Testing in a local browser

I am a Web Designer and I use Dreamweaver cs4 as my design tool. Recently I encountered a problem I have never experienced before. In testing my web pages locally using iexpore 11 the strangest thing happens.
The first page I put up locally renders perfectly. But when I use a navigation button to test other pages of the same site each page comes up with a white background and verbiage only. All design elements are missing. I have tested nearly all of my clients site and experience the same problem.

I have never had this issue before and I have searched everywhere for a way to correct this problem. I hope you can help me solve this.

Thank you for the quick response. I have not put any files on the remote server since this problem stared so I cannot answer the question. I feel I need to correct this issue locally before attempting to FTP files to my server. I should have added that the whole sites render perfectly in Google Chrome when I test locally in that browser. The whole issue seems to be only when I use Microsoft iexplore and iexplore 11. Q: General : Can workshop test form display a browse icon for file input?

Is it possible to write a web service which takes in say a license file for validation
and returns a boolean true if
valid and false if not valid? Can the workshop test form display a browse icon so
that I can select the license file
from my local system? Or do I have to write an html/jsp front-end to the web service
myself?

Cannot test website on local server

I have one website that I suddenly cannot test on my local
server while
in Dreamweaver. Other sites work fine. I checked the
application
settings and I don't see a problem. Anyone have any clues??

Not without some information. What are your site definitions?
What server
model? Is the local server IIS? Apache? Something else? What
error
messages are you getting? Could this be a permissions
problem? You said
"suddenly" .. what if anything changed in your configuration?

Without a link, it's anybody's guess.
It could be a problem the video rendering itself. Which software did you use?
Did you export to the 3 file types -- MP4, OGG and WEBM to support all browsers?
Does your web server support those 3 MIME file types?

If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one.

SAP ME 6.0 Visual Test and Repair Local file not found

In our SAP ME 5.2 environment we have Test & Repair installed on a separate server. On that server we also have a shared directory where we are placing our GenCad files (.CAD). These files we can sucessfully view in the POD on SAP ME 5.2.
Now I am trying out SAP ME 6.0. I have done:
- Installed Product Visualization 7.2 on my client device
- In System Rule maintenance I have set the rule VTR Model Location to point to our server where our GENCAD files are stored.
i.e ServerXXX
- In material maintenance for manufactured material A I have set the drawing name to point to the shared directory and .CAD file.
i.e D:/CADfiles/productname.CAD
- Created and released a shop order for material A
- Started the "POD - Visual test and Repair"
Entered operation
Entered Resource
Entered SFC for the shop order that is using the manufactured material with
Pressed "Start" - The SFC is now active in the operation.
Pressed "Model viewer" button
A part of the screen now says "Visual test and Repair" - 3D Model viewer. It is blinking a couple (3) of times, but nothing appears. When I press the "Model viewer" button once more. An error message says "Local file not found".
What is happening? Is GenCad files suddenly not working in Test and Repair? I have read something about purchasing ECAD file converters, is this what I need?

Issues with test-all role and browser security

WLS 10.3.5
I have a deployed application on Linux using a SQLAuthentication and Authorization - all is well here.
I have setup all the security (without the test-all role) and I cannot access any of the system.
If I put the test-all role in - I can access the system.
I have verified the user has all the roles (I used the example bean to display the user and roles on the menu page) and the test-all role is not in the list.
I have the menu setup to not display items unless the user has the role (this is working fine - SecurityContext.inRole(rolelist).
So the context is fine.
I used jazn-data to set the same roles in the taskflows - this is not working at all unless the test-all role is set - I get authorization errors - not authorized).
Have I missed something in this?
I have also noticed that if I close the browser (X) without logging out and come back into the system the authentication is totally bypassed and I go back in as the same user as before.
Is there some way to destroy the previous context every time the welcome screen is executed.

Add the following parameters to the Run options for the ViewController project:
-Djps.auth.debug=true -Djps.auth.debug.verbose=true
Then restart WebLogic, run the app and watch the console - you'll see all the security evaluations take place which should help you to identify the problem.

How to test my ADF mobile browser application on Android emulator?

I have created a Mobile Browser Application. Could anyone please tell me how to test it on Android emulator?
I read the information about downloading and configuring simulators(Blackberry) and emulators(Microsoft Windows) for ADF Mobile browser in "Running Mobile Device Simulators with ADF Mobile and JDeveloper". However they didn't mention details about downloading and configuring "*Android Emulators*". Could anyone please help me in this.

Hi,
thought you want to test a mobile BROWSER application on android emulator you have to use android JDK like mentioned by codigoadf.
I guess also that the configuration (create virtual android device, ...) will be the same.
You have to use the same URL for your application than on your PC but replace 127.0.0.1 by 10.0.2.2 (In case your WLS runs on the same machine as the android emulator)

Applet not running in local browser

I can run any applet from web.
I can run any applet in appletviewer.
But I can not run applets in browser from local html file.
I can not run even the demos that came with de SDK 1.4.1_01.
Can anyone give me some hint?
Maybe is very obvious but I ca not see it.

Testing applets within a browser

We are testing an applet within a web browser. As soon as the app opens, it will ask the user to enter user name and pwd in a pop-up window. The openScript hasn't recorded the user inputs while record.

Hum it reminds me a problem I had with a Forms authentication which was NOT supported by OpenScript... Long time ago though.
First, I guess it's a load test script. Maybe you could tell us what the authentication is. Someone should know. It could then help to solve the problem. I have an example yesterday where we had to manually add the auth in the OpenScript script

Coded UI test fails to close browser due to window title

Hi. I am using Visual Studio 2012.
At the end of my test, I wish to close the browser (IE), but I am having issues because my application version is displayed in the Tab of the browser and this changes with every build. When the test runs, the application cannot find the window because
of the Title. Is there a way to ignore the title and close the browser?

Since the coded UI tests use the search properties to find a control/window, so the real issue is that it couldn't find the control when your search property is dynamic. So one possible way, you could use other unique property as the search property.

How to set up a local testing server with local-only access

Hi folks,
I've reached the point where I need to do some simple server-side scripting in my Dreamweaver work. I work remotely pretty often, so I want to be able to preview my work without having to go back and forth to the production server. It seems to me the solution would be to install a little web server on my laptop, BUT I'm concerned about security. Is there any way I can set up a local webhost but not make it accessible to the outside world?
I'm really pretty clueless about this stuff, so I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks!

I would recommend using XAMPP Lite. It's very lightweight and portable when installed on a USB drive or flash stick.

MSTest not running in TFS build but tests works fine locally in visual studio
