could any body update me what is the main difference between table and template in smartforms.

Table exteds dynamically.
Template is fixed in size.
template is Output of a table containing static data
these are the Possible direct successors-All except window, page, table,
and template nodes
Table - Output of a table containing application
data and these are the Possible direct successors-as with template node
Template is used for proper allignment of data which table is used for displaying multiple data.
We can say Template is for static data and Table is for dynamic data.
Suppose we have a requirement in which we have to allign the customer address in such a way as shown below:-
Name- Krishna Company- WIPRO Location- Chennai
Desig- S/W Native - Mumbai
Then for proper allighnment we can create a template and split that into 3 columns and 2 rows and create text elements for each cell display a proper allighned data at the output.
When we include a template inside a loop it gives the same property as a table.
When we have mutiple data which is to be extended to the next page like when we display all employee details in a company we use table.
Table has 3 sections , HEADER, ITEM ,FOOTER
The header secntion will be executed once and it will loop at the item level. at the end footer will be executed.

DW Template and table jump from page to page
Hi,
I have put together a rather quick, basic site for a friend
in need (meaning=bare bones here to get it started faster). It's
template-based and table-based.
The site is generally working okay except that the content in
terms of the tables jumps slightly to the left or to the right
during navigation between pages. It all hangs together, but it
shifts slightly, so I know something is out of line.
The navigation is done with Fireworks CS3, so there may be
something wrong with how my slices are set up. I've tweaked them a
bit and made them better, but everything still shifts between
pages.
I appreciate any help or assistance anyone could offer.

How to create a PDF with substituted key-value and table-values using a template language
I have about 50 key-values and 10 table-values that I want to substitute into a formatted report template (language can be anything standard, would create a small number of these templates) and then use an Adobe tool to substitute the values into the template and produce a PDF. Preferably the template language would permit some basic conditional logic (if <key #> has value <value> then <show key label here> and <key value here> in close spatial proximity on the form) and permit embedding of a static graphic logo, text with fonts/styles, etc. to produce a polished report but also handle pagination (e.g. enable page breaks or numbering) to be handled automatically.
What is a recommended template language and product to accomplish this?Are you thinking of something like a blank form that you can enter information into, save, and send to another user? If so, what you want is possible. If you want more information, post again and include more details about how you want to use it and how the recipient will use it.

SPLIT the cell in either template or table horizontally

Hope you all doing well,
Can any body let me know how to split the cell in eithe template or table horizontally,
what i mean to say in detail is that i have created three cells using two lines types, which it gave be 3 boxes , now i want to split only third box alone in to two parts with an horizantal line not by vertical line.
*Please note note , i dont want to split the cell vertically , i want to split it to horizontally.*

Eg :
Total Width -
120 MM.
Then Create first template with following measurements.
Width 80 CM
Horizontal Alignment left 0.50 MM
Vertical Alignment
Here u can mention Height width of the cells
Next create another template.
Width 40 CM
Horizontal Alignment left 85 MM
Vertical Alignment
here also u can mention the height and width for two line types.(this for split the box horizontally) -

1) I work on a Mac and use Dreamweaver 8. Often I like to
embed Flash objects into a page and I do this by using
Dreamweaver's INSERT > MEDIA > FLASH. However, the SWF file
doesn't show up on the published web page and I’ve never had
this issue using previous versions, so I’m not sure what to
do? Here's what Dreamweaver generates when I use their INSERT
feature:

It seems a bit weird that the SWF file is not showing
considering Flash & Dreamweaver are the most compatible apps,
no? I’m assuming if Dreamweaver is generating this code it
should work, no?

It works. Most likely you have not uploaded the Scripts
folder referenced
in the head of the page.

WAD - How to Minimize the Space Between Drop-Down Box and Table
Hi all,
I am trying to display a query in 'Table' with Web Application Designer (WAD). First, I have placed the 'Drop-down box' web-item and 'Table' web-item below it in the Web Template. There is an half-inch of space between the 'Drop-down box' and the 'Table' when it displays on the browser. It doesn't look good with this gap.
How can I eliminate or minimize this gap, PLEASE ?.

Thanks a lot for your help. Now it reduced the gap between the drop-down box and table to 3mm on browser.
But, there is no gap on web template. If we change some settings, we could still further reduce the gap while displaying it on browser.

I'm trying to print onto mailing labels, but it won't line up correctly. It looks right on the template and the 1st row even prints correctly. The text keeps moving down a line on each row of labels, so the rest of it will not print correctly.
There are several ways you can go about this.
1. Most labels come with Word templates or downloadable Word templates. Simply open those in Pages.
2. Make a table with extra cells for the thin spaces between the labels and skinny those down to match the spaces. ie You have big fat cells for the actually labels and thin narrow empty ones for the gaps.
3. Make a floating Text box the size of one label, format with dummy text just the way you like it.
+Menu > Format > Advanced > Define as Placeholder text+
You can now drag and drop snippets of text, the addresses etc onto those and it will replace them matching the style of the existing text.
You duplicate that text box into position of the other labels by clicking on it with the command kety held down, then drag copy it up or across with the option and shift keys held down. Fine tune the positions with:
+Inspector > Metrics > Position+

QPLD Template and Report Question
I have learned that after creating a Query, I choose a Template (original or a user edited one) and create a Report. Then if I Click on the Report, I can now print or preview. To my surprise I also clicked on the Template and then Printed/Preview and I also obtained a result and this was unexpected. What is the Template running, is it the same as the Report? If yes, why do we need the Report?
I find the QPLD a bit confusing despite the training I have done. Any tips how to improve my understanding of this facility?

This Question is a bit different from my previous points but it relates to my attempt to create a Label layout. so the position now is a s follows. Taken the various tips I have received, I was able to create a modified Template with my Address details in the Repetitive Area0 of the Template. I was surprised to see that I can print out all the records from the B/P table by clicking once on the Template and then go to print. This printed out correctly the Records but without taking into account the full Query.
Next I tried to print out the Report which was created on the basis of the correct template but this did not work and I am getting an INTERNAL ERROR message. I cannot see why and therefore i am trying to understand the difference between the two ways of printing.
I have noticed that in the Report Layout some fileds are Duplicated both in the repetitive Area0 and repetitive Area1. I also see that the Report Layout contains some added Fileds that contain the Query.

I'm working on creating a template file, and the page is
going to be used by some authors who will just be entering some
text in a table. So i thought using the template>Repeating table
option might be good to try.
All went well until I noticed that after they enter a couple
rows of text, and they want to sort the table. If they go to
Commands>Sort Table. you get an error
'Sort Table command cannot be applied to this table'..
Is there no way to sort a table that uses the repeating table
template option?I guess not. Never occurred to me to even try that....

I'm running through a weirg problem here. I've designed my webpage and everything worked fine in chrome , firefox and explorer 8. So I saved it as a template and created a basic page with it (normal html/css here, very simple). The probleme is that now, everything is messed up but only in explorer (page not centered, big empty space added somewhere). And then, when I remove the editable regions markers ( <!-- TemplateBeginEditable name="head" --> <!-- TemplateEndEditable --> ...) and save it back as a normal html page without templates, it is working fine again.
Can someone help me please?
