Telephone number for Line Rental Saver for FTTP cu...

Hi all
Looking for a telephone number that'd allow us to renew the Line Rental Saver package that we currently have. We have FTTP so renewal on the website is a bust and regular BT phone support does not handle FTTP customers.
If anyone knows the number and the possible hours the line works that'd be awesome.
Thanks
Mr Zipf
<TL;DR>
BT sent an email today from [email protected] today suggesting renewal of Line Rental Saver. When trying to renew online the website says "yours is not a BT number" even though it's unchanged for years. Attempted to renew on the telephone and got through to human in a couple of minutes only to be told I needed to speak to the corresponding team in FTTP and spent 30 minutes on hold thereafter and the hold music was freaking annoying. Then called back a while later to ask for the telephone number and told I could have it if putting us through failed. After 15 minutes on hold, I hit a hard deadline that was mentioned up front. Sigh!

  • Signing up for Line Rental Saver online

I'm having the same problem other people appear to be having in that I'm unable to sign up for Line Rental Saver online. The link takes me to the Unlimited Anytime Calls signup page and there is no indication of being able to sign up for Line Rental Saver even if I sign up for Unlimited Anytime calls.
Other threads have suggested contacting the forum moderator which I have done but three days later all I have is an acknowledgement of my email.
I tried to discuss this using Chat Online which was terminated by the operator and a follow up phone call proved to be a waste of time.  As I signed up for the Unlimited Evening and Weekend calls package over the phone ages ago and the order was never processed (I'm still on Weekend calls only) I'm happier not having to deal with a call centre as BT don't seem to want to provide any kind of customer service.
I'm tempted to walk away from my contract which was recently rolled-over by BT, what penalty charges will I incur if I switch to another provider?

    Hi auntyannie,
I can see your email is in the queue so I'll get back to you as soon as possible about this.

  • Charged for Line rental saver package but it's not...

Okay, so my first experiences with BT haven't been the best I'll be honest. On Friday 8 June I ordered BT Infinity Opt 2 with the Line Rental Saver package and Anytime calls package. All seemed to go through and the payment of £129 went out of my account almost straight away. Then on Saturday 9 June I received a phone call from someone at BT (for the sake of easing confusion, I'll call him Guy A). So, Guy A told me that there had been an issue processing my payment for the line rental save and that I would need to purchase it again once my infinity had been set up, whilst in the process of this though the line cut out. He then tried to call me back around 5 minutes later only to be cut off again. At this point I decided to call BT cust services myself to find out what was going on and spoke to Guy B, he wasn't sure and so put me on hold to go speak with someone, during this time Guy A called me back and told me to hang up on Guy B, so I did. He then carried on explaining that any money taken from my account would be paid back straight away as it hasn't really been taken (whatever that means), he then said goodbye and went. Once I put the phone down I received a voicemail message from Guy B saying that there was nothing actually wrong with my order and that I simply need to call back BT and confirm a few details to get the order submitted. So, I called back and spoke to Guy C. I explained all of the above to guy C and he had a look at my account, he thought that there might have been an issue with my engineer date and so asked if I was happy to change it to the 26 June from the 25 June, which I was. So he did this, but then realised that the issue lies in that I am migrating both phone and broadband from O2 and that I need to have a BT phone line before they can install Infinity for me. He said that he would cancel my Infinity order for me and that I would need to re-order BT Total Broadband online, and instead of choosing Infinity to choose just the standard broadband option 3, and that once this is installed to call up and upgrade to Infinity. I confirmed that he was going to cancel my Infinity Order and then hung up, I went online and ordered BT Total Broadband again, with the line rental saver and anytime call package. I then realised that Guy C hadn't told me how long a refund on the line rental saver from infinity would take, so I called BT cust service again and Spoke to Woman A, she had a look for my original order but couldn't actually find it in the system, so she looked for my new order and couldn't find that either, she advised me that it can take 48hrs for an order to show in her system and to call back on Monday 11 June to check the status' of my cancelled Infinity order and my new BT Total Broadband order. ---> Read next comment.

So, I called back today only to be told that my Infinity order is still going ahead and that they will install the phone line on the 26 June and Infinity on 27 June instead. I mentioned to the woman I was speaking to that I had already placed another order and she assured me that this would be automatically cancelled when they see that there is a duplication in the system. I then asked about the whole thing with my Line Rental Saver package. She had a look but couldn't see that I had chosen that option at all from the Infinity order (worrying) and that my latest order wasn't even showing in the system.
She advised me to call my bank and check to see with them if they have any pending refunds on my account, so I did. And, surprise surprise I don't.
So, right now I'm £258 down and BT have no record of my ordering the line rental saver... Please can someone have a look into this, or assure me that I will be refunded both amounts. I'm so worried right now that I'm going to be batteling with BT for months on end to get my money back when I really can't afford it.
Been with BT for less than 4 day and I'm already starting to regret the decision.
    Regards,
    Joe
P.s. Sorry for the super long post, but I needed to get everything down.

  • Paid up-front for Line Rental Saver - but my first...

    Hello everyone
Just received my first combined bill for BT infinity and calls, but I am so confused I need to ask:
    - I paid my line rental up front for the year
    - This shows correctly on my bill as £141
    - Further down the bill I have two charges for Line rental - why is this?
Also - I added Evening calls to my plan, but I only see Unlimited Eve calls there. very strange.
    Any help / advice appreciated

your package includes weekend calls and you have an add-on on evening calls.  all the packages are now shown differently with likes of add-on for evening calls which then gives you evening and weekend calls.  there is another add-on of anytime calls which shows on your bill as an add-on.  this was very confusing when first started in feb 2013

  • Line Rental Saver, New Customer - Where to sign up...

I'm wanting to reconnect my BT phone line and I've noticed this 'from £9.49/month' offer in line rental from BT with 'Line Rental Saver'. However on this page: http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/consumerProducts/displayTopic.do?topicId=30390 it says 'Just choose your Calling Plan and add Line Rental Saver.' When I follow the Choose a Calling Plan link, I then select 'Get it Now' for Unlimited Weekend Calling Plan, enter my details but I cannot see the option for Line Rental Saver, only pay monthly options at £11.49/month. Can anyone help me find the right method to get the Line Rental Saver option? Thanks in advance.

    Hi TheTallOne
It should be an offered option once you enter in your post code/telephone number after selecting 'get it now' on the web page.
Its shown as a radio button.
If you are still having trouble drop me an email with your full name and address details with a link back to this post and I'll get it sorted for you.

  • How to sign up to line rental saver

i recently sign up with bt broadband and free w'end phonecall. at the time i wished to pay the annual rental in advance but for some reason or other i ended up with an agent and was unable to take the offer up - likewise F&F.
anyway, just spoke with an 0800 CS agent and have signed up for F&F but he said the system was blocking the annual rental option.
I have tried signing up for it online but no joy.
any thoughts as to why i'm being prevented from taking it up?
btw i've recently signed up for paper-free billing.

  • Annual line rental saver

Just noticed the fee has gone up from £ 141 to £159.84.

Whilst this is specifically about line rental I look at the broader picture and BTSport for Free.
Nothing is ever 'free'  (holidays for kids, meals for kids etc) ... so someone has to pay for free BTSport and this could well be the thin end of the wedge and to those (and I am one of those) who have no interest in Sport may well be paying via backdoor methods like increased line rental and line rental saver for a service we just don't want.
    End of rant!!
All phone companies put up their line rental and add-on rates, even those who didn't spend money on acquiring sports rights.
Virgin Media, for example, put theirs up by £1 to £15.99 and increased call charges while Sky increased theirs to £15.45 on December 1st.

  • Getting charged twice for line rental this month, ...

My previous line rental saver ended on the 27/11/13 ,due to a few factors including a line fault which got repaired on 12/12/13 I had not renewed the LRS anyhow late on the 13/12/13 I attempted to pay online to renew LRS due to the first attempt failing for some reason, took me 15 mins into the next day to complete the ordering payment process To cut a long story short in my account i have a bill which is including line rental @ the full rate, and under my payments i can see that £20.60 has been debited from the £141.00 (cost of LRS) so in effect it would appear that BT are charging me twice, So today i rang bt explained this problem to them, they checked my account and confirmed what i was referring to , I explained that i did not want to be charged twice in one month and then credited back one line rental fee next month, I was then told that this was changed to no payment taken from bank this month , but billed for Dec and Jan calling plan +any calls that aren't included next month , which i don't have an issue with, But i'm not convinced that this will happen, as the bill for line rental this month hasn't been amended as yet, so if someone could double check this that would be great , as i don't want charging twice for line rental nor do i see that i should be

Well from the screen cap of the below page i would say that it certainly looks like they intend to charge me twice
I have 2 options though ,i have 7 days from 14/12/13 to cancel LRS for a full refund as per the notice given during payment process,
or they can amend the bill and either not charge me for line rental ( ie per bill) or refund the £20.60 debited from the LRS cedit of £141 that i paid

  • Paying for line rental and broadband only

I have recently received my bill and want to stop using my landline phone and just use my Internet phone.
    Is it possible to either;
    cancel my call plan altogether
    or;
just pay for line rental and broadband.
if either of these are possible how would I do it?
    Thank you

Which calling plan are you currently on ?  The evenings & weekends one is effectively free anyway.
Also consider the type of calls you make. When I last checked, many international call, for example, were significantly cheaper using BBTalk, but most of the calls that I make were priced the same as for landline calls.
    Have you considered a call-through service, such as 18185.co.uk ?  (not a recommendation - just a suggestion)

  • Trying to renew Line Rental Saver, unable to do so...

Hi, I have had a look around but couldn't see a solution.
I received an email telling me that my Line Rental Saver would soon run out and I could renew it. I have tried to do so but when I put in my phone number and my Postcode, I get the message.
We're sorry, our records show that there is an outstanding order on this line.
For any other queries, please contact one of our helpful advisors on 0800 731 0286 from 8am to 9pm Monday to Friday, from 8am to 8pm Saturday and from 9am to 6pm on Sundays.
Why am I not able to renew it online, even though it tells me that I can do so? Is there a solution without having to try and find time to phone a helpline to be waiting around for a possible answer? many thanks for any help.

BT seem to have problems with complicated IT systems.  To avoid the system completely tying itself in knots, they limit each customer to one order at a time.  So if you've ordered something, you can't order anything else until the first one has been completed or cancelled.
Sometimes, orders just seem to get stuck in limbo.  Perhaps a job was done, but somebody forgot to mark it as completed.  This leaves you with a "zombie" order that won't go away, and you're prevented from ordering anything else.
If you're lucky, the call centre will be able to sort out the issue.  If you're unlucky, they will mess things up even more.

  • Line Rental Saver

Bit confused.  I have to make 2 chargeable or inclusive calls per month as a condition of line rental saver.  I pay for anytime calls.   Is this the same as inclusive calls.

    Hi Angie29,
    Welcome to the forum.
Info on Line Rental Saver is available here, where it states:
You need to make at least two BT calls per month to avoid monthly charge of £1.50 being added to your bill
I can confirm the calls can be inclusive (i.e. free of charge as part of your package) but there do need to be  minimum of two per month.
    Thanks,

  • Line Rental (Saver) prices

    I've just read
Line Rental Saver costs £169.90 for 12 months of Standard Line Rental. For orders placed from 9th May the cost will be £183.48.
Is this correct is there a price rice occuring imminently ?

It was a email from BT - usual Libby Barr signature received early today.
This appears to be a genuine email as account details info matches mine.
Effectively it is advising that my line rental saver period is coming to an end soon (which is true) and giving me the options.
    It reads
Don't miss out. Pay in advance again for your monthly line rental with Line Rental Saver to carry on saving.
It is easy to save again. Simply:
Have your debit or credit card ready to pay the one off charge
Click here to pay in advance again with Line Rental Saver
You may see a charge for monthly line rental on your next bill. But don't worry, if you renew Line Rental Saver, we'll refund any monthly line rental you may have been charged for the time after you renewed.
Line Rental Saver costs £169.90 for 12 months of Standard Line Rental. For orders placed from 9th May the cost will be £183.48.
If you choose not to reorder Line Rental Saver you'll return to Standard Line Rental (£16.99), which must be paid by Direct Debit. If you cancel your Direct Debit, we'll move you to Line Rental Plus (£18.99) – www.bt.com/linerentalplus

  • Beware - line rental saver

Just look at my bill and Ive been charged £2 for caller display becuase I have not made 2 chargeable or 2 inclusive calls.
When I recontratced for Infinity unlimited I was told this 2 call requiremeant was no longer in the terms.
Ive just checked the prodi=uct page and legel stuff no mention of having to make calls.
    http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/consumerProducts/displayTopic.do?topicId=29984
I know it only 2 quid but thats not the point BT should make this much clearer - I wonder how much they received in all these £2 where LSR customers are not aware.
    Lee

Same thing has happened to me. Robbed of £2.
When I check recent usage from 25th - 30th may it shows only 1 call made on the 29th. I cannot check any earlier
dates as it just throws up an error.
Yet when I check the usage on the new bill it shows 4 calls in that period.
I have just swapped to paying the line rental saver option so is this another fault with the BT service that only happens on your first month?

  • Swirly lines in Save for Web

    Hi,
This is probably a basic thing, but when I use gradients in an image and then save for web and devices, I get swirly, kind of translucent lines if I save as jpeg or png.  If I save as gif, I get banding.  Is there a way to get rid of them?  I should be able to use gradients for a web image, right?
    Thanks!

    Hi shunithD,
Do you mean copying and pasting each layer into photoshop, then rasterizing each element or layer?  I could try that.
I'm wondering if my monitor is the reason the image looks bad to me.  I have af large lcd flat screen.  I'll check on my daughter's computer.  If it doesn't really show for other people, I'm ok with it as it is.  I just realized that the main parts that look swirly or blurry to me are the letters on the logo, and the checkered background.  Those don't have gradients, so maybe that isn't the cause.
    Thanks!
