No backup is not good at all. This has always been very important.
You can transfer itunes purchases from your ipad/iphone/ipod: File>Transfer Purchases
You can e-mail pics to yourself. They will not be of the original quality.
You can enter one unique contact and calendar entry on the computer, you should get the option to merge the data when you first sync.
In some countries you can redownload some purchases:

I am getting a message that the Data Execution Protection Settings are closing the itunes program. But , when I try to change the DEP settings it is not possible to do it for itunes. I have also tried to un-install and reinstall the itunes ( and apple related programs ) but that hasn't worked either. I've had a fault with the hard drive on my laptop, it's been replaced and now my iphone and ipod can not sync unpurchased items with itunes. Is there anyway of sorting this without uploading all of my CD's again?

I am planning a long vacation and taking my laptop but it is my home computer that my new ipad and ipod touch are synced too. I know i can backup to the cloud over wifi but how can i do things like delete photo albums instead of having to manually delete pictures one by one on the Ipad. Is there any way also to add my pictures to the ipad other than through email. i am assuming that i can't just install itunes on the laptop and sync to that. I have been told that i always have to sync to my original synced home computer for that.

The last time I synced my iphone to itunes, I lost all my contact info, photos, calendar, and voice memos. This time I still have them, but I lost all the apps I had downloaded. Also, I just bought an ipad, and itunes does not recognize it.

Or better yet... try a search, I'm certain you'll find a solution to whatever issue you're experiencing.

HT1386 I have an iPhone 4 and I can't sync my music on iTunes with my phone anymore. Help!
I have iOS 6.1.3 for my iPhone 4 and the most updated version of iTunes. I've also tried other programs to try and upload my music to my phone and that doesn't work either. I've been able to do this up until the last month or so. The crazy thing is that iTunes acts like it has properly sync'd my music, but then nothing is on my phone.
As a last ditch effort, I took all of the music off my phone and iTunes. Then I put all of my music back into iTunes on my computer, but now I definitely can't get any music back on my phone. Not happy.
Any ideas???Vague.

My assumption with the sync account was that I could upload all of my Firefox information to your server, and upon reinstalling the new operating system Reese think that data back down to my freshly installed browser. It now seems to be asking me for a separate device to pair the sink with, which wasn't indicated as a prerequisite initially. Please help.

It's unfortunate that two passwords are required for such a thing, and that the design process implemented during the process doesn't make that particularly clear.

My ipod screen is cracked and i can't sync my ipod to itunes because it is locked with a password and i can't enter the password because the heat sensor is messed up on the ipod becasue of the screen and i don't want to restore it and lose everything. What can i do?!
All you can do is to restore and thus erase the iPod unless you can get a data recovery company to preserve the data.
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

What do you mean, "is it unlocked"? If your iPod has a screen lock set, it will be obvious from the iPod's screen. For issues with the iPod not appearing in iTunes, start which these troubleshooting steps:

Most of the users are unable to buy apps from Indian App Store. Pl. fix it
We are fellow users here on these forums, we won't know if/when other payment cards might be added to the Indian iTunes store until if/when Apple announce something. Based on what some people have posted some Indian debit cards are still accepted e.g. Re: can i download from itunes using debit card in india ?.

Have you redeemed your iTunes card to an account associated with an Apple ID?
Once you have your iPad associated with an Apple ID AND you have an account with a credit card associated with the same Apple ID AND you have some 'store credit' (from redeeming your iTunes card) then purchases use the store credit before they charge the credit card, so you should be ok!
Personally, I use 'store credit' as a way to monitor whether or not there have been any 'unauthorised' purchases because as soon as the store credit is zero, the security code from the credit card is needed for further purchases! It does mean that I have sometimes to top up store credit before making a purchase, but 'better safe than sorry'! -
