Temp folder for FTP Export Plugin

I am having trouble with a plugin that someone on my staff created.  It utilizes the FTP export LUA files, and I am not certain WHERE the files are temporarily stored prior to upload.
The problem is intermittent, wheas the images sometimes appear partial / corrupt/ or solid black.   I solve it by re-uploading.
Does anyone know where / how to find the temp location?
Thanks in advance!

during export the source path is readily available as rendition.photo:getRawMetadata( 'path' ) - is that what you meant?
I think that's exactly what I was looking for.  In quick test it looks like it will work great.
Again, I'm a newbie to Lightroom SDK.  I figured that what I wanted was probably simple, but after spending over an hour searching on keywords that didn't find a good answer, I figured it was time to ask a human.
Many thanks for the quick and very helpful reply!

  • Get temp folder for logging

    Hi,
    I have used System.getProperty("java.io.tmpdir") to get the temp folder. Unfortunatelly on the windows platform it returns
    C:\DOCUME~1\MyUseName\LOCALS~1\Temp\while on linux it returns
    /tmpso basically the slash "/" is missing on the linux.
    It seems to be pretty incomatible, as to build the full path I need to detect OS version to know if I need to append slash or not. Moreover on linux I would suppose to log to the _/var/log_ directory or similar.
    I there any better approach for my issue?

    Just always add the slash. The filesystem should be able to handle a pair of slashes just fine.
    And you shouldn't be logging to temp directories anyway. The whole point of temp directories is that they're temporary. The whole point of log files is that they're permanent.
    I have no idea whether there's some system property that's supposed to be a canonical place to put log files. I doubt it, because this is the kind of thing that's typically going to be configured on a per-instance basis anyway.

  • Hot Folder for FTP Script

    I'm trying to make a folder on my Mac that is a "Hot Folder." I want this folder to have an action/script that as soon as it sees a new file added it will open Fetch and upload via mirror to an FTP folder.
    I was able to make the Fetch portion of the script without issue, but making the folder "Hot" is a bit more difficult for me. I tried to use some script from the sample script "add - new item alert" but have been unsuccessful. I'm hoping some of you Applescript pros can review this and tell me how to correct. Or perhaps you know of a better way to make this work with automator.
    SCRIPT:
    on adding folder items to this_folder after receiving added_items
    try
    tell application "Finder"
    --get the name of the folder
    set the folder_name to the name of this_folder
    end tell
    -- find out how many new items have been placed in the folder
    set the item_count to the number of items in the added_items
    --create the alert string
    if the item_count is greater than 1 then
    tell application "Fetch"
    activate
    make new transfer window at beginning with properties {hostname:"ftp.hostname.here", username:"myusername", password:"mypassword", initial folder:"/pub/pao/images/"}

    Thank you all!

    Well, then. I thought wrongly, I haven't used those in a very long time and thought they were saved.

  • Changing default folder for photo export

    In iPhoto '09, version 8.1.2, under the new Mavericks operating system, whenever I want to export a photo from iPhoto, the default recipient folder is Documents.  I want them sent to the Desktop by default.  I can't find any way of changing this default.  Can anyone help?  (This seems to be new behavior under Mavericks.)
       Bob Anderson

    Long time since I used 09, but in 11 it defaults to the last used folder. Have you tried pointing it to the desktop and then seeing if the subsequent exports go there?
    Failing that a couple of things: in any export dialogue command-d will point immediately to the desktop. For more elaborate and feature rich alternatives check out Default Folder X

  • Custom home folder for BC FTP accounts?

    Does anyone know if you can customize the home folder for FTP account/login to BC like you can with other hosting providers? I know you can manage access with account roles, but I don't think it goes as specific as what folder on the server can be accessed by a specific account. Right now all FTP accounts login straight to the root folder.

    Hi Steve,
    Unfortunately you cannot control or customize this further via BC FTP.  The system will always open in the root.  All you can do via FTP is create/delete new folders as well as upload/remove files.
    Kind regards,
    -Sidney

  • CS6 Exporter Plugin doesn't open in Premiere Elements 11 (Windows)

    I want to make my (Windows) exporter-plugin compatible with Premeire Elements 11.
    So far, I have been gotten my exporter-plugin to appear in Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 and Media Encoder CS6, and the plugin runs there correctly.
    I then followed the directions for running Premeire CS6 to create an export a preset file (*.epr).  I copied copied  that exported *.epr file to "OTHERS/MyCompany/MyPreset.epr" in my Premere 11 [App installation folder].  (As well as copying the plugin-binary *.prm to Plug-ins/common
    In the <Publish:Share> tab, when I use the mouse to highlight 'OTHERS', I receive an error-dialog-box :
    "Premiere Elements has encountered an error.
    [..\..\Src\Exporter_Accessors.cpp-213]"   [Continue]
    After I click continue, I don't get the dialog-box for my exporter-plugin.  In the <Publish:Share> tab, I now see the warning-triangle and some text next to it: "Export Settings Invalid"

    Hmm, I forgot about using Visual Studio's debugger.  After some debugging, the error was triggered the first time the SDK_Exporter plugin called anything involving the <exportParamSuite>.
    After a little more digging, I found that Adobe Premiere Elements 11 doesn't support the latest version of the exportParamSuite (kPrSDKExportParamSuiteVersion4).
    In the CS6 SDK sample project SDK_Exporter, the function exSDKBeginInstance() grabs all of the suiteAPIs.  The following call fails:
         spError = spBasic->AcquireSuite(
             kPrSDKExportParamSuite,
             kPrSDKExportParamSuiteVersion, // CS6 supports v4,  but crashes in Premiere Elements 11
             const_cast<const void**>(reinterpret_cast<void**>(&(mySettings->exportParamSuite))));
    The original-call returns an spError code of <kSPSuiteNotFoundError>, which is actually misleading. I changed the version-argument to v3, and the error-call went away.
         spError = spBasic->AcquireSuite(
             kPrSDKExportParamSuite,
             kPrSDKMemoryManagerSuiteVersion3, // compatible with Premiere Elements 11
             const_cast<const void**>(reinterpret_cast<void**>(&(mySettings->exportParamSuite))));
    so it looks like Premiere Pro CS6 SDK's sample SDK_Exporter project requires a few tweaks to run with Premiere elements 11.

  • Premier 7 Export Plugin Migration

    For the last couple years our company has developed a plugin for Premier Elements 7 that we use to create video content for our product.  We will need to move to the latest version of Premier as 7 is no longer available.  But from what I can tell the Export plugin support is no longer supported in Premier 9.  What is the process for migrating export plugins to the latest versions of Premier?
    Thanks if advance for any help.

    Welcome to the forum.
    You pose a good question.
    I do not know if any of the regulars here can help much, but perhaps an Adobe employee can stop by, and give you an answer.
    I do not know of an SDK for PrE, but that does not mean that one is not available. I know that a few 3rd party developers DO write plug-ins for PrE, such as NewBlue FX, ProDAD, SmartSound and some more. They obviously have input from Adobe to help in their development process.
    One consideration for a plug-in developer, is that as of PrE 10, there are both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the program, and that usually means two different plug-ins, one for 32-bit, and one for 64-bit. When PrPro (there IS an SDK for it) went to 64-bit only, with CS5, it took a little time for developers to rewrite their plug-ins, CODEC's, etc., for 64-bit programs. Most were able to do that fairly quickly.
    Wish that I had someone, or somewhere to direct you, but I do not. Maybe Steve Grisetti knows who/where you can get the necessary info?
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Temp folder and Creative Cloud

    Is Creative Cloud or CC Applications using Windows Temp folder? I use to delete regularly the contents of this folder.

    The temp folder under Windows is used by CC for saving temporarily available updates or complete application downloads while the download and install process is going on through CC desktop app. The Local/Temp folder for your user account contains useful logs like amt3, oobelib and PDApp logs which can be used by Adobe technical support for investigation purposes on encountering application malfunctioning issues. You may clean both Temp folders but by skipping these above files listed.

  • Function module to get the file path in the system for TEMP folder

    Hi All,
    Is there any function module that I can use to get the file path in the system for TEMP folder.
    I mean, i am supposed to give only TEMP as the input for that function module and I need to get the path of that in the system as the output.
    I am unsing 4.0 version.
    Please advice.
    Regards
    Ramesh

    In Higher versions, we can use the below code:
    call method CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES=>ENVIRONMENT_GET_VARIABLE
        exporting
          VARIABLE   = 'TEMP'
        importing
          VALUE      = LV_TMP
        exceptions
          CNTL_ERROR = 1
          others     = 2.
      if SY-SUBRC <> 0.
        message id SY-MSGID type SY-MSGTY number SY-MSGNO
        with SY-MSGV1 SY-MSGV2 SY-MSGV3 SY-MSGV4.
      endif.
      call method CL_GUI_CFW=>FLUSH
        exceptions
          CNTL_SYSTEM_ERROR = 1
          CNTL_ERROR        = 2
          others            = 3.
      if SY-SUBRC <> 0.
    Error handling
      endif.
      concatenate lv_tmp '\' into folder_path.
    But need to know in the lower versions like 3.1h and 4.0,

  • Server has not enough memory for operation (Some .rpt files not removing from Temp folder )

    We have web application developed in ASP.NET 4.0 ftramework and published on IIS. And we are using 13_0_8 version of CR.
    I am creating report files and exporting these as pdf. And I am disposing streams and report documents at the end. Initially, there wasn't any problem and temporary files which are created by CrystalReport were deleting all. But, now requests to the web application increeased to about 50.000 in a day and now some .rpt files are staying in Temp folder and I can't delete them. After recycling application pool all files are removed by IIS. Then, after 1 or 2 hours new .rpt files are creating in Temp folder. And after somewhile, application throws Server has not enough memory for operation. And, IMHO the reason is temp files. Here is the code I am using to export report as pdf.
    Questions:
    1. Is the reason of this exception is temp files in Temp folder?
    2. What is wrong in that code?
    ReportDocument report = DownloadPDF.GetReport(id);
       MemoryStream stream = (MemoryStream)report.ExportToStream(CrystalDecisions.Shared.ExportFormatType.PortableDocFormat);
       Response.ContentType = "application/pdf";
       Response.AddHeader("content-disposition", "attachment; filename=" + id+ ".pdf");
      report.Close();
      report.Dispose();
       try
       Response.BinaryWrite(stream.ToArray());
       Response.End();
       catch (Exception)
       finally
      stream.Flush();
      stream.Close();
      stream.Dispose();

  • How can I remove the Facebook Exporter Plugin (32-bit) designed for AP2?

    Now that I have A3 which has native ability to export to Facebook, I wanted to delete this plugin I have used and downloaded from the plugin page.
    This plugin does not create/provide a plugin that is supposed to reside in the Library/Application Support/Aperture/Plug-ins instead there is a package file and an installer; the developer who created this (and who according to post on his site) no longer is actively developing it.
    So it isn't an easy case of just removing the plugin from that directory.
    For those who use this plugin does anyone know how to remove it?

    Yes, it's stil in the export menu. I also had the flickr exporter that was developed by another developer and initially that was in the export menu as well in Aperture 3. I went to the plugins folder and removed the plugin then when I restarted Aperture the flickr plugin was removed (as expected).
    But this Facebook plugin never created a "plugin" per se (a spotlight search indicated some files with the extension ".h" in the Library/Frameworks folder but I'm not sure what that means...).
    Consequently there never was a plugin in the Plugin folder to delete, hence my dilemma.

  • Confused: Simple Export Plugin for several formats and sizes

    Hi all,
    I'm a bit confused about the Lightroom SDK structure - and the tiny documentation isn't helpfully at all...
    I want to create a plug-in which exports several versions of each selected image (JPEGs in original size, thumbnails, etc.), TIFF-Versions, a copy of the Master-Image, etc to a specific directory.
    I don't really know where to start - I explored the ftp sample plugin but but I can't find a hint where to tell Lightroom which different versions it should export.
    Could anyone help me getting started? Is there anywhere additional documentation - beside the Manual and the API reference?
    Thanks in advance...
    Jonas

    Hello Jonas;
    I had a similar need and as far as I can tell, you can have lightroom export only one version of the image, but you can use that image create other versions. For example, I used imagemagic to create two versions of the original image scaled differently, copied them to a specific directory and then re-directed the exported image to another directory.
    You may be able to kick off different export sessions with loading different settings(one for tiff, one for different sizes, but I have not done that, and others may be able to give some insight).
    I think the easiest way is to use an external tool to generated the different sizes/formats for you and Lightroom only exports one of them, probably the one that is hardest(or needs more manual tuning) with external tools.

  • Temp folder was not set for RTFStringbuffer Error

    Hi,
    We are using CR XI 11.0.0.895 and CR XI JRC is been used to generate the reports in PDF and RTF format.
    While generating report of more than 1000 pages in RTF format throws the below mentioned exception
    temp folder was not set for RTFStringbuffer
    However, Generating reports in PDF format generates the report.
    Find below the environment details which would helpful for the analysis.
    CR XI 11.0.0.895
    IE 6.0
    MS-office 2003
    Windows XP SP2
    Reports JRC application deployed on Weblogic 8.1.4
    Please suggest us a solution for this problem.
    Thanks in advance.

    If you run [Process Monitor|http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx], do you see any file access errors when the JRC tries creating a temp RTF file?
    I think I've recommended this before, but have you tried the newest version of the JRC?
    [https://boc.sdn.sap.com/node/19020]
    The XI Release 1 keycode will work with it.

  • Any Flickr Export plugin available for Aperture 3?

    I was happy to see Flickr included in Aperture 3, but to say the least, it really *****.
    The worst thing is that it applies my own keywords to all the uploaded images. I don't want the (full) names of peoples in my pictures to display at Flickr and having my local-language keywords on my images probably doesn't help Flickr where most users are speaking english (compared to my local language).
    Basically I wish the Flickr export feature would allow me to either "not sync keywords" or modify my keywords to determine if I want them exported or not - like Lightroom does.

    Thanks for the warning Martin. I already know from iPhoto's flickr export that you gotta be careful. I guess the iPhoto/Aperture flickr export is great for those wanting REAL simplicity, but if you want to adjust just one or two settings, it's a no-go and it kinda *****
    I hope there's an AP3 flickr export plugin out there? I would be willing to spend $10 on it.
