  • How to install and set up SAP BW 7.0

I have already worked against SAP BW 3.5/3.1 server with SAP DPA for a while. Now I would like install and setup the BW server by myself. How could I get the installation for BW 7.0? Is it part of NetWeaver 2004s? What is the general steps to install BW 7?
    Thanks

    Hi Zhang,
Yes. It is part of NW2004s. So when you install NW2004s you can select the BI Component. Make sure you select both the BI ABAP and Java stack. Also remember to install the BI content after this. The BI 7.0 has a separate frontend so install that too. Make sure all the frontend and backend are on the same patch level.
You can find all the set-ups and patches at http://service.sap.com/swdc.

  • Joomla! on OS X: How to install and set up?

    Hi All,
I am wanting to install/set up Joomla! on my PowerBook, and can't seem to find any clear, concise information on how this is done. What I want to do is set it up on my local machine, build a site using Joomla! and test it locally, then eventually publish it to a remote server.
I'm not too experienced in web design/development so I don't know much - bear with me. Would anyone here mind breaking it down as step-by-step as possible?
What do I need to download, what needs to be installed; where. If there are any Command Line commands, could you walk me through them?
I do/did check out the Joomla! forums but no one seems to be able to provide a clear answer (or perhaps are more PeeCee oriented and don't feel confident in guiding a Mac user?).
Thanks for your patience and time, I hope this isn't asking too much.

    Hi, M.
    1. Your question belongs on the Joomla Installation Forum. I presume you've read their Installation Guide which, in the typical fashion of Open Source projects, is rather terse and geared to either Linux or Windows users.
You said you "did check out" their forums, but have you tried posting this question on their forums? I'd suggest that and, if you don't get an adequate response, then perhaps you'd be better served by using a different product.
I don't mean to send you somewhere else, but you should be able to find help from Mac OS X users who've installed Joomla on their Installation Forum.
    2. You wrote: "I'm not too experienced in web design/development..."IMO, Joomla is not a product for you to begin with.
You can try the following apps for free:
    - Site Studio It's only US$30.00 to purchase. It's designed for coding in HTML.
    - Freeway Express. It's US$89 to purchase and takes a graphical approach to Web design. <a href="http://www.softpress.com/products/freewayprointerf.php"">Freeway Pro</a> offers more functions, but Express may be enough if you're just starting and, if memory serves, you can upgrade from Express to Pro.
If you are a student, you can get pro-level Web Design apps such as <a href="http://www.adobe.com/products/golive/main.html">Adobe GoLive CS2 and Dreamweaver at deep educational discounts, e.g. US$100 or less.
    Good luck!

  • How to install and reconfigure a new hard drive?

How to install and reconfigure a new hard drive?
I installed a new hard drive from best buy for my "vintage" MacBook laptop.  When I turned on the laptop and the flashing folder appeared, I need help?
I looked online for some clues.  I put in the software disk I received when I bought the disk but I cannot select a destination volume to install the software.  I tired to partition the drive within disk utility but there was an input/output error.  Should I just plug in my external hard drive and hope everything reboots like magic ?
Thank you for any help you can give

How to replace or upgrade a drive in a laptop
Step One: Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger, Leopard or Snow Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
Step Two: Remove the old drive and install the new drive.  Place the old drive in an external USB enclosure.  You can buy one at OWC who is also a good vendor for drives.
Step Three: Boot from the external drive.  Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager appears.  Select the icon for the external drive then click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Step Four: New Hard Drive Preparation
    1. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
    2. After DU loads select your new hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area.  If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing.  Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID  then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
    4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
    5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
    6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
Step Five: Clone the old drive to the new drive
    1. Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
    2. Select the destination volume from the left side list.
    3. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
    4. Check the box labeled Erase destination.
    5. Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
    6. Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
    7. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the new internal drive. Source means the old external drive.
Step Six: Open the Startup Disk preferences and select the new internal volume.  Click on the Restart button.  You should boot from the new drive.  Eject the external drive and disconnect it from the computer.

  • How to install and consume GroupWise Web Service (SOAP)

Hello! I'm Razvan, programmer from Romnia, and I am new to GroupWise development.
I am asking if anyone could help me with a C# Visual Studio 2010 example of how to install and consume GroupWise Web Service (SOAP).
The documentation from novell site didn't help me, i didn't understant much of it.
All I need is either a link to a documented GroupWise C# developer step-by-step tutorial, or some code examples.
Can you please show me some code examples in C# with:
1)loging in using a username and a password,
    2)retrieving contact list,
    3)retrieving appointment list,
    4)sending a mail,
    5)setting an appointment
I don't know how to use "groupwise.wsdl" and customise it so that it points to our GroupWise server.
Please, I really need this because I am working at a project right now which involves GroupWise integration.
I hope I haven't disturbed anyone with my simple question.
I know this might be a very simple question given the complexity of the other posts here, but that's why I really hope I will get an answer soon.
    Thank you very much!

    not "1.2".

  • How To Install and run XML/XSU/XDK?

    Hello,
I have installed Oracle 8.1.7, have downloaded the utilities
and xdk but how to get all this integrated so I can work with
    the sample codes?
I dont see the $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/dbmsxsu.sql -- this is
the SQL script which builds the XSU's PL/SQL API. xsu12.jar
need to be loaded into the database before dbmsxsu.sql is
executed. This script is automatically ..Nor do I see catxsu.sql.
    I assume this creates the xdkdemo/xdkdemo (user/password)? I
also re-run the runInstaller and attempt to see on the list any
XSU related installed or to be installed and not seeing it on the
list. What do I need to download?
A nice step by step how to install and test the install would
    be nice.
Thanks in advance for any response.

I entered "install XSU" into the "search" box and got the
    following back:

  • How to install and configure the SQL Server

    Hi All,
We have to install SQL server in the new server because the old server is crash and need to upgrade. Please advice How to install and configure the SQL Server to run SAP Business One 8.8 successfully and what part we do have to give attention.
    Kind Rgds,
    Steve

    Hi,
    Try this solution:
The step-by-step installation guide can be found in the documentation included in the installation media. (\Documentation\SystemSetup\AdministratorGuide_SQL.pdf).
Below are some important parts that you should pay attention to during the Installation process.
    Resolution
Collation setting: It must be set as SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS,even the company DB is non-english location. The company DB will be created as corresponding collation settings automatically.
Instance and TCP Port : It is recommended to run SBO on default instance and TCP port 1433. Otherwise, some optional components such as B1i may not work properly.
Native Client: SQL Server Native Client should be installed on every client machine to enable the ODBC connection to DB server.
    Rgds,

  • How to install and run NWBC.

    Hi,
1). I want to install and run NWBC on my system. Please let me know how to install and use NWBC.
2). I want to know that i have to install NWBC on every end user system or I can install this on server itself .
3). Is there any license issue for NWBC.
    Thanks & regards,
    Adarsh

    Adarsh
Before you start, it would be best to check for systems prerequisites (especially the backend Business Suite that you want to run against). Then you need to decide whether you want to run NWBC Desktop (i.e. Windows based) vs HTML (i.e. Browser based). The OSS Note # 900000 (NWBC FAQ) below should help to set you in the right direction.
    https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/sno/ui_entry/entry.htm?param=69765F6D6F64653D3030312669765F7361…
License wise, NWBC licensing is the same as SAPGUI ... It's free as long as you have the standard SAP maintenance license.

  • Formication : How to install and use it

    Hi,
I need some help. I would like to install and use the Formication CGI but I don't find any documentation usable for someone who never installed any CGI
Does someone use it and can teach me how to install and use it ? Or maybe there is a documentation somewhere ?
    Thanks for any help

    >I thought it was something well known here.
I'd never heard of it before.
Find here the message from the Mac OS X Server Mailing list where I found it.
    Hi all..
We are currently moving: from WebStar / Lasso 6.x / FMS 5.5 to
    Mac OSX Server / Apache / Lasso.850 / FMSA 8.
On our WebStar webserver we used FlexMail to handle e-mails sent from a
html-form, unless we wanted databases/Lasso to get involved.
I understand FlexMail cannot be used on Apache so I have been looking around
and searched the list for any tool to do the same job.
--> What tool to send e-mails directly from web-forms
with a reasonable option to format the e-mail and
    generate a response page.
Henning, most of the people that transition from WebSTAR to iTools Apache use Formication.
Formication is a Perl version of Flexmail, so it has all the features of Flexmail, plus more. It was designed by one of the developers of the original Flexmail.
When you convert from WebSTAR to Apache you can keep your script intact.
With iTools, all you need to do is to add the action:
    Flexmail /cgi-bin/formication.pl
    and the .flx handler,
    and the scripts run unchanged.
    >I also found that there is an invisible file
    inside. It's a .htaccess file
I'd totally missed that, and it's likely to be the
    critical link.
yes... I supposed it was something important but.... well hidden...
By default, as shipped by Apple, .htaccess files are
ignored. You need to explicity enable then in
    /etc/httpd/httpd.conf
Both 'Action' and 'AddHandler' (the two directives in
the .htaccess file) require FileInfo override for the
directory. Therefore, at the very least you need to
    add:
    <pre class=command><Directory /path/to/your/form>
    AllowOverride FileInfo
    Directory></pre>
to your httpd.conf so that apache will read the
    .htacess file.
Alternatively, since you have to edit httpd.conf
anyway, you might just want to add those directives
to the <Directory> block, which will save Apache
having to read the file each time the form is used.
    Thanks a lot Camelot,

Have you carefully read iCloud - Learn how to set up iCloud & iCloud on a Mac?, What do I need? If you are trying to run on Windows 7 on your iMac and ignoring OS X well you're pretty much on your own. You would need to look for supports on Windows forums. If you happen to use BootCamp there is a Bootcamp forum that you can post on for BootCamp and Windows assistance.

  • How to install and configure management agents on Tru64 Cluster

We are busy rolling out the Oracle 10g Grid Control to our enterprise and one of our targets is a two-node Tru64 cluster with shared file systems, i.e., each node can see (read/write) the file systems concurrently. Trucluster software is responsible for the clustering management.
On node1 we have a set of databases each with its own dedicated listener; the same for node2. Each cluster managed service set has its own logical hostname. For example, we have on node1:
    db1 (database)
    listener-db1 (listener for db1)
node-db1 (logical hostname for db1 service)
Upon switchover or failover, the database and listener are brought up on node2 and we need to cater for this in our management agent configuration. I am trying to work out how we install and configure the management agents in such a configuration. Has anyone done this or does anyone know how to set up the agents suitably?
I have already installed the agent on one of the nodes - that worked fine, and I have even managed to start another agent up using the installed software home on the other node using "agentca -f"

for this what components i have to  install in portal. can any one guide how to find the nwportal installation guide
    regards
    vredddy

I reported this to the moderators since clearly you didn't spend 5 minutes trying to search for the guides yourself. However, for some reason the moderators didn't agree with my report. Anyway, what operating system and database would the portal be running on? See the this link for a list of installation guides. When installing portal select at least AS, EP, EPC, BASIC and NW-MODEL usage types. After portal has been installed, you can start installing and configuring ESS and MSS. The next steps depend on your ERP release. Which is what? Include EHP level whether MSS Add-On or HR Renewal is installed (assuming pre EHP7). You might have to deploy business packages on your portal and you might have to activate business functions in your ERP system. Since there are so many variables, you won't find one guide that gives all the instructions. You will have to read the application help and blogs/documents/discussion threads on SCN for instructions.

Thank you very much in advance.

You should speak with someone at IBM. See http://www.spss.com/software/deployment/showcase/olap-solution.htm
Oracle doesn't distribute an Essbase product on AS/400 -- IBM purchased the rights to the source code through an agreement years ago.
