Thank you Verizon for providing update for ATIV SE.

Very much appreciated.

Thank You.  I don't know what else to say, but thank you.  Patience is a virtue, and we both had it.  Or should i say, have it.  Rule the Air.  I appreciate the most excellent service I have received.  It hasn't been perfect, but it has been successful.  That means you are important to me, and I get a clue that you actually value me.  I appreciate that.  Thank you for the excellent service, and making me feel valued.

  • Thank you all for the responses. By process of elimination, I think the problem is the connection to the express in between the extreme and dock. I bought another express and tried it at dock, no luck, I then replaced new express where the one is between

I have an airport extreme and express setup. My extreme is in my 2nd floor office with windows facing the water. My dock is about 250 ft away down a very steep hill. I have the express about 100 ft down the hill in an electrical waterproof box attached to a tree as high as I could install. The signal is weak and I'm thinking I might have to buy another express. Any thoughts on the best setup for me. I ultimately want to control speakers(hard wired in) down at the dock with my iphone. I have a receiver coming with airplay built in.
Thank you all for the responses. By process of elimination, I think the problem is the connection to the express in between the extreme and dock. I bought another express and tried it at dock, no luck, I then replaced new express where the one is between extreme and dock, no better. I unplugged the express between extreme and dock and there was no difference. So I believe I am connecting to the airport express or extreme that is inside the house. Again because when i approach express that is halfway I reconnect. so if you can understand my chaos, I believe the express in between is not really connecting to the extreme inside my house. Yes, No? So I need to know how to know if the express half way down the hill is getting the connection from the the extreme in the house. This is wearing me out!!!!!

You are asking several different questions. If you need to store your photos, music, and movies on an external volume, you certainly can. Any externally connected hard disk drive will work, connected either directly to your Mac or to your Time Capsule as a shared volume.
You should not rely upon using that as a backup device though. Although you certainly may use it for both purposes, it is a better idea to have dedicated backup devices for a variety of reasons not limited to redundancy. You would not want to simultaneously lose all your pictures as well as your backup. If they are all on the same device, that could happen. Furthermore, a backup cannot back up the volume on which it is running.
As for adding an Extreme or Express, using its LAN port for your iMac, and then enable Internet sharing so you can effectively use the iMac as a "hotspot", you can do that too, but I am unclear on what benefit you believe this arrangement would convey for you.
An Extreme's Guest network is separate from its Main network; that is the reason for having it.

  • Thank you verizon wireless

My daughter started taking the bus this year so I had to get her a cell phone.  I added her to my plan and, when they asked me if I wanted insurance for her phone, I said no.   Since she was only going to use it one day a week and I wanted her to understand the responsibility of taking care of her own things.  The customer rep who was handling the transaction even commented on how that was a good way to teach her to care for her phone.
This was in February of this year.
This weekend I went to the same Verizon location to see if I couldn't get a replacement for my old Pre plus which has been giving me fits of late (keyboard issues, random restarting).  The guy pulls up my account and tells me I don't have insurance.  Says I cancelled it in February.
He cannot locate anything that would indicate that I declined the insurance.  He suggests I call customer service.
I go to the location near my office to see if they can, at the very least, see where I declined the insurance since I do my personal verizon visits in that location.
Nothing but he did notice that the day I cancelled mine, I added a line and insured that phone.
That's right, they cancelled my insurance and added insurance on my daughter's phone.
So, since February, I've been paying $7 to insure a phone that was used, at most, one day a week, until the end of May.  Then it went into a cabinet in the kitchen, where it has remained, unused.
I tell the rep at Verizon that I want to cancel the insurance on my daughter's phone and I want to add insurance to my phone.
They cannot insure my phone anymore.  It's too old.
So, they cancelled my insurance against my wishes and now they won't insure my phone.
I'm told to try customer service.
    So I call customer service.
I'm told, basically, there's nothing I can do, unless I want to use my upgrade to get a new phone.  Since the pre3 is coming eventually, I certainly don't want to waste the upgrade.  I ask for a supervisor and he gets on and, after explaining the story again, he offers to let me upgrade the phone and then reset the upgrade so that I can use it again in November.  He's also letting me use some $30 discount that would trigger in November.  Very nice of him.  I thank him and he sends me back to the first rep.
The first rep runs thru some questions, asks if I want to insure the phone and so on.  Then he tells me there's a $50 rebate on the phone.  I tell him that's nice but, with the $30 discount that the supe gave me, I can't see how I will get a $50 rebate on a phone costing me $20.  He tells me the phone is $89 after the $50 rebate and the $30 discount.
The phone is $49.99 on the web.
$89 as an apology to me for their screwing up my insurance.
Not to mention I've spent $49 for insurance I didn't need or want.
    I cancelled the order.
this is the second time in 20 years as a verizon customer that I have had to call customer service.  They are now oh fer two.
The first time they made a mistake, confirming a shipment to me that wound up not going out and the phone was, then, backordered and I was told I'd have to wait a month or two for the next batch.  When I complained, I was told that the person in charge of the orders  called in sick.  When I asked how it was possible that they only have one person to handle all their orders and then followed that with a question as to how they can operate without a backup employee in case the one person responsible for all shipments calls in sick with the sniffles I was told that the employee might have died.
That's right, Verizon has used the dead employee response on me.
20 years of loyalty and they can't even give me a phone that is, in 3 months, going to be obsolete.
    Thank you verizon wireless.

I think you've illustrated an important lesson here.  You NEED to confirm any changes that are made to your account as soon as possible.  I like to log in to MyVerizon then next day to be sure that all of the features are correctly set up.  Had you noticed this during the billing cycle the problem occured, it would have been an easy fix.
Have you looked into getting a Pre+ from another source?  I remember there being quite a few Palm phones running around on the third-party market not too long ago (possibly from a Verizon overstock?) so it may be possible to get a phone in good shape for a very reasonable price on eBay, Craigslist, or even just a third-party retailer.  That should tide you over until your next upgrade.

  • Thank you Verizon

I've been a Verizon Wireless customer for 13 years. I got a postcard in the mail the other day saying that I can now upgrade my phone. I went to do it and they won't let me keep my unlimited  data plan. Currently I use my phone as my only internet and that is how I justified paying for the plan I already have. I love Verizon and the service they have given me but there comes a point where enough is enough. I started doing some research and realized that contract free is the way to go. I crunched the numbers and realized that with the money I will save my canceling Verizon I can afford WiFi, a Tablet, a home phone, and a Net10 Smartphone with unlimited text, talk, and data. So thank you Verizon, I'm counting down the days till my contract is up and looking forward to my new ipad. Comcast is excited to get my business and is willing to work with me and I haven't even been a 13 year return customer with them.

    Wifi :costs
    Home phone: costs
    ipad: costs
Home internet: costs (of course wifi is included)
Where, exactly, are you saving, and can you break it down for us? This would make your post more...credible. And great news, you can keep unlimited data, you just have to pay full price for the phone, which is cheaper than said ipad...comcast activation, new net10 smartphone, and home phone combined.....

  • TS5376 I did all of the above because the update wouldn't install now I am unable to re install iTunes  it gives me a thank you message for installing ITunes  but nothing is there. Can you help

I am unable to reinstall ITunes after following all directions about the update program.  I keep getting a thank you message as if it downloaded and nothing is there
    Any suggestions ?

Try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:

If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

  • Thank You Adobe for Fixing Bridge

Wow, that was a very long. painful and frustrating wait to get a version of Bridge that works again. Bridge CS3 was the worst piece of Adobe software that I have used since 94 or 95, Bridge CS4 now actually works again, hooray! Thank you Adobe!
    mark

    >Don't be absurd, Omke. It's not a free fix for CS3 users. Bridge 2.x was horribly broken and it should have been fixed for free, period.
Well Ramón, I put a smiley in that post...
But serious, I also (as you have done before) have written many times that Bridge was a free application that came with PSCS. Personal I did not have that horrible experience with it that you had. Yes, there were troubles every now and then but I solved them with the cache, plist and refresh method I often described.
I do suspect that the fact that I work on an intel Mac has also something to do with that. However, my experience with Bridge 3 is very positive and a massive improvement compared to Bridge 2.
Yes it would be nice if there had been an update but they have chosen to put al their effort in a new Bridge with some very nice improvements added to the interface (pathbar and better visible menu's to mention a view) and a much better (but not the best) cache management.
Together with Leopard 10.5.5 and CS4 I fully agree with Ann. The improvement of Bridge is (although it comes again for free with PS... :-) ) alone reason enough to upgrade.
    kind regards
    Omke

  • Thank you Adobe for Lightroom 4

Rarely do I take the time to comment on forums unless I have an issue, but I have to just say that Adobe made my day when I discovered the availability of Lightroom 4 (I've been a longtime user), purchased it, installed it (easily) and found to my delight the video support particularly for mts files.  I had been unable to find a suitable cataloging program for mts files and was had to resort to Picasa.  So thank you Adobe!

Indeed Lr4/PV2012 rocks! (for the vast majority of my photos).
It really is a pleasure to be able to edit tone without having to worry about stuff like:
    - Be careful brightening or it'll get washed out.
    - Be careful increasing contrast or highlights will lose detail.
    - Be careful increasing fill-light or the colors will go wonky...
Make it as bright or as dim as you want, where you want - PV2012 has your back...

  • Thank you, Adobe for the enhanced actions editor (Was: Thank you, Adobe)

Just want to thank you for the Enhanced Actions Editor... fantastic!
Months ago, I had requested to have something similar that Flash Catalyst had, and you delivered.

    Hi Eddie,
On behalf of the product team and Adobe, I thank you for sharing your feedback on the new feature. We are glad that you liked it and we are hoping that it will be as useful to our other users too.
    Have a nice day!

  • Thank you message for user (ganeshmb)

Thank you so much!.....upon reading the log trace I found the bean was not being loaded due to the fact that struts-2.1.2..jar was copied in both Tomcat's main lib folder and also in the lib folder of my struts app....so when Tomcat tried to load something that has already been loaded and it threw an exception leading to the app not being load...Thanks once again:)

  • Thank you Creative for the new Firmw

From what I read on the boards, I think EVERYONE that owns a Micro should reply to this post in thanks for cranking out a Firmware that solves the hated Battery Drain problem. I work in an atmosphere where thanks is hardly given out (being a teen, that normally happens), so, thank you, because this deserves it.
    Thank you.
Don't hurt me for having absolutely no substance other than that and wasting your time for posting this. I hope this doesn't violate any unofficial rules! If it does, sorry, but I felt this was needed.

yes, a very deserved tnx creative! so far all you have done is bring beatiful sound to my ears when i need it most
    keep up the great work!!!

  • Thank you Apple for the worst update ever! This is what I lost last night..

I lost my messages! I lost my wireless passwords! I lost all the progress in every game I had! I lost email accounts that I had to reconfigure! I lost my mind!
What I gained? A slower iPhone that can arrange folders...
I want my things back but I guess... well you know... I guess I don't deserve it. I'm just a client to make proffit. No one in Apple will ever read this.

I personally think that's a crappy response and poor assumption. Doesn't the old saying go, make an ASSumption, make an ASSoutofyourself?
I'm in the same case as the OP. I back up regularly. I keep iTunes updated. I keep Windows updated. And I did "everything right" as was instructed by Apple. Plug in. Sync. Click Update. And that's where all **** broke loose.
My download of os4 went fine. It was the update that totally wiped my data, leaving me with only ONE of my updates (from Sept 09) in tact, but still unusable, as it throws the iPhone into a continual syncing loop. It hung up on the "backup" process, and if you look through these forums, this certainly isn't an uncommon problem, and more importantly, not a FIXED problem. After about 4-5 hours of waiting for my phone to backup, I finally thought maybe it truely WAS hung up, so I tried to cancel the backup process, and since I had backed up prior to downloading, I figured it would be okay. And if that failed, I figured it wouldn't be a big deal to rollback to my last most recent backup from about a week ago. But no. I tried to backup and I got stuck in the never-ending backup loop. And then finally after Restoring and Rebooting about a dozen times, I am finally left with the realization that I have a "working" iPhone with iOS4, but absolutely NO data and NO settings. The games were the least of my concerns. I had business apps on there that I use for my freelance business. The settings of the many apps I had on there will take me DAYS to reconfigure, and that's if I remember everything easily.
    Thanks Apple.

  • Thank you Adobe for being better than useless at solving my SD 16:9 PAR Problem

I have read everything on these forums about the new PAR for SD 16:9 which is now 1050 x 576.  I have finally got a project for broadcast on SKY and guess what I can't even get a video cleared on Clearcast because it won't accept the new PAR, their server throws up an inccorect PAR error saying my video is 1:1.85 which is incorrect for their purposes.  I explained the logic to various technical guys there and they understand but don't care, they want an anamorphic SD 16:9 video that scales to 1024 x 576.  I've tried everything and have had to resort to either sending it to a post production facility and being charged not only for the rough cuts I send to Clearcast but also the final versions to Adcast for final approval for SKY or buying Sorenson Squeeze.  Premiere is useless for both purposes because they are sticking to 1050 x 576 PAR for SD 16:9. Before you try to explain that this is correct, I already know, but that isn't helping solve my problem.  This is SKY we are talking about, one of the major broadcasters and Premiere has failed to deliver.  This is going to cost me £300 - 500 to sort out.  I've used Premiere for must be getting on for 10 years, people have been complaining about this problem for ages and there are work arounds but none of them solve the final export PAR.  If I buy Sorenson, I think I might go to FCP or Avid for the first time in 10 years of editing; I finally get a broadcast job and Premiere fails me, thanks a bunch Adobe, all you have to do is offer the ability to do this whether it is right or wrong and you can't deliver on it, just take a look at your forums and you will see that this is a recurring problem, why the hell haven't you sorted it out.
If I have to pay £500 plus for Sorenson just to encode SD video I'm damn sure I'm not going to upgrade to CC on principle, time to jump ship I think, Adobe have obviously reached that size that all companies reach where they no longer care about the small guy trying to do his job.

Before you try to explain that this is correct
I'm not sure it is correct.  On the NTSC side, it's definitely not correct.  Adobe switched to the PAR used by the BBC, but those values were designed for use with the 702 pixel Clean Aperture.  That's fine with analog material, but it actually works out to be incorrect for digital signals using the full 720 raster.  This is why we get very small black bars on the sides when downscaling HD to SD, even though the SAR is identical for both.
Rather than use the correct values, Adobe switched to the incorrect values used by much of the world.
Except SKY, it would seem.  But that does mean you will have to follow the instructions provided by both Jeff and Mark in the original thread.

  • Thank You Adobe for Killing Freehand

Well Adobe you've done it...finally kiling the only
competition you had in Aldus Freehand. Yeah, Yeah, whatever
Crackromedia. Let's kill the only program that actually does things
easier and better than the postscipt gods can do it. Yes, I know
you invented the PS language, thanks for that. But....Frustrator is
kinda sickening to try to use. Instead of a few clicks, let's make
the user do 10 clicks! What a concept. If I hear "Oh, but
Illustrator users use alot more keyboard commands than the average
user, I'm gonnaPUKE!" Ok, I have to rant here. I will use FH until
they pry it from my cold dead fingers...

    > I have never seen Illustrator (used FH since the Aldus
    days), but from
    > the
    > comments here I am guessing they are not an easy
    exchange. Yes? No?
    > Adobe DID
    > say Illustrator will open FreeHand files, so at least
    there is that.
To be pragmatic, consider FH completely and utterly dead.
It's been buggy since version 8, IMHO and has just gotten
    flakier as the
OSes and Hardware has been updated while FH has just sat
    there.
I love FH. I'll keep using it, but if I were getting back
    into professional
print design (I do mainly web stuff) I'd be hunkering down
    and using AI for
clients, while trying out every possible open source and
    commercial
    alternative in the meantime. ;o)

  • Thank you Creative for wrecking my LCD Display on my Desk

I have just installed the new update to get rid of the screeching because I use 4GB of Ram. After installing the update for my soundcard I can't use the LCD Display and can't use the remote control to fire up my TV card, DVD Player or anything else that use the remote control as it is a multimedia PC.
So Thanks To Creative Labs for another botched job....
It works with the normal drivers that come with the disk, but the sound is crap as I need for 4GB for what I do for work. I think that this is the last straw now. I'm looking for a new Sound Card.

I don't deny there are issues. However a vague statement like "wrecking my LCD Display on my desktop"? That's a new one to me.
AFAIK the only way a _driver_ could wreck a monitor would be to change the refresh rate too high or resolution too high (and most monitors will recognize this and just turn themselves off.) Obviously the driver didn't "wreck" OP's LCD display because the display works when he installs the old driver.
"Wreck" is his word, not mine.
This is all assuming we're talking about his monitor, not something else....it isn't clear.
Unfortunately drivers have bugs, games have bugs, windows has bugs, graphic cards have bugs, CPU's have bugs... I could go on and on. Thats just the way it is with home computers and windows. Buy a Mac if you want _less_ issues but you still won't be safe...
    My 2 cents.
