Hy guru's, i have this problem: on Test of Web Dynpro Event Handling page i tried to open the GeoMap web dynpro on Business Graphics section but i received this error:

Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher or Firefox 1.0 or higher, will work
Mine is Internet Explorer 6.0, sp2 working fine.
No Support for '_' in Host Names
The browser does not accept cookies if a host name contains the underscore character '_'.
Since Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 and MS Internet Explorer 5.5 including security patch MS01-055 cannot accept any domain names with underscore characters, session cookies cannot be saved. This will result in terminations when navigating within a Web application.

I am getting below Warning message.
The Web Dynpro component assignment for business partner is missing.
As per my investigation found below.
Since address formats are different for each country, you can define in the Customizing activity Assign Web Dynpro Components to Country-Specific Address Formats under SPRO --> Logistics Execution --> Dealer Portal which Web Dynpro component you want the system to use for displaying end customer addresses.
BUT do NOT understand the name of WebDynpro Component to provide.
What are the entries or WebDynpro component names to fill in below?

Modification of ABAP Web DynPro iViews delivered via Business Packages

Hello Everyone,
If this has been answered before, I apologize.
Is there any 'supported' way ( or 'unsupported' ) to modify the out of the box ABAP WebDynPro iViews which are delivered via some of the new Business Packages for ECC 6.0?
For example, I want to hide some fields on the 'Create Order' iView delivered in the Business Package for Internal Sale Representative..

These Business Packages are just iView definitions that point to normal Web Dynpro ABAP components/applications that reside on the backend ABAP system. They can be enhnaced like any other WDA application.

Tracking ABAP web dynpro events in back end SAP

Is there any way to capture the events on th ABAP web dynpro in the backend.
The scenario is that i have some particular code which gets executed in the back end when User clicks on any button or tab in the appraisal document , which is ABAP web dynpro application.
I want this code to be executed only when User clicks on particular TAB/BUTTON on the ABAP web dynpro.
Are there any system tables that I can check.I am novice in ABAP Web dynpro.

Web Dynpro Error Handling

Hi all,
i have an exception handling problem in web dynpro. For my app (WEB AS 6.40 SP 15) i need an exception handler to catch all exceptions before the overall errorpage is shown (because there you cannot log, clean up resources and show an individual error messages to the user).
In case of such an exception handler i don´t have spread try/catch blocks all over the WD code to catch exceptions the app cannot recover from.
Does anyone has a suggestion whether a hook or something else exists in web dynpro (e.g. something like the error page mapping in a servlet container?)

that is exactly what i´m looking for
If you are building a desktop-app e.g. based on swing, you can use ThreadGruop.uncaughtException to handle ALL exceptions before the thread is closed by the VM.
If you are using a Servletcontainer you can configure an error-page which is mapped to a special exception e.g. Throwable. This error-page can be implemented as a normal servlet so you can do ALL of your necessary error handling there.
These are two ways to clean up resources and do some last logging in case an error occures the app cannot recover from.
Is there anything comparable in WebDynpro?

I have (SAP EHP 2 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0) trial version installed in my laptop. Lately, I took course NET310 about web dynpro. I started doing the exercises but when I test my work, the browser (Internet Explorer 8) does not display the page I created but it displays a page has the following message (Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage). When I installed the SAP, one of the requirements was (Domain), so I entered one but the one I entered does not exist. If this is the issue, then I have to create a domain with the same name but how can I do this in my laptop? (my laptop has Windows 7)

Web Dynpro - Event Message Profile

EM Gurus.
I have 40 Events (Internal Event Codes) defined in SPRO Web Interface | Define User Profiles | Event Message Profile | Event Reporting Items. These Events can be triggered from R/3 or Manually in EM.
When I use Web Interface /SAPTRX/EM_START. the 40 events are displayed horizontally across the 'Display Details' Screen.
The screen is very wide and requires a lot of left/right scrolling to see the information.
When I use the Web Interface Classic /SAPTRX/WCL_SEARCH, the 40 events are automatically sorted into columns and rows
and the horizontal scroll is disabled. This makes the scrolling more user friendly.
Is it possible to control the layout of the browser? I guess this could be done via abap or via browser settings? Maybe using a different browser (i.e. instead of MS Internet Explorer) will help?

Emulators for testing mobile web dynpro

I am developing mobile web dynpro applications and need emulators to run them. Can anyone suggest the URLs to download the emulators (Pocket PC, BlackBerry, and Nokia series 80). As I do not have the real device to test the applications, I need the emulators badly to test the applications.

sorry i am not using BlackBerry,only Windows mobile.
There i only have to enter the URL of the WD-Application into the Device Browser of the simulator.

Additional blank browser window appears when testing a Web Dynpro app.

When I run a Web Dynpro Application, I always get a second blank browser window opening at the same time as the application. This is not happening for everyone here though. I guess it's a browser setting but I haven't been able to track it down and it's very annoying having this thing pop up every time.
Any idea how I can get rid of it?

Hi Enrique,
suspend and resume plugs don't work on Portal, this is done by Portal Navigation. You can suspend the application by setting the Suspensibility property, but not use the plugs. Skills Profile - Enhance Web DynPro to handle Effective Date

We are working with the ESS BP on ECC 6.0 and have a requirement to enter an Effectivity Date for the start of a qualification. The trouble is that the existing function for updating the qualification profile (XSS_SKL_APPLY_QUALI_PROFILE) does not allow for a beginning date to be passed in. Instead it uses the current date (Sy-Datum) which is set on initialization of the SkillsApplication (via FM XSS_SKL_INITIALIZE_DATA). I have tried to enhance the structure for the qualification profile (structure RHXSS_SKL_EMPLOYEE) but it is marked as Can Not be Enhanced by SAP.
Does anyone have any thoughts on a good way to add this functionality? I'd hate to throw away all of SAP's work with the SkillsApplication and write one from scratch just for this small change, but it's looking like that might be my only option.

The following describes the changes required for adding the effectivity date to the Standard Skills Profile Web Dynpro Java screen.
ABAP Changes
1. Get modification keys for hte following structures and change the enhancement category of the strucures to "Can Be Enhanced Deep".
     RHXSS_SKL_EMPLOYEE
     RHXSS_SKL_PROF_UPD
     RHXSS_SKL_QUALIPROFILE
2. Add appends to each of the structures in step 1 for feidl ZEFFDATE

I have seen this (DD_ADD_FORM_INPUT) but i dont need a Form.
What i want to do is: Double Click Event handling on the input field in the custom control.

Hi Mohi,
OK, you could reduce DD_ADD_FORM_INPUT to what you really need - but the DD elements (rarely if ever used in standard SAP) do not have a double-click event. Must stick to ENTER.
An alternative is a text_edit or an editable grid_control with one line one field.
The problem is: There is no way to put any selection-screen element on a control.
I's go for the grid approach as you certainly may have some more fields of interest.

Testing ABAP Web dynpro: Error code 403 and for the reason Forbidden

We have NW04s Installed and trying to execute a SAP supplied ABAP web dynpro application DEMO_SIMPLE_MAIN. Please see the following error and let us know which service it's talking about? I am familiar with SICF. However in AS7.0( New name for WEB AS ) The transaction is little different.

this was actually some services which needed to be started through SICF. Once I have started the service sap/bc/public ETC.. and the web dynpro started working. Most of the SAP delivered demo apps are working
However for some ABAP web dynpro ( for some application XRPM ) I get some peculiar error. Please see below and if you could think of anything out of these.

Business Graphics, intermixing chart types

Hi to all,
Has anyone tried to intermix chart types? Specifically, i'm trying to display a "column" type chart, but I would like to have a straight horizontal line through the chart indicating a key value or values. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
