Text field contents overlap the static text below.

hi all,
I have got a problem with the size of a text field in my form. In the form, below the text field, i have got a static text. The height of the text field varies dynamically depending on the size of the string coming from the backend.
Now, as the size of the text field increases, its text is overlapping the static text below. i dont wat this to happen. how can i dynamically change the position of the static text depending on the size of the text field above.

Email Submit: Field Contents as the Subject of the Email?

Hi All,
I've built a .pdf form using Live Cycle Designer. I want the user to be able to press a button on the form to send the form (as a .pdf attachment) to a predetermined email address and cc.
In addition, the subject of the email should be a concatenation of a) predetermined text that will remain static, and b) the contents of a field on the form (entitled "Project").
Lastly, I'd love to have a predetermined message body automatically applied to each such email.
I'm able to have the user press the button which sends the saved form as a pdf attachment to a predetermined address.
I'm NOT able, however, to achieve the following:
a) I don't know how to get it to cc the predetermined email address.
b) I don't know how to get field contents into the subject of email, nor concantanate the field contents and the static text.
c) Don't know how to set forth a predetermined message body.
I don't know anything about javascript or xml.
Can you help?

Save a field content to the DB (customization)

Helllo,
I have a requirement to add a textarea to an existing page and save its content to the DB.
I am familiar with customizing/changing the query where-clause in the CO and personalizing pages. But didn't work on a scenario that involves saving (insert) new form fields to DB.
Can anyone provide me directions on how to do so?

Is the page you are customizing a create page
are the fields in this page have a VO and do you need to insert the new data into the table refering to the same VO ?
if the new fields data needs to be inserted in the same VO (EO based ) (same base table on which the EO is referring to)
then just create a new field using personalization and set the view attribute as appropriate, no coding is required in this case

How to make text fields grow dynamically without overlapping the text below it?

Hi..I'm a newbie to Adobe Livecycle and I need a create a form that has a textfield that should grow dynamically and expand without overlapping the text below it. I tried using subforms, saving as Dyanmic PDF, checking expand to fit option but nothing seem to work! I really need help designing this form.

When you are using an object-oriented language, it is helpful if you consider what objects are responsible for what actions. Loose descriptions lead to confusion.

Highlighting TEXT - not the field - and clearing the set value for a new one

I have a form in which various text fields are set with a message to inform the user as to what kind of information I want typed in. My goals are:
1. Have the text get highlighted so when the user starts typing, the "old" value gets replaced with the "new"
2. Or, when the user tabs or clicks in the field all of the "old" value is deleted and they can start typing the "new" value from the beginning of the field.
I am trying to eliminate having to manually highlight the field in order to type in the needed information. But each field needs to start with a value so the user knows what kind of information I am looking for.
Does this make sense? By the way, I have no JavaScript experience...uh oh!

Hello Apple.
It seems you have gone to great lengths to improve accessibility in many areas of the iPad. Why was this obvious problem with icon text size missed? (It's not with the Mac.). And for so long too.
Do you employ people with actual accessibility problems to help you do UI design?
I think too, that some buttons are too close for people who might have motor control problems.
I love my iPad but I fear as I age, the iPad might not keep up with me.

The 'help' manual describes the 'required' function as this: Required Forces the user to fill in the selected form field. If the user attempts to submit the form while a required field is blank, an error message appears and the empty required form field is highlighted.
My users ARE not submitting the form, they open the pdf, fill it out and print it. HOW can I, make a field "required', I don't want them to skip/leave blank specific fields. However, if I choose the box 'required' in the text field properties, and I begin filling out the form, I can just tab past that field that I've choose as 'required', and I do not get
prompt/error message or anything, it allows me to save, or print.
I WANT SOME TYPE OF message (similar to enter a company order form
off the web, where you can't continue without filling out 'required' fields).
Is there a step/option I am not doing?

Then you are going to have to write some JavaScirpt to be executed by the "Will Print" document action to check all the requried fields, either by name or by the 'required' property and handle the issue of the imcomplete fields. You will not be able to stop the print, but you could display and error field so the user knows the form is incomplete and the printed form also conatains this information.

How to align text below the menu with text in the menu?

I'm trying to design a law firm site with a menu with text below it that is centered with the text in the menu. So, under "ABOUT" in the menu, there is "Meet our Attorneys". I can't get the 2 text boxes to center. When it looks centered, it moves when its FTP uploaded. Here's the site:

Can one copy a text layer's content to the clipboard?

I have searched for this but have been unsuccessful in doing so...I want to be able to either;
a: copy the contents of a text layer to the clipboard so that when saving a file I can simply paste and save or...
b: save a file by the contents in a text layer.
My sole purpose is to make it so I don't have to type the name of a document that is created through data sets. What I have seen so far is that through scripting one cannot copy these things to the clipboard. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you and I hope that I have been thorough enough.

You should be able to set up the data set so that the contents of the layer is the data set name. Then you can use File-Export-Data Sets as Files and have it save the files with the data set name.

It is not clear what you want to do.
a. Are you able to double click the template to open it in the program's Titler?
b. Can you select the present text with the Selection Tool to move it to custom locations?
c. Can you edit the existing text in the template?
The following uses the Aquarium lower 3rd template...where do you want to write text in the template?

I am using answers and I want to use the static text view
Now I want to make my own table.
I was thinking somthing like this:

Where @1 is the first column on my answer report.
Unfortunately this isn't working.
I can't find anything in the manual about this.
I know @1 works for the ticker view, so thought it must work on the static view as well

Yes... I know..."Once again that damn question!". But, that
means that if I have an application (for whatever reason) that
needs to change (during its using) the labels of ...let's say 150
buttons, DO I NEED TO HAVE 150 TEXT CAST MEMBERS!!!??? It is not
possible to have only ONE cast member and X numbers of sprites that
can have independent text contents?

No. The sprite displays the text that is in it's member. If
you need to
have multiple places with different bits of text in them,
then you need
to have different members. If you change the member's text,
then that
change will be automatically be propagated to all the sprites
that use
that member.
The command is:
sprite(x).member.text="some text goes here"
That will put "some text goes here" into every sprite that
shares the
same member as sprite(x).
