Temp tables with a XML target

Hi guys,
I posted a question last week about sorting an element while generating an XML file but didn't get any answers maybe my question wasn't clear. Here is another problem with the XML technology...which begins to upset me because I don't have any idea to solve it.
To sum up, my XML schema named QST is stored in the memory engine and not in an external base. I have a package with a set of interfaces one for each XML table and a final CreateXMLFile treatment.
Most of the time, my package runs well but sometimes I get this error in one interface:
Step 1:
+     Query+
+     drop table QST.C$_0QUESTION+
+     Warning message:+
+     0 : null : java.sql.SQLException: Table not found: QST_C$_0QUESTION in statement [drop table QST_C$_0QUESTION]+
Step 2:
+     Query:+
+     create table QST.C$_0QUESTION ( .... )+
+     Error message:+
+     0 : null : java.sql.SQLException: The table C$_0QUESTION already exists in the schema QST+
This problem can occur at the creation of any working table C$, I$, E$ or SNP_CHECK_TAB.
So it seems it is linked with the in build memory but what gets me mad is that I can't get the pattern to reproduce the error.
Any idea would be greatly appreciated and I really hope this post will be more "inspiring" than my first one :D
Thanks,
Thierry

Hi Rathish,
thanks a lot for the time you spend to help me.
As you say, the table is coming with an underscore in the error message... it's strange but I think it's just a small bug when ODI generates the error message. I say so because the package runs with success most of the time and the XML I get is well built. But maybe not, so to answer your questions.
The KM I use is the original IKM SQL Incremental Update as it is indicated in the ODI user guide.
So there shouldn't be any problem
Best regards,
Thierry

    I’ll get an ora-19007.
    Can some one point me in the right direction how to solve this error.
    Thanks Roelof.

    Who did you create the second table, in other words, how did you COPY the table as you said...
    If you created the second table via a CTAS (create table as select) then you will have created a table that is not the same as the original one. AFAIK I have once created an enhancement request for this after discovering that JDeveloper, for example, creates a "copy" via a CTAS which creates the wrong structure. Double check via package DBMS_METADATA.
    SQL> set long 1000000
    SQL> select DBMS_METADATA('TABLE','TABLE_WITH_XMLTYPE','SchemaA') from dual;
    SQL> select DBMS_METADATA('TABLE','TABLE_WITH_XMLTYPE','SchemaB') from dual;If you have got two different tables, than Mark's solution should help.

    No, I don't think that explanation is correct. I don't think it has to do with user privs. besides, we don't
    adjust rowids on an import -- we recreate the index, just like a b-tree index import would.
    This should be working. It's most likely a bug in our (i.e. Text) import code -- SYS.XMLTYPE is a little
    strange because under the covers it's actually a function-based index.
    I will test it out and file a bug if I can reproduce the behavior on solaris.

  • Populating a temp table with multiple records.

    I want to populate a temp table with a a set of recs. This table will be used for
    crossing/joining with my other tables to pull out data.
    ie:
    Main table (loc)contains these fields -> county,permit,utme,utmn
    Temp table ( tmpid) contains these fields -> countytemp, permittemp
    So I will be doing a statement like this once my temp table is populated.
    Select l.county,l.permit,l.utme,l.utmn from loc l,tmpid t where l.county=t.countytemp and l.permit=t.permittemp;
    So this temp table will basically be a list of ids that can range from a few recs to several hundred.
    I want to know is there is way I can poplulate/repopulate it easily using sqlPlus/other by reading in a Ascii file
    from client PCs. (besides SQL loader).

    HI
    let me explain my requirement first,
    i need to populate my block with the results from the following sql
    SELECT * from contactdet where
    (Month=12 and TrType='MTM' and FinYr='04-05' and Userid='SA009' and Clcode='SB001')
    UNION
    SELECT * from contactdetSUM where (Clcode='SB001' AND CSCODE='AB001')
    Pease note. the where clauses i have put are different in each table and my requirement is
    the constants values i have put in where clause should be variable (ie. i should be able to put variables like :clcode or so)
    I tried us using Query data source type as 'FROM clause query' but it does not allow me to put variables in where clause.
    Is there any way out i can do this ? Please help me

  • Global Temp table with BLOB causing session crash

    Hi,
    i have a table as follows:
    create global temporary table spg_file_import (
    name varchar2 (128) constraint sfi_nam_ck not null,
    mime_type varchar2 (128),
    doc_size number,
    dad_charset varchar2 (128),
    last_updated date,
    content_type varchar2 (128),
    content long raw,
    blob_content blob
    on commit delete rows
    this is my 9ias 'document' table thats used to receive uploaded files which i modified to be global temporary.
    what i want to do is:
    a)upload a text file (xml)
    b) convert that file to clob
    c) store that file in new permanent table as clob
    d) commit (hence delete temp table rows as they are no longer necessary)
    to test it i have:
    CREATE OR REPLACE procedure daz_html
    as
    begin
    htp.p(' <FORM enctype="multipart/form-data" action="daz_fu" method="POST">');
    htp.p(' <p>');
    htp.p(' File to upload: <INPUT type="file" name="p_file_in"><br>');
    htp.p(' <p><INPUT type="submit">');
    htp.p(' </form>');
    htp.p('</body>');
    htp.p('</html>');
    end;
    CREATE OR REPLACE procedure daz_fu (
    p_file_in varchar2
    as
    -- BLOB Stream locator
    v_raw blob;
    v_clob clob;
    v_blob_length number;
    v_length number;
    v_buffer varchar2(32767);
    v_pos number := 1;
    begin
    -- Get xml document from transient 9iAs data store.
    select blob_content
    into v_raw
    from spg_file_import
    where name = p_file_in;
    -- create temp LOB
    dbms_lob.createtemporary(v_clob, false);
    -- get BLOB length
    v_blob_length := dbms_lob.getlength(v_raw);
    loop
    -- get length to read. this is set as a max length of 32767
    v_length := least((v_blob_length - (v_pos-1)),32767);
    -- assign BLOB to a varchar2 buffer in preparation to convert to CLOB
    v_buffer := utl_raw.cast_to_varchar2(dbms_lob.substr(v_raw, v_length, v_pos));
    -- now write out to the CLOB
    dbms_lob.writeappend(v_clob, v_length, v_buffer);
    -- increment our position.
    v_pos := v_pos + v_length;
    -- exit when we are done.
    exit when v_pos >= v_blob_length;
    end loop;
    commit;
    htp.p('commit done!');
    end;
    now if i upload a small text file (about 5kb) it works with no problem.
    however if I upload a large text file (say about 1Mb) it crashes oracle with:

  • MS SQL Server 2014: Error inserting into Temp table with index and identity field

    In this thread, I mentioned a problem with SQL Server 2014:
    SQL Server 2014: Bug with IDENTITY INSERT ON
    The question was answered, it is a bug. To keep you informed on this issue, I open this discussion.
    Problem:
    The code below works perfectly fine on MS SQL Server 2008 R2 and MS SQL Server 2012, but gives an error every second time the proc is executed on MS SQL Server 2014. If I do not define any index on the temp table, the problem disappears. Defining the index
    after the insert, does not help.
    SET NOCOUNT ON
    GO
    IF EXISTS (SELECT 1 FROM sys.procedures WHERE name = 'usp_Test') DROP PROC dbo.usp_Test;
    GO

    PRINT 'Second execution of the proc, the insert fails.';
    PRINT 'Removing the index #IDX_Dest causes the error to disappear.';
    EXEC dbo.usp_Test;

    I remember few issues with scan2ident function, I am not sure if they have fixed it however it appears that this is intoduced to SQL 2014 and we need help from MS to get this resolved as it needs code analysis.
    It is not getting simulated for other versions of SQL apart from SQL 2014.
    Also to add, interestingly, the value of rax is not visibly changed and it was successfully passed on to rcx, which has a valid value, so something should have changed the value of rax inside call to function using call qword ptr [r10+50h], and looking at this
    it appears that it might be a list of functions and we are going at particular offset [50h]. So, bottom line is that the call to function qword ptr [r10+50h], should be changing something in rax, and debugging/analyzing this code might give us some more idea.

  • Insert into temp table with sorting not works

    Hi,
    Am inserting some of the values into temp table . Before going to insert i will be sorting a cloumn in descending order and then i will try insert. But actually inserts in ascending order.Dont know why.
    Please find the code
    Create table #TempTable( column1 smalldateTime )
    Insert into #TempTable
    Select distinct(column1) from table1 where cloumn2 = 1 order by  column1 desc
    When i query the table
    select * from  #TempTable
    shows the dates are in ascending order instead it should in descending
    But when i query this Select distinct(column1) from table1 where cloumn2 = 1 order by  column1 desc
    dates are in descending order which means recent dates fills top

    Or use a CTE = Common Table Expression:
    CREATE TABLE #test (id int);
    INSERT INTO #test
    SELECT object_id
    FROM sys.objects;
    SELECT COUNT(*)
    FROM #test;
    GO
    ;WITH cte AS
    (SELECT Top 2 *
    FROM #test
    ORDER BY id desc)
    DELETE FROM cte;
    GO
    SELECT COUNT(*)
    FROM #test;
    GO
    DROP TABLE #test;

  • Error for datawindow get data from temp table with SP

    I create a SP to produce results. In this SP, results recorded in a temp table #mytemp. The final sql in this sp is like:
    select * from #mytemp
    Then I create datawindow to display data from this sp and got following error:
    Number 277 Select Error: there was a transactin active when exiting the stored procedure 'myproc'. The temporary table '#mytemp' was dropped in this transaction either explicitly or implicitly. This transaction has been aborted to prevent database corruption.
    How to resolve this problem?

    Sorry but could not reproduce the problem with the following products:
    PB 12.5.2 build 5652
    ASE client 15.7 EBF22688
    ASE server 15.7 EBF 19496
    Tested with ASE and SYC database profiles
    // Profile ASE
    SQLCA.DBMS = "ASE Adaptive Server Enterprise"
    SQLCA.Database = "repro"
    SQLCA.LogPass = <**********>
    SQLCA.ServerName = ""
    SQLCA.LogId = "sa"
    SQLCA.AutoCommit = False

    SQLCA.ServerName = "xxxxxxxx"
    SQLCA.LogId = "sa"
    SQLCA.AutoCommit = False
    SQLCA.DBParm = "Release='15'"
    Below is the source of my stored procedure.
    Prior to run the script, execute a data pipeline to create ASA tables (EAS Demo DB V12.5) department and employees into your ASE server

  • Help how to create full set of nested table with given xml schema?

    Hi everyone, I am new to oracle and programming language. Recently I was asked to create nested table with given a complex xml schema. I knew that after the registration of xsd file, oracle will generate few tables( including nested table) and types for the users. But it seems to be not complete set of tables. Can anyone please help me with the problem. Really thanks a lot on the help given. I would like to give extra explanation if what I have given above is not clear enough. Thanks

    How about posting the XML Schema, the code you used to register it, the database version you are using and the list of nested tables that were generated...

  • Update temp table with alias

    I have query like this:
    SELECT o1.q_sum, c.q_sum FROM CTE1 c INNER JOIN #order o1 ON o1.col1=c1.col1
    It works. I get c.q_sum different from null for every row, while o1.q_sum is null.
    But if I write like this:
    UPDATE o1 SET o1.q_sum=c.q_sum FROM CTE1 c INNER JOIN #order o1 ON o1.col1=c1.col1
    id doesn't work. The all columns q_sum from temp table are still null. How is that possible?

    Do not need alias for columns
    create table #t (c int)
    insert into #t values (1)
    update o set c =2 from #t o  ---works just fine
    create table #t1 (c int)
    insert into #t1 values (2)
    update o set c =#t1.c from #t o join #t1 on o.c=#t1.c  ---works just fine

  • Dynamic table with strange XML

    Probably I should write my problem before, instead of asking "part-questions".<br /><br />I have an XML like this:<br /><Root><br />  <Elem1 value="ss"><br />  <Elem2 value="ss2"><br />  <ElemInTable1 value="s" index="0"><br />  <ElemInTable2 value="s" index="0"><br />  <ElemInTable1 value="s" index="1"><br />  <ElemInTable2 value="s" index="1"><br /></Root><br /><br />Explanation: <br />Elements: <br />a) ElemX are normal fields. <br />b) ElemInTableX are elements which represent a table. All elements with the same attribute index are in the same row.<br /><br />I am trying to create a form which will allow me to have an dynamic table (adding and deleting rows), which will fill both attributes ('value' and 'index'). <br />I am out of ideas who to bind fields to textfields, or how to "repair" XML with javascript. Still something does not work correctly.

    Hello,<br />you have to change your XML to smth like this:<br /><br /><?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1"?><br /><root>          <br />  <Elem1 value="ss"/> <br />  <Elem2 value="ss2"/> <br />  <table1><br />     <ElemInTable1 value="s" index="0"/> <br />     <ElemInTable1 value="s" index="1"/> <br />  </table1>     <br />  <br />  <table2><br />  <ElemInTable2 value="s" index="0"/>   <br />  <ElemInTable2 value="s" index="1"/> <br /></table2><br />     <br /></root><br /><br />and make this file as source for DataConnection.<br /><br />After that you will be able to bind tables and add instances.

  • SQL Server 2014 Bug - with Clustered Index On Temp Table with Identity Column

    Hi,
    Here's a stored procedure.  (It could be shorter, but this will show the problem.)
              CREATE PROCEDURE dbo.SGTEST_TBD_20141030 AS
              IF OBJECT_ID('TempDB..#Temp') IS NOT NULL
                 DROP TABLE #Temp
              CREATE TABLE #Temp
               Col1        INT NULL
              ,Col2        INT IDENTITY NOT NULL
              ,Col3        INT NOT NULL
              CREATE CLUSTERED INDEX ix_cl ON #Temp(Col2)
              SET IDENTITY_INSERT #Temp ON;
              RAISERROR('Preparing to INSERT INTO #Temp...',0,1) WITH NOWAIT;
              INSERT INTO #Temp (Col1, Col2, Col3)
              SELECT 1,2,3
              RAISERROR('Insert Success!!!',0,1) WITH NOWAIT;
              SET IDENTITY_INSERT #Temp OFF;
    In SQL Server 2014, If I execute this (EXEC dbo.SGTEST_TBD_20141030)   It works.   If I execute it a second time - It fails hard with:
            Msg 0, Level 11, State 0, Line 0
            A severe error occurred on the current command.  The results, if any, should be discarded.
            Msg 0, Level 20, State 0, Line 0
            A severe error occurred on the current command.  The results, if any, should be discarded.
    In SQL Server 2012, I can execute it over and over, with no problem.  I've discovered two work-a-rounds:
    1) Add "WITH RECOMPILE" to the SP CREATE/ALTER statement, or
    2) Declare the cluster index in the TABLE CREATE statement, e.g. ",UNIQUE CLUSTERED (COL2)"
    This second option only works though, if the column is unique.    I've opted for the "WITH RECOMPILE" for now.  But, thought I should share.

    Hi,
    I did not get any error Message:
             CREATE TABLE #Temp

  • Writing to a temp table in a stored procedure with dynamic sql

    Hi
    I am writing into a temp table with dynamic sql:
    select coloum_name into #temp_table from
    +
    @DestinationDBName+'.information_schema.tables
    and then I am trying to use #temp_table in the procedure:
    select coloum_name into #anotherTable from #temp_table
    but I am getting an error that #temp_table is not recognized.
    Can a temp table not be used in dynamic sql ?
    How can I overcome this problem ?

    Temp Table Can used easily in Dynamic Query in SQL Server and here is small Exmaple you can check it and do like it
    CREATE PROC test
    AS
    BEGIN
    CREATE TABLE #T1
    (ID  int , NAME Nvarchar(50))
    CREATE TABLE #T2
    (ID  int , NAME Nvarchar(50))
    DECLARE @SQL NVARCHAR(MAX)='Insert into #T1
    SELECT database_id , Name FROM Sys.Databases
    Insert into #T2 Select ID , Name from  #T1 '
    EXEC SP_ExecuteSQL @SQL
    SELECT * FROM #T2
    DROP TABLE #T1
    DROP TABLE #T2
    END
    Exec Test

  • Populate table with XML returned by a Web Service

    Hi,
    I have a web service that executes MulitipleRowQuiery and returns XML
    variable.
    When I set the data connection (in Designer) to this service in my
    PDF form I'm getting "document" and "element" nodes under the
    invokeResponce tree (data view palette).
    How can I use this parameters in order to traverse the XML that was
    returned by the WS?
    What I need is to populate a table with this XML data..
    Thanks, Rbuz.

    You can use the XDP as is ...it is just this forum that will not accept XDP format. I have already made th erequest to get it changed and we are waiting for the next software update.
    There are two sets of bindings for every object on a form. DataBindings allow you to import XML and bind the nodes to the fields and Execute bindings which are used with Web Services. I used your sample XML file as an input for data bindings and got it to work the way you want by using [*] in the binding instructions to indicate that more than one node was present there. This is not possible in the Execute bindings. You can only have a one to one relationship. So I do not think you can do it the way you want.
    Can you get the WS to return you the entire XML as a single parameter? If so then you could bind that parm to a hidden field, then load all of the XML into the DataDom and use Data Bindings that do support what you are trying to do. I have included a sample that shows the table being filled the way you want using data binding.
    You shoudl contact support and get an enhancement logged to get the WS bindings to act the same way.
    Hope that helps
