TES 5.3.1 sacmd modrule -J " class name " returns invalid job class argument

The docs indicate modrule should work as follows but it returns invalid job class argument.  The class "My Class" is defined and job alias is correct.   Here is the cmd syntax I used.:
sacmd modrule -a myjobalias -J "My Class"
I would like help to understand why class args is invalid.  Appreciate the help.
I wish I could get more verbose output to see what its doing which leads to my second question, anyone know how to get verbose output?

I have some pretty extensive experience with CMD line...you need quotes when you have values with spaces. This is true of MODRULE and other CMD line Commands
SA>modrule -i 56034 -J JC with Space
Error: invalid job class argument
SA>modrule -i 56034 -J 'JC with Space'
Error: invalid job class argument
SA>modrule -i 56034 -J "JC with Space"
Request sent to Master.
you do not need quotes when  value does not have quotes (on most commands)
modrule example using alias and jobid
SA>modrule -a 56034A -J Tidal
Request sent to Master.
SA>modrule -i 56034 -J Tidal
Request sent to Master.

  • Hyphens not allowed for class names (was:naming conventions, class names, Dreamweaver CC)

    I just downloaded and started working with Dreamweaver CC. On inserting a div I have found that the program won't let me use hyphens in class names. Why not? As far as I can tell there is no protocol which says you can't use hyphens. I have been working with a jquery plug-in that uses hyphens extensively. What am I supposed to do? Changing all the class names in the accompanying css and script does not sound like the right way to go--especially since I tried it and it doesn't work...

    Hi LarkinAngel,
    This is a know issue and we already have a bug to track the same.
    We are palnning to fix the same in the next Update we release for DWCC.
    Apologies for the inconvenience.

  • How to access a method of a class which just known class name as String

    Hi,
    Now I have several class and I want to access the method of these class. But what I have is a String which contain the complete name of the class.
    For example, I have two class name class1and class2, there are method getValue in each class. Now I have a String containing one class name of these two class. I want to access the method and get the return value.
    How could I do?
    With Class.forName().newInstance I can get a Object. but it doesn't help to access and execute the method I want .
    Could anybody help me?
    Thanks

    Or, if Class1 and Class2 have a common parent class or interface (and they should if you're handling them the same way in the same codepath)...Class c = Class.forName("ClassName");
    Object o = c.newInstance(); // assumes there's a public no-arg constructor
    ParentClassOrInterface pcoi = (ParentClassOrInterface)o;
    Something result = pcoi.someMethod(); Or, if you're on 5.0, I think generics let you do it this way: Class<ParentClassOrInterface> c = Class.forName("ClassName");
    // or maybe
    Class<C extends ParentClassOrInterface> c = Class.forName("ClassName");
    ParentClassOrInterface pcoi = c.newInstance();
    Something result = pcoi.someMethod();

  • How can I find the servlet class name from inside a ServletFilter?

    Ive implemented a servlet filter, but need to discover the class name of any servlet class that gets executed.
    Ive dug through the spec and cant seem to find any path to do this.
    Seems the methods needed to do this have been deprecated. (for security reasons?)
    Is there any way to write a ServletFilter to grab this info?
    If not, is there any other way to capture every servlet execution in the container, time its execution, and log the class name along with the execution time?
    (***WITHOUT*** requiring a classpath over ride of any container provider classes)
    Any help is much appreciated. Been banging my head against this for some time now :(

    request.getServletPath() returns the part of the URL which refers to the servlet. It isn't the classname of the servlet but it should be a reasonable surrogate. If you log that, then you could write some code which reads your web.xml and uses the servlet-mapping elements to convert it to servlet class names later.

  • Is it possible to get the main class name in a Thread context ?

    for example, i want to get the main class name (the first entry of the program).
    public class Test implements Runnable {
         public Test() {}
         public static void main(String[] args) {
              new Thread(new Test()).start();
         public void run() {
              try {
                   //Want to get the main class name (not the current class name)
                   throw new Throwable();
              } catch (Throwable e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
    }

    Acutally, i wanna make clear about the concept of a "Thread"
    Is it true that ..
    the main() method is a thread , once I create another thread in the program , both of (or all of them) will contains it owns stack exception information ?
    My english is poor, please try to understand it. Thx

  • Background callable object :  can not find this class name

    Hi All ,
                  I am following this tutorial link for creating background callable object
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/9a/e8934258a5ca6ae10000000a155106/frameset.htm
    I have created java and enterprise application DC and deployed successfully. But while creating CO in design time when i am selecting application and entering class as com.examples.bckgco.UserDetailsCallableObject  for Implementation Class Name , and on click next i m getting exception as  "can not find this class name".       package and class name are correct still getting this excetpion message. Plz help me to resolve this solution.
    Regards
    Kavita

    Hi, kavita.
    First, make sure you choosed the correct container when you created the background CO.
    Second, make sure your package name was "com.examples.bckgco" and class name was "UserDetailsCallableObject". The exception  which you got just means you entered incorrect name.
    It doesn`t relate to your program.
    Best Regards.

  • How does one call a class if  one gets the class name from a database?

    Hi,
    I'm writing an application that needs to handle different types of input file.
    Each type of input file will be handled by a different processing class.
    I plan to use a controller class that will read from a database rows that each contain a file name and processor class name such that the class can then be used to process that file:
    So on a table somewhere I might have relationships like:
    file1.csv , ProcessorClassA
    file2.csv , ProcessorClassB
    file3.csv , ProcessorClassB
    My hope is that if I need a new processor class, I will not have to change the controller class. I simply write the new class say, ProcessorClassC and put an entry in my table for:
    file4.csv , ProcessorClassC
    So, finally, the question...
    I can read in the new class name into a string but how can I employ that class or instantiate objects of that new class and use their methods.
    The rationale is that so that the controller class needs no further modifications no matter how many new processor classes are required.
    Any ideas anyone?

    A factory class? I'm all ears... or is that another

I have deleted the app from my Fire and re-downloaded it but have the same error comes up. I have accessed the Words with Friends support both on my phone and their website but there is no live chat. Verizon will not be able to help you retrieve any of the information you need.  You will have to contact Zynga.

    However,when i am runnig my ADF page in the Filed called "PHOTO" I can only see a junk character stating 'yoyo'.

    Hi,
    did you show the id-value in the user interface as a input-component, and did the input-component include a converter?
    If yes, show the id as output-text and remove any existing converter-components.

The data is retrieved from the database and displayed correctly but when any field is changed and submitted the above error occurs. I have just used the drag and drop technique to create the ADF form with a submit button, am I missing a step?
    I am using the production release of Jdeveloper11G

    Reproduced and filed bug# 7487124
    The workaround is to add a custom converter class to your ViewController project like this
    package oow2008.view;
    import javax.faces.application.FacesMessage;
    import javax.faces.component.UIComponent;
    import javax.faces.context.FacesContext;
    import javax.faces.convert.Converter;
    import javax.faces.convert.ConverterException;
    import oracle.jbo.domain.ClobDomain;
    import oracle.jbo.domain.DataCreationException;
    public class ClobConverter implements Converter {
         public Object getAsObject(FacesContext facesContext,
                                   UIComponent uIComponent,
                                   String string) {
           try {
             return string != null ? new ClobDomain(string) : null;
           } catch (DataCreationException dce) {
             dce.setAppendCodes(false);
             FacesMessage fm =
               new FacesMessage(FacesMessage.SEVERITY_ERROR,
                                "Invalid Clob Value",
                                dce.getMessage());
             throw new ConverterException(fm);
         public String getAsString(FacesContext facesContext,
                                   UIComponent uIComponent,
                                   Object object) {
           return object != null ?
                  object.toString() :
                  null;
    }then to register the converter in faces-config.xml like this
    <faces-config version="1.2" xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee">
      <application>
        <default-render-kit-id>oracle.adf.rich</default-render-kit-id>
      </application>
      <converter>
        <converter-id>clobConverter</converter-id>
        <converter-class>oow2008.view.ClobConverter</converter-class>
      </converter>
    </faces-config>then reference this converter in the field for the ClobDomain value like this
              <af:inputText value="#{bindings.Description.inputValue}"
                            label="#{bindings.Description.hints.label}"
                            required="#{bindings.Description.hints.mandatory}"
                            columns="40"
                            maximumLength="#{bindings.Description.hints.precision}"
                            shortDesc="#{bindings.Description.hints.tooltip}"
                            wrap="soft" rows="10">
                <f:validator binding="#{bindings.Description.validator}"/>
                <f:converter converterId="clobConverter"/>

  • How can i get all java class names from a package using reflection?

    hi,
    can i get all classes name from a package using reflection or any other way?
    If possible plz give the code with example.

    You can't, because the package doesn't have to be on the local machine. It could be ANYWHERE.
    For example, via a URLClassLoader (ie from the internet) I could load a class called:
    com.paperstack.NobodyExpectsTheSpanishInquisitionI haven't written it yet. But I might tomorrow. How are you going to determine if that class is in the package?
    This subject comes up a lot. If you want to do something a bit like what you're asking for (but not quite) there are plenty of threads on the subject. Use google and/or the forum search facility to find them.
    But the answer to your question, as you asked it, is "you can't do that".
