Temp Deployments in Weblogic 5.1

Hi,
While deploying a JAR in Weblogic 5.1, it automatically copies the jar into a
tmp_deployments directory...and, loads it from there to make sure that we have
the original copy for modifications.
Is there a way we can tune weblogic to stop this ?? Or, is it not possible at
all ??
Do let me know...as soon as possible.
Thanks and Regards,
Sundari. S

Hi.
Sorry, there's no way to turn this off.

  • Automate Deployments in Weblogic

    Hi friends ,
I have some basic questions in automating the deployments ( war / ear / jar ) . Let me explain the set up .
    Weblogic version : 9.2 & 10
servers : Unix Sun Solaris 10
We have 2 production servers ( PRUXAP01 , PRUX Ap02 ) which are running in Unix Solaris platform . We have 2 domains ( EMC , EMCSB )created across these servers in total we have 10 manage servers scross these 2 physical boxes .
    - We frequently get application deployment requests ( mostly ear / war files ) to deploy on the console . It takes time to deploy and all the time I dont want to use the manual process of deploying it by logging in the console .
    - I want to automate these deployments , I heard there are many tools which can be used to Automate the regular deployments .
    - Please suggest me how can i do that and How do i procced further in these automation .
    - I heard abour WLST & Hudson tool but not sure how do i incorpate my setup with these tools .
    All the advices are welcome.
Please contact me @ [email protected]
    thanks,
    Kiran

    Hi Kiran,
You have the following additional Options:
    1). Deployment Using WLST: http://middlewaremagic.com/weblogic/?p=303
2). Deployment Using ANT Script: http://middlewaremagic.com/weblogic/?p=373
    2). Deployment Using JMX: http://middlewaremagic.com/weblogic/?p=483
4). Simplest way Using weblogic.Deployer Utility:
java weblogic.Deployer -adminurl t3://localhost:7001 -username weblogic -password weblogic -deploy -name complexServiceEar  -targets ClusterOne -source complexServiceEar.ear

  • System-jazn-data.xml corruption after few ADF Application Deployments in Weblogic 11g

We have been facing issues of system-jazn-data.xml getting corrupted after deploying some ADF Applications causing impact on other deployed applications accessibility. As a work around, we need un-deploy the application and restore the template jazn file and bounce Admin and Managed Servers and then re-deploy the application. Anyone faced this issue? Is the root cause identified and a solution to this issue.
    Thanks,
    Kumar

    Hello Kumar,
We faced similar issues after deploying new applications and bouncing the manager servers, but not with "system-jazn-data.xm" though. Suggest to check with oracle(SR), they would come up with a more appropriate solution/work around.
    Good luck!
    Thanks,
    Rajiv.

  • Read only access for bpel console in SOA Suite 10.1.3.5.1(weblogic)

    Hi
For SOA Suite 10.1.3.5.1 on weblogic, Is there any way to restrict certain users to some pages in bpel console.. e.g. read only access to bpel console.
I have found articles on web regarding this but they all are for SOA Suite 10.1.3.3 (and 3.4) on Oracle app server. Article provides a hack by using servlet filters.
How to do a similar thing in SOA Suite 10.1.3.5.1 on weblogic ?
Can somebody provide step by step instructions?
    Thanks

    Hi James,
I have already seen this link and several refined versions of it but it wont work for weblogic. For example
There is no j2ee/oc4j_soa/applications/orabpel/console directory (i looked into home directory as well but could not found orabpel/console dir).
So question is where to put filter class and how to make changes in web.xml as this file is not present in j2ee/oc4j_soa/applications/orabpel/console/WEB-INF/
I checked deployments in weblogic admin console and seems BPELConsole is deployed as a module under BPELPM ear.
    Any idea?
    Thanks.

  • How to deploy Servlet Application in Weblogic 8.1

    Hi,
I am new to BEA Weblogic 8.1 .
I was trying to create a sample application using InelliJ IDea 5.1 , and IntelliJIdea 10.5 . i configured weblogic with IDE , but now i do not know how to deploy my application in weblogic .
I am new in IntelliJ also .
So Can anyone tell me how can i deploy a servlet application in any IDE like i also have eclipse indigo.
    Thanks & Regards
    Komi

    Hi Komi
Basically you deploy your Servlet as a WAR File. I am not familiar with IntellJ IDE. But it should have a provision to export/create a WAR file that has your Servlet. Also I hope you already have web.xml file with 2 sections like this: First you mention full package of your servlet and give it a name. Then enter a mapping url. You will use this url to run your servlet like http://weblogichost:weblogicport/yourWebappcontextroot/myservlet
    <servlet>
         <servlet-name>MyServlet</servlet-name>
         <servlet-class>com.abd.def.MyServlet</servlet-class>
    </servlet>
    <servlet-mapping>
         <servlet-name>MyServlet</servlet-name>
         <url-pattern>/myservlet</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
Coming to deployment, I hope you already created a Weblogic Domain and have admin username/password. Start your domain. Login into weblogic console like http://host:port/console and use admin username/password. Then from Deployments section, deploy the above WAR file. In Weblogic you can deploy JAR (EJBs, java files), WAR (web jsp, html, webservices, servlets) or EAR (JAR + WAR). In your case its just a WAR file.
Refer the online docs for more details on Deployments in Weblogic.

  • Cfreport and temp files..

    Hi to all...
I was wondering.. obviously during report building either in pdf or flashpaper, a temp file of those is in hard disk of the web server...
if in cfreport i use decrypt() to decrypt data, then all my data will be readable from the temp file?

    Hi.
On character set issues you might try posting your questions on
    weblogic.developer.interest.internationalization.
I don't believe you can configure WLS to remove temp files when undeploying an EAR. Have
you tried this with service pack 1?
Failing that I suggest you open a case with support.
    Thanks,

  • Initializing Servlets after Weblogic starts

I have 2 separate ears, one handling the security and the other
handling the business applications. The business app, on servlet
initialization, calls the security servlet on port 7001 to login the
default user. However, while WL is still starting up, the servlet
fails to recognize the listener port 7001 and fails with a
java.net.ConnectException saying it could not connect. This when the
applications have been deployed and the server is being restarted.
Is there any way to automatically initialize the servlet while the
server is being brought up so that it initializes after the ports
              become available?
              Thanks in advance.

    unfortunately no solution worked :-(
I tried re-depolyment of "ServiceBus_Console" in Environment/Deployments of WebLogic admin but did not help. I think i should have killed all nohup instances of server though.
I had to do the reinstall... :-(

  • JSP pages are not refreshed even though I change the code!

              Hi,
Just wanted to ask that even though I make changes in some of my
JSP files, the changes (e.g. hyperlink properties) are not recalled by the browser. This is happening even though I open a new browser and re-start the Weblogic server. I had same problem with Weblogic5.1. However, this does not happen always: sometimes, when there is a change in the file, Weblogic recompiles it and the changes are implemented. Thanks for your help!

    1) Check the date/time of the .jsp compared to the .class generated for it.
You could have a mismatch between the clocks on multiple machines.
              2) Delete the temp deployments directory to force WebLogic to rebuild
              those.

  • 11.1.2.1.0. or 11.1.1.6.0 (and how to migrate)

    1. I am confused, which version of JDeveloper ADF and Weblogic is the right one. OTN on http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/downloads/index.html offers 11.1.2.1.0 as primary choice.
But is 11.1.2.1.0 version meant for deploy in production Weblogic server or just as predecessor for 12c for playing with?
Why I am asking this? Because I hear from Oracle people which make production deployments of Weblogic server, that it causes a lot of troubles and that only version 11.1.1.6.0 is suitable for production now.
2.What will be in the future? Will 11.1.2.1.0 and 11.1.1.6.0 evolve into 12c or what.
I don't know what to advise to my customer.
3.I started project in 11.1.2.1.0. How can be it converted to 11.1.1.6.0 ?
    Sašo

Answer 1 - I have heard from customers going live successfully on 11.1.2.x so that definitely is meant for production use though only with ADF applications . SOA and webcenter is not supported in it.
Answer 2 - On roadmaps these posts will help -

  • Could not initialize AM in shared library

    Hello, I have some problem.
I deployed adf-library as a shared library on weblogic. This library is a real application packed in jar, and then in war as is described here http://andrejusb.blogspot.com/2010/07/deploying-adf-applications-as-shared.html The problem is that when I call taskFlow in this library from another application, I get an exception: libraries application module could not be initialized:

I’ll be very grateful for any idea about what is wrong and how to fix this.

codeplay, thanks for your reply, but it doesn’t help, classpath doesn’t contain my adf-lib jar, but it also hasn’t another jars which works correctly. May be it is because wls-cat works incorrect on 11.1.1.2.0 version, because it is for 11.1.1.4.0. There is this jar into application temp directory on weblogic.
I thought that my AMImpl can’t be initialized because there can’t be find something imported in it. But I’ve checked all dependencies and all seems correct. I also tried to use “prefer-web-inf-classes” property but no result.
h0s, I added reference to my library in the weblogic.xml. I think the problem is not because my library is “shared”, if I add jar to project as a common adf-library there is the same result.

    fuego.server.exception.MaxInstanceSizeRuntimeException: Max instance size exceeded.
Current size is 16538, whereas the maximum size is 16384. This occurs with instance '
Anyway, the sizes were not terribly far off, but I doubled the process instance size from 16k to 32k and the error went away.
Something to try on your end, perhaps.

  • JMS Connectivity problem

    Hi,
On one of our production deployments using Weblogic 10.3.0, we are getting the following exception when trying to connect to a JMS queue on one of the managed server. We are able to access the queues on other managed servers(there are 4 managed servers in all).
javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: Unable to resolve 'weblogic.messaging.dispatcher.S:+<ManagedServerName>+'. Resolved 'weblogic.messaging.dispatcher'; remaining name 'S+:<ManagedServerName>+'
This error message starts coming up after the server has been up for few days. Once this exception comes up, we cannot fetch messages from the JMS queues on the affected managed server. We have a java process that connects to the managed servers and picks up the JMS messages and sends it to external systems. The problem occurs when connecting from this process. I tried to find the queue depth by writing a simple java program that uses a JMS queue browser. The program fails too.
I checked the JNDI tree to find if a binding exists with 'weblogic.messaging.dispatcher.S:+<ManagedServerName>+'. To my surprise, the binding exists. Just wondering what could possibly cause this issue.
My JMS settings are like follows:
I have four JMS servers, each targeted to the corresponding managed server.
I have distributed JMS queues that are targetted onto the cluster.
I have normal JMS queues that are targeted onto the corresponding managed server.
The connection factory is targeted onto the cluster.
The problem happens with my normal JMS queues on one of the managed servers.
Please let me know if I am going wrong with my setup. Note that this issue happens after the server is running for few days. Upon restarting the affected server, I am able to connect to the JMS queues and pick-up messages.
    regards,
    Anand

I can think of two potential reasons why this error might come up. The first is that your WebLogic Cluster might be failing so that JNDI name-space replication between cluster servers has at least partially stopped working. The second is that you're working with multiple domains but there are duplicated names configured between domains. For the former, look for Warnings in your logs and also consult the general documentation for cluster troubleshooting information. As for the latter, consult the best practices section of the JMS configuration guide.
    Regards,
    Tom
