Telnet/ssh client for mac
My company uses a telnet/ssh client for windows called putty and since they only make it for windows i need something like it. They use the putty client to access the companies wireless internet system on that has an assigned ip. Actually they only use the ssh part of the client so i guess that woudl be fine for me too. If my mac will do it itself that would be great too. I just am completely lost anything would be great.
and if you need to create ssh tunnels, have a look at SSH Tunnel Manager
tunnel manager is not really necessary if your already using the terminal.
ssh -L 5901:localhost:5902 serverip.
The above is an example of creating a listing port making a tunnel for the above port this what people use for tunneling to initiate a vnc session for example.

Downgrade Microsoft Remote Desktop Client for Mac
Is there a way to downgrade to a previous version of the microsoft remote desktop client for mac? We are experiencing issues with one of our published remote apps (regarding window focus i.e. which window of the open application is at the front of the
users screen) since upgrading to 8.0.9. This application was OK in 8.0.5. Can we revert to an older version? We are also experiencing similar issues regarding window sizes and display settings with our remote resources, since upgrading. We are using remote desktop application for iPhone/iPad. Upon opening of our Remote App, although we have set the command-line
argument to open to full screen, we see the application resizing 3 times before it finally opens - and it does not open in full screen. Please assist. -
Has anyone tried REAL VNC client for Mac OSX? Is it worth the money?
Has anyone tried REAL VNC client for Mac OSX? Is it worth the money?
you should not be getting that many crashes and unlike others here i don't see any strong reason to go to 7.2 other than to get to 7.2.1. i very strongly suspect you have dodgy AU's (probably around 218 of them) and if you have a look at your crash log it should show you why you are crashing. if you see an AU in the crash log it is telling you it is causing headaches. my guess is that upgrading is not going to solve your problems.
just so you know, if everything is running as it should be logic will hardly ever crash. post up the crashed thread from your crash log next time it happens. also make sure that you have the proapp kit latest version.
i know its deeply frustrating when things are going pear shaped. everyone but everyone feels that the stupid thing should just work and gets the over-whelming feeling that apple is supposed to make products that just work, that we paid good money for that level reliability and if it's going to act like this we might just as well have stayed with cheaper PC's. reality is, once you start throwing thrid party's into the mix it is really hard to keep control of reliabillity. if you took logic back to zero 3rd party plugs and in built audio, it would take fanatical fundamentalist to crash the thing. (having said that - i reckon i could) -

Remote Desktop Client for Mac and SSO
Hi.
We have RDS Deployment (Windows Server 2012 R2) with RD Connection Brokers, RD Session Hosts and Web Access.
Windows clients log on without any issues, credentials must be entered only once (Single Sign On).
But Mac clients must enter their credentials twice (on CB and SH).
Does Remote Desktop Client for Mac support SSO and if it does, what special settings are required?
Mac users use Microsoft Remote Desktop 8.0.13.Sorry, I have missed important detail. This problem appears when I open .rdp files.
Really, if I create connection and save my credentials, I will not enter credentials. But in this case I can't specify Collection
(loadbalanceinfo:s:tsv://MS Terminal Services Plugin.1.SomeCollection - parameter in .rpd file).
In my case, I open .rdp file, connect to RD Connection Broker, log in to RD CB, RD CB redirects me to RD
Session Host, I log in to RD SH (enter credential second time) and now I connect. In this chain could be a RD Gateway.
When I connect to the same farm with the same .rdp file from Windows client, I have enter credential only once (SSO works).
So my question: Does Remote
Desktop Client for Mac support SSO? I know that SSO require CredSSP, is it implemented in Client for Mac? -
Hello there. I have my mac setup for SMB. I have a file that I would like to access on a windows computer, and I was wondering if there was a client that is Cross-Platform compatible. I know that Finder can do it, but I am wondering of there are any 3rd Party Clients that can do this on Mac and Windows. Also, can the Mac run Linux (Ubuntu, Fedora, etc) apps?

Mac OS X has a built in CIFS/SMB client. You can use Finder -> Go -> Connect to Server... -> smb://workgroup;username:[email protected]/sharename
Windows should be able to access volumes that you have enabled via System Preferences -> Sharing -> File Sharing.
Also, can the Mac run Linux (Ubuntu, Fedora, etc) apps?
Not native. Mac OS X is NOT Linux and does not use the same executable file format.
However, many Linux apps can be compiled for Mac OS X, or you can use a package manager to install pre-built open source packages.
And you can run a virtual machine (VMware Fusion, Parallels, VirtualBox) and then install a Linux OS into the virtual machine and run your stuff there.
Also many Linux apps use X11 for their gui display, and you can install XQuartz on Mac OS X then arrange for your Linux DISPLAY environment variable to point back to the Mac (the best approach is to ssh -X or ssh -Y from your Mac to the Linux system and that will automatically redirect your DISPLAY environment variable back to your Mac). -
Remote Desktop Client for MAC Broken Pipe! message
Hi there,
One of our clients uses Remote Desktop for MAC. One in a while he gets the message "Broken pipe!". His session has been lost.
I could not find or reproduce the same error. It looks like a connection problem, but this specific message must mean something.
Is there anyone who can explain this explicit error message?
I have not seen the message myself. The only thing I know is it contains "Broken pipe!"Hi,
I have never seen this error before. The only thing I know about the word “Pipe” is related to SQL Server.

Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection Client for Mac Not Working
I recently purchased Office 2011 for Mac. I work at home on my Mac at work on Windows 7. I also have a work laptop, running Windows 7, that comes home with me. My goal is to RDC my Mac to the laptop running Windows 7 to reduce desktop clutter, and easily work between machines.
I CAN NOT FIGURE OUT how to get Microsoft RDC:mac to connect to my pc.
I know that the pc allows remote desktop connections because I often use RDC at work from PC to PC.
SOME PLEASE HELP! I have spent hours and hours trying to figure this out and I think it is the time capsule that is causing the problem.
My research has found that I have to use port 3389 to get this done. I am pretty computer savy but when it comes to networking I guess I have no clue. I have tried just about everything a and can't figure it out.
Thanks to anyone that can dedicate some time to configureing my time capsule to allow for RDC.I cannot quite put together your whole network..
I work at home on my Mac at work on Windows 7. I also have a work laptop, running Windows 7, that comes home with me. My goal is to RDC my Mac to the laptop running Windows 7 to reduce desktop clutter, and easily work between machines.
So this is in local lan.. the PC laptop running win7 and the Mac loaded with RDC software. If this is local lan then the issue is nothing to do with TC.
That is only if you are trying to connect from work. to home through the router at work and TC at home. On local lan there is no blocking to ports. Are you using the local network IP of the PC Laptop?
Explain a bit further as it needs a bit more clarification. -

What is the best rdp client for mac so I can connect to Windows desktop at work
what is the best mac compatible rdp client I could use to connect to my Windows desktop at work?
Reflexvest wrote:
I've been using it for 3 months without a problem.
Maybe it's because I have office installed but I tought it was free to use?
I underwent the same exact scenario. Installed MS Office (Home and Student), and also installed the RDC client. Worked for several months, and then gave me the "license expired" problem. Since it went a few months longer than the previous installation, which was not part of Office, I erroneously thought that the licensing problem was gone. Not so. Six months after install, it is dead. I think the Office version just gives you six months or so of usage, instead of three.
It's awfully "nice" of Microsoft to pull this, without giving the user any means for resolution. It says you have to buy a license, but from who?, where? How much? -
Where to get Apple Remote Desktop Client for MAC OSX 10.6 8

Welcome,
The Client is built into all OSX base software so there is no download. It's the Admin (controller) software that is downloaded

Oracle 11g INSTANT CLIENT for Mac OS 10.8 with SQLLDR and WRAP
To Oracle please upgrade INSTANT Client 11g and/or 12c (future) and include two additional utilities I always use SQLLDR and WRAP. Currently I have to open a Linux VM to wrap and use SQL*Loader. I would prefer to do it all in the terminal window.
Actually I would like to see sqlldr and wrap utilities included with all instant clients (Linux, Windows, Mac OS, etc)Can you see the difference? (btw i am sure, genezi -v as sidadm worked with 11.2.0.1)

PS: the cause for the behavior is, that there is always a client library in the $ORACLE_HOME directory too. And you have to be careful which one you (genezi) picks...
