TDMS Data appears in row instead of column

Hi,
I am working on a program that reads in temperature data from a TDMS file, shifts the data through a 'normalising' equation and puts it back into the same TDMS file onto a different page.
The problem I am getting is when the normalised data gets written back into the TDMS file, the data that should appear in the columns now appears in rows. See picture attached that illustrates this.
Does anyone know how I can write the data to the file so that it appears in the column and not the row. In my VI you will see that I have had to transpose the 2D array otherwise all the data just appears in one single row.
Also several cells just containing 0 have appeared in my data set which should not be there.
I will attach my VI to this. I will also attach one of the TDMS data files.
Thanks in advance,
Rhys

Hi Rhys,
After looking into your normalising program.vi, I would recommend:
Don't use that Transpose 2D array, it doesn't solve your problem.
Write the "normalized" data to different channels, you get all the data just appears in one single column because you write all the “normalized” data to one single channel repeatedly, thus they'll appear in one column(channel).
Several cells containing zeros is because float64 y1[30] array in your normalising equation, you need remove the zero elements from y1[30] before writing to file.
I attached the modified normalising program.vi, hope this can do some help to your problem.
The snapshot below shows the data in Excel after "normalising" equation, the channel data appears in columns.

  • Displaying jtable as rows instead of columns

This may be really simple, but I can't figure it out. I want to display information in a JTable as rows instead of columns. Can anyone help me with this?

    Check here:

    les.html
They may well have what you want, if not they will
probably have some ideas you can use. There's always the swing tutorial, also. I learned JTables from the tutorial at http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/components/table.html and it gave me a lot of good ideas and points to start from.
You could probably create your own cell renderer (or use the header renderer) and set the first column to use that to display their text.

  • Displaying SQL Query results in rows instead of Columns

    Hi,
I'm fairly new to Oracle so forgive me if this is a really stupid question.
I used Mysql for a while and if I wanted to display query results in rows instead of columns I could end the SQL command with '\G' instead of a semicolon.
This would give me output like...
    Column_1: AAAA
    Column_2: BBBB
    Column_3: CCCC
    Instead of the normal
    Column_1 Column_2 Column_3
    AAAAAA BBBBBBB CCCCCCC
Is there an equivalent in SQLPlus to the MySQL \G termination?
    Thanks.
    John

    > so forgive me if this is a really stupid question.
It is certainly not a stupid question, but pivoting is a very frequently asked and answered question:
    [url http://forums.oracle.com/forums/search.jspa?threadID=&q=pivot&objID=f75&dateRange=all&userID=&numResults=15]http://forums.oracle.com/forums/search.jspa?threadID=&q=pivot&objID=f75&dateRange=all&userID=&numResults=15
In 11g you have special PIVOT and UNPIVOT functions.

  • How to display ID and Type in a row instead of column

    I have a table A with ID_NO, TYPE, PUBID(foreign key).
The type can be CAT, ISBN, ISSN. I also have another table B with PUB_ID (primary key) and a lot of other details.
The requirements are to display the results as rows like this:
    PUB_NO | CAT | ISBN | ISSN
    222 | abc | qwe | zxc
I know it would be easy to display like this:
    ID_NO | TYPE | PUB_NO
    abc | CAT | 222
    qwe | ISBN | 222
    zxc | ISSN | 222
But I need it in a row instead. I was thinking of getting all PUB_NOs and looping through each to get the rest in a PL/SQL procedure but is this the best approach?
I can't wrap my head around this. I'm not a DB expert and I haven't done any PL/SQL in a very long time.
    Thanks for your help

    Hi Aj,
First of all, correct me my previous solution.
    1. If you want to print the units in column wise i.e. if the for loop is in a table and you want each unit to be displayed in a separate columns side by side then in one of the table cell (i.e. in the for-each field of the cell) keep below code,
    <?for-each@column:ROW?> <?EMPNO?> <?end for-each?>
    2. If you want to print as a normal text (with out table) then use
    <?for-each@inlines:ROW?> <?EMPNO?> <?end for-each?>
Second, to modify the form field,
Select the for-each form field, go to to Add-Ins -> Tools -> Field Browser , then double click the for-each and in the edit box change the text according to your requirement, then click 'Update' button.
You can also place that for-each condition out side(i mean with out form field)

    it_test-bukrs = 'AE1'.
    APPEND it_test.
    it_test-date = 'mar8'.
    it_test-matnr = '23478'.
    it_test-bukrs = 'AE1'.
    APPEND it_test.
    START-OF-SELECTION.
      LOOP AT it_test.
        WRITE :/ 'DATE', 'MATNR', 'BUKRS', it_test-date, it_test-matnr,  it_test-bukrs .
      ENDLOOP.
Output Will be as follows :-
    DATE MATNR BUKRS jan/08 01234 AE1
    DATE MATNR BUKRS feb8   56789 AE2
    DATE MATNR BUKRS mar8   23478 AE3
Please set to resolve if this satisfies your requirement.

  • Forcing data to appear as row headers

How do I force a list of values from the SR Area to appear listed as row headers even if there's no data for that row? I tried writing a code to pick up the SR# for it and assign a null value in the # of SRs column so that it doesn't get counted in the totals. However, this will defy our business process since the report is required weekly and I can't be creating weekly SR's for the sole purpose of creating "dummy" data to force the row headers to show.

So you actually want to outer join the LOV, to the fact table, or not?
In this case I would advise you the following.
Create one request with the actual data of that week, holding only the LOV values that have data.
    For example:
    LOV Value 1____10
    LOV Value 4____12
    LOV Value 6____8
In the second request add all the LOV Types and use no fact but a dummy column, holding the formula: CAST(NULL as INT).
    LOV Value 1____NULL
    LOV Value 2____NULL
    LOV Value 3____NULL
    LOV Value 4____NULL
    LOV Value 5____NULL
    LOV Value 6____NULL
Then use a UNION to combine both requests.
Then you should get the following result:
    LOV Value 1____10
    LOV Value 1____NULL
    LOV Value 2____NULL
    LOV Value 3____NULL
    LOV Value 4____12
    LOV Value 4____NULL
    LOV Value 5____NULL
    LOV Value 6____8
    LOV Value 6____NULL
This is still not what you want because you now need to remove the double records.
You can do this by using the pivot table view, which will result in the following table:
    LOV Value 1____10
    LOV Value 2____NULL
    LOV Value 3____NULL
    LOV Value 4____12
    LOV Value 5____NULL
    LOV Value 6____8

  • Spry:repeat display data in multiple rows/columns

I know how to use spry:repeat to display data in table rows,
    one item per row.
Is there a way to tell spry to display data in a grid of x
    rows by y columns?
I'm trying to maximize the page's real estate. Here is the
    page
    http://www.jannah.com/mp3/browse.html
Click on "Artist/Scholar" in "STEP1" section. "STEP2" section
gets filled with a list. I'm trying to display that list in 3
columns and as many rows as needed. How do I do that?
While I'm at it, I also can't figure out why the spry:select
is not working for "STEP2" section; I need to click twice on the
same item to get it highlighted. the other spry selects on the page
work ok. Can someone take a look.
    Greatly appreciated.

You can't use Spry with tables to do this, but if you're up
to using a div based layout/presentation, it is possible. Check out
    the Zuggest sample:
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/samples/data_region/ZuggestSample.html
It uses floated divs to get the same effect. The nice thing
about using divs, is that more columns dynamically appear as the
    horizontal real-estate is expanded.

  • Need a report column to hold data for one row only

    Hey Guys,
I have a report which has a column that links to another page in my APEX application.
There is a requirement where only one of the rows in this report needs to have a link so I need the column to show the page link for one row and one row only.
The report will have about 5 rows at a time so is there a way to just make this link appear for the one row(it will be the top row) in the column attirbute in APEX? or can this be done in the SQL for the report?
    Any help is much appreciated
    Thanks
    -Mark

    Hi
The only way (I believe) to do this is within the SQL. Then you just wrap the column in a CASE statement and if it meets your criteria then build up the link and if not then display normally.
    Something like this...
    SELECT ename,
           CASE WHEN empno = 7839
           THEN '<a href="f?p='||:APP_ID||':4:'||:APP_SESSION||'::NO::P4_TARGET_ITEM:'||empno||'" >'||empno||'</a>'
           ELSE TO_CHAR(empno)
           END empno
    FROM empCheers

  • How do you set the number of rows in a spreadsheet, so that even when you drag data in, in writes over those rows instead of adding a new row?

How do you set the number of rows you want in a spreadsheet, so that even when you drag data in, in writes over those rows instead of adding a new row?

After the discovery reported above, I filed this report :
    Bug ID# 10073038
    Summary:
When Numbers is used on a system with decimal comma a csv file may be good AND wrong
    Steps to Reproduce:
With Numbers v2, you introduced an interesting enhancement.
In system using the comma as decimal separator, Numbers requires csv files using the semi-colon as values delimiter.
In fact it’s true if we OPEN the document dragging its icon on Numbers one or thru the open dialog.
    This said.
    (1) Drag and drop a csv built with the 'semi-colon' standard on a table or on a sheet
    (2) Drag and drop a csv built with the 'comma' standard on a table or on a sheet
    Expected Results:
Every normally constituted user assume that in
case (1) he will get a perfectly built table
case (2) he will get every cells of a row in a single cell
    Actual Results:
In fact you forgot the drag and drop way of use and in
case (1) every values separated by semi-colon are inserted in a single cell
case (2) values separated by comma are correctly spread in a table
    isn’t it ridiculous ?
    Regression:
Except looking in  QuickView to see which is exactly the structure of the file to decide the way we will insert it in a Numbers document, we may use an applescript fair enough to replace the semi-colons by TAB characters
    or
to replace the commas by TABs and the decimal periods by commas
    Notes:
While I am on this subject, I wish to make two proposals:
    (1)  It would be fine to format the date according to the ISO format year-mm-dd when you export a Numbers doc to csv.
Doing that, dates would be imported correctly in every countries.
At this time, on an English system, you export as mm/dd/year.
If the doc is open on a system using the format dd/mm/year, the results will be odd.
On a system using the format dd/mm/year, you export this way and so, if the doc is open on a system using the format mm/dd/year the results are odd too.
As every localized versions accept the ISO format (at least on entry), using it in the export scheme would give a correct behavior everywhere.
    (2) It would be fine to add the format Tab Separated Values in the Export pane.
TSV + ISO date format would give documents opening flawlessly everywhere.
