Text is Printing as icons in ALV

Hi,
I have a simple ALV output that contains 4 fields.  One of those fiekds is Plant (werks).
When I run the program and produce the ALV in the foreground, the plant appears correctly...1001, for example.
When I print the report on a printer, the 1001 converts to a pair of eyeglasses and a green checkmark.
Same thing happens when I run the job in the background and look at the report in the spool.
The other fields on the report are all fine...just the plant appears this way.
Has anyone ever experienced this and have any idea what the reason is?
Hope that made sense...thanks for your help.
Andy

Fabio,
Thank you for the reply.  I did the consistency check (shift-rt click(2x)).
It is showing an X in the icon column for the WERKS field.  How do I remove that?
Thanks,
Andy

Try running this program and then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor.  Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read.

  • Icon and text together in one column in alv list

    Hello Everyone,
I want to display icon and text together in one column in ALV list.
I am using reuse_alv_grid_display function module.
Currently, i am able to see icon only in the column but i want to see both icon and text in one column in ALV.
Please let me know if this scenario is possible in ALV and how.
    Thanks in advance.

  • How to print some data in alv which is not in table.

    hi all,
Please can any one tell me how to print some text in the existing alv program to the second line of every record.
the header is there but it is empty. In the data,
there are two lines printing for a normal alv.the same text should be  printed in every second line of each record. Please reply soon.its urgent.

This is not possible in ALV.
When you say some text I assume the text is not in the same columnar format as the list is.
ALV supports only a columnar format (except for subtotals).
You can add the text to the ITAB by parsing the text to the record. It is not going to look good if you do that.

  • How to add Icons to ALV Reprt?

    Hi,
I need to display icons (red, yellow) in my ALV Report in the first column in my report.
In my field catalog fieldcat-icon = 'X' has been taken into consideration, but still I am not able to see in my report. In the final internal table that is to display I created a field for this Icon type ICON_D. Is this the correct procedure to work with or else kindly let me know how to proceed?
    Regards,
    Raghu Ram.

This is the code that has been incorporated in order to display Icon in the ALV Report.

  • Some text is printing as boxes

I am trying to print a document that has text box comments in it.  When I print a hard copy to our Konica Minolta C652 printer, some of the text boxes print out with the individual characters as boxes.  The document is 5 pages and we are printing 2-sided.  When I print an individual page that has the problematic text on it, the text prints out correctly.
We have used the text boxes to comment in multple documents.  This is the first time we have had a problem.  Does anyone have any thoughts as to what may be causing this printing problem or a possible solution?  Do you think it may be an isolated incident and the document has become corrupt at some point?
Thank you in advance for any assistance you may be able to provide.

    Fabio,
Thank you for the reply.  I did the consistency check (shift-rt click(2x)).
It is showing an X in the icon column for the WERKS field.  How do I remove that?
    Thanks,
    Andy

  • Print Screen Data Containing ALV

    Hi,
I Have a application where in a screen I have a Text Box below which is an ALV. Now I have a custom button named PRINT.  When we press the print it should sent a print to the local printer containing the text box and ALV data in it. So it should like as it was in the screen. Knowing that menu bar and ALV has the standard print option, but the client requirement asks for this.
Please throw some input on this.
    Regards,
    Jagath.

    Hi,
Try handling this using the events. for the UCOMM for the button print, code the same functionality as in the standard tool bar PRINT button.

  • How to Install 64-bit "Generic / Text Only" print driver on a 32-bit Windows 2003 Server?

    Hi All,
In a nutshell, I need to Install the 64-bit Generic / Text Only print driver on a 32-bit Windows 2003 Server’s “Generic / Text Only 32-bit print queue.
The problem is that there is no Driver-Disk to get the drivers. I’ve been able to isolate 14 files related to the 64 bit drivers from a Windows 7 x64 computer and copy them to a temp folder on the Windows 2003 x32 server. When I try to add the 64 bit driver
to the Windows 2003 x32 server,  it wants a *.inf file, which I don’t have and can’t find.
Because Microsoft will no longer support Windows XP, my client is replacing all of their Point-of-Sale Windows XP x32 systems with Windows 7 x64. They use Terminal Services (Remote Desktop) to connect to a Windows 2003 x32 server to use the POS system. The
POS software redirects LPT1 back to the local Generic / Text Only printer. This works great for XP x32.
When we use the Terminal Services POS software on the new Windows 7 x64 system, none of the labels print out because it’s redirected in 32-bit back to the local Windows 7 x64 Generic / Text Only 64-bit printer.
This will be a huge issue for me if I can’t get this to work.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions and help! -Rob

  • How to display multple line text in a single cell in ALV?

    Hi all,
I have 'Material Detailed Description' field in my ALV report, and it's taken from a multiple line text table. Is there any way so I can get this whole text to fit in a single ALV cell (not in single, but multiple line, as in original text data)?
    Thank you.

    Hi
If you want you can display this long text field in ALV but the allignment of the ALV not looks good. so generally we won't display them in the output,
instead, in the interactive list write the code to call that MM03 transaction, and the user can see that text in the transaction when ever double clicked on that MATERIAL field.

  • How can i use text only instead of text plus the folder icon in the bookmarks toolbar; older firefox allowed this.

I prefer using text only instead of text plus a folder icon in the bookmarks toolbar because it used less space and I can display more bookmark folders in that toolbar. Is that possible in Firefox 4.0? It was possible in the earlier versions of Firefox. If it is possible in Firefox 4.0 how do I do that? Thank you.

First install the "Stylish:" extension then you have thousands of styles available to choose from, most consist of only a few lines, and you can modify them to suit yourself.

  • Looking for HP printer App/Icon to save on desktop

Hi - I am presently using Windows 8.1 operating system. In a previous version of Windows, I had installed a HP app/icon for printing photos and saved it on my desktop screen, the app looked like a picture of a "small HP printer" and it was very convenient when I wanted to print single photos on photo paper. After selecting my options on that printer app such as choosing a 2x3 or 4x6 size etc., I could select a photo and drag it to the printer app and it would automatically send a request to my printer to  print that size photo. Now that I've  installed the later version of Windows - (8.1), that printer app has disappeared from my desktop and I can't find out where to download it again. I do have a program installed called "HP Photo Creations" but that program only shows options to select 4x6 or 5x7 sizes etc., it does not give me the option to print a single 2x3 size photo. Anyone know where I could possibly download that small HP printer app/icon? I hope it's still available and can work on Windows 8.1, it really was soooo convenient.
    This question was solved.

    Hi @jank,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums.  I understand that you are wondering if an app you used to have is still available for Windows 8.1.
The app you mention in your post predates my time with HP and I had to do some digging around.  I was able to find out that at one time an app similar to the one you mentioned did exist, but no one I worked with was able to remember the name of it or how it worked.  It appears that it is no longer available.
