The Acrobat Pro 9.3.0 Update seems to be the utlimate fix on my Mac . . .

My installations of Acrobat Pro 9.1 and 9.2 where way too slow and pocky on my Quad-Core Mac Pro, running Tiger.  The only solution was to re-install Acrobat Professional 9.0.0 and not install the updates.  Acrobat Professional 9.2  runs perfectly effiently on my Powerbook G4, running Tiger, though.
I recently installed the Acrobat Professional 9.3.0 update and now, Acrobat Pro runs very fast on my Mac Pro.  Acrobat Pro 9.3.0 is a good update.
Rob

I found that thread last week but I can't seem to find it now.  If your running Snow Leopard, you may be having problems that I have no experience with, since I have not moved past Tiger.  Acrobat 9 Pro was written for Tiger and Leopard.  Snow Leopard is not yet well updated and patched, at version 10.6.2, so having a brand new Mac with 10.6.2 installed can be an unpredictable experience for the short term, though most Snow Leopard users are probably having an all right experience with Adobe CS4.

  • I' m trying to install Acrobat Pro 10.1.8 Update. I'm getting the Error "Istallation fehlgeschlagen" without Error code  what can I do?

    Hi,
I' m trying to install Acrobat Pro 10.1.8 Update. I'm getting the Error "Istallation fehlgeschlagen" without Error code . What can I do? I purchased CS5.1

You can get the updates for the MAC from Adobe - Acrobat : For Macintosh, but apparently you already found that. Two possibilities that I can think of: 1. You have anti-virus enabled and that is causing the failure or 2. You are trying to install an update and skipped ones before it. If you start with the latest update, the download indicates the previous version required for the update. It looks like 10.1.12 can install over any previous version, so I would go for broke and install the latest.

  • Acrobat Pro XI won't update to 11.0.4

I'm trying to update Creative Cloud Suite Acrobat Pro XI to 11.0.4. I've tried deinstalling and reinstalling. I've tried to update from within the APP itself and it starts, but an hour later it hasn't updated. I'm on a Mac with the most recent system software.
I'm hoping that this version will take advantage of the retina display of this Mac. It seem odd to me that Mac Preview makes PDFs look so much better than viewing the same document through Acrobat.

I have the same problem. Acrobat always updates separately from Creative Cloud
CC always says Acrobat is up to date (see screenshots for 11.0.04) but then I get a prompt to update directly from Acrobat.
This seems crazy to me, inconsistent and badly implementsd. I installed Acrobat through CC but unlike the other apps it doesn't update. ????

  • Acrobat Pro XI won't update using CC desktop

I have CC for teams and Acrobat XI Pro will not update through the Creative Cloud desktop app on Macs (haven't tested Windows yet). As a test I removed all instances of Adobe from my system (apps, application support files, prefs, launch daemons, everything) and installed the latest Creative Cloud desktop application (1.7.2.419 as of 9/3/14). Logged in and installed Acrobat Pro and it installed version 11.0.0., not 11.0.7, or any previous version. Ok, so its installing an old version, kind of odd but surely the CC desktop app will know its out of date and offer an update. Nope. How about a restart... nope again. I tried this on a couple other systems and got the same results so it appears that the CC desktop app is installing out of date versions of the apps and then not recognizing they're out of date.
Is this happening for anyone else?

i installed acrobat xi cc a few days ago (on a new computer).  it just now updated from 11.0.0 to 11.0.8 (i think)

  • Acrobat Pro 9.5.1 update - extremely bizarre incompatibility with W7 x64

After updating Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended to 9.5.1., running Acrobat or printing to Adobe PDF printer crashes on every odd launch on fully up-to-date W7 x64 Enterprise. (i.e., 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th.......)
    - Repair does not help
    - Full uninstall, reinstall and updating up to the same update level (9.5.1) does not help
    - Does not occur with updates up to and including 9.5.0
    - Completely reproducible on two boxes
Setting Acrobat to Vista SP2 or lower compatibility mode does fix the issue reliably.

Please download the Acrobat Cleaner tool, and remove the Acrobat installation : http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
Now, create a new Admin account (for the testing purpose) and install Acrobat again. Update to Acrobat latest version.

  • Acrobat Pro 9.4.5 Updated, now won't launch program or open pdfs

Downloaded and updated 9.4.5 when prompted. Ran update but think there may have been a glitch. I haven't been able to launch the application or open pdf documents since. (OSX 10.6.8).
Was going to uninstall but can't find Acrobat Pro Unistall app. on my computer (Own CS5 Design Premium, and have searched and found the other application uninstallers. See attachment)
    1) Is there some sort of patch or update for this? If not, is there some sort of support where I can contact Adobe directly about this issue? (I already filed a bug report).
    2) Where can I download Acrobat Pro 9.? uninstaller? (I still have my old Mac from CS4, should I try using that???)
Upgrading to CS5.5 and or AcrobatX is not an option at this time. Please advise.

    Thanks for your response Steve.
Don't quite know what happened. I'm technically challenged. I just inserted the disks and double clicked to "install". I have two Macs, one at work and one at home. The one at home which was installed after the one at work looks correct. I am copying that and bringing my application disks to work to uninstall/reinstall.
Main question, is there a problem with Acrobat Pro 9.4.5? Do you suggest I uninstall, re-install this program?
    TIA MrsMelbyElvis

  • Acrobat Pro 9.3.2 Update problem

Hi all. I am running CS5 on my Intel mac which is on system 10.5.8. Today I have updated to the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Pro. In my work I use the "Attach for email Review..." feature alot, to send off to our clients. I am using Mail, has anyone else had the same issue with this update?

  • Can Acrobat Pro 6.0 be updated to work with Windows 7?

Hello everyone - I have software that I have been using for years.  I like it and it is really all I need.  My old computer finally crashed completely and I would like to use Acrobat Pro 6.0 on my Windows 7 machine.  Does anyone know of a way to accomplish this?
Thank you in advance for your help and suggestions.  I really do not want to spend $400.00 on new software if it can be avoided...
    All the best...
    Bustheads

I would suggest an update, but I do not think that AA6 qualifies (need at least AA7). A big question is if it is a 32 or 64-bit system? For a 32-bit system there is some hope, though you may have to deal with some work arounds. Typically, AcroTray that automates the PDF creation may not work in Win7 (it does not for the AA5 I installed on Win7). If that is the case, you will have to change the printer port to file rather than Adobe PDF. Then you will be printing to file and have to open the file in Distiller to complete the conversion. You may be able to set up a watched folder in Distiller to automate the process a bit. Whatever you do, it will be trail and error and do expect some things to not work.
So the answer is to first install it and see if Acrobat runs at all and if the Adobe PDF printer is installed. If so, then try to print. If it locks up, then try printing to file and open the file in Distiller. If that works, then my suggestions may do the job for you. I was able to get AA5 to work on my 32-bit netbook with Win7 starter this way. Not that clean, but it works. I primarily did it as an experiment, but for you it is a bit more.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 11.0.04 update failed

I clicked on the update for 11.0.04.  The update seemed to install.  When I try to launch Acrobat it keeps going into installion mode but eventually just closes.  Installed 11.0.05 with no changes to problem.  Tried to repair it but the repair does not recognize any problems.

You can try this. Not sure if this will definitly help but I hope this should:
    Delete the following preferences folders:
          a) ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/
          b) ~/Library/Caches/Acrobat/
          c) ~/Library/Caches/Acrobat/
          d) ~/Library/Preferences/Acrobat Distiller Prefs
          e) ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe/
Here ~ represents your home directory. Empty your trash, Restart the machine and then start the Acrobat.

  • Acrobat Pro 9.4.6 update took away ability to print

Not sure if anyone else is having this issue.  I am running Windows 7 platform 64 bit and recently installed the new update 9.4.6 for Acrobat Pro.  It has stopped all printing functions for PDF files.  I don't get an error and it doesn't show a print dialogue box.  Any ideas or help?

  • I'm working mostly with CS6 Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator and Acrobat Pro X. Can I update from 10.6.8 to Mavericks without any problems?

Can I update to Mavericks without any problems for CS6 Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator and Acrobat Pro X?

I can't guarantee it, but I think it's very likely you'll have no problems. Mavericks is now up to 10.9.3, and it's extremely stable.

  • Acrobat Pro 9 crashes since update to 9.5.1

I am using a dual core imac with OS 10.5.8 and 4 gigs ram. I've had no problems previously including no issues with it running on OS 10.5.8 previous to the update. The various suggestions I've read have not worked. Among the things I've tried are:
running uninstall -- that crashed also
deleting the files for 9.5.1 manually and reloading 9.3 from the original installation disks -- now these files crash
running a repair -- no changes
turning off all fonts except for times and courier -- still crashes
run disk utility -- no changes...still crashes
Now I'm dead in the water as I need pro to edit  pdf files. I can't install 9.5.2 because its an incremental update and I deleted 9.5.1.
Is there something I'm missing in reinstalling my old 9.3 version? Since it crashes before I can get to the licensing portion I'm not sure what to do. Perhaps there is a file I should manually delete. Any solutions to what seems to be a major problem for many users since the 9.5.1 update?
**NOTE: After posting this I reinstalled the 9.5.1 version from a timeline backup and installed the 9.5.2 update. The program still crashes on launch.

Since this problem still seems to not be resolved by the tech community I've finally come on my own suggestion. Since I couldn't get my original installation to work the normal way I tried to reinstall in a different location. Reinstalling my original software 9.3.0 on the desktop worked. I would suggest not upgrading until Adobe fixes the issue even if there are security risks.

  • Acrobat Pro 9- turn of update for all users in terminal environment

I have Adobe Pro 9 installed on several terminal servers. Everytime users login they are seeing an insufficient rights for updating Adobe. I don't want to give them rights but the Configuration Wizard isn't out yet. The sales department conveniently forgot to tell me it wasn't out but sold me on the fact it would fix some of our headaches. I need some kind of fix please.

This started happening right after installing the 9.46 update.  Anyone experiencing this issue?  Does anyone know of a fix SHort of a reg hack?  Thanks in advance.
