Tax indicator and code

hi,
1 may i know what is the difference between tax indicator and tax code?
2 in purchase info record, it has tax code in purch org data tab. what is the difference of this tax code defined and the tax code in miro?
3 if i enter the tax code which is different from PIR during miro, what will happen?
thanks

Hi,
1 may i know what is the difference between tax indicator and tax code?
For procedure TAXINJ, Tax is calculated based on conditions in the taxcode. Tax indicator is used to determine the taxes for vendor & plant
For procedure TAXINN, Tax is calculated based on conditon records. Here the tax code is used only to trigger the tax calculations.
2 in purchase info record, it has tax code in purch org data tab. what is the difference of this tax code defined and the tax code in miro?
Both are same.
3 if i enter the tax code which is different from PIR during miro, what will happen?
If you are using the TAXINJ, taxes are calculated based on the conditions present in the tax code.
For TAXINN, tax code will not play any role as taxes are calculated based on condition records.

  • Withholding Tax Types and Withholding Tax Code

    Good Afternoon SAP Guru's
I need some help with a very basic question.  I need to configure WHT and EWHT for 1099 and 1042.  I am in the US.  Here is the configuration I completed so far which I hope is appropriate.  Please tell me if it not.
    SPRO for EWHT
    Maintain Country
    Define Reason for Exemption
*is this needed for 1099 not withholding?
    Maintain Recipient Type
    Define WHT keys
    Check Recipient Types
      *1042 only?
    WHT type for invoice posting
*created I1 for WHT type for Invoice Posting
    WHT type for payment posting
      *created 42 for 1042
      *created ST for 1099 State
      *created FE for 1099 Federal
    Define Rounding Rule for WHT
      *is this necessary
Assign Condition Type to WHT type
      *what is this for?
My big issue is that I am confused on Tax Type and Tax Code.
I believe it is required to have 3 tax types for invoice posting and 3 for payment posting?  I have 3 scenarios each.  They are as mentioned earlier
    1099- not withholding
    1099- withholding
    1042- withholding
I haven't configured 3 tax types for invoice posting, only 1 at this time.
For tax code, I struggle with the tax code field because the field is only 2 positions and therefore, how do I differentiate the different codes listed on the 1099 and 1042 on here?  There are 18 codes on a 1099 and 50 on a 1042.  Any suggestions?
Do I need to enter 1099 codes twice because one is exempt and the other is withholding?  Or is that the reason why I need to create a exemption reason code for WHT type?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

  • Transfer of tax indicator to purchase order for service items in shopping cart

    Hi all.
I have a problem with the tax indicator in the shopping carts and in the backend purchase orders for service items. If I create a shopping cart with service items with different tax indicators, the backend purchase order have a unique item including all the services. So, all the PO items are under one tax indicator while in the shopping cart there is more than one indicator. I mean, the PO is not correctly replicated with the information of the SC.
Example: shopping cart in SRM with 3 items, tax codes: V1, V2, V1. The standard code transfers the information to the backend, and creates a purchase order with an unique item with the 3 services under tax code V1. So, the second service is not under the correct tax code, and will be wrongly invoiced.
We have debugged all the code of the process, and we think it is a standard bug. When you replicate a PO in the backend from a SC in SRM, have you experienced this behaviour, or the service items are grouped in different PO items each one with the correct tax indicator?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi again...
I forgot to mention that we have found and applied the note 1822107 (Purchase order: wrong tax code for PO with 2 service items), that fits exactly to our problem. But after testing, it doesn't work.
    Regards.

  • Tax entered incorrect (code 5A, amount 0), correct 113 YEN. Message no. FF7

    Hi Experts,
We are usnig a Tax Code 5A, which is of 5%. Its a Input Tax Code and has "Check" marked on Check ID field in the Tax Code's Porpoerties Part.
We are trying to posting a document in F-02, and we are manually putting the Tax Amount in the same GL which is assigned to Tax Code 5A.
i guess it should accept the amount which have put manually without poping the error mentioned below :
Tax entered incorrect (code 5A, amount              0), correct            113 YEN. Message no. FF707
Now, more surpirsing is in Prduction server the document got posted and in the Development server the error is thrown.
Experts, please help, since the Client have put forward this question to us.

    Hi,
If you want a warning instead of error message, you have to modify tax code properties (transaction FTXP) unflag indicator 'CheckID' in tax code properties.
Also field 'Tol.per.rate' in FTXP in propertiees of the tax code is tolerance percentage authorized foe amount entered in the invoice and the SAP calculation. Usually, we put '0,1' in this field cause you can have small differences beween vendor invoice tax amount and SAP calculation.

  • Defaulting tax indicator I1 on Purchase order ME21n

Where is the configuration for defaulting tax indicator I1 on PO creation transaction screen?
    Need help- thanks
    Raj

    HI,
You can default tax code in Invoice doucment not in PO. You can get the tac code from the vendor material combination document which is urchasing info record into the PO.
Or maintain in the PO / RFQ / Quotation and reference these documents to make a PO so that the tax code flows in.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Kiran

  • FPI1 -- Interest Posting -- Tax Indicator

    Dear all,
When transaction FPI1 (and also FPINTM1) calculates interests, it always uses main item 0040 and sub item 0020. These items are not statistical. Also, these items can be only configured with one tax code indicator.
The problem is that we need to calculate and post interests with the tax indicator that the original line item has. This is a Chilean legal requirement.
For example, if the original line item has a D0 (exempt) tax code, the interest must be posted with the D0 indicator; if the original line item has a D1 (affect) tax code, the interest must be posted with the D1 indicator. Also, if there is a document that has two line items, one with D0 and the other with D1 indicator, the interest document should be posted with two lines and two different tax indicator.
We have been searching for a event/user exit without success (2000 and 2045 donu2019t help). Also, there isnu2019t any OSS note that give us a solution or a workaround and this is an error.

  • Default tax indicator

Is it at all possible to default the 'calculate tax' indicator on the header for fb 60 so that users dont have to tick it?
    thanks

    Hi,
This can be achieved thru default parameter id for that particular user through transaction code SU3
In SU3 T- code, in Parameters Tab put "XTX" in Parameter ID column and in Parameter Value column put "X".

  • VK154 - Tax indicator T1 has percentage rate

    Dear Friends,
    1. While doing FV11, error messages "Tax indicator T1 has percentage rate- 2.000 "(VK154) is triggered.
Can someone help me to change this to Warning.
    2. How can i get the FTXP into change mode in Production client(which object shall i make use of to make it to change ?)
    Thanks
    Ivy

    Hi,
If a tax code alreday maintaioned with tax condition types with tax rate--why you are chnaing tax rate now for that tax code as system may have tranactions data for that tax code with fixed tax rate!!!
Now as you want new tax rate with  tax condition types, better create a new tax code and maintaion (FV11)the  tax rate with tax condition types. Now go for new PO creation and goods receipt.
Yes, there is a option to change tax rate in t.code:FV12 for tax code with condition type, but check the nature of Access sequence is JTAX. Is your Access sequence JTAX  well defind with condition keys.....ie..... where Access sequence JTAX  have Validity Period in it.If Access sequence JTAX  is a copy of Access sequence JST1,then you can maintaion to change tax rate with validity period.
    NOTE:
Validity Period available for tax condition types which have access sequence JST1 not access sequence MWST

  • Explanation of difference between 2 tax categories and -

    Hello
In transaction FS00 "create gl account" What is the difference between tax category "<" and "-"? They are both for input tax?!
    kr
    Arjan

    Dear,
I give you an example which may clarify your doubt.........
Company has received a service from painter and invoice has been posted so journal entry will be....
    Expense A/c Dr.  Rs 10,000
    Service tax   Dr.  (<)Rs   1,000
    Vendor         Cr.       Rs 11,000
Expense GL master has - (input tax) indicator set which means that input tax can be charged on this account (on Rs 10,000)..And
Service tax GL master has < (Input tax account) which means this account is ready to recieve posting for input tax amount (Rs 1,000)
So if you had selected + in expense GL master then system will not allow you to enter input tax code.
And if you had selected > in service tax GL master then system will not allow you post input tax to this GL Account.
    Hope it helps............

    hi
    >CVD TICk
CVD indicator will be auto ticked when when u go for IMPORT PROCESS
    check folowing for import process
    import process customization
    >MRP TICk
MRP tick is used for the first stage dealer scenario ,where at time of purchase u cant have excise values
the bill will be including base price exciseothertax + delears commisiion
    E.g.:
    Material Price = 80/-
    Excise Duty = 14/- (BEDECessSECess)
    Margin = 6/-
    Total =100/-
    VAT @3% = 3/-
    Grand Total =103/-
    Step 1:
Create PO with Base Price as 100/- by selecting tax code which is having VAT as 3% (Total PO value will be 103/-)
    Step 2:
Post MIGO and Capture Excise Part - 1
Click on More details icon in Excise tab (header), check MRP Indicator in miscellaneous tab, Enter Assessable value as 80 in Excise tab Item level and enter the excise values BED, ECess , SECess manually, check & save the document.
    Step 3;
Post Excise Part 2 in J1IEX
    Step 4:
Post MIRO by checking calculate tax, edit base value as 80/- enter the amount in header as proposed by the system (103/-), simulate & post the document.
Note 1104456 - Use of MRP indicator for capturing excise duties from dealer

So, lets try this. Look at if the documents which are showing withhld tax in FBL1N if they are paid or not.
