMManager class to obtain a license for your content.  Afterwards, you may download your HLS content and stream it to your video player application locally.  Since the DRM license was pre-acquired before playback of the downloaded HLS content, your video player application does not require a network connection to acquire a DRM license.  Below is a code sample of obtaining the DRM Metadata from the m3u8 manifest and then using it with the DRMManager singleton.
    /*          Main entry points, playlistURL is url to a top level m3u8. */
    void PlayContent(NSURL* playlistURL)
              DRMManager* drmManager = [DRMManager sharedManager];
              if ([drmManager isSupportedPlaylist:playlistURL])
      // First we need a handler for any errors that may occur
                        DRMOperationError errorHandler = ^(NSUInteger major, NSUInteger minor, NSError* nsErr)
      /*          report error. */
      /*          Synchronous call to DRM manager to extract DRM metadata out of the playlist. */
                        [_drmManager getUpdatedPlaylist:playlistURL
                                                                                      error:errorHandler
                                                                                    updated:^(NSURL *newPlaylist, DRMMetadata *newMetadata)
                                   (void) newPlaylist; /*          updated URL is not used for this code sample. */
                                   if (newMetadata)
                                                      Assumes we are going to try to satisfy requirements to acquire license on the first policy in the metadata.
                                                      If there are multiple policies in the metadata, only 1 of them need to be satisfied for the license request to
                                                      go through.
                                             DRMPolicy* drmPolicy = NULL;
                                             for (id object in newMetadata.policies) {
                                                       DRMPolicy* drmPolicy = (DRMPolicy*)object;
                                                       break;
                                             if (drmPolicy == NULL)
                                                       /*          report error, this metadata is malformed. DRM metadata must contain at least 1 policy*/
                                             if (drmPolicy.authenticationMethod != ANONYMOUS)
    However, please note that the above only describes the DRM license handling for offline playback.  The actual playback of video using the Primetime client SDK is not officially supported.  You will have to use your own mechanism of saving and playback back HLS content locally within the application.
    Theoretically, it is possible to save the HLS stream to the app, and then embed an HTTP server to the app to stream the HLS content back into the application.  However, the Primetime client SDK doesn't not expose a way to do this directly, since it's not yet supported.
    cheers,
    /Eric.

  • Using a recorded meeting as content for another meeting - how?

    I'm trying to set up a webinar where we play a recorded meeting.  We don't want people to access the meeting whenever they want, we want everyone to view it at the same time.  The manual/help documents say:
    "Also, a recorded meeting can be used as content for another meeting."
    But I can't any information on how to DO this.
    Can anyone help?
    Dayna

    That is truly a poorly placed sentance with no explanation. To achieve this, you will need to make an offline version of the recording, so you have an FLV version that can be played in the meeting room. Here are the steps: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/connect/8.0/using/WS20F14479-39A1-42e2-AF0A-F8C2F1AA9BE4.html
    If you want people who do not have access to an Adobe Connect server to view a meeting recording, create an offline version. The offline recording is saved as an FLV file, which can be viewed in an FLV player, and distributed via e-mail, CD, or a server.
    Note:  Creating an offline recording takes approximately the same amount of time as the duration of the original meeting recording.
    You can minimize the offline recording window or view other windows on top of it without interfering with the contents of your recording.
    From the Adobe Connect Central home page, click Meetings or Training, and then click the meeting or classroom that includes the recording.
    Click Recordings.
    Next to the specific recording you want to use, click Make Offline.
    If Help text appears, click Proceed with Offline Recording. Then specify a location for the finished FLV file.  The meeting begins playing, creating the offline file.
    As needed, click the Pause/Resume, Stop And Save, and Start New controls:
    The Pause/Resume button temporarily stops creation of the offline recording. This can be useful if you must download a large file and do not want to strain system resources. When you click Resume, the recording continues from where it was paused. The finished recording is one continuous file regardless of how many times you paused and resumed recording.
    The Stop and Save button ends the creation of a recording, which is useful if you want to record portions of a meeting as separate files. Click Start New to resume recording where you left off.
    When the recording process finishes, close the offline recorder window. (If the window is minimized, it closes automatically.)
    Have the recording open on a moinitor with high resolution and full screen (before minimizing to the sytem tray), so as to get the best quality recording.

  • Making content persistent offline

    What's the easiest way to make Muse content persistent offline? How do I implement it?
    I've read on other HTML5 sites about the CACHE MANIFEST. I've also seen references to a way to make content persist using Javascript. The manifest sounds like the best way to go for me, if it works on the iPhone. And it would appear to be a reasonably important feature when creating phone Apps. So how do I implement this in Muse/Business Catalyst?

    I use a Withings scale. Yes, it requires the Withings apps but syncing has been pretty seamless. The HealthKit framework is designed to allow applications to share information. At this point, it doesn't appear to be designed to allow devices to share information with the Health app directly. Given the fairly rudimentary nature of the way information is displayed by Health, this makes sense. Health is great for making sure that the weight data from my Withings scale gets synced to My Fitness Pal and Runkeeper. It's far more useful to me to see my weight data in MFP where it is used with the food diary and the movement data from my UP24 to give me a good picture of what I need to be doing. Health just doesn't really compare. It gives you basic graphs and that's about it.
    So, I guess what I'm saying is don't discount the scales that require an app. The Withings app is very nice. It also lets me take my resting pulse every morning (which is sent to Health).

  • App-V 5.0 SP2 - Unable to download packages for offline use

    I have an interesting issue but I can't seem to find anyone else experiencing the same issue.
    We have a highly available App-V 5.0 SP2 environment. All of the App-V packages are storaged on a CIFS share. The packages stream from the share just fine and work as expected when streaming.
    For some reason, the packages fail to download for offline use (either by setting the autoload registry setting or clicking download in the client UI). When you click download, the link switches to "Stop Download" for about 1 second, then switchesback
    to "Download" without downloading the package.
    We had the same issue with AppV 5.0 SP1 client as well.
    There is no error or information in the event viewer log to explain why it is failing.

  • Can we create an overarching Apple ID for discovery/managing/playing content for our pre-K kid?

    I own several for work—and personal Apple devices and have been using one Apple ID to discover, manage and play content. This content consists of items that are (1) work based (2) personal based (3) family/child based (e.g. Monsters Ink).
    I purchased an iPad Mini for my husband at Christmas, and he purchased an Apple TV for the family— and now we are perplexed at how to manage assets that are "family" based without purchasing them twice. Essentially want apps, movies and music related to our pre-K son on both of our devices. Otherwise managing this will quickly become a nightmare of who owns what on which decive.
    Can anyone recommend how to do this?
