  • How to let the character in my flash game make a jump using AS3?

    i want to make the character in my flash game make a jump when the player presses a key,e.g. 'space',even the player release the key instantly,the character will still finish the complete jump process.Hope somebody will give me some advice, Thank you so much!!!

    what's the problem?

  • Why is it that when I play a game with a moving character, the game freezes up for a second when I move the character? This happens everytime I move them.

    This freezing problem that I am having only happens when there is a moving character in the game. For example, when I hit the left arrow to move them left, the game, in a way, skips the action, and then jumps ahead to after the character has moved. I am not sure whether that would be freezing up or just skipping. I have updated all of my plugins, and I do not know what else to try.

    Hello,
    Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
    You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
    Then perform these steps:
    *Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
    *In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
    *In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
    *Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
    Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:
    * [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]]
    * [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]]
    Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
    Thank you.

  • I can't change my font from the character menu, how do I fix this?

    Basically, the only way I can change my font is through the Type>Font menu up top (and by right clicking), but the list in the character palette and the control bar are empty. I can type in the name of the font I want and it will complete it, but even then it doesn't change anything. It is really inefficient for me to have to scroll through all the fonts every time, especially when I have no idea what font I want (or if the one I want is at the bottom of the list).
    It started doing this just out of the blue a few months ago, before then it was working fine, no idea what set it off. I can't print from Illustrator either, maybe it's part of the same problem (that started earlier).
    My version is CS2. Windows XP. I don't think that my boss is going to upgrade either in the near future. It's a small company, we don't have IT help.
    I've done some searching and have already tried:
    -uninstalling the old Illustrator 9 that was on here
    -deleting the aiprefs file
    -deleting the entire folder it was in
    -deleting all of the Adobefnt*.lst files I could find
    -restarting Illustrator, the computer several times
    I haven't tried reinstalling Illustrator yet. Don't know where the CD is, so it's a last resort.

    Oh dear. It looks like I have made things much, much worse.
    (I did indeed do my deleting with Illustrator closed, and tried moving before deleting)
    I opened it up again and did some work. I tried saving my file (in .ai format, variety of shapes, layers, fonts), when it told me that an unknown error occured, then another message that said something like "Can't finish previewing, not enough memory ID=-108", and then it crashed. Turns out that now it doesn't like fonts at all and it isn't too keen on shapes either.
    Found the CD. Uninstalled CS2, told it to delete my preferences file but keep the computer activated. Killed Adobe reader while I was at it (haven't reinstalled yet). Looked through my program files for any traces it left behind but didn't see anything (under Program Files>Adobe, and Documents and Settings>Application Data>Adobe). Restarted the computer and reinstalled Illustrator (well, I tried repairing first but that didn't do anything). And nothing has changed. Still can't access the fonts, and now I have errors opening/saving files too. There was another, new error, something something 6654 I believe.
    I'm baffled.

  • Precautions i need to take when changing the Character set

    Hi,
    ORACLE VERSION: 10G Release 1 (10.1.0.3.0)
    I am going to change my database's characterset from AL32UTF8 to WE8MSWIN1252 character set and AL16UTF16 NCHAR character set. So i have few questions for you.
    1. What is the difference between Character Set and National Character set? Do i have to set both?
    2. What are precautions that i need to take while changing the characterset?
    3. What are JOB_QUEUE_PROCESSES and AQ_TM_PROCESSES parameters in Plain English? Why do i have to set these parameters to 0 as mentioned in this post below.
    Storing Chinese in Oracle Database

    1) The database character set controls (and specifies) the character set of CHAR & VARCHAR2 columns. The national character set controls the character set of NCHAR & NVARCHAR2 columns.
    2) Please make sure that you read the section of the Globalization manual that discusses character set migration. In particular, going from UTF-8 to Windows-1252 is going to require a bit more work since the latter is a subset (and not a strict binary subset) of the former.

  • Sharepoint 2007 list error - The '}' character, hexadecimal value 0x7D, cannot be included in a name. Line 1, position 440.

    Hi Everyone,
    We have a sharepoint 2007 deployment which in general has been fine since it was built.
    Version is 12.0.0.6421 (MOSS 2007 SP2 (KB953334 & KB953338))
    on a Windows 2003 R2 SP2 server.
    We created a list a while back to store information for our servers but for some reason it now has an error.
    the symptoms are:
    1) Navigating to the list and choosing any view (a few custom views), we can see the data fine
    2)  Creating new items or modifying existing items brings up:
    An unexpected error has occurred.
    3) Trying to access the list settings brings up:
    An unexpected error has occurred.
    4) Using "view all site content" and clicking on the list brings up:
    The '}' character, hexadecimal value 0x7D, cannot be included in a name. Line 1, position 440.
    I've attempted to search for the error online but the error doesn't bring back anything specific to Sharepoint.
    My gut feeling is either a corruption of the list or a user has entered an invalid character in one of the list entries, but I cannot amend the list in any way.
    Ordinarily I would advise the user to re-create the list and enter the information from scratch, however this list contains alot of information and is crucial to the server teams documentation.
    Does anyone have any ideas on where I should be focusing my search efforts?  I did check the logs and couldn't see any obvious entries for this list.
    Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Carl

    Posted this a few weeks back - would appreciate any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Carl

  • The ''' character cannot be used in a path.

    I am trying to import HTML files from a previous version of online help into a newer version, but am getting the following error:
    "The filename is invalid. The ''' character cannot be used in a path."
    I have checked filenames of all HTML topics but I could not see '' or any other special characters having been used. This is happening for all HTML files in the older release of the help, not just one. Used version 9 for creating the older version, and that's what I am using for the new version. Please advise.
    If this error cannot be resolved, I'll have to manually copy the content from older topics into topics created in the new help.

    Hi there
    If you are importing several topics at once, you may need to use the "divide and conquer" approach. The goal is to sort exactly which of the files is giving you the issue. Once you identify the specific file, you will then be able to ascertain the exact character that is giving you fits.
    As a general note, I'd be looking at the files using Windows Explorer. ANY character other than a-z, A-Z, 0-9 or the underscore do I consider suspect.
    Best of luck to you in resolving this! Rick

    I want to create an intelligent file in my finder to show all pictures with 3 stars or more. Trying this, I don't know the character of the stars to fill in the respective box ??
    Thanks for your help.

    One of the comments suggests you can't use greater than or less than with the star rating in Finder.
    You might try a Raw Query with the kMDItemStarRating.
    In the criteria popup menu, select Other, then find the Raw Query entry.
    You might have to play around with the syntax, but try "kMDItemStarRating >= 3"
    Take a look here for query syntax: https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/ipad/#documentation/Carbon/Conceptual/Sp otlightQuery/Concepts/QueryFormat.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40001849-CJBEJBHH

  • Can I take an image created in Illustrator and have it be on the Character Map? I need to use it as

    I have an image that I need to use as a bullet many times for a specific client. Is there a way to take that image from Illustrator and convert it to something on the Character Map?

    If by Character Map, you mean the Windows Character Map application, which lets you view the glyphs in a given font, then no, you can't do that with Illustrator.
    In order for your bullet (a new glyph) to appear in the Windows Character Map application, it would have to be a glyph inside a font.
    Illustrator does not provide the capability of directly editing font files. (Corel Draw does.)
    So if you want to edit an existing font, or create a new font, you need a program that can edit and/or modify fonts.
    In modifying fonts, you would be restricted by the limitations inherent in fonts: your custom bullet or dingbat would need to consist of a single simple or compound path, and could only receive one color, as any other text object.
    The far more common approach to this problem is to use inline graphics. All of Illustrator's mainstrream competitors (and even InDesign) allow you to paste a graphic into a textframe, inline with the text, and have it behave as if it were a character in the text. Illustrator has never provided that commonplace feature.
    If you use InDesign you can, as a ridiculously cumbersome workaround, create your text object in InDesign, paste the artwork element(s) inline. When done, copy the whole text object and paste into Illustrator. It will be pasted into AI as PDF content, meaning a Clipping Mask containing a bunch of individual pointType objects and the bullets as separate objects.

  • Font previews not appearing correctly in the character window after upgrading to Yosemite

    Hi,
    I’m having an issue with Illustrator CS5 since I upgraded to Yosemite. When I go to the character window to select fonts they are not displaying the names correctly or to put it a better way they’re not showing at all!
    When I scroll up and down the list only the highlighted (where the cursor is positioned) font name and preview will show up as expected, oh and a few random font names. (please see attached image, although strangely the highlighted area is showing blank on this screen grab)
    I had to update the Java in order to get this version of illustrator working on Yosemite, could there be a connection to that?
    Thanks in advance.

    Adgatez,
    I believe this may solve it:
    Open System Preferences and go to Accessibility. Next, select Display from the source list along the left, then check the box labelled Reduce transparency.
    It was first presented in this post #15 by TheUlser:
    https://forums.adobe.com/message/6854594#6854594
    It may also depend on the monitor, as it appears from post #29 by Loncar in the same thread.

  • How to get the character set which i want it to be?

    i confront a problem, when using jdbc to connect to oracle8i database on solaris; because i use getBinaryStream() to read from db in "byte" reading, seemly it would use default character set on OS or database(such as EUC,etc.), not which the client i want it to be. is there anyway to take control of such code writing(i mean to change the character set when i get byte out of database, thus the byte would use NLS_LANG the same as using sqlplus setting in user env)?

    First of all read Note 581312 - Oracle database: licensing restrictions:
    As of point 3, it follows that direct access to the Oracle database is only allowed for tools from the areas of system administration and monitoring. If other software is used, the following actions, among other things, are therefore forbidden at database level:
    Creating database users
    Create database objects
    Querying/changing/creating data in the database
    Using ODBC or other SAP external access methods
    Are you trying this on the database server itself? If yes, then you need to install the hebrew codepages as well as hebrew fonts in order to display the data correctly.

  • Can i change the behavior of the character menu so that the list begins with the current font selected and not at the beginning of the list?

    Im struggling with the way the font selection tab works in the character menu.
    When i scroll down the list and select minion halfway down the list, the next time i click on the font tab, the list starts back at the top of the list making me scroll down the list every time i want to look for a font.
    Can anyone offer some suggestions here?
    thanks
    jeff

    You can't do it exactly the way you want, but if you have InDesign CC or CC 2014, you can set fonts in the Character panel or Control panel Type menu to be Favorites. Click the "star" beside a font to set it as a favorite. Then at the top of the menu, click the "star" filter to show favorites in your list instead of a list of all the fonts.

  • How to escape the character in a string?

    I have the following code that is causing an error. I'm
    attempting to use < (less than) character in a string that is
    part of a dynamic query:
    <cfif url.age eq 1>
    <cfset askAge = " < 15">
    <cfelseif url.age eq 10>
    <cfset askAge = " Between 56 and 60">
    <cfelseif url.age eq 11>
    <cfset askAge = " > 60">
    </cfif>
    The error occurs as a result of the line <cfset askAge = "
    < 15">. The > 60 works fine. What I need is to build the
    SQL statement SELECT * FROM myTable WHERE age < 15
    ColdFusion sets the string properly but when I try to run the
    query I guess it thinks I'm trying to open a tag. The exact error
    is:
    The content beginning "< " is not legal markup. Perhaps
    the " " (&#20;) character should be a letter.
    The content beginning "< " is not legal markup. Perhaps
    the " " () character should be a letter.
    I can't use the ASCII code for this character as the database
    will obviously crap out.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated and many thanks in
    advance.
    Dave

    Dave,
    What if you passed off the output of the lt/gt symbols to the
    query itself?
    Something like,
    <cfif url.age eq 1>
    <cfset compareOperator = "less"/>
    <cfset askAge = "15">
    <cfelseif url.age eq 10>
    <cfset compareOperator = "between"/>
    <cfset askAge = " 56 and 60">
    <cfelseif url.age eq 11>
    <cfset compareOperator = "greater"/>
    <cfset askAge = "60">
    </cfif>
    Then in the query:
    <cfquery name="qTest" datasource="dsn">
    SELECT * FROM myTable
    WHERE age
    <cfswitch expression="#compareOperator#">
    <cfcase value="less">
    <
    </cfcase>
    <cfcase value="greater">
    >
    </cfcase>
    <cfcase value="between">
    BETWEEN
    </cfcase>
    <cfdefaultcase>
    =
    </cfdefaultcase>
    </cfswitch>
    #askAge#
    </cfquery>
    Probably a better way, at least a more efficient way, but
    just a thought...cfswitch processed pretty quickly and this would
    remove any issues with trying to use <> symbols.
    Cheers,
    Craig

  • Problem in the character conversion

    Hi Guys,
    I am facing problem in the character conversion
    I am posting data from SAP to third party system using XI , by converting whole input message to a String .I am using SOAP adapter to communicate XI to third party system.
    Thirdparty system needs String to be wrapped in CDATA so that it will not choke by looking at the special characters. I did Wrap the output string in CDATA, using ABAP mapping but when I do that XI is converitng  arrow brackets < and >. into &lt and u2018&gtu2019   my assumption is it is double encoding.
    example -
    before map -  <AppSystemInfo>
    after mapping  it is converted as -  <![CDATA[ &ltAppSystemInfo&gt]]>

    Did you try to see the output?
    bcz if you are trying this in mapping testing it will show you like this as this conversion if for xml, so xml will not do anything wrong with the special characters, so for that special characters will be converted like that.
    Once try to run end to end interface and try to see at receiver side that how data looks like.
    Thanks,
