Text Not Rendering, But No Idea Why

I have a sequence that I am rendering to quicktime. I've tried every possible little thing I know how -- which admittedly isn't that much, I'm a relatively new user -- and the the quicktime file will include everything but the text. Might anyone be able to give me a suggestion to try and solve this?

Make sure you haven't turned the layer into a "guide layer"?

    Seeing it in context and in our browsers is much easier to debug.
    If not, make sure to run the validator here The W3C Markup Validation Service and clear out any problems. HTML errors, especially structural ones, will cause all kinds of display problems in various browsers/versions/platforms.

  • [SOLVED] Some text not rendering in Gnome after update

    After a recent update some text is not rendering in Gnome. For example, look at the url bar of chromium in this screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/A2Qyw.png
    Here's a "screenshot" of some text not rendering in gnome-terminal:
    $ echo -e "I like pizza\nI like pizza\nI like pizza"
    ...blank line...
    ...blank line...
    ...blank line...
    ...blank line...
    It basically renders my desktop environment worthless. I don't see anything suspicious in /var/lob/Xorg.0.log. Here are some of the packages I've updated recently:

    Any ideas what's going on here? Thanks!

  • Rollover text not rendering correctly in Safari 7.x

    Safari 7.x and my blog (NotNecessarilyPretty.com) are not getting along.
    Specifically, the rollover text in the post titles (see attached or visit site) is not rendering correctly. The right edge of the text does not change to the correct color. Have been in contact with Apple as well as the theme's developer, but have yet to be offered of a fix.
    This blog displays correctly when accessed via Chrome or Firefox, and prior to Mavericks, Safari evidenced no problem.
    Thoughts on how to correct this?
    Thanks!

    The original screenshot didn't show here, so for anyone else reading, who may well know much more about CSS & Safari than I :
    changes to this - note the right edge

  • Some text not rendered

    Hi.
    I seem to have some sort of font problem. Some text on certain website doesn't seem to render proberly. This behaviour is only present with webkit browsers (dwb, luakit, surf, midori, jumanji) and not with firefox or chromium. I can't be sure when this bug was introduced, but I'm pretty certain it was a while ago. A recent update is probably not the problem here.
    The text is not rendered when you first visit a site where the bug occurs, but whill render if you mark the whitespace where the text should be with you mouse. I'll post two images to show you what I mean.
    How it looks:

    After marking the text:

    I'm having the fonts ttf-dejavu and ttf-liberation installed and their paths added to xorg.conf. Nothing else has been done to the font configuration.
    Simon

    I'll probably file a bug report later tonight (although we're in different time zones so that probably doesn't make much sense to you). I'll just compile the latest nightly first, just to make sure that it wasn't just fixed a couple of days ago.
    EDIT: Here's the bug report: https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105132.

  • Audio not rendered - but when I tell FCE to render it, nothing happens

    When I pull in some DV files, FCE shows my audio as not rendered, with that red line. So I tell it to render it, and nothing happens. I get a very brief flash of the rendering progress bar, the red line disappears, but the audio remains unrendered because when you play it you get silence (I have turned off the annoying "beeping").
    Even if I save the project, or quit and restart, or tell FCE to render everything, my audio remains stubbornly unrendered.
    Any suggestions?

    Hey, I had the same thing happen to me. I'm not sure if this is the best answer, but in order to get it to render, i had to select the audio in the timeline and in the menu, i select Render Only --> Needs Render. That worked for me. Hopefully that will solve your problem too. Good luck!

  • HT3529 My wife and I both have an iphone.   We initially created it under her apple id.   We will receive each others text messages from certain people not all.   Any ideas why and what we can do to stop it

    My wife and I both have an iphone.  We initially set them up under one apple id account.  When we text sometimes we will receive each others text messages from others.   Example I will text a friend...she will not see my text but the reply comes to both of us.  It seems to be random which ones.  Any ideas how to correct this

    Yup, get your own AppleID.
    The messages that are being sent to both phones are technically not text, they are Apple's iMessage. They use the data part, not the texting part. So if you have an iPad or a Mac computer, you can send/receive the iMessages there too.

  • When I open a pages doc why does the text not show but the preview in Finder shows the text?

    Doc shows a blank page but shows the number of pages at the bottom and flickers the text when I click on Outline icon.

    In most cases it is because you have not updated Pages to the current version.

  • Our web based application allows links to external documents like word- these links work in IE but not in Firefox- any idea why?

    the protocal that works in IE is
    P:\My Documents\2010 Workshops\Nashville Brazeway\Nashville_Workshop_2010.docx
    This drive is shared and opens in IE but Firefox gives msg
    Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (p) isn't associated with any program.

    You need to use the file:// protocol, but you may still encounter problems if you fix that.

  • CSS Issues , HTML text not rendering properly

    I've loaded and parsed some xhtml in my DataManager class that is validated against the W3C strict dtd.I'm pushing certian bits of this into public arrays in my DataManager. My ContentManager, calls to the DataManager, and is returned a corresponding data set ,  instantiates a new GenericSection , and passes in the array as an argument in the constructor.
    var targetData : Array = new Array();
    targetData = DataManager.getInstance().returnAboutData();
    var targ : String = targetData[0].toString();
    var targFormat : String = targ.slice( ( targ.indexOf( '">' , 0 ) + 2 ) , ( targ.lastIndexOf( '/p>' , 0 ) - 3 ) );
    var newSection : GenericContent = new GenericContent( targFormat );
    newSection.publicId = ind;
    contentContainer.addChild( newSection );
    The output of formatTarg is :
    The purpose of this site is to serve as an online portfolio and work reference. I am a 28 year old WEB/INTERACTIVE developer who has worked in the Los Angeles and Greater Orlando areas since 2004. I specialize in
      <span class="bulletText">ADOBE FLASH</span>
      <span class="bulletText">FLASH ANIMATION</span>
      <span class="bulletText">ACTIONSCRIPT 2.0/3.0</span>
      , and
      <span class="bulletText">ACTIONSCRIPT PROJECTS IN FLEX</span>
      . The client links listed above will provide several examples of media that I developed for the web. Please select the ACTIVE TEXT to the right of the PROJECT LINK heading in each section , if available ,  to view the site.
    My GenericContent class i linked to a movieclip in the library , with one dynamic textfield, with the following settings :
    instanceName : sectionText;
    anti-aliasing : for readability;
    embed : uppercase , lowercase , numerals , and puncutation
    behavior : muliline
    render as html : selected( true );
    sectionText is declared as a public var in the GenericContent instance.
    I have tried applying styles as such :
    private var css                    :            StyleSheet;
    private var cssDeclarations            :            String;
    css = new StyleSheet();
    var bulletText : Object = new Object();
    bulletText .fontSize = 20;
    bulletText .fontWeight = "bold";
    bulletText .color = "#336699";
    bulletText .leading = 12;
    css.setStyle( ".bulletText ", bulletText  );
    sectionText.wordWrap = true;
    sectionText.embedFonts = true;
    sectionText.styleSheet = css;
    sectionText.htmlText = contentText;
    and
    css = new StyleSheet();
    cssDeclarations = ".bulletText{font-size:12px;color:#FFFF00"};
    css.parseCSS(cssDeclarations);
    sectionText.wordWrap = true;
    sectionText.embedFonts = true;
    sectionText.styleSheet = css;
    sectionText.htmlText = contentText;
    The html is not being rendered properly , the tags themselves do not show up , but no style is being applied. Any ideas , or perhaps a better approach ? thanks !

    Upon further investigation i figured out what was wrong.
    This property :
    bulletText .fontWeight = "bold";
    was causing my text to not render because bold character weren't used within the symbol associated with the class. By removing that and cleaning up the code a bit ,
    var span : Object = new Object();
    span.fontSize = 12;
    span.color = "#336699";
    css = new StyleSheet();
    css.setStyle( ".bulletText", span );
    sectionText.styleSheet = css;
    sectionText.htmlText = contentText;
    it rendered semi correctly , except with erronious line breaks , the solution for that was to , remove any instances of "/n" from the contentText string before setting the sectionText , done like this :
    var pattern : RegExp = /\n/g;
    contentText = contentText.replace( pattern , "" );
    now it looks great !

  • Text not showing in Flash IDE

    This suddenly happened today. Same problem throughout all my project files and Flash versions (CS5.5 and 6). I am using classic text fields. Doesn't matter they're static/dynamic, embedded, or different anti-alias options. They just show a text field with nothing in it, even though there is text in it. Text shows when I change font to Arial (device font?).
    Fonts list in the IDE reflect what I have in my Fonts folder but most don't of them don't show anything. I've also tried removing and reinstalling the fonts. It was fine yesterday. Only difference today was a Windows update. Help!
    *edit
    I've done more testing, seems like any new fonts I've added after Windows installation are not working
    Flash CS5.5 + CS6
    Windows 7 Home 64-bit

    Same here, just today; even though it only happens for me with a specific font family and when using antialiased text. If using device fonts or bitmap text, the text appears; but changing to any antialias, makes the text disappear
    Tried uninstalling this font family and reinstalling it, with no success. A couple of things happened in my PC in last 24 hr, one update for Windows 7 64b (security & cumulative) and updates from Adobe (don't remember which applications were updated, but Flash was not one of them), so which one to blame?
    Also, if I change the textField type to TLF Text, it will show the text, and when selecting antialias for animation, it asks to embed it; however, if I don't, it will show anyway; but embedding it, won't show it for non TLF textFields; but changing all the text fields to TLF is a route I won't take, I'd prefer changing the font to something similar
    Also, the compiled SWF won't show the text for those fields with no text

  • Punjabi text not rendering correctly in TLFTextField instance?

    I'm experiencing rendering issues with a SWF file using a runtime generated instance of the TLFTextField class (Flash CS5 or CS5.5), specifically with Punjabi and only on Mac OS browsers. The text displays as control characters (or outlined rectangles), and not in Punjabi. However, if I make an authortime instance of TLFTextField in a FLA, copy and paste Punjabi text into the field on the stage, and publish it with an embedded font like Arial Unicode MS, Punjabi displays just fine. If I try to use the same embedded font on a runtime instance, I still get the weird characters. Even weirder, if I leave the authortime instance on the stage, and then create a runtime instance of TLFTextField, the text shows just fine in both fields! What's happening with the authortime instance that I can not get to happen with the runtime instance?
    Many thanks in advance for any suggestions.
    -Robert

    Perhaps I should just make a post that says, "Has anyone used TLF to render Punjabai text"? Would that be suitable for a post in this forum? Alan, I know how I can continue to debug the issue further using either native FTE methods as well as TLF containers directly instead of the shell that I'm using to create them. So far, I've found that this is a Mac specific issue (Windows is fine), and that my only workaround is to specify a TextLayoutFormat instance using a fontFamily value of "Gurmukhi MT". This font seems to only be available on the Mac OS X install disc in the Optional Installs folder (I had it installed by default, but my Canadian government clients did not). If I specify the following properties for a TextLayoutFormat instance, it will display:
    textFormat.fontFamily = "Gurmukhi MT";
    textFormat.fontWeight = FontWeight.NORMAL;
    textFormat.fontLookup = FontLookup.DEVICE;
    textFormat.renderingMode = RenderingMode.CFF;
    I was hoping I could get it to work in an embedded fashion, but my research also indicates the Mac OS has a different lookup table for Punjabi glyphs than Windows OS.
    I only have so much time left in this project to find a solution, and I might just go with this approach for now. Hopefully, other users who need to render Punjabi / Devanagari characters can utilize some of what I've said here as a solution.

  • Title "shifts" up in frame after it's been rendered. Any idea why?

    Hi,
    I'm pressed against a deadline (aren't we all?) and need help fast.
    A designer created lower third titles in Photoshop and saved them as .psd files.
    Imported them into FCP and they work fine. When I key them over footage, they work fine and key in real time. I applied a cross dissolve to fade them up and out, and they look fine. I color corrected the footage that the titles are keyed over and suddenly the cross dissolve needs to be rendered. No big deal, except that after I render it I begin having problems.
    The type fades in and once the transition is finished, the type shifts up in the frame. CLICK! Very noticable and very undesirable.
    I've tried fading the titles using opacity in the Motion tab and it does the same thing.
    Does anyone have any idea this is happening and how to make it stop?
    Thank you!
    Dual 1 GHz PowerPC G4, 2 GB RAM   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   FCP 5.1

    This is indeed a solution. Thank you for your help!
    The .psd files include a "background" and "type" layers, so when they're imported, they create sequences. I've changed the settings on those sequences so that the field dominance is "none" and that solves it. It now means having to render them but I'll take it if they quit shifting.
    The field dominance was already "lower" and so I just tried taking the fields out of the equation altogether, which since it's being derived from a still frame, kind of makes sense.
    Thanks again,
    Jay
    Ahhh - reckon I've got it.
    It's jumping up because fcp has misinterpreted the
    field.
    You will have to take the titles out of the tl ie.
    delete them.
    Now scroll across in the browser to field settings
    and make all the titles lower by rt clicking the
    field and choosing from the drop down.
    Or select the titles in the browser>rt click
    em>formatand alter there for each.
    Now reposition them back into the tl.
    Adjust and render.

    Why are my keys sticking and not responding? No moisture has come near the laptop.

    Andy-
    When printing, the printer should be visible if it is an AirPrint printer, connected by WiFi or to a WiFi router via Ethernet (NOT USB), and the WiFi router is capable of correctly handling Bonjour data required by AirPrint.
    To determine if your printer is capable of AirPrint, see <AirPrint-enabled printers>.  Even if it is on that list, it may be necessary to update the printer's firmware before AirPrint will work.
    It may be possible to change the setup or update the firmware of a WiFi router that does not work with AirPrint.  Contact the router's manufacturer for info, if that is the problem.
    Search the iTunes App store for iPad printing Apps from your printer manufacturer.  There are other printing Apps such as Print n Share, but these are not as convenient or as easy to use as AirPrint.
    It is also possible to share your computer's printer as AirPrint over WiFi.  One program that does this is Printopia for Macintosh.  For a free solution, search the web for AirPrint Activator.  Versions are available for both PC and Mac computers.
