Tell a friend page

Does anyone know where the 'tell a friend' system page is? By default it has some 'lorum ipsum' text that I need to get rid of.

Add a "Tell a Friend" button to an iWeb page?

When you create a .mac web gallery page on the top toolbar there is a button to "tell a friend" with an envelope icon. Clicking the button brings up a window that allows you to enter your name and the email address of the person you want to share the page with.
Is it possible to add this same button or at least functionality to an iWeb page?
I know you can copy the link and email it, but I'm thinking more about family that doesn't know how to do stuff like that and that button would be very helpful for them to share our page.

Tell a friend about a web page

I need to set up a link that lets a vistor send a tell a friend email from any given page within the site. Not neccessarrily through a module. Normally I would use a pop-up form and cgi script. What can I use in BC? (Other than just a "mailto" link)

As a note to be clear, that is currently the only way to add refer-a-friend, through a web form. The custom refer a friend form has been removed (existing forms will still work). Due to varius issues with its form process aspx as it lacked key elements the web form aspx as to prevent things like spam.

Tell-a-friend form shows up when page is printed

I created a web app that inlcudes the option to print and "tell a friend." The only problem is that when you do print, it shows the tell a friend form on the page. You can see what I mean by the attached. Why does this happen, and how can it be fixed!? Thanks.

I recommend checking to see if this form is inserted in the template specified as the 'Print View' template. If you still cannot figure out why this form is appearing, please either provide us with the URL to the site that this is occurring with or reach out to Support via your admin console > Help & Support.

Tell A Friend (product page) doesn't work - broken item link

Hi,
Does anyone know a fix for the Tell a Friend item link?
E.g if you "tell a friend" for our item here (use your email as friends)
It sends a broken link as the item url.
As this is automatically generated by BC - does anyone know how to fix it?

Send printer friendly page per mail

Hello everybody.
I'm very new with APEX and I couldn't find an answer to solve my problem:
I have a printer friendly page with several text elements and a report so that it nearly looks like a letter in the end.
Now I want to send this page as a "pdf-attachment" per mail when pressing a button.
I already noticed the "add_attachment"-procedure in the APEX_MAIL package, but how do i get my actual printer friendly page stored in a BLOB-column in my DB to use this procedure?

There are several different version of the get_print_document function, e.g there's this one:

p_document_format IN VARCHAR2 default 'pdf',
p_print_server IN VARCHAR2 default NULL

So you could store both the XML and XSL in a CLOB. But it might be easier to get started referencing actual report queries and report layouts, which you store under shared components and then use this API:

p_report_query_name IN VARCHAR2,
p_report_layout_name IN VARCHAR2 default null,

) RETURN BLOB;
Using pre-defined report queries and layouts ensures that you don't run into issues with your custom XML and XSL data.
The error message "500 Internal Server Error" is a standard Java error message that doesn't tell you anything. Maybe you could find more info in one of your log files. Are you using BI Publisher? Apache FOP? Or some other rendering engine?

Very well written, jymbo. Perhaps you should be the one writing a description of Arch for the About page. I didn't quite do it justice.
And thank you for understanding where I was coming from when I created Arch Linux. The goal was/is take all the good concepts from other distros (and BSDs -- ABS borrows most of its magic from the FreeBSD ports system) and package them together in one nice tidy distribution, with spots of our own unique innovations. Secondarily, I do not want to over-complicate Arch. We've all seen where that path goes, and it can get ugly.
I also work as a sysadmin/programmer, and I can honestly say that administrating an Arch Linux box is far easier than the plethora of RedHat boxes that I must take care of... In the company I work for, we now run Arch Linux exclusively on our in-house servers, and it's a breeze to manage. Other production servers of ours still need to run RH for other reasons, and they take 2-3 times as long to perform the same given functions (updating to patch vulnerabilities, configuring, installing).
But Arch still needs to prove itself to the general public, and more than anything else, that takes time. Myself, I don't really care too much if people slag Arch or disagree with my views (everyone is entitled to their own, after all). All I know is that my boxes run smoother than ever, so the mission was a success.

"Tell a Friend" Button (Bookmark or Social Network Button)

I'm trying to add a popular social network button called "Tell A Friend". When I add the html snippet to my website it doesn't work. The URL that gets passed to to the pop up box is completely wrong. I believe it references the iFrame, but I'm not sure.
I've been to several websites that claim the solution is to add a text box then the html to the text box (via find/replace) but this doesn't work.
Does anyone know the solution to this problem?
Any suggestions would be super appreciated.

If the code for the button is a JavaScript, then iFrames (HTML snippet) is not the place to put it.
To have the button on your page :
1. create a Text box that is 2 pixels bigger than the actual button,
2. position the text box where you want the button to appear,
3. in this text box type something like AAAA,
4. publish to MobileMe,
5. mount iDisk in the finder,
6. this depends on the button code :
6.1 if the code is specific to 1 page : do it by hand...
6.2 if the code is valid for several pages : use TextWrangler http://www.barebones.com/products/textwrangler/
7. search the HTML file for AAAA
8. replace AAAA with the button code
9. save
10. eject iDisk

IPhoto crashes when Tell A Friend in Web Gallery

When I click on Tell A Friend in my Web Gallery, Mail opens with "The Page Cannot Be Found" in the Subject line and "HTTP Error 404- File or directory not found" within the body of the text as well as other information. Also a message box pops up stating " The application iPhoto quit unexpectedly" . This will occur without fail. If I change the iPhoto preference "Email Photos using:Mail" to Entourage instead of Mail the problem goes away and I can email the invitation without a hitch. However, I would like to use Mail since this is my preferred email application. I have not had any problems with Mail when I use it outside of iPhoto. Does anyone have a solution?

After installing iphoto11 tell a friend link gives problem on pc's

Hi there, after installing iPhoto11 I was confronted with 2 problems: first, when sending the tell a friend to my friends the one's with a pc received the email but without the link, friends with a mac no problem, second, in my gallery I've more alums than on my web page, how can I delete albums in my gallery? would be gratefull for help!!

#1 - does this happen with ALL of your PC recipients or just some? Although not a solution but a workaround try sending the Tell a Friend email from the online gallery with your browser. That has worked when the email from iPhoto didn't.
#2 - the additional albums could be carry overs from previous iPhoto versions that didn't get carried over into your library when converted to a new version.
Log into your online MMe account, https://www.me.com, and go to the Galleries section. There you can select a gallery and delete it.

Web Gallery, Tell a Friend, Mail

I was recently at a hotel, which required re-directed the web browser to a dedicated log-in site for the internet. While using Aperture, I attempted to "Tell a Friend" of a new Web Gallery. Instead of the usual link page for sending a Web Album notice ("You've been invited...", with the album link) to a friend as part of the Mail message, the send mail message when it opened in Mail was re-directed to this hotel login site. The Aperture application crashed and closed.
Now that I am home, whenever I try to send a "Tell a Friend" email from the Aperture application, the mail message shows the same hotel login in re-direction site, and then Aperture crashes.
Q: How do I get the default "Tell a Friend" link back when I try to send the email? There must be a default setting somewhere that needs to be re-set to the default link.

I did not see your original post, but would think it could have been resolved by purging the preferences file for A2. It would either be the com.apple.Aperture.plist at Home/Library/Preferences or possibly the Export preset file at Home/Library/Application Support/Aperture/Export Presets.plist. However I am not sure given that I have not experienced this issue.

Adobe/Macromdia,
rather one of the many produced by third parties for use with
Dreamweaver.
Many of these are very good (especially project seven
offerings) but support
is predominently offered on the extension web site/forum.

Imitate Tell-a-friend?

When a customer clicks on a tell-a-friend button, the whole page darkens and the info box pops up in the center of the screen,they fill ou the info then comes the confirmation page...
Any way to do that with the mailing list signup page?

The only workaround that I can see to this requirement is to create a custom web form for your mailing list signup. Within the new custom form details add the "refer-a-friend" feature to allow customers upon signup the ability to refer friends as well through the form within your signup page.
